Power requirements for the x-fi fatal

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how much power this card draws from the power supply. I have a 500W power supply a 2.8ghz prescott processor and 2 gigs of RAM with a 6800GT video card. Since adding the X-fi my video card always tells me on startup that it's having to drop performance because it's not getting enough power. The problem started after adding the x-fil so I'm just wondering if the x-fi is taking too much juice away from the video card and if I need to upgrade my power supply I need to know how high i need to go

Get a quality power supply. I have PC P&C 50 SLI power supply and it's running without hiccu
ps.
My system has 3 SATA dri'ves, 3 fans, overclock Opteron 75, overclock 7800GT, XFi Platinum.
You can't go wrong on Seasonic or PC P&C power supply.

  • Power Requirements for the V490

We are ready to install a V490 and I can't find the appropriate information regarding the electrcal requirements for the V490. All I get is the standard "AC Power --- 200 - 240 VAC, 47 - 63 Hz, 2078 VA". With 2 power supplies, the AC requirements do not list as per power supply or per system. Does anyone know the requirements for each power supply? The electricians won't start till they get confirmation on the requirements.
    Thanks

ThanksEach power supply is capable of powering the entire server, so each will need the full input if the other supply fails.
    hope this helps,

the other question please, whats ur opinions about this card? is it ok with powerfull games?
GTX 550 and GTX 650 are budget (mid-range) GPUs.
They are good for everything (including 3D games).
However, in complex 3D games don't expect high FPS values.
If you play games most of the time, you should go for GTX 560 / GTX 660.

  • Specific Power Requirements For iPods?

    +(Yes I searched, no I didn't find this information.)+
I am looking for specific power requirements for multiple iPod models; 1st-Generation iPod touch, 5th-Generation 80GB Video, 3rd & 4th-Generation iPod nano, and 2nd-Generation Shuffle, to be precise.
I am not looking for the obvious information found on the Apple site, such as charge times and USB vs. FireWire. I need more accurate data such as exact mAh and wattage input requirements for each iPod. I know I have chargers that will satisfy the needs of the nanos and 80GB but leave the 1st-Gen touch wanting and waiting for more. At the same time, I do not wish to overload the smaller iPod models like the shuffle.
I have searched Apple.com and the Apple forums as well as Google, but I cannot find this information anywhere.
Please help! I am trying to find suitable alternate power supplies such as solar, crank, and AA/AAA-battery backup sources and I want one that will work with all of my current iPods and hopefully future iPod purchases as well (to include many current iPods). Thank you!

I don't have the info you need on the iPods.
But I have an AC charger bought originally to use with another brand of mp3 player. After I got my iPod, I didn't see the point in buying another AC charger if it would work with iPod, since the company (Griffintechnology) also makes some for iPods. (Of course, I would have to switch out the USB cable to the one that works with iPod, but that's easy enough.) I couldn't find the info on their web site or on Apple's, so I emailed Griffin, and they told me it was safe to use with the iPod. So far, so good.
So I would suggest emailing the maker of the chargers you already own, to check on compatibility. I know Griffin makes them, as does DLO. As far as AA/AAA rechargers, we recently got one from www.adrenalinetechnologies.com (haven't yet used it, though) that's supposed to work with multiple iPod models, and they have multiple adapters and such for different things.

  • Power Requirements for MacBook Pro 13 inch

Are there lower power requirments for the 13 inch MBP from the 15 and 17 inch?
I understand that the 15 and 17 require 85 watts of power output, but when I was shopping for a power inverter, they mention a 60 watt would work for the 13 inch MBP.
Mostly curious. Most of the power inverters I am looking at offer more than enough output (100 watts+).
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the smaller models use smaller batteries that do not require as high a charging power or power to run with no battery present.
If you were to use an inverter to convert DC to AC then it's a good idea to get one with a power capability about twice what will be connected to it in order to allow for surges.

  • Power Requirements for Micro ATX Boards

    hey all,
Are the power requirements for micro ATX boards the same as for ATX boards?
I see micro ATX power supply rated at 250, 230, even 180 Watts and i'm wondering if that can keep a system stable.

To my knowledge of Micro ATX PCB mobos + CPU and RAMs does not really tales up to the power requirements of an ATX PCB mobo + CPU and RAMs, so I think that 300watts will be a good bet.
Power AMPs for individual rails as per:
    +3.3v = 20A approx.
    +5v = 28A approx.
    +12v = 16A approx.

  • On installation of Firefox 4 beta, it tells me that it won't run on my Mac. When I go to system requirements, it takes me to a page for Firefox3.6 requirements. Where can I find the requirements for the beta?

The link to system requirements for Firefox 4 beta takes you to a page that gives you the requirements for Firefox 3.6 instead. I assume that the requirements for the beta are different as I can't seem to install the beta on my Macs. Where can I find the beta system requirements?

I never expected Mozilla to neglect the users of Apple's PowerPC (PPC) computers, while still supporting much older operating environments such as Windows XP. So, I should just throw away a $6,000 system, which is still fast and functional, and contribute masses of heavy metals to land-fills because…?
I'm hurt and confused after supporting Firefox for many years — installing and using it not only on my own computers but on most of my customers' computers. Now I have to tell my customers with PPC Macs they can't have a secure cross-platform browsing experience from Mozilla. They'll have to learn to use some other browser, or buy a new computer.
If one doesn't buy a new computer every year, one doesn't deserve Firefox 4. This is sort of sounding more like a Microsoft™© doctrine. (But wait, I can still have Firefox 4 on a ''SERIOUSLY CRAPPY WINDBLOWS XP pile of rubbish?!'') Please open your eyes Mozilla. This just doesn't make sense.

  • When I connect my MacBook Air to iPads through a powered USB hub the power cord for the hub explodes and trips the fuse on the building. I've tried different iPads, cords, power points to no avail.

When I connect my mac air to some iPads through a powered USB hub for VPP/Configurator, the power point for the hub blows out (tripping the fuse in the building). I've tried different iPads, cords, power points and of course hubs. Also the computer has a habit of shutting down when any type of USB device is removed from it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've done some experimenting, and this is what I've found out:
    1) The problem persists when I reformatted the USB HDD devices to ExFAT, so the problem apparently wasn't due to NTFS for Mac OS X by Paragon.
    2) The problem persists even when BackBlaze is paused, so I don't think that it's due to BackBlaze.
    3) The internet cuts out as soon as data begins transferring either to or from a USB HDD device and won't reconnected until I eject and unplug the device.
    4) The problem affects data transfers through either USB port.

  • What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following end points are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?

    Hi All,
What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following clients are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?
    Client Type
Port range  and Protocol required for Audio
Port range and Protocol required for
    Video
Port range and Protocol required for
    A/Vconferencing
    Windows Desktop   Client
    Windows mobile App
    Iphone
    Ipad
    Andriod phone
    Andriod Tablet
    MAC desktop client
    Please advise. Many Thanks.

Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports.  :)
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx
You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings.  I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.
Elan's got the best writeup for Windows clients here:
    http://www.shudnow.net/2013/02/16/enabling-qos-for-lync-server-2013-and-various-clients-part-1/
However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part.  Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings.  You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

I want to upgrade my 2008 Mac pro to the latest one, will it meet the requirement for the future Software that's coming out for the next four years?.

I'd wait. What can't you do that you need? You mean you want to buy a new model, then why not wait for an actual new one, not the two year old 5,1, when you need to and have outgrown.
Yours will run Mountain Lion. yours is 4 yrs old and still supported and has life left.
