Power Shot SX280 won't turn on.

I was shooting some  photos when the change battery indicator came on.  I removed the battery and  recharged it along with a spare battery.  When I replace either one of the fully charged batteries in the camera, nothing happens.  The camera does not turn on. It is essentially "dead."  The lens remains open and extended. Please advise as to how this problem can be corrected.
Thanks.

  • My MacBook Pro shutdown after it said my USB was draining to much power and now won't turn on please help

Hi my MacBook will not turn on after it said my USB was draining to much power, and it shut down and now won't turn back on please help

USB power management is part of the SMC (system management controller).  Try to reset SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Then get a self-powered USB external hub.  It takes power from a wall socket and saves the MBP power system.  Starting at $20 at BestBuy and similar stores.

  • Battery won't charge, was working off power adaptor, now won't turn on

Noticed my battery wasn't charging, however MacBook was running off the power adaptor. Now it seems the battery has lost all charge and it won't turn on. Should I just buy a new battery, or should it run off the adaptor and I'm looking at a more serious problem?

  • My Power Mac G4 Won't turn on

    Hi, Experts.
My G4 has problem. After I put it asleep, its power has gone and it won't turn on. When I press the power button, the light is on shortly and very short sound ( not chime but mechanical). I tried reset PMU already and thought the battery has problem, so I changed new battery. Actually, this happened the day before yesterday and yesterday suddenly it turned on for several hours and when I turned off, it won't turn on again. Any idea will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the startup problem you are having with the Powerbook G4 you list ion your profile, or with a G4 desktop?

  • Power book G4 won't turn on

So last night I went to plug my charger in and it made a real weird noise then now it won't turn on. Iv had problems with the battery so I'm not sure how to tell if it's the battery that's died or my computer. When I press that button at the back of my computer one green light appears. Thanks

It sounds like your power adaptor may not be working properly, especially since the indicator light doesn't come on. Try the PMU reset that Carolyn linked and see if this makes a difference. Also have a look at this article on troubleshooting power adaptors:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1725
It sounds like the battery is fully discharged and not working, but it may be that way because your charger is faulty.
It would be very helpful if you could try a known good battery that is charged, or a known good power adaptor. Do you have access to a friend with the same PowerBook or an Apple Store? If so, see if you can try one or the other or both and see if that cures the problem.
Your Mac should run from a good power adaptor, and it should run from a good battery.  If it still won't boot up, the problem would be with the Mac, and possibly with the board that contains the power port. If it does boot up, then you know that you need a new charger and possibly a new battery.
    Good luck!

  • Power PC G4 - won't turn on

I've got a PowerMac G4 (IBM processor) that is used as a server for some old but important files and it seems to have "died" - won't turn on at all. Could it just be the Lithium Battery is dead? Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I went to power on my old G4 and it just died. The button light came on for a split second then nothing. Now I get no lights, no sounds at all. I really need this old work horse. If anyone can help me get this trusty steed up and running, I would appreciate it. I hate to put it out to pasture.
P.S. I have no idea why I used all the horse references

  • Power Mac G5 Won't Turn On

Hi all, I'm a bit new to Macs. I just got this Mac from one of my friends, I plug it in and it makes a clicking noise. I thought this noise was for the power being connected into the board. As I press the button to turn it on the white LED lights up, but only when the button is held pressed. There are also some more clicking noises like when a circuit breaker brakes. The computer however does not turn on (no fans, no boot, nothing but the white LED). I have just reset the PMU and will try later (I don't know what year this is I only have some general info on it). Any help in this will be EXTREMELY appreciated.
Power PC G5 Dual Processer, 512MB400 (RAM), 160GB Hard Drive (Now has no hard drive), Nivida gForce 5200, SD (Don't know what that means), PCI-X, 56 KB Modem, Model Number: A1047.
P.S. also the warrenty on this is up (it was like that when I got it) so I can't go to Apple for it. I am also not willing to spend $230 on a new power supply or anyother thing expensive (well maybe later if I have the money).
    Thanks in advance, Chucklz

    Hi Chucklz-
Greetings and welcome to the Apple Discussion boards
Since you have already reset the PMU, you most likely have a bad power supply or logic board.
However, replacing the battery is cheap and easy and if that fixes the problem you will be better off than the alternative: Battery Replacement Instructions

  • 1st Generation iPod Won't Turn On

I have a original 1st generation iPod.  Yes, the one with the scroll wheel and 5gb (wow!) drive.  It doesn't turn on though.  Originally, I suspected a loose connection from the battery to the logic board, but testing with my multimeter shows me the connection is fine.  The iPod doesn't turn on at all.  I tried plugging it into my computer's firewire port and pressing the menu and play/pause button to no avail.
I have a picture in this post of the iPod - all dead like a brick.  Do any of you have any suggestions?  I am at a brick wall right now and need to find some solution.  Or if any of you know where I can get the iPod repaired or get a cheap logic board replacement?  I can't spend too much though.
    Thanks.

    Hi Cece!
See if the suggestions from these articles help with that issue you're having with your iPod failing to power on:

  • IPhone won't turn back on.

My iPhone 4S just randomly switched of on about 80% power and it won't turn back on. I've tried holding down the home and sleep buttons as well, but no luck. I put it into DFU made for recovery, and it did get discovered by iTunes, but the display doesn't turn on still.
It hasn't been damaged externally in anyway either.
    Please help.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Won't restore and won't turn on when unplugged.

My 1st gen iPod touch won't restore. Seems simple enough except my iPod has a weird issue which causes the iPod to shut off when unplugged from a power source and won't turn on. Whenever I go to restore it, it shuts off, turns on, then shuts off and won't turn on. I just installed a new battery and it worked previously. It won't restore in DFU or "Connect to iTunes" mode. HELP!

  • MacBook pro died, charged it fully, but won't turn on at all.

Using my MacBook earlier but then it died right when it was in use, yet it's done this before. When to charge it and waited toll it was fully charged. Checked the battery and it said it was all charged. Went to push the power and it won't turn on. The battery seems fine when I push it and all green lights turn on. But why won't the power button turn my computer on or why won't my computer turn on. This has never happens before.

  • MacBook Pro won't turn on even with green light on charger

i have a 2010 MacBook Pro. The battery has been permanently dead for years but it still turned on as long as I had the charger connected. Eventually the charger stopped working so I bought a new one. The light is green on the charger but the MacBook won't turn on now. I tried that reset thing as well as opening up the bottom and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and that didn't worn either. I pressed the button on the side and there's green flashing lights so its definitely getting power it just won't turn on. I don't know what else to do at this point.

Was that 'reset thing' a SMC reset?

If so, a new battery may be the cure but bring the MBP to an Apple store genius bar for a definitive evaluation first.

  • My iphone 5 won't turn on but when plugged into power source it keeps showing apple logo?

My iPhone 5 won't turn on at all and then when I plug it into a power source either into a plug socket or into my laptop with the USB cable it keeps showing start up screen with apple logo over and over again on a loop.
I have tried holding the top and front button together, this didn't work. I have also tried connecting to my laptop and following the reboot steps that I found on another discussion forum. Neither worked for me. The phone just won't reboot and it keeps continuing to loop the apple logo screen over and over without me touching anything.
The iPhone won't even connect to itunes and so itunes seems to not recognise my phone because its not even turning on (just continually apple logo screen appears for 5 seconds, goes to black screen and then repeats).
I don't know what is happening to it! Can anyone help? Is it a fault with the hardware or have I dont something to it? The next appointment at the genius bar for me is monday so I'm going to keep looking for any more recent ones until then but I really need to get it sorted before then so if anyone can help that would be great!
    Thanks

Try a reset when your iPhone is plugged into the charger as you say it does not respond when not plugged in...
Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then release.  This may take up to 10 seconds.  This is the equivalent of a re-boot and you will not lose any data.
See if it will charge after this.

  • My phone won't turn on. I have tried the Power button   home button several times and even held it for over 3 minutes.. When I plug it in it still won't respond to itunes PLEASE HELP!! A little water got in it but it was like a drop or two..

My Iphone 4g, won't turn on, I have tried the power button + home button several times and held them for over 3 minutes. It won't even respond to Itunes and I can't restore it because of that. A little water got into it before it completely shut off but it was like little drops.. Please HELPP.
I also have tried  to put it in rice and left it there for 9 hours and it still doesn't work

A drop or two of water may have been enough to cook it. If it was bad enough to prompt you to put it in a bag of rice, then I'd venture to guess it was more than a drop or two.
Try putting it back in the bag of rice and leave it there for several days.
If that doesn't fix it, then you're more than likely looking at paying for an out of warranty replacement.
Water and delicate electronics don't generally get along well.

  • My iPod is stuck on the Apple logo and won't do anything! It won't turn on, doesn't give me the option to power it off, and to top it all off, it's not being recognized by my computer OR by iTunes when I plug it into my computer.

So yeah...last night I was checking out my iPod (bored at the in-laws) and all of a sudden the screen went blank and the only thing I can get it to do is have the black screen w/ the white apple logo on it. It won't turn on, doesn't give the the option to power down, it won't charge, AND it's NOT being recognized when I plug it into my computer. Not by iTunes OR my computer. I've tried holding down the top button and the home button at the same time...nothing. And since it's not being recognized on my computer, I cannot restart it or go back to factory settings. Someone please help! I've had it for 18 months so the warranty is no longer valid and I don't know how to fix it. THANK YOU in advance!

    - I would try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then see if iTunes will see the iPod.  try both with the iPod not connected to the computer and with it connect. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Next see if placing the the iPod in DFU mode will make it visible
