Power & Steam Mapping in PP

Hi,
I am having a query regarding POWER and STEAM.
We have just upgraded from 4.6c to ECC6.
They have a in-house Power and Steam Generation which is so far not mapped. At present POWER and STEAM is being added as a Activity in Routing.
But now they want to track the Power and Steam Generation as a separate plant (manufacturing unit). Hence they want to put the same into BOM instead of Routing.
Is it advisable to go for the same?, as I think that Power and Steam is a Utility and is a part of Routing than of the BOM, as it is difficult to relate Power Unit with the qty. FERT produced and also we cannot declare it as a Stock material (need to define it as a Pipeline Material).
Can you suggest what is the best practice in such a scenario ?

In your case if you know the exact power consumption for productwise then an activity type can be
created to capture the same along with the costing part.
But in general the fuels like water,gas or steam will be considered as Pipeline materials which will be
always available.

If I understand correctly, you want to change the bubbles in the map.
Based on my test, Power view map is not support to modify the bubbles. The circle bubbles in the map is by default. There is an article about Create Map-based Power View Reports, you can refer to it.

As far as I know, the error message "Bing error: Map tiles not found. A connection to Bing could not be established " will pop up when Powerview map can't access the Bing map server. (Quote From: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/774162/cache-power-view-map )
Thus, I suppose that this issue might be caused by your Network environment changed. When you used the power view map in your company desktop, it might be set some proxy server to connect the Bing map server, but when you put the daskboard to your laptop,
the proxy server had not been set, the powerview map can't find the right port to access the Bing map server. Please check the different network/proxy server settings between work computer and laptop computer.

When I export to and from power point, the mapping of bullets does not seem to be one for one. My bullets in iwork seem to map to bullets with numbers in them in power point. How can I figure out which bullets in Power Point map to which bullets in iwork?

Hope you are doing the following:
1. Create a pptx
2. Save and click on Presenter ->Publish.
3. Select the tab 'Adobe Connect'
4. Configure the server by clicking on 'Edit server'
5. Click on Add and enter name (any name) and URL of server ('http://<server name like my.adobeconnect.com>)
6. Press Ok and then Publish.
Are you redirected to Connect server login screen ?
If still you are not able to publish, please provide the name and URL of server you entered.

Cannot MESH Multiple MAPs to Single RAP

Hello,
Our environment consisits of ~200 1552E APs. Up until recently we have used either Cat6 or fiber to connect them to our network. Recently we have begun meshing APs instead of running the Cat6 or fiber. The meshed APs have been single MAPs connected to single RAPs.
This week I have started testing multiple MAPs. Painfully, I have not been successful with meshing more than one MAP to a RAP. For instance, I have set up a RAP with a BGN of "MESH_TEST" and two MAPs with the same BGN. If I power the RAP with MAP #1, the meshed link works like a charm. If i power on MAP #2 and power down MAP #1, the mesh between MAP2 and RAP works great. If I attempt to power both MAPs, only one of the MAPs will establish a connection to the RAP while the other cycles through it's discovery for meshed neighbours and WLC.
Have I overlooked anything?
On the contrlloer I have executed the following command - debug capwap events enable
What I see in the log is the following line that continues to occur for the MAC address of the unconnected MAP.
*RRM-DCLNT-2_4: May 15 14:05:20.520: d4:d7:48:6d:6c:60 Unable to find data structure for AP D4:D7:48:6D:6C:60
I have searched the forums and documentation for this error/message and cannot locate any reference to it.

MAP not joing RAP

Hi there
I am using 2106 controller and 1522 APs. I am priming the APs. The RAP joins the controller easily and so does MAP when I connect it via ethernet to the network for priming but afterwords, the MAP is unable to joing RAP over wireless and even there are no debug outputs for MAP. Can anyone suggest whtat should be reason for that. I have check settings like mobility group name and WLC name in MAP settings but everything looks fine. Although I have tested this priming method many times but this is the first time I am having this problem.

Few things
-Have you put the MAC address of the APs in the MAC filter
-what software code are you running
-have you factory defaulted the controller and put a fresh configuration on the 2106
-are you using a static IP address on the APs or DHCP as there is a bug with the 1522's using static IP addresses, you need to ensure a DHCP is available on the network for the MAPs
-How are you power the MAPs?
-also can you console onto the 1522 APs and see whats happening and whether there are any errors
-when you primed the 1522 did you set its role to Mesh AP

In papers industry they have different varieties of paper production in which they are characterized by the GSM (thickness), sizes and grades. These characteristics are not given by customer, they are pre-defined and are fixed i.e based on the available variety of paper that is produced in paper mill the customer makes the order for sheets or reels(FG). The different customer makes the order for different grades and GSM of paper. In 7th day of every month they compile the orders in order to get the net quantity of paper quality type to be produced and based on that the production is done. Remaining materials like pulp, power, steam, water treatment production are continuously takes place without any reference to the FG(paper) to be produced. There is fixed production lines.
Eg:
A,B, C are the grades of paper. If for A-10MT,5MT,15MT are the orders and for B-4MT,2MT similarly for C-15MT,20MT are the orders. Then totally for A-20MT, B-6MT and for C-35MT planned to produce in a month.
Note: If the customer needs the new variety or changes in the paper variety that is already available then R & D is made on that variety and a new name is given to it.
Hence, this is Make To Stock with Repetitive manufacturing process. Is this process is right??
As per SAP best practices in repetitive process scenario, there will wont be conversion of planned order to production/process order, based on planned order the production takes place and then we will do the Operative backflushing.
Here, the client requirement is on what basis the goods issue has to be done for production?? as there will be no production/process orders.

REM process has been developed by SAP for less complicated scenarios. I mean where product varieties are less and process is less complex.
That is the reason there is no concept of order. Cost is getting captured on the product cost collector lever rather individual order level(In discrete).
Goods issue is on planned order which is of PE type (Once order is LA type you can assign the material to planning table. Then it will be PE)
GI happen through back flush.

i think first you need to check where exactly this is stored in R/3 for example go to the screens where they are storing then it will be easy for you to identify functional areas as well as the tables involved in
and i don't think we have any fields like salt, hydrocholic acid...they all come under material which are used for production..

Activity confirmation issue

Dear Gurus,
We are facing issue in confirmation of Activity such as power , steam. As in process industry output is variable.
accordingly at the time of confirmation activity viz power , steam should varies is it possible?
In transaction cor6 we can enter manually units actually consumed.
My second query is
In T-code CORK and COID How to / where to enter actually consumed unit of Power and steam in screen? As users are using all the 3 T-code for confirmation.
Please guide me as we are facing cost variance in Process order confirmation due to activity.

COID is just reporting transaction.
COR6N is single screen entry transaction
CORK is header confirmation
When you do confirmation using CORK, all the confirmable phases in the order gets confirmed to the yield qty mentioned in the screen, this also take care of activity confirmation.No option to post activity seperately.

Dear All,
I am using 4 activity types i.e. POWER/MACHINE/STEAM/LABOUR.
MACHINE & LABOUR are calculated using same formula: like
Machine=machine*(SAP_09/SAP_08)
Labour=Labour*(SAP_09/SAP_08)
& for POWER & STEAM I am using:
Power=(Power(machine(SAP_09/SAP_08)))
Steam=(Steamr(machine(SAP_09/SAP_08)))
But on seeing the lof for cost while creating a process Order I am getting only the machine & labour correct,The steam & Power are getting calculated wrongly.
For example
If my base SAP_08=1200000
& SAP_09=1200000
& my activity values in the recipe =
Machine= 16 Hr
Labour= 64 hr
Steam= 127 Kg/Hr
Power=388 KW
Please advice how to resolve this issue.

can u plz explain why for one routing Base unit are different?
As per my knowledge the base qty should be the same which is same as BUM in case of routing and depends upon client requirement in case of Rate routing.
For Power consumption formula should be like (base unit/power consumption for base unit)* total qty of process order * rate

OS 6.0.2 Battery Issues

Is there way to revert back to the old version? I wasn't having a wifi issue like many other users here. I am now finding myself trying to charge my phone whenever possiable to just keep a charge for 1 day. This was never an issue befoere 6.0.2

I am getting very acceptable battery life from my new iPhone 5 running 6.0.2 - 2 days per charge minimum. The key (as it has been for a few years) is to close inactive applications that use location services. There is a short delay in opening these power hungry apps when you want them, but that is more than compensated for in not having to worry about running out of battery power.
Maps are the worst battery drainers and navigating from place to place will burn power rapidly. I use a car charger during navigation. Some apps have been worse than other - Groupon was bad at first, and Cyclemeter or MapMyRide (fitness apps) will drain the battery even when not active. I leave Safari running full time without problem. Some apps are more efficient than others so I suggest experimenting.
To close applications double click to launch the app switcher, press and hold any application until they all jiggle, then touch the red close button of the apps you don't want running.

Can I plot 2 locations at the same time for each record in a table

I'm trying to plot 2 Locations (2 points on a Power View Map) at the same time for each record/project in a table
I can plot 1 location for each project of course with no problem
but I'm trying to show the Begin Point and the
End Point for each project at the same time
Is this even possible?

The MAP FIELDS are as follows
SIZE - Count of Stop(s)
LOCATIONS - OneLongLat followed by
LongLat (drill down feature)
COLOR - Trip
The problem now happens with the drill down feature
You can either plot OneLongLat which is the general location for each trip
Or LongLat of each trip which shows the begin and end points
But you can't use the drill down feature???
If instead of OneLongLat you use a
State Column it actually works!!!
I wonder if it has to do with the fact that both locations used for the drill down are Long/Lat numbers???
Any suggestions???

Dear All,
In my power plant, Steam and power is produced.
I want to map the scenario. But how can i saw power production and sell to different units. As power, we can not keep in stock as it is directly issued/consumed/sold. So are there any specific things are provided by SAP for power production and selling?
If you have any idea plesae share the same as I want to produce steam and power and want to sell the same to different plants within client or may be to supplied to govt in future.
FYI in my company, Descrete manufactuting is there. Version 4.6 C
In PP/SD/CO/MM side, what transactions may be followed to achieve this?(steam and power production and sell).
so how to map this scenario. pl. suggest.

Hi, YOu can use REM to capture the production cost of the power and steam. Create as halb materials but make sure that the process is mapped in such a way that stock is consumed to full at the month end processing....
1) if we generate steam and power and stock it , how to clear it. : depend on your process, if the consumption for steam and power is booked at end of shift, just before that do a GR for the equivalent power and consume it....
3) What will be the implications on cost , if we stock steam and power. - you can do a standard cost estimate.
