Power supply/adapter for Motorola ONT1000GI4

I fell for the three service package when getting FiOS initially. It turned out I didn't use the phone at all and I haven't watched TV in months. I digress, during the install, I noticed the tech installing the battery which, according to him was to facilitate phone calls during power outages.
The battery backup unit started beeping periodically the past few weeks indicating it needs to be replaced (though supposedly, it lasts 5 years and I've had it for just over one.) I decided to disconnect it altogether which is when I realized that the ONT is powered directly by the unit with some proprietary connector that looks similar to an S-video cable.
I would like to purchase a standalone power adapter/cable to power it via wall adapter instead of having to use the big battery which serves no purpose to me aside from taking up space and being an eyesore. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find much info on the ONT model to help me in my search. Also, there's no power information on the ONT indicating the voltage and amps required.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
P/N is 567004-003-00
FA P/N (not sure what this is, but it's on the unit as well) is 573796-003-00

You cannot easily replace the power supply / battery unit ("BBU"). The ONT communicates with it to obtain status on power and battery.  It's more than just supplying the correct voltage.
You have several options to deal with the low battery:
Remove the current battery and press the battery silence button.
Re-install the current battery and see if that turns off the warning beep.
Buy a new battery.  Online prices are very good.
Earplugs.
Note that if you have a battery, the internet will stay up for a minute or two during power outages.  If you want longer run time, you need to supply your own UPS.
Good Luck.

I have a UK adapter now, which was inlcuded, but I want one for swedish sockets instead. I have an "external" adapter now, but I hoping I can get a proper adapter which fits the power supply.
    Thanks.

    Hi Joakim,
Do you have the original UK charger for the Nokia PowerUp? If it's the one with the removable pins would you sell me the UK pins? And perhaps someone else has the Swedish clip, I've got a spare USA one.
    Cheers

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.

  • Is it possible to change Power Supply unit for Lenovo H420 PC ?

I have 2 questions really as i recently bought this budget system.....I was amazed to see that the PSU was only 280 watts for this systemwhich kind of limits what Graphics card I can upgrade to.
    My questions are :
    1) is it possible to upgrade the Power Supply unit for the H420 from the default 280 W to say to a 400 W one?
    2) If I cannot upgrade the PSU, what is the best performing Graphics Card that I can use in this system? It was pre-installed with a NVIDEA GeForce GT 520, which isn't the best around.
My 6 yr old Dell Dimension 8400 system with Win XP, which i have discarded allowed me to insert NVIDEA GeForce GT 240 card, which i think is a slightly superior card to the above one. Needed a 300 W PSU

Hi RBec and welcome to the community,
Is this your thread over there?  If not, it gives a few options concerning the PSU.

  • Power supply insufficient for MS-6547 setup?

I recently installed a 645 Ultra along with a processor and RAM (see specs below).  I keep getting freeze-ups while doing various tasks.  Sometimes it's for 2 or 3 seconds, sometimes it lasts 15-30 seconds, and sometimes it will freeze up indefinitely and I'll have to reboot.  I'm running Windows 98 SE for now, I'd put XP on except I'm sure it will freeze in the middle of the installation.
I'm wondering if maybe my power supply just sucks.  Here are the specs:
    +3.3V ~ 28A
    +5V ~ 30A
    +12V ~ 15A
    -12V ~ 0.8A
    -5V ~ 0.3A
    +5VSB ~ 2A
If it's not the PSU, I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to remedy my problem.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm not sure what I'm looking for though.  This is what it says under Conflicts/Sharing:

  • Need Help with power supply reccomendations for my graphics card

    hi
i have a MSI GeForce GTX 780 Graphics card... i built my own system, i also got a rosewill rx750 power supply in it which i think is causing me problems, the computer works great until i get into games like titan fall and try and get into a game then it restarts the computer on its own.. has done this with a few games, but it works fine when surfing the net and so forth, i have read its to do with the power supply being week and also read my chosen power supply isnt that good... anyone got any recommendations for me that i should look at or am i looking in the wrong direction with whats wrong with my pc... any help would be great thanks

yes the PSU is  the most important choice out there and corsair and seasonic are the best out there! (never buy cheap PSU's as like abvolt said a cheap one can easily kill your more expensive parts)
Cheap PSU = made of the most cheap parts they could get "think cheap shanghai parts are used that may be of any quality good or awful as its just what they could get for the lowest price" (ever bought anything that was super cheap they break very easily)
Quality PSU = the use of good quality well made parts and will have very good testing done on them to make sure they are stable and pass very tight regulations and conform to specs for 10-30 different factors each.
a cheap low quality PSU I class as a paper weight as it will never go near a computer (maybe i would use one as a basic bench PSU for things i do not care if they die or just for testing a fan or something that rubbish dirty power is not really a major problem but silicon is not tolerant to dirty power and will kill parts)

  • Power supply needed for MS-7220 (Diamond Plus) and others.

The following statement is taken form the K8B Diamond Plus Manual.
For ATX 12V power connection, it should be greater than 18A.
If I am interpreting correctly, the ATX 12V connector should have dedicated to it a minimum of 18A.
My first, question is if the Power Supply has two or more rails, how do you know the power dedicated to the ATX 12 connector on the Power Supply?
Second, if a +12V rail is not dedicated the connector, how do you know what is connected to each rail of the Power Supply?
This maybe the source of why many are saying, they have more stable system performance when using single rail Power Supplies.
I have tried eleven different manufactures to get more detailed Power Supply specifications, but no responses; today through February 1st is the Chinese New Year.
Those of you running the K8B Diamond Plus, what are you using for Power Supplies and are you having any instability problem?
One thing I did find curious was that going the manuals and in most all of the newer Socket 939 motherboards have this specification, but nothing in the motherboards specifications of on the MSI Web Site about this required and the are a lot of 500-600 Watt power supplies sold that do not meet this specification.
The statement Total Wattage does not mean a thing has even more meaning to me now.
Are we going to have to know the Current Rating of each cable on the output of a Power Supply now to insure we are purchasing the correct Power Supply?
    Roger

    Roger
Ihave a Tagan 580w U22 with switchable dual/combined +12v rails and it is very stable, set it combined for 35a.
Only thing to ponder was the 4/8 pin +12v/p4 connector, power supply has the correct split 2x4pin connectors so does the board but there is a little removable cover over 4 pins,so thinking MSI fitted it there for a reason I have fitted only one 4 pin connector,no problems as yet.
Think you may well have a point re the 18a.
I have just given my son my old sli platinum/cpu/heatsink/ram/vga card, this setup ran  250/11/4 @ 1.4v & ram 2.5 3 3 7 1.1 @ 2.75v with the Tagan.this setup now fitted in his case but with a dual 18a rail Enermax and he can't o/c stable to the old settings.Case has better cooling than the wavemaster it all came from.
Dont think the enermax is bad just that it supplies the power a different way.

  • Power Supply Help for 466mhz G4 - where can i get a good deal.

I need to find a replacement for the power supply in the machine. It is an original 466mhz g4, agp graphics. The power supply says 126w max and had AC BEL on it.
Can anyone help me out in finding a cheap place to get a power supply that fits this machine perfectly? Looking for a reputable dealer (obviously).
    Thanx in advance.

    Hi Nelson,
You're machine is a Digital Audio (the only G4 to have shipped with 466MHz processors), and the PSU is 338W - which should be adequate for most things. Why do you need a new power supply?
If you need a new one, it won't be cheap. You can try this place:

  • Power supply options for H530

I am currently running a Dell Dimension 2400 with 640 meg of ram and Windows XP. The computer has served me well for the last 6 years but I think it's time for an upgrade. We use our computer for basic email, web surfing and occasionally microsoft office documents. I received a email this morning that the Lenovo H530 is on sale for $399.00 (100 dollars off). It has 4 GB of ram, windows 7, 1TB hard drive, Intel dual core G3220 processor. It is expandable to 16 GB of ram. I am sure that this computer is sufficient for our needs. The only question that I have would be the power supply. The unit comes with a 180 watt power supply. I know in the past I attempted to install a video card in my old Dell and it wouldn't work because of the power supply. Evidently it did not produce enough power to run the system and the additional video card. Will I run into any issues if I wanted to install a power supply with more wattage in the Lenovo so I can install a video card down the road if I wanted? Thanks for your help

    hi johnfillippi,
    Welcome to the Forums.
AFAIK, you shouldn't have any problems or encounter any issue(s) replacing the stock PSU of the H530 as it uses the standard ATX form factor (the front panel connectors are also standard).
In addition, if you'll be using an aftermarket graphics card other than the one listed on page 49-50 of the hardware maintenance manual then you may want to check this article as you may need to alter some BIOS settings for the graphics card to work (this applies if the BIOS is UEFI enabled).

  • No power supply cable for second hard drive

Hard drive in PC is crashing mechanically.  Want to ghost a second hard drive before first drive crashes completely.   Bought duplicate of existing hard drive, but there is no power supply cable/connector for it.  Have SATA plug, but cannot power up second hard drive.  What do I do?

    LB1815, welcome to the forum.
If I understand your problem correctly, this is the connector that you need.  It converts a single SATA power cable to two connectors.  This allows you to connect two drives with on cable.  There are many other brands available on Newegg.  This is just one example.

How Much Power Do You Need?
    Component         Requirement    Line(s) Used
    AGP Video Card           30 – 50W    +3.3V
    Average PCI Card        5 – 10W    +5V
    10/100 NIC                   4W             +3.3V
SCSI Controller PCI Card 20W            +3.3V and +5V
    Floppy Drive                    5W           +5V
    CD-ROM                        10 – 25W    +5V and +12V
    DVD-ROM               10 – 25W    +5V and +12V
    CD-RW                                        10 – 25W   +5V and +12V
    7200rpm IDE Hard Drive                 5 – 20W    +5V and +12V
    10,000rpm SCSI Drive                 10 – 40W    +5V and +12V
    Case/CPU Fans                             3W (ea.)    +12V
    Motherboard (w/o CPU or RAM)    25 – 40W    +3.3V and +5V
    RAM                                        8W per 128MB    +3.3V
    Pentium III Processor                       38W              +5V
    Pentium 4 Processor                       70W                   +12V
    AMD Athlon Processor                       70W                  +12V
For overall power supply wattage, add the requirement for each device in your system, then multiply by 1.8. (The multiplier takes into account that today’s systems draw disproportionally on the +12V output. Furthermore, power supplies are more efficient and reliable when loaded to 30% - 70% of maximum capacity.)
