Power Supply and Graphics Card Question for HP Pavilion a6432p

Hello!
I have the HP Pavilion a6342p, and I'm wanting to install an NVIDIA Graphics Card either 512MB or 1GB. However, I'm not sure what is the power supply to this model (most graphics cards are saying 300-350W supply required).
Can anyone tell me what is the power supply to this model, and what would be a good graphics card model to look at to upgrade my graphics card to with this model? I believe the expansion slots are PCI-Express, but I'm not sure on the power supply so I can get the right graphics card.
Thanks!
Nathan

[edit] err, the 9100 is an integrated video chipset.  Are you sure that's the correct number?
No the 9100 is not just an integrated video chipset and is available in both AGP & PCI form.
The Antec is a good PSU but I would recommend getting something better such as the OCZ or Enermax as they have a higher +12v rail amp.

  • New power supply and graphic card for Compaq CQ3232L

    Hi all,
I am using Compaq CQ3232L and would like to upgrade the graphic card with one of the HD 5770, Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X 1Gb 128Bit DDR5 to be exact.
My current power supply (Bestec Model ATX01...) specs are:
    +12V/11A, peak 13A
    +5V/10A, +3.3V/10A,
    -12V/0.3A, 180W according the manual.
I've been looking a replacement for the power supply but not sure which one will fit the case? And how much power will be need to run the Sapphire card and future upgrade (Blu-Ray drive and another HDD)?
    Regards,
    Eko

WSH, besides measuring the PSU, you should assure that there is sufficient space for the video card.  Open the case.  Measure from the edge of the case to the opposite side of the motherboard where the PCIE slot is located.  This is the approximate length of the card that will fit.
Also, I like OCZ and Corsair PSU's.  They are both enthusiast/gamer manufacturers.  Their products will provide clean, stable power for your system.

  • H535 Power Supply and Graphic Card

I have did a lot of internet research, but I cannot seem to find what I am looking for. I plan to upgrade the video card in my machine, H535-57323780, because I have the need for 3+ monitors. I have been considering a XFX-R7750 core edition to meet the video needs. But with that card, I need a power supply that is 450w+. Also, I'm not sure if that card will work or not because some of the posts have referenced using a "low-profile" card.
Any advice on as to whether the card will work or not and suggestions for the appropriate power supply will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Your choice for a PSU will fit but it doesn't meet the AMD system requirements  which is 400 watts.
The ASUS AMD 6670 that you have referenced should fit but it's always best to open your PC for inspection and measurement.
This Corsair CX430 meets the minimum AMD recommended PSU wattage size and it's actually a bit cheaper due to the available rebate and shipping charge.  All of the 12 volt amperage is on one rail so you will not have to worry about 12 volt rail balancing.

  • Processor and graphics card upgrade for hp dc5100 MT(EF633US)

Can someone kindly tell me a variety of Intel processors and graphic cards which i can install in my pc coz right now i'm using Intel pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz and Intel 82915G/GV/910GL express chipset. but i would like to upgrade to a faster processor and a graphics card which can play games which require large graphic memory (eg FIFA 2013,GTA 5.etc)

    Hi:
Personally, I wouldn't invest the money to upgrade that PC.
You would be better off getting an off lease newer dc5800 MT or dc7800/dc7900 model that has a PCIe x16 video slot.
The killer for your model is you can only install a PCI graphics card.
Very inefficient and pretty expensive for what you get in return.
After you install the required microcode update, the best processor I know for sure you can install would be the P4 650.
Below is the link to the quickspecs.  The supported processors are listed on page 7.
I do not know of anyone who that has installed the 651 or 661 processors and got them to work--even though the specs state they are supported.
You can try the 651 or 661 and if you do, please let me know if they worked for you.

  • New power supply and sleep light question

I just got my iMac back with a new power supply and logic board installed under the Apple repair extension program. I had diagnosed the problem using the Apple troubleshooting assistant online. When I did this I also reset the SMU (system management unit) per the instructions with the troubleshooting assistant.
My computer is now working correctly but when I run Software Update I am prompted to install the iMac G5 Sleep Light Update version 1.0. I had previously installed version 2.0.0 back in July/05. I don't have the ambient light sensor iMac. I am a little nervous about installing this version or reinstalling the version I alreay have in my utilities. I realize this is a firmware update and cannot be reversed.
Anyone else experience this with 2 different versions of the Sleep Light Update, I don't seem to be able to find any info on the Apple site.
    Thanks for any info
    Scott

"reinstalling the version I alreay have in my utilities"
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have it in your utilities folder, I believe that means that the installer folder has been downloaded, but the install was not done. I am thinking that once installed, it disappears from the Utilities folder.
I see no reason why you would need to do that firmware update if you don't want it. In the future, if you or someone else wants to do the update, it'll still be available on the Apple website.

  • Graphics card upgrade for HP Pavilion a1020n

Hi Everyone! I need to upgrade the Graphics card in my HP Pavilion a1020n for windows 7 Aero or windows 8. i need the graphics card to run Minecraft,Roblox,The Sims 3, Roller coaster tycoon 3, decently. Thanks

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion a1020n Desktop Computer and it's PTGD-LA (Goldfish3) motherboard. According to the specs, your computer has no dedicated graphics card expansion slot. The only expansion slots available on this system are three traditional and/or conventional PCI slots. One of these slots currently contains a K56flex modem.
Here is a selection of PCI graphics cards that may meet your requirements. Please note that these cards may also require you to upgrade your power supply as well.

  • Can I upgrade my processor and graphics card in my HP Pavilion g6-2244sa Notebook PC?

Hi I bought this laptop 2 years ago for gaming purposes and school work. I was told by the shop assistant that it can run most fo your big games such as Call Of Duty and FIFA. Well frankly i was lied to and this laptop struggles to even play the simplest game Minecraft a game about pixelated blocks that you destroy and place and this can't even run it I am very annoyed about this and seeing if i can upgrade the machine never crossed my mind until now. So i am asking to see if it would be possible to upgrade the Hardware of this machine mainly the processor and graphics card, here are the specs of my laptop:
Processor- AMD E2-1800 APU w/ Radeon HD graphics (2CPUs) (1.80)GHz
Graphics Card - AMD Radeon HD 7340G
    RAM - 8Gb
    Memory - 1Tb
Now I am wondering if this machine's processor and graphic's card can be upgraded and if so what would be the price of it and where would be the best place and if the cost is too much would i be better off buying a new machine?
If you need more specs reply with the ones you need and i'll get them for you thank you for the help!

Put this way if that system isn't costing you 2,000US or more then it will not play Call Of Duty and FIFA regardless of what the store sales person says. To play those games your laptop has to fall into the catgory called "Gaming Laptop" Specs and those come with cost and weight to show for it. Your laptop is only good at low games resolution and will not handle graphics intensive games. Those requires Gaming Laptop specs those cost money to be had. So if you still want to Game COD style you need to put down the cash for serious Game Laptop to perform under pressure. Forget about upgrading your current system what you want is a Serious Gaming Laptop if your going to play COD.

  • Processor and Graphics Card Upgrade For HP ProBook 4445s

    Hey guys,
I wanted to ask that  I have a HP4445s with the A6 4400m processor and don't find it enough to play games.
The processor is a little bit slow and the graphics are kind of horrible for a gamer.
I feel like upgrading to a new processor.
The one that  I found nice is the
    AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor
I just wanted to ask whether I could upgrade to this.
I also wanted to find out that it says that there are no integrated graphics, so does that mean I will have to purchase a new graphic card?
    Thanks,
    Please reply!

That is a desktop processor and will not fit in any laptop. Right now some of the HP Support pages are down but I believe you can install an A10 AMD CPU which would improve the graphics just a little. There is no graphics "card" as you might be thinking of. It is a flat motherboard inside the laptop case with all the chips including video soldered on that board. The video comes from within the processor working with helping chips on the motherboard. An A10 processor provides slightly better graphics but nothing that will increase the gaming potential very much. That is a business laptop for doing Powerpoints and Spreadsheets and maybe watching a youtube video or playing a DVD. It is not a gamer. HP now makes the Omen laptop at about $1500 which would handle most high end games.

  • Cisco power supply and APC UPS question

Good afternoon, I am running a 4507 with the Power Supples PWR-C45-2800ACV
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps4324/product_data_sheet09186a00801f3dd9.html
Can I plug this power supply into this UPS unit?
    http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SMX3000RMLV2UNC&tab=models

    Jason:
My guess is that 2800w power supply is looking for two legs of AC in to make the DC stable on the switch.   I've installed a lot of 45XXx over the years but I never have more than 100 ports of active POE on them as most buildings have lots of computers and printers and a few VOIP phones and access points.
Now, those power supplies are pretty fault tolerent and well built.  They can take (probably) swing voltage from 40-240V and 50-60Hz.    You can wire up the L6-30 into the TWLK cable and only have 20A of 120V on one leg from the output of your UPS.     You just have a single 30A hot, neutral and ground and a dead leg for hot into the power supply.   You use half the power supply.
The capacitors on the power supply will just have to absorb that and deal with it.   That's their job.  Short term batteries.
One thing you need to realize is that you don't have to have two full-capacity 2800w circuits for the switch.   The 2800 is a reference number and that's based on a lot of inneffiencies in the entire system.
You've got at max a 2800w load and either 1 or two power supplies will feed it.    Two power supplies will be slightly less efficient than one but you're not pulling 5600w.
If you could, answer the questions above on the number of POE devices you've got and we can work a solution to solve the power to the switch and to your nodes.
You've got a lot of expensive, quality gear and the best solution isn't always to double up and re-buy what you've got.
I am going to recommend a metered PDU so that you can watch the amperage as when you approach the limit of what your wires can haul, you need to pay attention to the national electric code.
If you can PM me, do.

  • Graphics card question for Remotefx

Hello, I would like to run anywhere from 24-30 vms in hyper-v with remotefx.
I read somewhere there was a gpu limitation with remotefx for up to 12 vms per graphics card while using remotefx.
Is this true?  If I wanted to run 24-30 vms in hyper-v I would need at least 2 graphics cards?
    Any help is much appreciated
Also is there anyone out there who had success using a r9 280x or gtx 770 graphics card for remotefx?  I'm trying to decide which of these two to buy

It's hard to imagine I'd be the first or one of many, much time has passed since I've found all of these different individuals who have since created these posts/blogs/youtubevlogs with casual googling:
In all of these examples you will read or watch different indivuduals use consumer grade graphics cards with remotefx:
    http://2008release2en.blogspot.com/2011/04/remotefx-gef... -
    gtx 465
    http://www.itinthedatacenter.com/wordpress/?p=267 -
    gtx 650
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2011/01/... -
gtx 480 (this guy even talks about playing games with it such as Fallout 3, Blur, Torchlight, Civilization V, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Street Fighter IV)
Here is a video of someone on youtube playing halo 2 with his older consumer graphics card with remotefx:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYiLGxfZRTA
All of these are using really old graphics cards, I was really hoping there were more recent consumer grade graphics cards known to work with remotefx.  I feel as if I were to just go buy a gtx 770 4gb it should work like all the older gtx models, but
it would sure be a pita for it not to work and have to return it and pay shipping and handling and the restocking fee only to go and buy another card and repeat this process until I find something that works
Which is why I'm asking on the forum, surely I can't be the only one interested in this
Also in terms of SLI and how well consumer grade graphics cards work, I read somewhere (trying to find the post) that someone was using 2 gtx 465 (2gb each card) sli to run about 30 vms with 125 vram to each host and 1.25 ram and a dual processor.  I'm
desperately trying to find the post because I'm not exactly sure which card it was, gtx 465 or gtx 450.  All I know was it was a consumer grade gtx 400 series card and it has 2gb vram each card.  All vms were playing games on the lowest possible
    settings etc

And this laptop is a gift of my aunt from USA, and I'm living in Viet Nam now. So if yes, can HP Vietnam do the upgrade for me? My aunt's family is very busy so I can't resend my laptop and ask them to return to you.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi:
The only way to upgrade the video card in your notebook is to replace the entire motherboard which would cost as much as buying a new notebook with better graphics.
If you had HP do the upgrade, it would probably cost more than buying 2 notebooks with better graphics than yours.

  • Will this video card and power supply work on my computer? HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop PC

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

It is unlikely that the power supply will fit/work in your HP Pavilion p6213w Desktop Computer. Please consider the Corsiar CX500, CX500M, CX600, and CX600M for your power supply needs. These power supplies are the same physical size as the factory unit and are known to fit and work in most HP full-sized consumer desktop computers.
There is a chance that the GTX 760 and other current generation video cards may not work in your computer. These newer cards typically require the computer to support the most current UEFI standards and many motherboards don't meet this criteria. Please know the return policy on any video card you purchase, in case it doesn't work. If the GTX 760 doesn't work, consider the GTX 650/660 Ti or equivalent AMD graphics card for your graphics card needs.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
