Power view not working using remote sql

Hi
Our Sharepoint 2013 has all it's content databases installed on a sql server 2008 R2
And our BI guys would like to use power view with the data on their SQL 2012 SP1.
How should I proceed with the setup?
At the moment I can't find any powerview integration feature to switch on, how should I do this?
Do I need to install the Reporting Services Add-in for Sharepoint on the sharepoint servers?

PowerView requires SSRS in SharePoint integrated mode. Install SSRS on a SharePoint server in your farm and configure the SSRS Service Instance/Service Application, then try again.

Is Power View Add-In is only available for MS- Office 2013 Professional edition only, I have installed Ms -Office 2013 Standard in one of my office Laptop and try to enable the Power View but I could't see the COM-Add Ins of Power View though I can installed
the Power Query Add Ins .
So, I wonder this feature is only available for Professional edition only . Since , I have used these features in Professional version and try to use similarly in Standard version too but I think there is no such feature.
So is there any alternative solution or any help on this will be good.

CSV to Table - not working using remote agent on unix

Hi,
I am having a File to SQL scenario.
I have used the KM'S
LKM File to SQL
IKM SQL Control Append.
When i execute the interface, i see the data being loaded in the table. This is using local agent on windows.
Now i execute the interface using remote agent on unix machine. the interface runs sucessfully till completion, however i dont see any data being loaded in the table.
If i delete the file and run the interface (using remote agent on unix) it gives an error, so it is picking up the file.
However it does not pick up the data in the file.
Please help its urgent.

I am trying to create a Materialized View as below:

where rownum < 5000 order by employee_id desc ;But while querying the MATERIALIZED VIEW, it did not work successfully as the data did not appear in the accurate order.
I tried to create the same MATERIALIZED VIEW but order by another column (Column Date), it worked successfully and the data appeared in the accurate order.
It means that MATERIALIZED VIEW not work successfully with the first column (id).
Can you please help me in this ?

A few pointers :
1. As has been pointed out, the ROWNUM has been incorrectly placed. ROWNUM values are assigned as rows are fetched from the source before the ORDER BY. You need to ORDER BY first (in a SubQuery) and then ROWNUM afterwards (outside the SubQuery).
2. I wonder why you want only the last 5000 EMPLOYEE_IDs. What if Employee_ID 1 is still an active employee (he is the founder, first employee and CEO ?). There could be very many "low" EMPLOYEE_IDs that are still active.
3. Logically I would expect some filter other than the ROWNUM ... ORDER BY to be used to select candidate rows. Then, an ORDER BY in the CREATE query would be unnecessary.
4. When querying the Materialized View you must explicitly ORDER BY (irrespective of whether you did or did not do an ORDER BY in the CREATE ...)
5. How do you expect to refresh the MV ? Will it always be a COMPLETE Refresh ? Remember that your "5000 employees" filter would likely exclude older employees at the next refresh. If you use some other filter, it should be consistent across all refreshs.

Function name_function may not be used in SQL

Dear forums,
when i compiled my form that contain the function package, i got the error "Function <name_function> may not be used in SQL". But when i execute the function from sql plus, it works smoothly.
What's the solution ?

Hi Salim,
as far as I understand you you try to use a function that is stored in the form. The select statement is worked on the database where your function is not known. You have to create this function on the database as you did it for using in SQLPlus.

Syntax highlighting not working on PL/SQL developer tool

Hello,
Syntax highlighting is not working on PL/SQL developer tool using the beautifier. When I go set Syntax highlighting parameters (from EDIT>PL/SQL Developer Beautifier Options > User Interface> Editor> Syntax Highlighting ) and click apply, the changes are not reflected in SQL code in the SQL window. Other feautures in the beautifier such as Fonts, Window types are working fine.
Please help me with this issue.

Same problem. Am using Firefox 24 (W7x64).
I've tried setting it to use the built-in PDF viewer, to always asking, to using Adobe plugin, to using Nitro plugin.
I changed the pdfjs.disabled in about:config to true but that didn't help.
The plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types was set to

What version of Lomboz are you using? J2EE View was available in Lomboz 2.x releases and is not found in later releases. These olde versions used a lightweight JSP editor based on jasper. Your message looks like it is related to that.
I would recommend upgrading to one of the later releases such as 3.3, which can be found at:

Bootcamp 5.1.5621 - power saving not working

I've this mac: iMac 27 - mid 2010 - 11.3 : S/N CK0390HUDNR - Boot Rom IM112.0057.B01 - EFI 1.8 SMC 1.59F2
With latest bootcamp, power saving not working !
I enable the display power off after 10 minuts
Display power off BUT there's no way to power on !
Apple... any help ?? (hoping some apple tech looking discussions..)

Function 'myfunc' may not be used in SQL Options

I have created a simple function in a packege for use in an update statement. The function is
FUNCTION myfnc(p1 IN t1.c1%TYPE)
RETURN VARCHAR2
IS

RETURN 'A';

RETURN 'B';
END IF;
END myfnc;
I use it in a procedure which exists in the same package as the function as follows
Update t1
set c1 = myfnc(c2);
I am getting the compliation error Function 'myfunc' may not be used in SQL.
There is no db manipulation going on and I have tried using
PRAGMA RESTRICT_REFERENCES (myfnc, WNDS, WNPS, RNDS, RNPS);
but to no avail.
One other thing is that I thought this was compiling OK but then I decided to put the function in the package specification so I could unit test it using a db call. Now if I drop and recreate the package without the declaration in the specification the compile error still occurs. Perhaps that's my mind playing tricks but maybe there is something here I am not aware of.
Any suggestions?

Although it's allowed to say
Update t1
set c1 = local_var;in a package, where local_var is not defined outside of the procedure, let alone the package, and
although it's legal to say:
local_var = myfnc (some_other_var); inside the package where myfnc is a private function (included in the package body, but not in the package header), still
it is not legal to say:
Update t1
set c1 = myfnc (c2); If there is a problem with putting myfnc in the package header (for example, you don't want people calling it directly, for some reason), you can make it a stand-alone function, like Someoneelse did, or put in a different package, and give the owner of your first package (and no one else) EXECUTE privileges on it.
As William pointed out, if myfnc is really this simple, you might not need a function at all.

Have used large format, but using the 'burn' software, I am not getting seamless video quality on DVD even though I am burning at 2* speed. Any ideas? Do I need better software? Or is there a problem with the SuperDrive?
