Powerbook G4 4 Display in cube? pattern.

While using my Powerbook G4 the screen abruptly went to this:
I have tried to restart it severl times and each time I get the same pattern. Any help would be great

I have the same problem with my PowerBook G4/1.25GHz. Everything was going well then the display went wonky this morning showing the crappy display seen below.
As an ugly workaround to make the screen more useable you can download DarkAdaptedand turn down the red channel to 30% or less. On my PowerBook the red channel is the messed-up one. If I use DarkAdapted and crank-up blue channel the display is fine, if I crank-up the green channel and that's fine but crank-up the red channel and it's terrible.
This seems to be a widespread problem with the Powerbook Aluminum Display models. Would be nice if Apple would own up to it and fix this for us. Otherwise my PowerBook works pretty well.

DL Powerbook horizontal lines become cross-hatch pattern

I'm experiencing the same horizontal line issue as many others have reported.
I decided to try changing the number of colors my diplay uses from millions to thousands. After doing this, I notice a cross-hatch or regular little squares pattern instead of horizontal lines. It is epecially obvious on light grays such as the gray behind "Apple Discussions" at the top of this web page.
When I use the digital color meter app with millions of colors, the gray I'm talking about is one uniform 88.6% in RGB, but when I change to thousands, a regular pattern of 90.6% and 87.1% RGB pops out. And, when I move the window around the desktop, the pattern of dark and light grays changes, but always from one obviously regular pattern to another.
When I do the same changes and measurements on my old 17" cinema display hooked up to a powermac G4, the RGB numbers are approximately the same, but there is no (easily recognizable) regular pattern. So instead of looking like a cross-hatch or a bunch of little squares or whatever, it just looks gray. With thousands of colors, my new powerbook chooses to draw a regular pattern in a solid color, while my old powermac doesn't and the pattern it chooses depends on the window's position on the screen.
I don't know if it means anything, but it's clearly a difference in color display between a cinema display with no horizontal lines and a new powerbook with horizontal lines.
But, this doesn't work in millions of colors. The DCM tells me there are no color differences in the light gray, even though my eye can clearly see horizontal lines.
Any thoughts?

You're quite right in this description.
I noticed the sort of textured look on the screen even before I noticed the lines. It's kind of like the texture of a polo tshirt only very subtle and finely detailed.

Navigational Attribute data is not display in Cube level and reporting

Iam facing a problem like,I created Navigational attribute and I selected that navigational attribute in cube level also but data is not display in cube level.

Yes after making that particular attribute as a navigational attribute I loaded data in master data tables.
How to run Attribute change run?can u give me steps

Powerbook G4 12 " display is low res and faint

Dear Gurus of such things,
My Powerbook G4 12" display goes into some kind of low res and faint display after restarting. After days of this, it will suddenly become high res and clear again, for no reason that I can tell. It also recovers after my Powerbook has been connected to a projector.
Is there some way to fix this poor display after restarting without connecting it to a projector?

Question: actual dimensions of PowerBook vs iMac display

If anyone knows:
what's the actual dimensions (W x H) of the PowerBook 15.2" display versus the old Flat Panel iMac 15.0" display?
The 15" Powerbook is listed at 1280x864 and the 15" iMac is listed at 1024x768. The ratio is 1.5 to 1 versus 1.33 to 1.
Does anyone know the dimensions in inches of the two?

My screen just locked up and displayed the following pattern. Any ideas why?

My computer went to sleep and when I awoke it and opened up safari browser, the screen locked up and displayed the attached pattern on my screen. I could still use the mouse but couldn't click on anything. I had to reboot.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

If it will repeat after restart - hardware problems. Most probably memory.

Using 02/03 PowerBook as supplementary display for MacBook Pro (original)

A friend recently mentioned that i might be able to use my old powerbook as a supplementary display for the newest addition to my Mac family.

Display and Edit Patterns in XML Tags

Using LiveCycle E2 V9.
The display and or Edit Patterns are not reflected in the XML of a submitted form.
While these display properly on the Adobe form on-screen, e.g.
$150,000.00 when the fields are are submitted the XML tag as reflects 150000.000000
Please advise whether there is something that I am doing incorrectly and or a fix for this?

Formatted displays for numbers is never the same as the actual field value. This approach allows a user to see a formatted numeric value but the data remains as a number in floating point, integer, or binary value for further calculations as a number. If this were to change, then one would need to parse the numeric value as a character string back to a numeric value before performing any calculation.
There are specific forums for LiveCycle Designer.

Mating the G4 with an LED 24" : will it be an acceptable resolution, on par with that of the previous generation LCD displays (for example, the 23" Apple Cinema)?
You're likely better off with a different display.

do I have to go through complicated conversions and lossy resolution with a 23" LCD display?
For best results, pick one with a DVI connection and an optimum resolution of 1600x1200 or smaller.

I didn't see the thread here yet on what many describe as the "Horizontal Lines" problem on the new 15" HD Powerbook G4s.

As soon as I booted my machine I noticed the display didn't quite look right. I compared it to an previous model and there was a noticable difference.
Apparently Apple Support is aware of the issue and is accepting returns/repair.

Powerbook G3 screen display hinge won't stay open

Does anyone know how to tighten the hinge on the display screen?
Once open it just flops open 180 degrees all the way, even with the keyboard.

Unfortunately there is no adjustment for the hinges/clutches; replacement is the only remedy.

No, it's not possible to use your PowerBook display as an external display for another computer.

Display yellow-lined pattern

A few days ago a yellow vertical lined pattern appeared & covers my entire display. I can highlight areas of it & lighten them, but can't get them to disappear. I tried different color settings, display settings, and resetting the PRAM but nothing has worked.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

I have a similar problem, although the yellow doesn't cover the entire screen. There is a vertical band about 4 inches wide that consistently shows up on "some" windows. Most often it shows up on the tops of windows, but also adds some blue distortion to photos, but not HTML or word docs. The yellow band overlays a blue band that is wider and often "ghosts" the edges of safari/finder windows.
When i took a screen shot of the problem, it did not show up.
Resetting the PRAM doesn't help.
Is there any other trouble shooting I should do before I schedule a "genius" bar appt.

My report is not displaying the data if cube does't have data in perticulear daily bucket(0calday)
Say my cube has
10/6/2008 -- 10

then my report is showimg only these values in couloumn (0calday) ....
but i want to see all the daily buckets even cube dosn't have data (this example 12/6/2008) ...
I am giving the date range in report selection screen 10/6/2008 to 13/6/2008 ...

Such issues can be caused by margin or padding settings that depend on the font-size, but I'm not seeing any such CSS rules and increasing the font-size doesn't cause any problems.
Try to the reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)

Powerbook upgrades and Display advice????

Hi there everyone,
I've got two question's, as with everything else i've asked, these boards have always helped me.
The First One.
I've Got a 1.33Ghz PBook, It has never failed me, making the switch was the best thing i ever did, the only problem with it now, which isn't a problem, it just doesn't do what i want it to, by that i mean run the new Final cut express HD. everything in the powerbook is the same as it was when it came out of the Apple Factory (60gb HDD, 256mb Ram, 64mb Graphics, etc) is it worth putting in a 1gb Ram stick, the latest OS, to use the FCEHD software, i know it's not the fastest computer to edit on, but i'm going to be getting a 20-inch iMac when the new Cat comes out, but i still won't to be able to edit on the move as good as possible, i'm not going to be buying a MB or MBP, nothing against them i just feel my powerbook can do the job i want fine hopefully, what do you think.
Any experiences or advice please comment?
The Second Question.
Display's, this is a tough one. i've looked around, the Dell's and Samsung screens keep popping up. But the problem i'm having, is i don't won't just a monitor, i know they can be used as TV screens in a sense aswell. but for my bedroom i haven't got the room for a TV and a monitor . I've found an LCD Samsung R74 26inch ( Samsung uk Website) For the PS3 when it's released. It's the Perfect size for my room , plus can be used as a monitor, will this work with my Powerbook i know the quality won't be as good as a dedicated monitor but for movie editing i think it would be perfect, all that screen real estate.
So with my Powerbook maxed out do you think this setup would work??
Any help, or anyone with a similar setup, give me some tips or advice, i'm not that up on all LCD tv's VS LCD monitors.

Regarding memory, you might want to look at your activity monitor. It's located on your hard drive in applications/utilities. Bring it up, choose system memory, and look at page ins/outs. Page outs are what the system does when it doesn't have enough memory and pages memory to the hard disk to make room in memory for other things. If page outs are 10% of page ins, or greater, then you can use more memory. The numbers reset when you reboot, so the relative size of the numbers doesn't mean anything.
If you decide to get more RAM, look at the RAM manufacturer recommended Crucial, Kingston (not their valueram), or Samsung memory. The PB architecture varies memory voltage to help manage power and heat, and not all brands of memory can work with this.
