Powerbook G4 compatibility with a Conceptronic CSM3PL media player?

does anyone have any experience of using the above Conceptronic CSM3PL with an older Mac? I have been given this a christmas present, and need to find out if its functional or not!
if anyone can suggest if its possible to make it functional with a Mac, that would be really kind!
best regards and many thanks

Unless Conceptronic makes Mac drivers then probably not.

    I tried posting a question but it did not allow me so I am going to try posting it here. I need some help but not sure where to go to post the questions or what e-mail address I can use to e-mail the appropiate place to get help so if you can help me out that would be great.
    Problem 1. I won a ITunes gift card recently and set up a account and downloaded some music. Now the I just learned the file type cannot be played through Realplayer or Windows Media Player that are on my desktop nor can the tracks be put on to my MP3 player. I have deauthorized my computer and still no luck. Can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do so I can do what I mentioned above? If so what?
    Problem 2 - If there is no way to covert the music who do I get contact and how to go about getting a refund for the tracks purchased.
    Problem 3 - Sorta linked with #2 Once I get my refund applied to my account is there away for me to cancel my account and or transfer it to a person that does have a IPOD or is able to play Itumes files on their desktop?
    Thanxs in advance.

  • Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra stops working with XP following Windows Media Player 11 Beta Installat

    Yesterday I was very pleased to find that my Creative Zen Xtra (model DAP-HD00) portable media player is a PlaysForSure capable device. Creative Labs, on November 9, 2005, released the Creative Zen Xtra PlaysForSure Firmware v2.0.03. I installed this firmware (I had to install the Creative ZenJukebox Driver v.30.03 first to get Windows to recognize the device). Once the firmware was upgraded, Windows began recognizing the Zen Xtra as a MTP device and life was good. I was able to synchronize it with both Napster To Go and Windows Media Player 0.
    After this, I went ahead and installed Windows Media Player Beta, which I just downloaded yesterday as well.
    From a functional standpoint, WMP seems to run just fine. However, when I connected the Creative Zen Xtra (with its PlaysForSure firmware), Windows redetected the hardware. It first showed "Creative Jukebox Zen Xtra" in the tooltip, followed by "MTP Device" in the new hardware tooltip. Finally, Windows announced that there was a problem installing my new hardware and that it may not work properly.
    Sure enough, when I went into Device Manager, my Zen Xtra was showing as an MTP Device with an exclamation point on it. More specifically, it specified the status of, "This device cannot start (Code 0)."
    Prior to the installation of Windows Media Player, the Creative Zen Xtra showed in device manager with the following characteristics under the heading "Windows Portable Devices":
    Name: NOMAD Jukebox Zen XtraDriver Version: 5.2.0.0 dated 8/30/2004Digitally Signed by Microsoft Windows Component Publisher
    Driver File Details:C:\Windows\system32\wpdusb.sys - v5.2.3802.3802 built by dnsrv(bld4act)
    Windows Media Player changed this to the following (the device now shows up under "Portable Devices"):
    Name: MTP DeviceDriver Version: 5.2.5326.4762 dated 2/22/2006Digitally Signed by Microsoft Windows Component Publisher
    Driver File Details:C:\Windows\system32\wpdusb.sys - v5.2.5358.4827 (WMP_.060509-2009)C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\wudfrd.sys - v6.0.5348.0(winmain(wmbla).0604-339)
    The file wudfrd.sys is NOT digitally signed in this case.
    As of now, my Zen Xtra is completely unusable on this system, and I need to sync it with my laptop for the time being, which still has WMP 0 installed on it.
    Is this a bug with WMP beta? Is it a problem with my firmware? Since this is PlaysForSure compliant firmware, and it worked flawlessly with Napster and WMP 0 (before the MTP driver was updated), it would seem to be a WMP beta issue. I'd like to hear more official confirmation on the subject, however.
    Some general details about my system are:
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2Verified GENUINE Microsoft operating system using Genuine Advantage ValidationIntel Pentium 4 CPU 3.2 GHz, Hyper-Threaded processor2.00 GB RAM
    Windows Media Player Version: .0.5358.4827Napster Version: 3.6.0.7 (US)
    Any recommendations? Fixes? Some have suggested rolling back the WMP installation, but I would like to consider this option only as an absolute last resort.
    Best regards,Matt

    Ok, this worked out accidentally - but happily
    I first installed the driver - not the media source - but the driver for the device.
    After that the windows device manager yellow sign disappeared - apparently the device driver was registered by windows.
    Then I Installed Mediasource 5 - the installation went thru fine.
    Does anyone have any recommended updates to install, please also advise what benefits.
    Thanks.

  • Problems with Ipod and Windows Media Player PLEASE HELP

    Ok i am not sure if this is the correct forum or not but i am having a problem. I have a Windows computer (Yes a windows computer please dont everyone yell at me) and i have a new ipod 30 gig video. Ok well when i put itunes on it changes all my music on my computer gets changed to AAC format and i cannot play music in windows media player. Ok well that is not my big issue. I make videos for church using windows movie maker and i cannot import music because nothing windows can recognize Itunes format which is AAC. well is there anyway so i can use itunes and still use WIndows Media Player and Windows Movie Maker... Any info will be greatly appreciated. THANKS ALL

    I believe Quicktime Pro (which is available for Windoze) is capable of opening any WMP files and then you just export it as iPod format. That is how I get video onto the iPod. The Music and Videos all can be placed onto your iPod through iTunes.
    So, if you are creating videos in your program, and want them on your iPod, then that is how you can do it.
    Videos on your iPod have nothing to do with the formatting of your music. But, as the earlier post stated, change your prefs in iTunes to import as MP3. But, your videos HAVE to be in MP4 or M4V format to work on the iPod.
    Good luck... and I'm a j3susfreak too

  • Listening to Ipod Shuffle with Windows or other media player

    Is there any way to listen to an Ipod Shuffle through any computer without the use of the Itunes software, like through Windows Media Player, Real player or Quicktime, simply by attaching the shuffle to the dock and usb port as a "removable hardware device?" I would also like to know why some downloaded songs stop in the middle of them and it quickly skips onto the next track/song? What is up with that? It's quite annoying.

    Not with the iPod Shuffle dock, no.
    iPods were designed to work w/ iTunes as an integrated hardware/software system. Maybe other, bigger, pods will do what you want, but the shuffle dock can only sync w/ the comp (exchange data) and charge the pod, it does not provide an audio connection to the comp via USB.
    That said, if you use the appropriate cable w/ a 1/8" plug to connect a Shuffle to a comp, powered speakers, or stereo system, the pod will function as a music player just fine, but it will not charge while connected in that way.
    When a Shuffle is in its dock and connected to a comp, if you 'play' its displayed contents in iTunes, the comp is actually playing the music files that reside on its hard drive, not the music files on the pod.
    Regarding your 'skipping' song downloads, I suspect that the files were not fully downloaded. Is it always the same songs that don't finish and skip to the next song? Where were they downloaded from?

  • Problems with FLVs and personal media player

    We've created our own media player that will handle FLVs, SWF
    and MP3 files. Its in the library as a linked item and we wrote a
    class to handle everything for it. First we started coding for the
    FLVs (not getting to the other 2 yet) and we're having problems
    with them. Sometimes the FLV won't load at all, sometimes it will
    stop about 2 to 3 seconds into the FLV and won't play anymore, and
    100% of the time, if we go to a new frame (this is for CBT) and
    load another FLV it won't show up at all. While IN flash, it will
    load the first FLV, but when running it as a SWF or Published EXE,
    its "sketchy" about loading even the first FLV.
    the information is pulled from an XML file that has what file
    it is, the position on the screen, etc. The FLV lives in the same
    directory as the SWF file does as well.
    To load in the mediaPlayer and FLV file we use this:
    content_mc.addChild(new mediaPlayer(mediaFile, myType,
    mediaX, mediaY));
    the content_mc is an empty movie clip that just sits on the
    stage so we can go through and erase all the children for the next
    frame:
    var mcNumChildren:uint = content_mc.numChildren;
    for(var c:uint=0; c<mcNumChildren; c++) {
    content_mc.removeChildAt(0);
    I've attached the class for the mediaPlayer linked library
    item.
    does anyone know why this is giving me problems? we've had
    everyone here look at it, and we just can't figure it out!

    Unable to open wmv files using Lion.  Windows media player doesn't work.  Are there any suggestions.
    Thanks

    macfriedchikkin's reply would make sense to you if you were trying to open a camera, but if you are trying to view streming media from a web site that is a different story. It helps to be very specific about what you are tyring to do on these forums.
    I belive you would go into Firefox Preferences menu and tell it  to use VLC as the application to play WMV files. I'm still running Tiger,  however, so I can't tell you if it the latest version works wel that way. The Tiger version doesn't seem to, but a lot may have changed since then. (I'm only just getting around to installing Leopard next week now that there are too may apps I can't run on Tiger. ) Perhaps someone else on this forum can better help you set  up the player in your browser.
    Or you can cut out the middleman and give VLC the direct video URL:
    Choose Open File from the File menu and paste in the URL of the video, say,
    http://azul.streamguys.com/auduboncal-1
    or http://azul.streamguys.com/auduboncal-2
    Your media should play this way. Dont forget to save the playlist for later.
    I'l keep investigating on my end, and yes, I'm also  encouraging certain people who are streaming windows media in to switching to a different format

  • Choosing a partition map for an external usb, to be used with an external tv/media player

    hi there,
    i was wondering if the type of partition map makes a difference if I am to transfer movies from my mac onto a usb, which will then slot into the usb slot on my samsung tv, which has a medial player built in ?
    I am assuming that these media players and other devices similar, can only play on fat32 and not hfs ?
    many thanks

    Correct, they can generally only read FAT32. FAT32, HFS+, NTFS, Ext4, etc. are not partition maps, rather they are different file systems. The partition map or type divides a physical disk into logical units called partitions, which then typically are formatted into a file system. Apple gives us a choice of 3 partition types; GUID, Apple Partition Map and Master Boot Record (MBR). If you need to boot up an Intel Mac from a drive, it must have GUID partitioning. If you must boot up a non-Intel OSX Mac, it must have an Apple Partition Map. If you need to boot up a MICROSOFT Windows machine, It must have a MBR partitioning.
    If all you are using the USB thumb drive for is file transfer to non-Apple devices, the most compatible choice is MBR partition with FAT32 file system, although most devices seem to work just fine with GUID partition and FAT32 around my house.

  • Using WRT610N / WUSB600N with WD TV Live Media Player - please help

     It's quite incredible, but I am so lost here... spent 6 hours with WD and Linksys tech support online... and still no answers.
     Running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) with WD TV Live, which has the Linksys WUSB600 dual-band wireless-N USB adapter plugged in. My PC has no user accounts / passwords so there are ni profiles.
     I followed the setup / installation instructions from this link:
    http://community.wdc.com/t5/Networking/Enable-Network-Shares-on-WD-TV-Live-amp-Windows-7-amp-Vista-3...
    Worked like a charm - for 4 days.
    Earlier today, I decided to "upgrade" my old Linksys WRT300N router to the WRT610N new one, so that I can have better streaming with the dual-band. Here is the bottom line: When I now go to "shared networks", I only see the router itself listed. There are no more network shares foldere/directories that were working perfectly with WRT300N. So I decided to "go back" to the WRT300N, and guess what, the network shares dissapeared there also. The WRT300N router is not shown.
    I have tried (and not limited to the following):
    Factory reset my WD HD Live and re-setup from scratch
    re-created the network share folders on the PC re-set advanced sharing settings / media streaming / sharing parameters, etc...
    Uninstalled / re-installed the ETHERNET drivers on my PC REPLACED the WRT610N router with another one (swaped at the store I bought yesterday)
    Disabled Windows 7 firewall/ Kaspersky 2010 antivirus and buit-in firewall of WRT610N
    tried Auto login to network share > On / Off, cleared cache...
    and many other things and still no go
    I do know that the WRT610N is seen by WD HD Live because I am able to stream Youtube videos without a problem and I am able to ping 192.168.0.103 (WD HD Live) from my PC. Also, . the WDTV Live icon is displayed under Network / Media Devices. My Linksys WRT610N is displayed under Network / Network Infrastructure.
    I am at a loss of words.... why would it work fine for 4 days, then when I try to change the router.... it breaks everything. Any ideas?!?!?

    I would advise you to use Media Servers through any of the free media server software out there, until WD comes with a fix for Network Sharing. I tried everything to get Network Sharing work on the WD TV Live (with Windows XP), but to no avail. Sometimes, it would work without any hitch and I could actually finish watching a movie or two in a row. But most times it would just disconnect or even not see my WinXP machine.
    But through Media Servers I haven't had any issues so far and it is quite easy to set up. Just install a media server software on your PC, add some folders to it and you are ready to go. I, myself, use TVersity (the free version) and it works fine. Another free one is Wild Media Server. Just to name a few.
    Keep in mind to disable transcoding in the media server software, as WD TV Live can render most of the common formats itself (see its supported formats).
    The WRT610N also has a built-in media server that turns the USB drive attached to it into a NAS. You will need to turn on uPnP.
    So you could use that too either instead of or along with the media server running on your PC.

  • No Audio ONLY with FF. Downloaded Media Player for FF...same

    No audio from FF. Able to get audio from HD applications ie. Pro Tools LE & Sound Forge that doesnt require a FF browser.

    This is a very long and confusing post, to say the least
    You may want to have a look at these articles to familiarize with your new Mac:
    http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/
    http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/
    Regarding your more immediate problem, having a better idea of what you're trying to use is required before we can give you meaningful advice.
    First of all, what is on the discs you are trying to use? If they are commercial discs, they must have a label of some kind that indicates what are are.
    Then, when your insert a disc in your MacBook Pro's optical drive, what happens? Do you see a disc icon appear on your Desktop?

  • Lunch video stream uri in wp8.1 with media player

    hello every one,
    i have a problem with opening the default media player, to play a video (a stream uri from youtube) in widows phone 8.1
    when i was write to windows phone 8.0 i used
    MediaPlayerLauncher mediaPlayerLauncher = new MediaPlayerLauncher();
    mediaPlayerLauncher.Show();
    and now i used (wp8.1)  :
    bool success = await Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync(_videoUrl, options);
    that open  IE file download with a open/save dialog.
    if i click on open it's open the windows media player and play the video as i wanted
    how can i skip the save file dialog and automatically open the windows media player with my youtube stream uri?
    thanks a lot,
    Or yaacov

    Hi,
    >>that open  IE file download with a open/save dialog
    In WP Runtime,
    Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync is the only way to play supported video using default media player:
    // The URI to launch
    var uri = new Uri(@"MICROSOFTVIDEO://www.example.com/testFile.wmv");
    // Launch the URI with a warning prompt
    var success = await Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync(uri);
    >>how can i skip the save file dialog and automatically open the windows media player with my youtube streamuri?
    Because this question is related to the function of this video site, I would suggest you referring to its official API site:

  • (no) synchronizing with Media Player

    There I was, happily copying my CD's to the Zen Touch I bought in 2005, with the help of Media Player 0. Then Media Player got there and I installed it. Result? No more happy copying. Just a message that synchronization was impossible. So I re?nstalled MP 0. But now I constantly get the message that there is an updat for MP 0. I know. And it would be nice to use it. But I do want to put music on the Zen. I called Creative and they said that Microsoft was working on a patch. Were they? I tried to contact them in various ways, but got nowhere. So?I never found out if there is a patch. Does anybody know about a patch to solve this problem??

    Just a general error without explanation.
    This evening I found the problem: WMP11 writes some info on the card to recognize it (together with the IMEI).
    Because I copied the contents of the card the info was not correct with the new phone. After deleting all the contents of the card and only copying back my photos and other files I was able to synchronize again...
