Hi,
I've read through a lot of these posts and various other places on the web, and I have not found a match like this, so I figured I better ask.
I have a powerbook 1.5ghz, 1GB ram, 9GB disk space free. A Lacie External Firewire drive. The lacie has 465GB. I have a Leopard family disc.
note: powerbook i have had since 2004, it has run great, no problems ever.
before I bit the bullet and switch my machine over to Leopard, I decided to install it on the external hdd. To test all apps work first.
I used disk utility to create 3 partiions. 155gb each. the partitions are formatted for 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'
Picked APM , info for each of these says 'bootable: yes', partition type: apple_hfs'..
As a test to make sure these partions were bootable ( because my other drive mybook was not), I restored the Leopard DVD Install to one of the partitions. Restarted my machine, held down the 'option' key and it booted into the installer with no problems.
also, as an additional attempt at 'proof', when I restarted my powerbook with the 'option' key held down, I could see all the partitions as options to reboot (including my hdd, and the dvd install disc in the drive). I picked the driver i restored the DVD install to.
I then ran the installer , and when it asked where to install I selected the drive called 'Jake'. And it went off and installed it - seemed to work fine, about an hour later, it said 'need to restart', i let it restart.
when it started back up the screen with the apple and that spinning 'dial' ? started, and it just keeps on doing that.. forever.. and goes nowhere.
So, that's where I am at. I have re-installed 2 times. and it just sits there.
the second time I re-installed, on 'command' key down scren I used the 'Install DVD' , got the same results.
any body have this happen before? Or any ideas as to what's going on?

Hi Thomas Bryant;
What if he was attempting to do an Archive & Install that would really run him out of space. He really needs to get in there and clean out some files. I would suggest music, movies and photos.

Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.

Did you install Lion on an empty partition, or did you upgrade Snow Leopard? If you upgraded, I'd not recommend erasing it, since your backups are apparently gone. It's doubtful Snow Leopard will recognize them.
It's not just backups on the drive either, there are other important things on there, so why won't they show?
Mixing Time Machine backups and other data is not a good idea. See #3 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. It sounds like the whole disk is corrupted.
I just really don't understand how this happened. Could it not be an issue with WD because they haven't issued firmware to support Lion yet?
If this is a simple external HD, connected by USB or FireWire, no, unless you installed some of WD's software on it. That shouldn't prevent it from being seen at all, but anything's possible.

here are some nice 'Myths and Facts' about Intel Macs and BootCamp http://refit.sourceforge.net/myths/
Bottom line: while not exactly needed for installing Windows on an Intel-based Mac, the BootCamp Assistant 'streamlines' the process with a nice GUI (no need for 'cryptic' Terminal commands).
Mac OSX as of now (10.5 Leopard and above) plus the uptodate firmware for Intel-Macs already include everything needed to install and boot Windows.
Deleting or reformating an OSX partition does not affect the Windows partition.
However a repartitioning of course does, if the Windows partition is on the same harddisk.
But even a repartitioning of any other harddisk (ones that not have the Windows partition on them) does not affect the Windows partition.
Did that myself when adding/upgrading the harddisks in my Mac Pro.
Nonetheless, when 'fumbling' with harddisks and partition structure I always have backups of my important files at hand.

Look to the app developer to provide that information when browsing the iTunes Store.
The iPod Touch still works, so what's your problem with it? It still works with older apps, it still does what it's intended to do.
If you aren't happy then sell it and buy a new one.

You don't need to have Lightroom 3 and 4 installed on your computer to install Lightroom 5. Just install Lightroom 5 and input your serial number for 3 in the previous version box and your serial number for 5 in the upgrade box.

No, it is not possible. When upgrading the iOS on the phone, the only one you can install is the latest version, which for the iPhone 4 is iOS 7.0.4.

Well, I refuse to sign up to pay Adobe a monthly tribute for life too, but that doesn't mean we are limited to CS3.
I'm staying with CS6.
Adobe still sells a perpetual-license to Photoshop CS6 without the subscription model, but it's $700 for the Standard version and a cool $1,000 for the Extended version.
You haven't mentioned your platform, Macintosh or Windows, so make sure CS3 or any other obsolete version you buy actually runs on a modern operating system.

Guys, I applied ATG.PF.H.RUP4. In postinstall steps it is mentioned,Upgrading Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 with Oracle Applications 11i(doc-271148.1)
which says after applying patch 4038964 do the following--
AUTOCONFIG ENABLED APPLICATIONS ENVIRONMENT
If the Oracle E-Business Suite configuration files are maintained using the AutoConfig infrastructure, proceed with the following:
1. Run the AutoConfig utility.
2. Go to [JAVA_TOP].
3. Run the unzip -l appsborg2.zip | grep 9.0.4 command. If there is a file named as .xdkjava_version_9.0.4.0.0_production, which indicates that XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 is installed correctly as part of appsborg2.zip. Otherwise, run ADAdmin to regenerate the appsborg2.zip file.
4. Restart the application tier server processes such that the new version of Oracle XML Parser for Java will take effect.
but actually the patch is already applied- 4038964. How do i verify if i need to do these steps or not.
The xmlparserv2-904.zip file is already there in wrapper.classpath. of jserv.properties, forms.properties. So i think i dont need to do these steps.

IPad2: After upgrad to iOS 8, video output lost left and right side

I have a cable for my iPad2, once plugged in the bottom slot, it outputs video to TV Component port and audio to my amplifier. It's been working for years. After iOS 8 upgrade, I notice the video output lost left and right side. It's like
