Powering up my N95 8GB error Message

Everytime my N95 8GB powers on I get a error message stating that there is "untrusted software on my phone", yet it tries to install something everytime.
I ahve done a hard re-set, deleted all applications & also done a full phone scan using kaspersky mobile for any viruses, but nothing can be found.
The exact message is "Untrusted Software found on Mass memory, to install go to application manager" - but when I go to app Mgr there is nothing there?
Anyone help please.
Thanking you in advance

  • N95 8GB - incoming message tone

A big frstration with my N95 8GB is that when you receive a text or MMS you get one notifying tone, then nothing. Does anyone know if the N95 has the facility to repeat tones to remind you that there's a message waiting. If so, how do you switch it on?
    Thanks

by default incomming messeges has the tones which rings only one time as per messeges tones are created for short warn.. if u want to ring it long then only change the messege tone with a long one. and by default it can´t b repeat.. or only if u have  light sensor on ur mobile which can remind u for unlimited time of period of a recieved msgs.

  • N95 - odd error message

I have an N95 with Ver 20.0.015, and in the last day or so I have been getting an odd error message on start up - can someone suggest what is going on?
Very soon after turning on, the system says Installing... and then a message come up saying 'Untrusted software found on memory. To install, go to Application Manager'
I have looked at Appl Mgr, and there is an entry 'e14a45b8.sis' that says Not Installed, which is, I suspect, the guilty party.
Is this likely to be the problem, and does anyone know why I should not Remove this?

    Hi jcaswell
v20.0.015 seems more intolerant of older applications than previous versions. In my case there was an eight numeral .sis on my memory card which was "Not installed" and produced this message at every start-up. Fortunately 'Googling" established that this was early Nokia "Podcasting" application which as it is now part of the firmware, could safely be deleted; now I no longer get this message on start-up. In Application Manager if you click on this application > options, you should be able to get more information about it's identity.

  • Can't send text message from N95 8GB

I suddenly cannot send anymore text message from my N95 8GB.
"Message cannot be sent" - "Verify network settings" - that's what I get.
    Can anyone help? thx.

    Hi sonia78,
Do you have enough credit/balance to send texts?
Have you checked the Message Centre number? Contact your service provider to obtain the number, and then update it in Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Text message -> Message Centres.
Did you try a SIM from another Service provider? If the new one works, contact your service provider for help.
You can try these steps one by one, if the steps above do not help:
    1. Turn off your phone, leave your battery and SIM out for 5-10minutes and put everything back in and turn it on .
    2. Restore factory settings: type *#7780# at the standby screen. Enter 12345 for the security code or the one you've changed it to.
Before you try the next two steps, backup your phone memory using PC Suite.
    3. Soft reset: This will clean up your phone memory. All user data, applications etc stored in the phone memory will be destroyed. Type *#7370#. Enter the security code when prompted
    4. Hard reset: This is the last resort. Turn off your phone, press and hold down these keys: 3, * and the call (Green) button. Turn on your phone without releasing them. Leave the keys only after you see the region selection screen.
    5. Reinstall the firmware: Download and install the latest Nokia Software Updater from the Nokia website. Connect to the internet, connect your phone to the PC and run NSU. Follow on-screen instructions carefully. Make sure you have a full battery and a stable PC before you proceed.

  • N95 update - error 1720 message. Any ideas??

When I try and download the N95 update, i get a message saying 'Error 1720. There is a problem with the windows installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom action Kill_process script error -2147023898,: line 5 column 1,.'
I have no idea what this means, or how to fix it. Can anyone help??
    Thanks,

Hi, what version of NSU can you not remove?
I am having same problems (XP user), so frustrating, it's NSU v1.4.32en I cannot remove, when I try and uninstall it I get the message 'This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.' and when I try and install the latest version I get the message 'Missing Software Components. Critical software components are missing. Please reinstall.' then Error 1720.....
Anyway I followed some suggestions, notably uninstalling all trace of Nokia programs (PC Suite & N Series PC Suite) then searching my PC for any Nokia .msi files and deleting those too along with all possible Temp files/folders, then I've tried installing lastest NSU again and still get the same result but also get 'Error 1714. The older version of Nokia Software Updater cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.' when trying to run the NSUsetup.msi
I've also just reinstalled N Series PC Suite and the Nokia Nseries Update Manager has been stuck on 'Checking for the latest software versions. Please wait' for the last hour and 10mins!
Luckily I've been able to get hold of a laptop to update my N95 8GB later today, but what happens in the future - I' stuck with never being able to update my phone on my desktop (and only) PC... That would be reason enough not to buy another Nokia N series phone and move to another make after 7+ years of nokias.....
The tech support need to sort this problem out asap before they start losing customers.
Not a trace of old NSU versions available too which is probably all that's needed to repair then update or uninstall v1.4.32 that the problem lies with!

  • Nokia N95 8GB - Mail4Exchange: "System error.Try a...

Good morning. We currently have 3 Nokia N95 8GB within the company that use Mail for exchange 2.3. One of the handsets suddenly started to receive the above error on synchronising. The other 2 handsets are working perfectly and i have done a software upgrade on the handset causing problems and re-installed mail for exchange and done a full synch. But still i am receiving the same error message. Please can you assist as it is causing difficulty for our member of staff who has now lost this facility.

It sounds as if that staff members phone has become corrupt, has he/she installed any files recently that were not approved for use by Nokia?
The only sure way to cure this would be to do a hard reset on the phone and if possible format the 8GB internal memory.
You can back-up important data such as messages and contacts but if at all possible get rid of the other data as by restoring it later you will just re-install the problem.
    Then do this
Try doing a hard reset by following the following steps
1: Back up important data such as contacts, messages etc
    2: Turn off the phone
3: Hold down the star *, green phone and number (3) key
4: Turn the phone back on with these keys held in
5: Wait for the device to start up completely
Restore back-up and try phone again, if the problem is still noticeable take it to your nearest Nokia Repair Centre

  • Swinstsvrui error when switching on N95 8GB

When I switch on my phone (N95 8GB), an application starts to run automatically. Then it says "cannot install the file found on the mass memory". However, this message does not appear when I close Swinstsvrui.exe at startup.
When I look at the mass memory, I cannot find relevant files.
Does anybody know how to kill this error message?

Additionally, I want to mention here that I don't want to reinstall the Symbian software.
Please inform me if you have a solution.

  • ATZ returning ERROR (N95 8GB)

I'm connecting to my N95 8GB via Bluetooth from a laptop running Ubuntu Linux. I had it working fine, but for the last few days whenever I dial out, it seems that the 'ATZ' command in the chat script is returning 'ERROR' instead of 'OK'.
I just can't see any reason for it. I've disabled/re-enabled Bluetooth on both sides, rebooted the phone, rebooted the laptop, turned any connectivity-related services off/on on the phone, but still no joy.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why 'ATZ' might return 'ERROR' on an N95?
    Thanks.
    Ross

OK, ignore that. Thinking a little clearer this morning and it looks like I had inadvertently broke my /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf file at some point. I had the 'rfcomm0' port bound to Channel 1 (Hands-free Audio Gateway), instead of Channel 4 (Dial-up Networking).
Not sure how/when I broke that, but the fact that it was returning 'OK' to my 'AT' commands had me convinced I was still talking to the modem service!
    Sorry for the noise,
    Ross

  • N95 - "Already in use" Error Message

    Hi,
I've only had my N95 for a bit over a week now, and up until a couple of days ago, it was all working great! Then I went to read a text message on my phone and it wouldn't let me open the messages tab (either on the menu OR from standby mode). I can't even open it to check my settings! It keeps coming up with an error message saying "already in use!" I can no longer send OR receive messages. Since I am still able to send and receive phone calls, I assumed it was just the messages. But then I tried to use my camera. The same error message comes up! And for the music player, gallery, etc. I can still access the internet and my contacts, so I haven't lost the use of all the features only some, which I thought was really strange... I've tested my sim card in another phone and it works fine, so I tried my partner's sim card in my phone and it was giving the same error message. So it's definitely the phone... I have done all the different resets, and tried all the troubleshooting suggestions in my manual. Nothing works! Has anyone else come across this with their N95?? If so, please let me know, and also what happened to fix the problem? I can't be without my phone, so if anyone knows how to fix this problem without me having to have my phone sent back to Nokia, please help me! Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Remember to back up your phone data first via pc suite, and if you do re-install the firmware make sure you have a full battery
PLEASE REMEMBER to read all instructions TWICE OVER as you CAN brick your N95 doing this.Message Edited by grayburn on 05-Nov-200711:44 AM
Thanks a million Grayburn - I'll definitely give that a go (very carefully!). Nothing else seems to be working... I'll post an update once I'm done...
    Thanks again

  • Connecting my ipad mini to my camera using the USB camera kit error message 'device is to powerful' keeps popping up.

I am trying to connect my iPad mini to my Samsung camera using the USB camera kit, I keep getting the error message ' device to powerful'. Is there anyway to fix this or do I need to take it back?? The shop assistant in Currys assured me it should work and it wasn't cheap at £25 for a tiny wire! I have read other posts concerning this but they are dated quite a while ago so just wondered what the newest advice was concerning this. Thanks

The camera is drawing too much power for your iPad. This can happen on cameras which charge their batteries using the USB connection. Make sure that you have the camera set to the correct settings for picture transfer - check the documentation that came with the camera.
Note that you can return the USB kit and get the SD card adaptor or get a powered USB hub if you can't get the camera to work any other way.

  • [N95 8Gb] No more MP3 ringtones and message tones....

    Hi,
Last night I cleared my N95 8Gb of all the music and tranferred some new albums with Nokia Music afterwards. Now I'm not able to select any song or sound effect from my music collection as ringtone anymore!!
I can select a song in Music Player and set it as ringtone but I cannot go via settings and browse my MP3's... The same goes for message tones: I'm only able to select the standard **bleep** ringtones and none of the sound effects I uploaded as MP3 using Nokia Music.
I beginning to be amazed at how **bleep** Nokia Music can possibly be: before, everything worked like a charm and I was totally pleased with my N95 8Gb but now I can't even do the most basic things due to this piece of junk that Nokia calls Nokia Music...

I have a similar problem (N95-1). All the songs i have (about 400+) will not show up. When i remove the memory card, all the songs on the phone shows up. Try this fix (I am using the latest firmware).
Navigate to the Home Media App (Main Menu>Tools>Connectivity>Home Media), Share Content: Select Options (Left Softkey), then refresh contents. It will take some time depending on the number of songs, videos and photos you have. After it has finished refreshing, you should be able to select any song from the phone or memory card from within the tones menu.

  • HT1539 Why Do I keep getting an error message telling me "Code redemption is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." whenever I try to redeem my digital copy code for "Oz The Great and Powerful"?

Why Do I keep getting an error message telling me "Code redemption is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." whenever I try to redeem my digital copy code for "Oz The Great and Powerful"?

I had the same problem so I decided to try going to website on the back. (DisneyOzMovieandOffers.com). It will take you to a page that says to redeem code, enter the code that is given to you and click enter. It will give you options of where you would like to download it from. Click iTunes and it will give you the correct code to download the movie from iTunes.
