Powerline/Homeplug Issues with Homehub 5

Hello all,
Having an intensely annoying intermittent issue with Powerline adapters & HH5.
Set up is:
BT Broadband Extender flex connected to HH5 upstairs with a BT Wifi Home Hotspot downstairs (just to increase wifi coverage)
TP Link TL-PA211 Powerline adapter also connected to HH5 upstairs with 2 other TL-PA211s downstairs (1 for Sky demand & 1 for PS3...different rooms)
They have all worked at same time!......but
Intermittently - the PS3 TL-PA211 will stop working & then "re-connect" of its own doing later & the Wifi Hotspot will stop working (no data light either upstairs or downstairs) & then spring into life of its own accord eg. last night it did it overnight!
I have done no end of pairing & unpairing ritruals & full resets to the point where I think I might need a new stair carpet.
I'm now beginning to think there might be an issue with the homehub?
I'm aware of its "smart" capabilities & switching etc.......is there any setting that I need to look at or a re-boot or refresh or anything?
Thanks in advance all!

Would agree with gk406.
Firstly - leave the hub alone.
When you set up a home network system, despite 'out of the box solutions' coming with two adaptors, one to wire via ethernet to the router and another to position wherever, if you connect both systems directly to the router it can cause compatability issues, as both will fight for control of the 'satellite' adaptors to the point they don't know which one to communicate through, so they end up not doing anything. I am guessing the odd disconnections/reconnections is due to Sky taking control of the system - checking for updates etc in the middle of the night, then relinquishing control once having carried out its checks so the other device can reconnect...
Pick one system to use (shouldn't really matter if both 200mb or 500mb systems- though I have a mixture of both so have the 500mb adaptor plugged into the router) though I am thinking the TP Link as they are the most prevalent in your system, and unplug the other. Connect one device (of the chosen system) via ethernet to the router, connect its paired mates and ensure all works as advertised and the boxes you have connected to it can get online. I would check the Skybox under its own settings to confirm it is connected - they can sometime refuse to connect and need to be powered down and back up to let them see the network.  You could also take a note of its IP address to make sure you can see it on the network, then trial download something from On Demand to verify all is OK. If TP Link comes with any software to monitor the adaptors make sure all is up and running.  I guess at this point you could leave the BT system off, to make sure you don't get any odd disconnections overnight.
Once that is verified, connect only one of the other BT devices and check it connects up to the network, and that you can connect to it.
For this step, to save both your legs and carpet, I suggest you do this upstairs next to your router. I tend to get all my powerline adaptors in one room with the router and a laptop, then set them up on a power brick - purely to make sure they all connect to the network and that I can connect to them using the laptop - THEN distribute them around the house, verifying each one in turn connects OK before I move to the next.
Obviously you could do this the other way around, by plugging the BT adaptor into the router and your BT hotspot adaptor downstairs, then just using the two TP adaptors for your sky and PS3 - there shouldn't be any reason for it not too work.
Hope that helps - apologies for length!

  • Major issue on HomeHub 5, confirmed on 2 separate ...

I had a HomeHub 5 that was having the wifi freezing issue but only on one device, for those not aware of the problem it is when a device connects to wifi and works for a specific period of time and then all data will suddenly freeze although wifi is connected with a full signal strength, data transfer can only be resumed by turning the devices wifi off and on again at the sacrifice of any downloads you had going.
I had experimented with wifi channel selection, wifi broadcast mode (802.11ac 1300mbps / 802.11a/n 300mbps) I then performed a factory reset of the Hub which didnt fix the issue and then subsequently formatted and factory reset the MacBook which also didnt solve the issue.
At this point I presumed a faulty Hub so had a new one sent out by BT, I now have the new hub installed and proceded to start some heavy downloading to test the connection and I managed to get it to freeze within 5 minutes thus bringing me to the conclusion that the Hub 5 is having some major issues with its firmware.
The old Hub 5 was on a newer firmware updated at Xmas which ended .1.6 the new one is on the firmware version prior ending .1.4
If I connect my Hub 4 to the Hub 5 and use that as an access point and disable the Hub 5's wireless then the freezing disappears and I can do really heavy downloading with no problems so I know its not a problem with the MacBook's wifi.
Other people have reported similar problems but with iPads and other devices so I know its not a case of me being unlucky.
I know that this is a firmware issue as opposed to a hardware issue because I was fortunate enough to be on the Hub 5 trial and the initial firmware that came on the Hub 5 when it was still in trial was fantastic, really fast to connect and no freezing at all, my freezing issue came near the end of the trial when they rolled out the public release firmware I did report my findings at the time but unfortuantely it was too late for it to be fixed.
I shall do some further experimenting before I return my old Hub 5 to see if setting it up as an access point and using another hub for DHCP hosting still has the same issue, if the wifi works fine with it as an access point then it could potentially lie in the DHCP part if it still exhibits the problem then the problem lies in the wifi part of the firmware.
I shall keep the forum updated with my findings and hopefully the moderators can forward my findings back to the firmware team to get a fix out pronto as it appears quite a few are suffering with this.

To set up an old Hub as an access point these instructions work on Hub versions 2,3,4,5
    >Disable the wifi card on your computer/laptop as you dont want to change settings on master hub by accident.
    >Power on old hub but do not connect to phone line just plug it into the wall and connect an ethernet cable from this to your computer.
    >Navigate to 192.168.1.254 on your browser this will bring up your hub configuration page.
    > Goto Advanced - Firewall - Configuration - Disable.
    > HUB 4 AND 5 ONLY: Goto Advanced - Home network - Smart Setup - Disable.
    > Goto Advanced - Home Network - IP addresses - In the IP address box type 192.168.1.10 and then click on DHCP server disable - apply. (Do both steps then hit apply or you will loose connection and it will be difficult to get back)
    > Now plug the old Hub into the main hub via ethernet or powerline network plugs and voila you have an access point.
At this point you will have 2 seperate wireless networks broadcasting 2 names (ssid) and using 2 different wireless keys, which itself is not a problem just point your devices at the one you want to connect to and it will work, however now would be a good time to set yourself a nice custom SSID and wireless key that you can remember easily and to do this follow instructions below.
To set master Hub goto 192.168.1.254 in your browser
To set slave Hub goto 192.168.1.10 in your browser.
Instructions are the same for both.
Goto advanced - wireless - and now set SSID - Wireless key to a custom choice, if you are using the same SSID and Key for both hubs make sure you set the same security type or devices may not be able to connect to one or the other.
My reccomended set up if you are temporarily substituting the Hub 5 wireless signal with another hub is to set both with the same SSID and Key and then disable the wireless on the Hub 5 until BT issue a firmware fix for the firewall, this will then save you having to set up all your devices again when you choose to use the Hub 5 wireless again, make sure you disable both wireless bands on the Hub 5 when doing this.
    I hope this helps.

  • HELP: SERIOUS ISSUES WITH BILLING

I have had serious issues with BT since joining their service. Without getting into the issues we had with the BT homehub and other things at the start of the contract with them here is what's been happening.
When we joined BT we explained that we wanted a monthly direct debit. Sounds simple enough but apparently not.
I have phoned over 6 times in the last year to change this. It has still not happened. Several times we were told that on the system it said monthly for it to be then taken out quarterly. In July while we were away this happened again. Only as we assumed that as they had informed us it would definitely be on monthly direct debit that it was the money for the whole of the quarter was not there. So when they took the money for a quarterly bill again. We were charged. It has set back other bills as the money had been eaten up by charges for this. As you can imagine we were quite annoyed. This was not our fault and we felt that BT were not capable of holding our account details without taking money they we repeatedly requested not to. I admit we should have kept a closer eye on our bills account but you don't think that a company will repeatedly do this to you.
After phone calls it emerged that they would not say more than a 'sorry' about this.
The saga then continued. I cancelled the quarterly direct debit at the back and have asked BT to send me monthly paper bills. Then last month our phone and internet was cut off.
We rang up and suggested that due to the mix up could they add the money we owed to our monthly bills and we'd pay this off on top of the monthly bill. Despite that the reason we owe this at all is not through any fault of our own but through theirs. The money would have been available had they taken it as repeatedly requested.
We were on the phone for 1hr and 10 mins ( 21st September) to three different people. No, they said  must be paid in 10 day. My partner only managed to get money off this in about an hour - the point being we were happy to pay the whole amount over a year and were not allowed. We asked to speak to a manager after 1hr and 10 and were put back to the start of the queue. 16 minutes later the man we spoke to said a manager named Samantha would call us back. No-one did.
On the 22nd of september a rather annoyed me called back and repeatedly requested a manager - sadi would be put though. After 17 minutes the phone went dead.
Called later on same thing phone went dead after requesting a manager at 10 minutes.
Later on called for 28 minutes and told the call centre the issue £20 deducted from amount but said it had to be paid in ten days and a  bill would be sent. Was told that the internet would be reconnected that day.
23rd September was hung up on after thre minutes on requesting why the internet had not been connected.
Phoned later. The man that I spoke to said that no action had been put through to reconnect the internet. He would do it and it would be through by 5pm.
My partner phoned at 8pm when the internet still had not been reconnected. It was done the next day.
Today BT phoned to ask if I had the bill ( Not sent) and tell me that the line will be disconnected by the end of the day. i explained that we were in the middle of complaints procedures with them. She looked on the system and said that there were no notes on the account. I asked for a manager and then asked for this managers superior. She put me through to someone that when questioned was not her superior and half way through my explanation of this....you guessed it..... the line went dead.
I am so annoyed that we've been fine with bill paying and as of their mistake we're now in debt to them and feel like we can't sort it out as there is not anyone who will listen or help. Has anyone had similar probelms or does anyone have a number for their English call centre?
    Jess

    hi Jess,

  • Dns issues with one domain (Resolved)

i'm currently having dns issues with one domain, in that it won't resolve when I use bt's dns servers.
The domain is owned by a friend in the US who runs his own server for irc, web, and I also have a server that is on his connection, and resolves fine from other machines on different networks, and also resolves fine when I set windows to use the opendns servers, but when it's set to either my routers ip (using bt's dns), or set to automatic (using bt's dns via the homehub), this one domain will not resolve.
I'm pretty certain it's not a windows issue, as it's a clean install of windows 7 that I did yesterday. I've tried rebooting the homehub, and also flushing my dns on windows, but this has not solved the issue.
As I say, it resolves fine on other networks, and also when I use the opendns servers, so I know it's definately a dns issue.
    Using bt's dns servers:
    C:\Users\admin>ping chatnsn.com
Ping request could not find host chatnsn.com. Please check the name and try agai
    n.
    Using opendns:
    C:\Users\admin>ping chatnsn.com
Pinging chatnsn.com [68.51.24.74] with 32 bytes of data:
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Ping statistics for 68.51.24.74:
        Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
(The timeouts are normal...he has his router set to not respond to ping requests).
Has anyone got any ideas on how to sort this out? Preferably without having to phone the helpdesk...lets just say i've done it in the past, and according to the poeple I spoke to in india, I knew nothing about my own systems, and it was a problem at my end...which was not the case, and I proved this several times.
Edit: This issue appears to have resolved itself, and the domain is now resolving again using the homehub for dns resolution.

    Hi,
When NSLOOKUP starts, before anything else, it checks the computer's network configuration to determine the IP address of the DNS server that the computer uses.
Then it does a reverse DNS lookup on that IP address to determine the name of the DNS server.
If reverse DNS for that IP address is not setup correctly, then NSLOOKUP cannot determine the name associated with the IP address.

  • Issues with Creative Cloud for teams deployment workflow

The Adobe Creative Cloud for teams IT Deployment Guide lists out steps for IT admins to deploy the CS6 applications and then have their end-users license the trial software with their Adobe IDs once they have been invited to the team. There are two major issues with this document.
First, the media that is on the FTP is not for North American English. We are working to get that posted on the FTP site ASAP. In the meantime, you can find the CS6 MC media from: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
[Note: Getting media from that page requires the use of the Adobe Download Assistant which is very consumer focused. Sorry about that.]
Second, in order to have the ability to login properly with a Creative Cloud for Teams account the system needs to have the latest copy of Adobe Application Manager installed. If you do not do this step the end user will be prompted for a serial number.
Unfortunately the Adobe Application Manager can’t be packaged with AAMEE nor is it a native installer. I know, I know! Here are the links to the Adobe Application Manager installers:
    Windows: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
It can be installed from command line by:
    Win: <Path to Setup.exe>Set-up.exe –mode=silent –action=install
    Mac: <path to ASU> /ASU/Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install –mode=silent –action=install

    Hi Boncker,
I see that you have an active Subscription under your account . Please launch any of the installed product and when you get the trial prompt , please click on License this software and then Enter the Adobe Id & Password for the account that you have accepted the invite .
Please do let us know if that worked for you or not .

  • Issue with magsafe/charging (blinks green, amber, off)

Having a quirky issue with my mid-2009 Macbook Pro.
A month or so ago, I began having an issue with my macbook charging. When the computer is up and running and I plug in the magsafe it will say "Calculating..." and then say "Not Charging" and then switch to battery use. It constantly does this as long as the magsafe is connected. The lights on the magsafe will constantly cycle from green to amber to no light.
At first, it would do it a few times then it would start charging. Now it constantly does this without ever stopping. I was editing video the other day for a while and it never stopped the cycle.
Thinking it was the battery, I took it into the Apple Store last week and got a new battery because it had been saying "Service battery" for a while and the battery would only last about 20 minutes on a charge. So I just thought the battery finally refused to charge.
    But the problem still exists.
The magsafe is new (only 3 months old) and here's the quirky thing: the computer will charge if it's asleep (lid closed) or shut down completely. No blinking lights at all. It will charge as long as it's asleep or shut down. So I don't think it's the charger. But as soon as you hit the power button to starting booting up, it will blink.
I have reset the SMC a couple times actually, but no change.
Is there something software/firmware related that I haven't tried? Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I take it back to the Apple Store (which is about an hour away).
    Thanks!

In the template I group the data based on CLASSIFICATION and then sort on the same column CLASSIFICATION. I have a page-break applied for every group.
When I generate the PDF, I am not getting the page-breaks for every group. Instead some of them are displayed in the same page.
But when I remove the sorting that I had in the template on the column CLASSIFICATION, I am getting the output in the desired way but not in a sorted order.

    Hi All,
I am using MS-WORD 2007 and BI Publisher desktop 10.1.3.3.3.
When I use split-by-page-break, splitting is performed for every line .. but not for group of lines.
Can anybody throw some light on this?
    FYI...
    I am using this code:
    ?if: position() mod 6= 0?
    ?split-by-page-break:?
    ?end if?
    (Of course with in tags)

  • Issue with PTO (Paid Time Off) quota generation

    Hi All,
We have an issue with quota generation of PTO for our employees.
    The issue goes like this:
We have a Paid time off for employees 5weeks( 200 hrs) for employees who have worked less than 5 years.
we have  paid time off for employees 6 weeks ( 240 hrs) for employees who have worked more than 5 years.
we have the following logic that has to go in this config:
-- Our fiscal year starts on Feb 1st and ends on Jan end or Feb starts which has a full week of working days. ( ex: if 01/31/2012 falls on a Thursday the following Monday which has full 5 day working week would be the end of the fiscal year).
-- Depending on the working hours of  the employees and the date of joining for the first year ( for new hires)0041 info type the eligibility gets varied and reduced. Ex( employees who joins on start of fiscal year and works 40hrs per week schedules is eligible for 200hrs of PTO. Employees who join in the month of august and works for 35 hrs per week ( i.e mid of fiscal year) would get 91 hrs of PTO.
I need to put this in the system. I am thinking this could be done with out tweaking PCR.I need help in configuring this in Absence quotas as to what are the things i need change in system config and how do i do it. Please help with some screen shots if possible.  I really need this to get it done ASAP. Looking forward for help.
    Thanks,
    Chowdary.

We use TM00 schema. Can i call TS15 and TS 12  rules into TM00 acheieve my issue of quota entilements?
Iam doing this because my businees needs to see if an employee chages his work schedule from 40 to 30 or 20 etc.. the PTO has to vary accordingly.
As the minimum eligibility is to work for 20 hrs to avail the PTO days. If at any point the employee drops it under 20 he will not be eligible till he work any this >= 20hrs per month so the evaluation has to check periodically to update the quota availability.... I need help plz suggest ...

  • Issues with iMessage when switching data carrier (wifi - cellular)

So I have had this issue with my 5S and now my 6+ in iMessage. Not *always* but often enough I've run into issues sending messages via iMessage when I associate with wifi in that they don't send. I'll get an error message saying "not delivered" and it will stack as many outgoing messages I try to send. However, if I force the first message to send as text, subsequent messages will go through afterwards without issue. If I go from wifi to cellular I have no issues whatsoever and when I have these issues on wifi, my data works fine (incoming emails, Facebook notifications, etc.). I used to run cellular data only because I had unlimited but now I have a cap so I intend on using wifi when possible...but to have to send my first message as a text just so I can use iMessage is annoying...

    Hi there BigDogg795,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps for iMessage found in the article below.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you selected iMessage for use. If the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use, troubleshoot iMessage registration.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. If a data connection isn't available, troubleshoot cellular data or a Wi-Fi connection.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn which network your phone supports. If your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while you're on a call.
    Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you still can't send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Make sure that the contact you're trying to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.

  • Issues with WebForm performance

    Hi,
We had migrated a new application from UAT to PROD and we encounter webform performance issues with the following actions..
After login, the first form you open it is
always slow. After this you can switch from one form to another without a
    delay.
Then once you change any data – the next time
you access a form it gets delayed.
The point to be noted is, it doesnt have any performance issues in the UAT environment and the configuration settings, essbase cache settings are all the same. We did try to move the EPM system to a new server to see if this is a hardware issue but no luck, the performance issues still exist. The consumption of the CPU/memory has been checked and it is proved that the form opening delay has nothing to do with lack of memory.
The JVM head settings is set up at 4GB which is infact higher than that of the UAT environment(2GB).
runs on Windows server2008,11.1.2.1.600 EPM serve, has planning, reporting, foundation on one server (32GB ram) and essbase on another server (32GB ram). Any help is appreciated.

I already replied there but it seems no moderator is willing to approve my reply so it never shows up.
So I'll try replying in here instead:
I never thought it could be an emulator issue, I thought I had done something wrong to begin with. So I take having performance issues with tiled layer is not a common problem I suppose?
I'm using MOTODEV SDK platform, A1200 model (motorola).

  • Issues with using 3 monitors on 2 external gpu

    Hi,
I have some issues with configuring Xorg to use 3 monitors. I have 2 external graphic cards (same model, no SLI). Monitors connected to the first gpu are recognized ok but I can't configure my 3rd monitor conencted to the second gpu via HDMI nor DVI.
1st is recognized as DVI-I-1, 2nd is DP-1 in first card, 3rd monitor is in second card (bus 22:00.0) as DP-1-2 (also tried connecting as DVI-I-2). I can see them in Xorg log but I can't configure my 3rd monitor via kscreen nor xrandr. :-/

I have  a similar issue except with two ATI cards and four monitors.
I have a working xorg.conf that uses Xinerama and all 4 work but have been trying to get xrandr to work since xinerama is deprecated supposedly.
I would like to switch to xrandr but there is some kind of magic voodoo I have with my current xorg.conf that doesn't even work on an exact same machine and cards that I tried to setup for a co-worker.

    I see DVI-0 and DVI-1 connected and in "xrandr -q" but in Xorg.0.log I see DVI-1-2 and DVI-1-3.
xrandr --listproviders show the two cards as well.
Tried "xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0" and they show up in KDE but as clones and then X crashes eventually.
"xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 0 1" just plain crashes X

  • BW 3.5 - Issue with formula variable with replacement path

    Dear experts,
I'm facing an issue with formula variable with replacement path.
Just to clarify, I know replacement paths is raising a lot of questions but I've been using this functionnality extensively in the past, both in 7.0 and 3.5, so I'm not looking for basic information about how to use it.
I'm trying to setup a simple report that would show total values per plant of Purchase Order < 100 €
To do so I've setup a calculated key figure as follow:
    VAR1 * ("PO value" < 100 ) * "PO value"
VAR1 is a formula variable with replacement path on 'purchase order' and value attribute 'constant =1'.
(The report has to show values summarized by plant but should not show the detail PO by PO, so I'm not looking at a solution based on condition)
The report as characteristic "plant" in rows and my CKF in columns.
Now let's take an example. I have 3 POs in Plant 1:
    PO1 -> 150€
    PO2 -> 90€
    PO3 -> 80€
Because of the variable with replacement path, the result in my query should be:
plant1 = 170 (even though characteristic "purchase order" is not in my rows, system should evaluate PO one by one and return values only for those two that are below 100).
But the result coming is 320, which is wrong.
I've done the same report on many other 3.5 systems and it worked perfectly, and I am not able to get proper support from SAP OSS who keep saying that this functionnality is not ready in 3.5 (although I've provided screenshot of this working on another 3.5 system!!! how frustrating...)
They have also pointed to problems of Before and After aggregation but that has absolutely no impact. Once again, the scenario is working perfectly on other 3.5 systems with the same query design, so i'm sure it has nothing to do with Query Designer options.
Would anyone have ever come to an equivalenet problem? I'm wondering whether the DB itself could not play a role in the variable with ref  characteristic 'constant =1' ...
    Any though is welcome!
    thanks

    Hi,
The text variable is replaced when the exact date is clear for this key figure column according to the restriction.
To achive this, please make sure that either the variable is directly restricted in the key figure selection, or that the date characteristic is in drilldown.
    Regards,
    Patricia

  • Issue with Analysis Office Add in

    Hi,
User are having an issue with Analysis Office and giving the error.
From Analysis Office-> Open workbook->after Login to AO using BW connection

    Hi Krishna,
Thanks for the reply.  The Sales office field is directly mapped  in the transformation and does not have any routine. Its the Key field.
The Billing Document Condition infocube is being feed by the DSO '2LIS_13_VDKON - Billing Document Condn' and datasource is '2LIS_13_VDKON'.
The Open Orders infocube is being feed by the DSO Document Order item / Delivery;  below which we have another 3 DSO.
1st DSO has the Datasource '2LIS_13_VDITM'
2nd DSO has the Datasource '2LIS_11_VAITM'
3rd DSO has the Datasource '2LIS_11_V_SSL'
The Sales Office 7 has txn records for the month of April & May.
The report built on top of a Multiprovider and the for the months June and July, we have txn records fine for the sales office 01 - 06.
Please help me, if i am missing anything here and make me to understand better.

  • BW hierarchies issue with BOBJ Reporting tools

    Hi All,
    Brief about the requirement:
Our client was using Mainframe and other tools for their reporting. Now as they have planned to go for SAP, purchased SAP BW 7 and SAP BOBJ XI 3.1 for warehouse and reporting purposes.
Initial Road map planned for implementation was
o     to use Crystal for operational and formatted reporting
o     to use WebI for Ad hoc and interactive reporting
o     to use Xcelsius for Dashboards
Once we started analysing the requirements, we observed that client requires hierarchies extensively for reporting and they donu2019t want to compromise in that for reporting. At this situation we have explored the options and came to know from the SAP sites that BO got limitations in case of BW hierarchies. But we not able to articulate the what is the exact issue. Is it with only WebI or Crystal also?
What we have articulated is we cannot report the hierarchies in BO in terms of nodes - > Sub nodes -> sub nodes instead we can do as fixed columns. Please add me if i am missing anything else.
And also please let us know options. Options that we were thinking are Implement with BO XI 3.1 considering Advanced analysis tool then upgrade to BO XI 4.1.
Please suggest us, what is the BW & BO hierarchy issue and right tools to use.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bala

Our client uses XI 3.2 but is experiencing issues with Hierarchical BEX queries returning blanks - the mdx is fine - just webi that seems to have a problem and I'm also trying to determine in exactly which instances this occurs.
XI 4.x supposedly resolves mots issues but here again details are not known.
I.e. hopefully someone can point to an info source that describes in more detail what issues are likely to occur re hierarchies and webi.

  • Issues with multiple things since Mavericks update

I installed the Mavericks update and since, I have been having multiple problems with different things on my MacBook Pro 13"
    1. Printer issues: I have an HP officejet 6500 wireless printer (Officejet 6500 E709n Series), and now it's having major issues with printing, yet was working perfect prior to update. It will either cut out pages when printing PDF documents, or printing so slow that it has to take a break in between printing each document (an issue that all never occurred until update), to print documents back to back, it will stop after one document as though I have no other documents in queue to print, and pauses for an extremely long time (nearly a full minute, no exaggeration here, literally almost a full 60 seconds), something it's never done before this update. My Apps update even did an update to the HP software that is inside the Mac already to use printing (in other words, the mac doesn't need to have the HP software manually installed for it to work, it automatically sees the printer because it is connected to my wireless network just as my Macbook Pro which is also connected wirelessly to my network).
    2. Internet issues: am now unable to click on certain links in safari that I was able to use prior to the update, yet they will open fine inside of firefox with no issues, yet I cannot always switch between two different browsers to perform task online (literally have to start all over inside firefox while in the middle of something in safari). Also lots of websites no longer work correctly and I have to constantly clear history and cookies to attempt to use certain sites, at times it will help, other times it wont work period, yet the same exact site will work perfect in firefox (which I do not use, only on my system for use on certain sites for school because in safari prior to the update, I would have issues with only the class site and some links not working at all, no spinning wheel, no errors, just nothing, no response of any kind, basically worse than what it was before the update). Another issue, hit Ctrl+a to select inside Safari and it highlights, but then when you click out of the highlight, it comes back on it's own several times without you hitting anything, just click inside the screen on a blank space (no links, etc) with touchpad.
    3. System issues:  My system is way slower than what it was prior to the update, click on things and it wont respond at all, then minutes later will eventually respond or pops up the spinning color wheel, which it either never responds or takes an extremely long time to respond. And no matter how much I restart, it doesn't help anything. Even just to sit doing nothing, no clicking or usage on the system, and the color wheel pops up.
    4. Mail issues: Mail is now popping up completely blank messages that I have sent out, the person receives it with no issues, yet I cannot look at the message I sent neither in the inbox or the sent items when I need to look at them again, an issue not present prior to update. Also I an now having issues when receiving mail, sometimes it will check for mail and sometimes I have to manually click to make it check the server for mail, an issue not present prior to update as well.
As of now, since I have had the chance to used the system since the update, these are the issues I have had, yet haven't had the chance to check other things, so there may be other issues that are occurring that I'm not aware of at the moment. I knew it would be a mistake to do this "free" update and did so anyway and now having one issue after the next with each application I open to use.
    Mac general info:
Mac is one year old, purchased brand new, no shareware programs of any kind installed.
Use for school and basic web surfing use.
Do not install any programs onto system that I'm unsure are safe (basically programs for/from school/school websites only, or from the Mac Apps store only), not even programs like Skype, nor any windows based programs of any kind.
Lots of free memory avail because I save everything onto external hard drives (purchased brand new as well, only 4months old) in case system crash occurs, only things on the system is Itunes music or pics from photo stream that sync to the system when Iphone connected.
    Mac system info:
    - Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
    - Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    - Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
    - Software  OS X 10.9
    - Number of Processors:          1
    - Total Number of Cores:          2
    - L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
    - L3 Cache:          3 MB

For those needing help fixing their system and putting it back to Lion or Mountain Lion, this is what I have done to eliminate all my issues in about an hour (depending on your internet connection).
Amazing thing, I just restored my computer back to Mountain Lion, and she's working perfect again, as I knew she would. E-mail popping into mailbox instantly as it should and did before the update, printer working fast as it was before update, no more freezing or glitches of any kind thankfully and finally. Here is the link that is through the Apple site to direct you on how to put your system back and get rid of Maverick's, that is assuming that is what you would like to do and also includes link for those wanting to try fixing the issue if that is your preference (most of this info is for those with mountain lion and some with the previousverisoin of OS X lion).
If you want to keep Maverick's here is a good post on the apple discussion board to help you out:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6161
If you just want to totally get rid of it and put back what you had before, this is the short version of how to do so:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3353
NOTE: This particular link has a lot of info on what to do for different situations, it is a bit lengthy, yet still very helpful.
OS X Mountain Lion: Reinstall OS X (direct from Apple support site, not someone else):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10763?viewlocale=en_US
OS X: About OS X Recovery (also from apple support directly and includes some instructions just the same as previous links above):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
Just in case you aren't sure what it will all look like as you are doing things, this is a link to show you a few pics of what you will see  as you as you are going through the process, it can be helpful for those who aren't sure what they are doing or how to do things at all:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/recovery/
This is a way to download the Mountain Lion disk info from the server
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433
I hope this helps someone, it was amazing for me and my system is working perfect again like it was, battery life is way better went from like 3 hours to like 5 (not on full charge by the way, after it sat for a while doing the online update which took a while so that's saying something alone, huge improvement). I plan to wait a while before attempting to reinstall Maverick's, long enough for them to fix the bugs.
