Anyone have an idea of the value of this machine?
Steve

Hi, G5s are dropping in price fast, but here's some comparisons, you don't mention speed or Graphic card...

  • Excise invoice posted with Zero duty value

    Hi,
My client has an STO process where they will generate a proforma Invoice with Excise duties,
Initially when proforma was created excise duties were not reflecting since condition records were not maintained, user was not aware of that and created a excise invoice also with 0 Duty value.
After this condition records were maintained and invoice was updated with excise values. But we are unable to update the excise tables through the same excise invoice no. This transaction is a back dated one for which client has already filed excise returns with SAP Excise number series, Can we pass a JV through FI to adjust the entries or any other solution.
    Regards,
    Zehran.

Client has done PGI with ZERO quantity
          also done billing
if i go to cancel that cancel invoice in J1IIN
it is not allowing to cancel
If your copy control is in line with standard settings, first of all you cannot post the goods issue without any quantity and also generation of billing is not possible.
Coming to your second issue, please try in J1IH instead of J1IIN.
    thanks

  • PowerMac G4 having problems with new RAM modules!

    dear all,
I’ve recently got 2 512 MB Ram module from a British eBay dealer, to be used on 2 different but very similar PowerMac G4 AGP Graphichs 400 MHz machines.
I installed the first module in my father’s Mac, and it works fine, no problems of any sort. Then, a few days later, I installed the other module in my PowerMac, and immediately it started behaving very erratically: some programs didn’t open at all and others crashed with no warning, I tried to run Rember but it soon get stuck. I assumed the Ram module was faulty, emailed the dealer (who’s been very helpful) and then sent it back to get a replacement. The new module arrived yesterday, I installed it... and it was even worse: as some programs didn’t open as soon as the new module was installed, I rebooted the PowerMac but it hasn’t been able even to load the OS anymore, it just stopped at the blue screen forever, once came out a black screen and a Darwin login, but nothing else. As soon as I removed the Ram module the PowerMac started to work perfectly again.I'd assume again there's something wrong in the Ram module, but isn't it too much unlucky to get 2 faulty modules one after the other, or maybe the problem could somewhere else, in my PowerMac?!?
Unfortunately I can't test the new module in my father's machine, as we live 700 kms apart.
    My hardware details are:
    Power Mac G4
    Model: PowerMac3,3
    CPU: PowerPC G4 (2.9)
    1 CPU
    CPU Speed: 400 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
    Memory: 896 MB
    Bus speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
    thanks!

ok, I've now tried every possible combination... but with no success
First, taking out one of the "old" 128 MB I realized it was one of the High density DIMMs (chips on one side only) Japamac was mentioning, in total 2 of the 128 modules were like this. However, taking out one or both of them, or even having only the "new" 512 MB module in, hasn't changed much, sometimes the OS booted, sometimes not but there were always some programs not opening/crashing and Rember got stuck with an error message. With just the "new" module the booting stopped at the blue screen (only blue, no apple splash screen in the centre).
With the new module plus one of the old 128 MB modules (the one with chips on both sides) Rember got stuck very soon, and the error message was:

  • Will a new iMac 27 inch Quad i7 with only 4 gig RAM and 1 terabyte HD

Will this stock computer i7 Quad with the stock RAM and HD run Final Cut Studio 3 full suite effectively for basic HD editing from my new Canon hard drive/SD camcorder or should I immediately upgrade to 8 Gig RAM and 2 Terabytes HD to get the full benefit of this computer. I would like to upgrade them both later but I want 100% performance. I'm only editing 20 to 60 minute segments right now and only a few at a time and only one open at any given time.

I'm being told that "never" load your workflow into the same hard drive as your operating system. I'm sure that's an exact and professional statement and true, when possible. With this iMac you can't run and external hard drive and download effectively at the same time in order to bypass your internal hard drive because you have only one Firewire connection.USB 2 is supposed to pause and interrupts the flow so it is said to be ineffective for this purpose. I haven't found out yet about the SD card to an external hard drive but if it does I'm still being told that color correction cannot be added because it's in your external hard drive and the only solution is two hard drives in your computer to be able to effectively do all this and that is not an option with this current version of iMac..

What is the best value iMac config for hd video editing.?  I was going to go for i5 3.1 ghz with 4mb ram, but should I go further?  Thanks!

You have it currently installed? Can you go to the System Profiler and click on Applications (will take a while to populate) - take a look at your FCP and check what it says on the right - Universal, Intel, or PPC? It'll look like this:
If it's Universal or Intel, it'll run in Lion. However, the installer may or may not be PPC - that you may not know until you try to install. If you have it currently installed, then you could do what I did - move over all the files manually. I have a list of files for FCE and would assume they'd be the same with FCP: copy them from the old Mac and insert them in the very same spots on the new one.
Here is the list for FCE:

(It was published for an uninstall, but worked like a charm).

am looking at buying an Aspire Netbook with 4 gig ram, dual core amd c70 processor and windows 8, will it run my cs5 suite

    Mark,
Adobe generally requires a minimum CPU clock speed of 2.0 GHz or higher in order to run CS5 or higher. Unfortunately, the AMD C70 CPU in that netbook operates at only 1.0 GHz, which is far below Adobe's minimum requirement. In addition, even if it did run Premiere Pro CS5, performance will be excruciatingly slow, not only due to the extremely weak CPU, but also due to the complete lack of a discrete GPU with CUDA capability. As such, that system, if it even runs Premiere Pro CS5 at all, would be at least 80 to 100 times slower (in terms of the Relative Performance Index (RPI) in Bill Gehrke's and Hard Millaard's PPBM5 tests) than even a mediocre quad-core desktop PC, let alone a fast overclocked i7 monster PC.

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 gigs ram,  will it work with Mercury playback Engine for accelerate

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 gigs ram,  will it work with adobe Mercury playback Engine for accelerated rendering for Premeire Pro cs6?

I am a PC guy but, I have 6 work stations with CS6 but the wife wants a Mac so I am getting her an imac with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 gigs ram. Do you think this video card in the mac will still be able to utilize the Adobe CS6 MPE?
It's not formally supported by Adobe for GPU acceleration; however judging from the fact that the lesser GTX-650M is (with 6.02 update), and the end-user ability to enable support for unsupported cards in Adobe apps, it should work.

  • Any experience with DDR2 RAM from Legacy Electronics (PowerMac G5 Quad) ? ?

hi, I´m looking into upgrading my PowerMac G5 Quad with 8GB RAM DDR2(4x2GB), and came across a kit from Legacy Electronics for $740 (w/lifetime warranty). I already have 8GB from OWC installed, but they want $1100 for another 8GB..
Anyone had any experience with RAM from Legacy Electronics ? The price on this kit seems almost to good to be true.. is this crap ?
    Here´s the specs :
    8Gb (4x2048Mb) Memory Kit
    DDR2-533
    PC2-4200
    Dual-Channel
    Matched Pair
    Lifetime Warranty
30 days Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee
Guaranteed Compatible with Apple PowerMac G5 (DDR2 / Dual-Core models only!)
    Any input is highly appreciated.
    THANKS!

    B?rre S?thre-
That is an amazing price. I have no experience with Legacy Electronics. If it has a lifetime warranty that should help, but if it is the kind of company that won't be around in 6 months it really doesn't matter.
As I am sure that you know, most issues with RAM (once it is known good and working) come from subsequent OSX updates. The warranty should help with that should it not work in the future.
    Lemme know if it works.

  • How much impact with 4G RAM?

I bought the base model 13" MBP (with 2G RAM). My use is pretty plain vanilla (Web, email, iPhoto, MS Office, Skype, etc) with no heavy video or gaming. What's the general view of the value of going to 4G? And if yes, what about doing it myself? What does Apple charge to do it?
    Thanks,
    Picman

I agree that for many users, 2 gig of RAM is plenty. For those of us who run Windows 7 in a VMware Fusion partition and want to leave it open while we are running OS X programs, though, more RAM is better. I just upgraded my MBP from 2 to 6 gig with modules I bought from OWC, Macsales. Now I can have Safari, Mail, iCal and Windows 7 in a Fusion virtual machine running simultaneously with no noticeable slowing down of any processes. I have assigned 3 gig of the RAM and one of the two processors to Fusion and Windows 7 is performing far better now than it ever did when I had only 1 gig of RAM for it. The total cost of the OWC modules was $189.99.

  • Tecra M10-1H4 - Changing shared video RAM value?

    Hi there,
I have a Tecra M10, with the standard 2GB of RAM, I also added an extra 256mb in the available RAM slot. Can I change the shared Graphics RAM value? In the properties of XP Pro I can see it is set at 1024MB which is silly since I only have 2.25GB in the machine.
I can't seem to locate any settings even in the BIOS, where I thought I could change this. It is a mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics chip. Any help is appreciated...
I also seem to get some horrible slow downs on the laptop too, when I have about 10 different windows open, (be it the same app or different ones) when I switch to a different window/app on occasion I have to wait for the laptop to redraw the new window very slowly?
I've updated the driver too - claims i'm on: 6.14.10.4953
    Cheers
    TC

    Hi buddy,
No, you cant change the value of video memory. Everything will be controlled automatically and there is no value in BIOS or display driver where you can change this.
Video RAM depends on RAM you use on your notebook. Increasing system memory the values for total available graphic memory, decided video memory and shared system memory will be higher and higher.
So, to get more video RAM upgrade your notebook with more system RAM.

  • Upgraded to 1.25 Gigs RAM from 512 MB-- notice some HEAT

Hi folks. I just upgraded my 12" G4 PowerBook (1.33 GHz) from 512 MB to 1.25 GB of RAM by adding a 1 Gig card. The first card I bought was a 3rd party brand and it was faulty, but the company was good and sent out a replacement.. the Samsung (same as used by Apple) arrived quickly.
My question is this: Does it make any sense that I would notice a bit more heat production with the 1 Gig card in there? It's possible that it's only happening because I'm using Lightroom, more of a memory hog than other programs I've used previously. Or maybe it always gets warm like this but I don't always notice it as much when I haven't changed anything.
Wanting to run Lightroom was initially the main reason I wanted more RAM, BTW.
    Thanks for your input.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.6)   1.33 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Some heat may be possible just because the components are more dense. I would note the following:
    1. Heat of laptops is normal to a point:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30612
    2. You can use the hardware test disk that came with your machine to run an extended test and see if it detects anything wrong. Does not mean the RAM is good or bad if it detects nothing. But if it does detect something wrong, then it is.
    3. I've seen Blue and White G3 RAM go bad, and overheat so that it is too hot to touch. So any RAM can go bad at anytime, and even high quality RAM can too. Try replacing the RAM if you are seeing behavior with the machine that would not be considered normal under an erase and install (backup your data first), and it seems to happen when the heat gets more. Make sure when you get RAM, it is too spec:
    http://www.info.apple.com/support/applespec.html
And lifetime warranty RAM at that straight from the manufacturer.
    4. The 15" Powerbooks of the 1.25 Ghz generation have been known to have issues with one RAM slot. I know Apple started servicing newer 15" models due to RAM issues:
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n303173
Not sure if the same issue has been seen on the 1.33 Ghz 12".
    Good luck!

  • Z77A-GD65 no longer boots with 4 RAM modules

I had 4 x 8GB Cosair Vengeance LP that used to work fine, but no longer boots into Windows with 4 but only with 2 RAM modules.  Any help in solving the issue would be appreciated. ( I need 32 GB as I run many virtual machines )
The 4 modules worked fine for few months until couple weeks ago,  when I saw issues with booting into Windows 7. The workaround was to "warm up" by leaving the PC in BIOS for about 5 minutes and it would boot fine.  Since couple days ago, it would POST but not boot into Windows or into live Linux on USB, so I started troubleshooting with bare bones first ( MB, CPU, 1 RAM, PS ) and then starting adding more and more components until I found that  1 and 2 RAM modules worked in either black or blue rail but with 4 RAM modules, it will POST, but not boot at all into either USB based live system or into Windows 7.
Memtest with 2 separate sets of modules pass with flying colors. Mixing the sets work fine too, but add 2nd set (i.e. 4 modules) and it fails to boot.  I am leaning more toward believing the issue is with the MB than with the RAM since mixing them doesn't throw any memory error.
Any suggestion on how to check if it's the RAM or MB ?

What voltage is the RAM running? A slight bump up in voltage might help.
As to voltage, I started with standard 1.5 and then incrementally upped it to 1.65v. At 1.6v and above, it does boot into Windows, but intermittently goes into BSOD... Works perfect with 1.5v with 2 RAM modules.
I'll save the money for next build instead of going for 32GB kit.  ... guess I'll live with 16GB for now.
Thank you all for the advice.

  • Performance with 2GB RAM and SSD

I own a late 2010 MBA, 13" baseline model with 2GB RAM, w/SSD.  I am using Snow Leopard, and it runs perfectly.  I would like to upgrade to ML to sync with ipad, but a concerned with performance.  I use my MBA for word processing, emails, and internet surfing, including occasional movie downloads.  I cannot upgrade the RAM on this model.  I would therefore very much appreciate if someone who has run the latest versio of ML on this model can inform me of its performance w/2GB RAM and an SSD drive.  (I know it can run; I want to know how it runs).  Thanks very much!

Just went through the same situation with my 2006 iMac. Technically my memory tops out at 3gigs, but I can get 4 in there if I insist (though the machine won't take full advantage).
After a considerable amount of research, and hearing some horror stories of some folks who dove straight into Lion on older machines, I opted on upgrading memory to 3gig, backing up all my data, then running a clean install of Snow Leopard. I then reinstalled all my stuff, followed with a run of Monolingual (a shareware program that removes unnecessary languages and builds), then ran OnyX (another shareware) to run scripts and check/repair permissions.
Works fantastic. Machine is operating perfectly on 10.6.8 and with the memory upgrade and clean drive its running faster than ever. Definite new breath of life in the machine.
As per memory upgrade, I'd recommend going to Crucial. They're very Mac friendly, customer oriented, and reasonably priced. They have a small program you can download that scans your machine to determine the correct chip required, then brings you stright to an info and ordering page. I managed to get a 2gig chip with shipping for about $25. With the Snow Leopard upgrade total cost was under $60 for resuscitation.

  • How to filter certificate templates in Certificate Authority snap-in with the correct values

How to filter certificate templates in Certificate Authority snap-in with the correct values
    I have a 2012 R2 server running Microsoft Certificate Authority snap-in.
I want to do a filter on a specific Certificate Template which i know exists in the 'Issued Certificates' folder.
All the documentation i can find seems to suggest i copy the certificate name and use this in the View Filter.
1). I add the 'Certificate Template' option into the Field drop-down.
2). I leave the Operation as the '=' symbol
3). I paste in just the name of the template in question. for example: 'my computers'
The search results always come back blank 'There are no items to show in this view.' even when i know there are many instances of this template. I've tried on a win 2008 server and same issue.
Is there a correct value to enter for the Certificate Template name?
Can this be done easier using certutil commands?
When i run the certutil tool i can confirm i have several issued templates. Certutil -catemplates -v > c:\mytemplate_log.csv
Anybody know what i'm doing wrong?
I seem to be getting nowhere with this one.

    > But its important you are using the template name, not the display name
this is incorrect. OIDs are mapped to *display name*, not common name (it is true for all templates except Machine template). That is, in order to translate template name to a corresponding OID, you need to use certificate template's display name. And, IIRC,
template name in the filter can be used only for V1 templates. For V2 and higher, OID must be used.
