PowermacG5 issues hardrive not recognized and fans rev up.

Machine won't boot up to cd keeps giving an error message computer can't install this OS. Then on top of that it doesn't recognize the hardrive and the fan starts to rev up pretty loud after awhile. I did a diagnostic test and nothing came up. I also rest the SMU and the following below and still nothing just got this machine folks and I need help. I was able to format the drive using the firewire and my macbook pro but still couldn't boot into an os and the drive still wasn't recognized on its own. Do macs have any issues with certain brand drives if so I hope I don't have it but then again that would be an easy solution. Any hints folks
To boot into Open Firmware, shut down your Mac, then start it up while holding down the Command, Option, O and F keys. At the prompt, enter the following commands (you may want to write them down on a piece of paper before beginning this process), pressing the return key after each:
reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all
Changed hardrive slot checked memory again and again.

TRy te Install disc in the MBP, boot the MBP into FireWire target disk mode...

Boot this PowerMac with the Option/alt key, see if you can choose the Install Disc in the MBP as a boot drive.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

I have had similar issues with mine, happens mainly if I transfer songs and then decide to disconnect my iPod to listen to them with my IEMs (I use Interenet Explorer in my case and it is not neccessarely up when this happens, so I seriously doubt it is an issue conencted to the web browser). I have no patience for this so my trick is I try to eject it from iTunes, if that does not work, then I bring Windows explorer up, right mouse click on the iPod mounted drive and select Eject. It gives me the same warning but there is a third button selection called Continue. When I choose that it just disconnets the drive anyway and the iPod is finally disconnected. It seems to work each and every time I do it so this solution is fine for me. Would be intersting to see what the real root cause of this is because I started getting this problem with the newer iTunes 11.

Shuffle not recognized and can't restore

I recently "Up"grade to itunes 7.0. Now my shuffle is not recognized and it's telling me to restore. When I try to restore it's telling me the software is not found. When I go to the apple site to download the software it tells me the ipod resource was not found. Any thoughts...

I have always had this problem it has never ever synched. I feel i have wasted my money. I have to bother some one else if I want to change the songs. Kinda pointless. There is something to be said about the old days of popping a tape in recording music and poping it straight in ur walkman w out all the bs and sometimes I still do. I dont need all the bells & whistles of Music videos & all the other "benefits" they offer. If they really are "cool" this would be a non issue. Half the time my computer won't open programs. If I had wanted something that requires so much babysitting I would have bought a pc for a quarter of the price and w out the slick marketing campaign and i dont care if it is an ipod or any mp3 player, I just want it to function w out the BS. I dont care what it is called as long as it works w out the bs. I need functionality. When music was about music and nothing else. Thanks. I recieved a notice from Tekserve, the only Apple retailer in NYC until last year, saying "Sorry for the short notice, but you have 2 weeks to register for Applecare and it will cost you $150" At the time I did not have the money or time. So far I feel Mac is for middle class & rich people w alot of time & money to spare. I slaved in restaurants to buy this pc etc not to mention lost my job because my work was forced to close because of 9/11, used my savings and had to start again, and it has added up to a glorified internet connection.

I was in the process of putting another firmware for my iPhone(an .ipsw via. itunes) and the house had a power cut. The computer was in the middle of restoring the iPhone but never finished. The apple logo came on and then came onto the 'connect to itunes' screen. My sim card was in but there is no option to slide for emergency. When I Plug it into my computer, a message pops up saying that the 'USB Device Not Recognized', I've tried to plugging my iPhone into my laptop and other Computers but the same message occurs (all windows 7). Other articles say that the error is with the iPhone, I need help!! Can anybody offer some advice on what to do?

Itouch - USB device not recognized and Itouch now no longer works

I'm now on my 3rd Itouch since December all due to the same problem. All seemed to be going well with my 3rd replacement Itouch. Having loaded most of my cd collection into ITunes the night before I was going on holiday I synced my Itouch. Some sort of automatic download took place I think from Microsoft and suggested my drivers were being updated. Next thing I got message to restore my Itouch to factory settings. I did this and all the problems I had with my previou Itouch's started again.
When I now plug my Itouch into my laptop it says "USB device not recognized" and the Itouch will not switch on. I've done everything including reinstalling Itunes, holding down the power and home key but to no avail. Looks like I'm going to have to send my Itouch back again. I have a suspicion that a Microsoft download is corrupting the drivers. If anyone can help I would be very grateful. I really like my Itouch but the fact it keeps failing leads me to wonder if I should opt for something else.

Try leaving it plugged in and then restart the computer.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

We have tried updating, restarting both the iPod and the Mac, 3 cords and 3 different connecting sights (computer, car, and treadmill). Not recognized and not charging.

Today I've received a replacement iPad (from Apple), and surprise surprise, when I connected it to iTunes for proceed with the initial setup, the following message arised
We're sorry, the iPad you connected is not recognized and cannot be activated for service.
We recommend you visit your nearest Apple Store for more information.
I've contacted with my local apple support, and they told me to try to reinstall the iPad entering in DFU mode. I did it twice, and both times the procedure went perfectly but once finished the above message appeared once again.
They have told me to send it once again for repair, but, someone knows how to resolve this ? I've sent my previous iPad ten days ago, and now, I will have to wait other ten and I'm a little bit dissapointed.

Recording not recognizing and snapping to window.

I was using the recorder to develop software training, it stopped recognizing, and snapping to the window, I was recording? Reviewed all setting's even uninstalled and reinstalled and the recorder still is not recognizing and snapping to other windows? Any suggestion? Thanks, Joe

My ipod is not recognized on my windows 7 anymore. Drivers are up to date and working properly, everything on my computer is fine, it's just my Ipod. It does not show up in my "Services". It's not my computer, because it doesn't work on any other computers either. I do not know what to do, and I really need help please.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try another cable
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
