Powerpoint 2008 printing presets

Wasn't sure where else to post this issue.
We are trying to set up our Powerpoint 2008 print presets where it prints Slides 6 to a page, and fits the slides to the page. When we save it as a print preset, the preset gets saved, then prints out fine, but when we close powerpoint and re-open it, the preset is there but the settings we set are gone and set back to the defaults.
Does anyone know how to fix this or where the location that the print preset is being stored to is located?

  • Color Settings\Colorsync settings don't stick when setting printing presets

    Hello
Posting this here, instead of in the iPhoto Forum
In the "Print" dialog box (the dialog box you see after you pass through the iPhoto dialog box - same type of box as with most other OS X applications), there is a down menu to give you access to several categories of settings related to the print job.
Here of course you can save printing presets (paper type, print quality, color management, etc).
Why do ColorSync settings under the "Color Matching" dropdown not get saved with the other presets? Every time, the profile setting defaults to "Automatic". Is this a bug or is there something I am not doing correctly? Is there a good reason why they aren't saved along with other settings? Apple on-screen Help says "some settings cannot be saved in a profile, but this would seem to be a very handy thing?
I use an Epson Artisan 800.
Alternatively, can someone tell me what the behavior is of the "Automatic" setting?
I recently profiled the printer and I am just looking for an easy/quick way at the time of printing to apply one of the three profiles based on the type of paper that is being used. I just figured this would be the easiest way to do it? (my question applies to any application - I posted here because this is of particular importance with iPhoto)
BTW Is it me or is there surprisingly little information online about ColorSync workflows/behavior/relationships in OS X?
Many thanks for any and all advice.
    Justin

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all please update the RDC version to RDP 8.1 for better functionality. Then try to install below updates for windows 7 and check the result.

  • Problem when saving a PowerPoint 2008 for Mac file to PDF.

When I save my PowerPoint 2008 for Mac file as a PDF, the text/font comes out wrong in the PDF -- kind of looks degraded (thinner, darker, more pixilated). I've tried changing the font in the PowerPoint file many times and tried saving it as a PDF both directly and through print -- but each time the text/font doesn't come through correctly in the PDF.  The images/photos in the PowerPoint file all convert to the PDF just fine.  Can anyone help?

  • Printing presets!!!

I am running OS X Mountain Lion on a new macbook pro retina display. i am pretty happy with it, but some things are just driving me insane. If you can help to solve some of those, then you could look at some of my other posts, but....i digress. Anyways, i have the microsoft word, excel and powerpoint 2011 for mac installed, but what is really annoying is that i simply cannot change the dang printer presets!!!
I've tried looking on the internet for over 2hrs and got things like "open your print preferences" (didnt work as i dont have printer preferences) or "most of the details are hidden under another tab" (the tab/button does not exist) all of which just made me get more and more confused. I really want to be able to change the printer presets like the color/grayscale option, page type, quality and other things like that. I am kinda new to macs and all, but the windows interface for printing on my old HP pavilion g6 is generally the same...
    Please help.
    thanks
    Rohan

This is a known problem with the presets: the page format information is not stored, and this needs to be fixed by Apple.
    Hope this helps.

  • Printing presets are not loaded correctly

    Dear community,
i have the following problems using different printers (Canon MG5200, Epson Workforce WF3620, etc.):
I saved about 10 own printing presets and when I check on them under "Show presets" they are totally correct. But when I want to use them in a following print job and select them in the drop-down list "Presets" they are not correctly loaded. E.g. "Paper Size" and "Pages" are alternated to thesetting saved in the preset but e.g. the "Duplex Printing" checkbox or the "Print Quality" drop-down list are just left on the setting they were on before.
Anyone knows that problem and can help me?
    Thanks for your help.
    Greetings,
    Fares from Munich

Sorry for the delay in responding.
I was having trouble with presets, too, on my Epson printer/scanner, which is an old machine and the newer driver software does not give the same print setting options that came originally. So I decided to start from scratch. First I used the Epson uninstaller to remove the printer software. Next, reset the print system, then  connected directly to the printer via USB. Ignored the initial offer to download driver software. In the printer panel in System Preferences, clicked + to add the printer. Then the printer was set up by the system. Still connected directly, I made the presets. Make sure to check the box for "All printers" for your presets. These presets should work when you connect your printer on the network instead of USB.

  • Importing print presets doesn't bring all settings

This isn't the first time. I saved my print presets to desktop out of CS4.  I load into CS5. All that imports is the NAME. The tray is default, any other settings like duplex, make booklet, staple, etc. all default. OK. Maybe CS6 fixes this. I export my print presets to desktop, load them into CS6 and all that comes in is my menu of preset names. Is there anyway to import presets so they actually retain all the settings I spent a lot of time creating. A bit tedious to have to redo every one from scratch. I exported my entire library of exports. Should I be exporting/loading one at a time? That's as much a waste as creating them from scratch.

In ID when you click Printer... (not Page Setup...) you should get a printer specific dialog with a Presets popup. There isn't a way to save both the InDesign settings and your printer specific settings in one preset:
If you click on the Presets popup you should see a Save at the bottom of the popup list
This preset for printing to my GCC's manual feed is also available in Mail and other apps

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I can no longer control Powerpoint 2008 with my apple remote!

  • Storing Print Presets in a Manually Created PDF

I am a Progress programmer creating/printing PDF documents from reports written in Progress by wrapping a PDF shell around the document. Having reviewed Adobe documentation, I know there is a feature called print presets that can be setup so that each time a document prints, certain key fields like tray, number of copies etc will be pre-populated into the print dialog. I wonder if someone can tell me how to add this information to a document during the process of creating it. Is it control code (number of copies) control code printer tray etc and what are the control codes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is similar functionality available through the API? I know how to use PrintParams to select the printer and to adjust Acrobat-specific print settings, but what is the proper approach to control basic settings like number of copies to print, tray to print from, duplex mode, etc.?

  • Where are the Printing Presets in Acrobat located on Mac?

I have just upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.3 from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. All of my applications seem to be working fine, however my printing presets in Acrobat Pro X 10.1.13 are missing. Can I restore them from a Time Machine backup and if so where would they located? There seem to be a number of Library files related to Acrobat, but I'm not sure which ones contain the printing presets. I'm printing to an Epson Stylus Pro 3880. I don't want to have to re-create all the printing presets for that machine if I don't have to. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on how to restore my much needed presets.

Did you save the presets and give them a unique name so they could be selected at a later time?
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Cannot change Print Presets in iPhoto 08

Although I have saved multiple printing presets for other applications, in iPhoto 08 only "Standard" is available. This holds for all user accounts. Any way to correct this?
The problem is that "standard" prints on standard paper for my ink jet. Photos are therefore printed in low res.

Try the simple fix: delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Where are Print Presets in Photoshop (CC 2014)?

Where are print presets in Photoshop?  (I'm using CC 2014 but the question applies to earlier versions as well.)
    I don't see them anywhere.
Illustrator has had them for an eternity -- where you can set paper size, printer type, color settings, magnification, etc.
Where is the same functionality for Photoshop?  And if it doesn't exist -- why not? It makes no sense.

Yes they are different apps -- one does raster, one does vector - but they share the need to allowing printing from time to time, and there's no reason why the printing interface should be radically different.
Unquestionably, Print Presets would be very useful in Photoshop.
I know where all the settings are -- I want to have a preset so I don't have to keep setting the color management and magnification and everything else each time I want to output to a particular printer.

  • Problem with printing presets in  LR 4

Printing presets do not reflect perameters I set or update to in HP 9100 shortcut preferences working in Windows Vista.  I have reloaded the HP application and upgraded from LR 4.1 to 4.2 just in case that was the problem.  I do not know if I had the issue with 4.0.
I also deleted preset and created a new one.  HP shortcuts always reverts to a different set of preferences then the one I have just established.
I cannot tell if the problem is with LR or HP.

  • How to Sort Print Presets in IDCS3

Hello I have a long list of print presets, and I would like to sort them.
Is there a way??? I would hate to manually recreate like 30 of them.
    Thanks, Art

I don't think there is any way to sort them except to create them in order.
That said, you CAN save them one at a time from the presets "Define" dialog, then delete them and load them back in one at a time in order. Tedious, but better than re-creating them.
Once ordered, select them all and save as a group for reloading or moving to another system.
