Powerpoint audio

I have spent a hudge amount of time creating powerpoint
slides with voice narration attached directy to shapes(not the
slides themselves) with and without animation.
After importing into captivate, non of the audio narration
plays even the shapes are not visible until using preview.
Whats the deal with that, captivate can't import any audio
contained in powerpoint or show animation in the design view?

Hello again
Okay. Where there is a will there is usually a way, no? If
you were to visit a Radio Shack store and obtain a small patch
cable, you could insert the cable into both the Speaker out and the
Microphone In jacks of the PC. (I've used this approach to capture
a song I purchased from iTunes, so I know it works.
The cable should cost less than $5.
The links below may help.

  • Can't locate PowerPoint audio files in Captivate 5

I imported a PowerPoint presentation with audio narration into Captivate 5. The audio plays fine, but I don't know where to find the audio files. They don't appear in the timeline or anywhere else.

i know this is an old post, but i wonder if you might know how to solve this similar problem?
i rec'd a PowerPoint 2010 file and when i bring it into Captivate the audio plays, but i can't find the files.  The narration was done in PowerPoint.  Captivate has the Closed Captions greyed out...so i can't even cut and past the slide notes into closed captions if i want to do that as a low tech workaround.
    any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,

  • MS Powerpoint - Audio track

I'm not sure if this is possible, and I apologise in advance if I'm way off the mark but...
I have created a nice audio soundtrack in logic pro for my MS powerpoint presentation (PPT). I need to put them together and convert into a Flash File for my website. I know there are PC applications to do this, but I wondered if Sountrack Pro could handle this?
Will it accept a PPT file and then allow you to add the soundtrack and save as a flash file.
I've never used the application before and am running very short on time.
    Thanks for your help.
    Craig Egypt

You can't import a PPT into Soundtrack Pro, but I think you can export a presentation as a Quicktime movie in the mac version of PPT. Export your mix from Logic, and you can put them together in QT pro, and export as Flash Video.
    Hope this helps!

  • Import Powerpoint Audio

    Hello fellow Captivate lovers!
I created a powerpoint presention and added audio to it
(slide show > record narration). Next, I imported the
presentation into Captivate. Everything is great except for one
problem. I am unable to import the audio with the slides.
I realize that I can add audio to a captivate project later,
or record the powerpoint presentaion with Captivate. However,
working at a college, my goal is to offer instructors a service
where they can bring me their already created powerpoint
presentations inclucluding audio and convert them to flash using
Captivate. Is this possible?? Is seems strange that I can import an
entire powerpoint presentation except the audio.
    Many Thanks

    Hi there,
Thank you for reaching Adobe Community.
Which version of Captivate you are using?
Is the powerpoint presentation a .ppt or .pptx?
    Thanks!

  • Powerpoint - audio file not playing

Hi I created a PP presentation using PP 2010 and I inserted an audio file to play automatically throughout the whole presentation. I email it to a friend and it plays perfectly on her computer at home. However, when she tries to play it on her laptop at
school (they have Office 2007) the music doesn't play at all.
I've told her to delete the audio file and insert it again but it still isn't working - any suggestions?

What's the format of that audio file? Convert its format to .wmv and re-insert it.
Please copy the audio file onto desktop and directly play it through Windows Media Player, does it work?

  • Presenter 8 crashes after connecting external Firewire cam

    Good day,
We often organize workshops and conferences which I sometimes record with an external camera for later reference by our own staff or to make them available to clients who couldn't attend the presentations.
For a long time I was looking for a tool to synchronise PowerPoint slides with spoken recorded comment (audio/video), since I don't believe in just making slides available to people who couldn't attend the presentation, without the spoken comments of the speaker.
I also believe in slides with as less text as possible, but more with images, schemes and animations to support the speaker's message. But in such a case, the spoken comment is an essential part of the presentation to get the message, since the slides as-such alone don't tell enough.
I installed the trial version of Adobe Presenter 8 to test its suitability for our company marketing and presentation needs.
Adobe Presenter 8 seems to work perfect to synchronise Powerpoint slides and screen actions, together with video recorded by an external webcam, connected via USB to my notebook or via the internal webcam in my notebook.
However, I also want to record presentations, presented in our auditorium and meeting rooms and I want to synchronise in realtime (= during the actual presentation) the Powerpoint slides together with the video/audio from the speaker.  The realtime option avoids the work of recording the speaker on tape or in an MPG or FLV during the actual presentation, uploading the A/V file to my PC and doing the PowerPoint/audio/video synchronisation work afterwards by going through the whole presentation again.
To record the video I therefore use an external semi-pro videocamera (JVC DV-500), since this gives me better possibilities to frame the right image, zoom in/out, better lens, etc ...  in comparison with an ordinary webcam.  The JVC DV-500 can be connected to a computer via a Firewire I/F.
This always worked perfect when we recorded and streamed video/audio using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2.  Adobe Flash Encoder recognizes the via FireWire connected external cam without a problem.
But, when using Adobe Presenter 8 within PowerPoint 2010 to start recording a presentation, and when I switch on the power switch on the external JVC-cam, Adobe Presenter 8 crashes, showing an error "Application encountered an internal error ... report to product support forums, etc ..." and "Adobe-Pr-VC.exe doesn't work anymore", and creating some error log and dump-files on my notebook.
After switching off the external cam and keeping it switched off, and manually deleting in Task Manager still running instances of Presenter-software (Adobe_Pr_VC.exe), and restarting PowerPoint, everything works well again with the USB or internal webcam.
Already deleted Presenter from my notebook, cleaned up registry with CCleaner, reinstalled Presenter, but error keeps on coming back.
Someone any ideas what causes this error?
Software conflict, driver conflict, Adobe Presenter incompatible with external A/V devices, no support of FireWire I/F, ... ?
    Configuration:
    Fujitsu notebook LifeBook T5010
    Windows 7 Pro SP1  32-bit (Dutch version)
Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus (Dutch version)
    Creative webcam connected via USB
External JVC DV-500 videocamera connected via build-in Firewire I/F
Firewire driver was installed by Windows automatically when connecting the cam (msdv.sys 6.1.7600.16385)
The only other real-time encoding software installed is Adobe Flash Media Live encoder 3.2.
Some other usual Adobe stuff (flash player, shockwave player, AIR, reader X, )
The possibility of connecting an external cam to record the speaker and synchronise the PowerPoint and/or screen actions in realtime, would greatly enhance our work.

    Hi,
started Presenter's Video Creator in troubleshoot mode with external Firewire connected cam switched off.
    1. Video Creator started in troubleshoot mode (got the 'troubleshoot' message)
    2. default active cam was the USB webcam (HD screen, SD cam)
    3. started recording
    4. everything worked normal
    5. stopped recording
Result looked fine. Got the normal troubleshoot message, asking to send log files.  Did not do this, since there was no error at this time.
Then repeated the process with exteral FireWire cam.
    1. Video Creator started in troubleshoot mode
    2. default active cam was the USB webcam (HD screen, SD cam)
    3. powered on external JVC camera connected to the notebook via FireWire
    4. Video Creator crashed after windows detected (beep sound) an active appliance on the FireWire port.
Could not even stop recording with Video Creator in a normal way to go to the "send error log to Adobe" procedure.
Instead got a box with the message: "Applications encountered an internal error. If the problem persists, please report on product support forums or contact the support team."
Had to shut down Adobe_Pr_VC.exe manually in Task Manager.
Tried the same procedure with another FireWire appliance, a DV video recorder with a tape of a previously recorded conference session.
Same error, as soon as I powered on the videorecorder, and Windows detected (beep sound) an active appliance on the FireWire port, Video Creator crashed with the same error message as above.
I can't go through the whole workflow to send the error logs to Adobe, since Video Creator crashes from the moment the power of a FireWire appliance is switched on.
No possibility to stop recording in a normal way (SHIFT-END or clicking the icon in system tray).
Had to manually shut down Adobe_Pr_VC.exe in Task Manager again.
Tried again with Adobe Flash Media Live Encorder 3.2 to see how this application reacts, to be sure there is nothing wrong with my notebook or the Windows O/S.
    1. started Flash Media Encoder with external FireWire cam switched off
    2. saw 2 active devices : build in Sirius webcam and external USB Creative webcam
    3. saw image of my webcam in the encoder monitor windows
    4. switched on power on external JVC camera, connected via FireWire
    5. Flash Media Encoder immediatelly recognized "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR". Selected this and image of external cam was shown in the encoder monitor windows.
    6. Could stream FireWire cam image to an external streaming service without a problem.
Conclusion:  a FireWire connected cam does work with other Adobe software. Must be something wrong in the Video Creator software.
Sorry I can't send you the log files, since app in both normal and troubleshoot mode crashes prematurely.
Hope my explanation helps you a bit to find a solution.
    Regards,
    Patrick

  • Inconsistent Replay Window Size

    1. We have published a Captivate movie (powerpoints + audio)
using a window size of 800x600.
    2. To load it on our LMS, I've been told I have to use the
FLASH (SWF) output file along with the AICC option turned on.
    3. Most are able to watch it fine but we've got about 12
people complaining that the window that comes up to play it is too
small. Over 500 are NOT having the problem so it's a VERY small
number but enough that it's an issue that needs to be addressed.
    4. I have looked at a screenshot of this problem and it
appears that the flash file window is cropping 10% of the screen
off the right and cropping 10% of the screen off the bottom.
    5. We all use the same operating system (Windows XP) and
    Internet Explorer version.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this and how to fix
    it??

    Hi Dew_South2002,
Have you confirmed that each user has the same monitor
resolution settings? Also, if the user's monitor setting is 800 x
600 a small portion of the screen might be cut off due to the size
of the "window" created by the LMS. Because a browser window also
includes the Top of the page, about 20 pixels gets clipped from the
overall browser window size so that the page title can display.
Toolbars can also take away about 20 pixels.
I guess I would approach it by going to a good monitor and
writing down the resolution and noting if any toolbars are present.
Then go to an offending machine and do the same and compare the
    notes. Just a thought.

  • Captivate 4 problems with audio import in powerpoint presentations

I am trying to import powerpoint presentations made in powerpoint 2003 which contain audio.
When I import them to captivate 4 I cannot hear the audion on each slide when I hit the play button.
Also, when I go to "Preview" "Play this slide (F3)" I get no audio.
If I "Preview" "Presentation" (F4) the audio plays very fast (like the "chipmunks").
If I "Preview" "From this slide (F8)" I get no sound.
If I "Preview" "The next 5 slides (F10)" I get no sound.
If I double click on the audio timeline and select the "audio" tab in the "Slide Properties" box and click the play button or edit the audio it plays normally.
I need to get this audio done ASAP.  Is there anyone who knows what is going on?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Nathan-LMS,
Can you test your course on SCORM cloud and confirm whether you observe the same behvaior on it? this will help us investigate specific to your LMS.
         1) Bookmark/resume on iPad (iOS 6) : Can you try the same course on SCORM cloud and let us know whether Bookmark/resume working fine or not? We could see this wroking at our end.
         2) Cross-domain AICC communication: Ping me on my mail id, I can provide you complete list of steps to make HTML5 content work in cross domain.
         3) Dual format publishing course plays only in IE9 or chrome 20(or above). Can you try it and let us know?
         4) Cross-platform bookmark/resume should work fine. Can you try the same scenario using SCORM cloud and let us know the behavior.
Any querries you can send me a mail to [email protected]

  • Adobe Presenter 9 and PowerPoint 2013 - Missing Import Audio from PowerPoint button

I am only able to intermitantly use the Import button in Adobe Presenter 9 to Import Audio from PowerPoint. Why would I be able to do it on some presentations but not all? I thought it was an audio conversion issue but even when I convert the audio (when prompted by PowerPoint) it doesn't always allow me to import it.

I have found a solution if the original PowerPoint was a ppt file, follow these steps:
File > Save As a pptx file
Close PowerPoint (this helps with not corrupting the file)
    Re-open the pptx file
    File > Convert
Save with a new file name (this helps with not corrupting the file)
You should now have the Import from Presentation button if you go to the Presenter tab and click the Import button
I have not found a solution for pptx files yet.

  • Issues with inserting audio in PowerPoint option

I am trying to insert audio from the "Online Audio" option in PowerPoint 2013 however when the Insert Audio window pops-up with nothing in it. It is blank. Does anyone know how to fix? I have tried running a repair on Office 2013 the same thing
    still happens.

    Hi,
I found a thread with a similar issue, please check if the reply from George to check the Trusted App Catalogs is helpful to you:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/7558fb7a-3991-4b6d-9fa3-f8ee349a4105/powerpoint-insert-online-audio-box-empty?forum=officeitpro
Add website URL in the Trusted App Catalogs from FILE -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> Trusted App Catalogs -> Add the catalog url and check if then you can use the url to search Online Audio.

  • No audio on keynote from Powerpoint.

Went importing Powerpoint presentation I am unable to get the audio.

    Reply to https://discussions.apple.com/people/Edward%20Escobar

I opened directly from my email on my Apple laptop.  I opened it using Keynote from PowerPoint file.  How do I change it and insert anything?  It just did not have audio output.  Period.
BTW, I did the same thing on any PC.  Voila!  No problem.  PowerPoint on PC works like a charm.  I am not happy with Keynote that I thought would take care of my PowerPoint files from my Macbook pro.  What else could I do?  Hopefully, Apple will update to solve this audio music problem of PowerPoint in the near future.  Only Apple authority could help me.
I wonder if I could write my feedback from the Keynote purchased ($9.99).  It wasted my dollars.  Maybe I can have refund.

  • How can i get my audio files to work on other computers in powerpoint?

I have made a powerpoint presentation for a class. The task was to record ourselves speaking and import the audio files to go along with a slideshow presentation. I recorded in GarageBand and imported the files to iTunes and then into my presentation. The slideshow works on my computer, but once I try to play it on any other computer (both Mac and PC) the audio files are "unavailable" and don't play. What do I need to do so that the files can play?

I don't use PowerPoint much these days, but I found this...
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/embedded-and-linked-sound-file s-in-a-presentation-HA001230307.aspx
(It says to put the audio files in the same folder as the presentation file.)

  • Issue / problem adding audio in Presenter 7 (PowerPoint 2010)

Since I got a new PC (Windows 7), I'm having an issue / problem adding audio in Presenter 7 (PowerPoint 2010).
It doesn’t happen every time, but randomly with many presentations...
In PowerPoint, right after I import audio (through Presenter) and click “ok”, I get the following errors:
Then, I can't get into the "import/sync/edit" mode, from the Presenter tab...
Already tried reinstalling Presenter, resaving new presentations, deleting the .ppcx/audio folders, importing the audio locally (vs from my network drive), etc.
Then sometimes, randomly, it will let me get back in and edit the audio, after numerous attempts…?!? I can't figure out what the pattern is, which is causing this new problem (never had this problem before, w/ my old PC - Win XP / PowerPoint 2003 / Presenter 6 & 7)
Anybody have an idea what the issue could be?
    Thanks,
    Mike P.
