Powerpoint font size different in Captivate 5

When I create a slide in PowerPoint with say a font of Verdana 14 and then I use it to create a Captivate 5 project size 960 x 720, the text increases in size to a font of Verdana 20. Is there any reason why this may happen?

Hi again,
I will try to check it out, but not immediately. What was the resolution of the Powerpoint? Do you compare with a CP-file created with previous versions from a PPT?

    Hi,
I am using a single jsp to display result for different regions. But for all except one, the font size is same but it differs for one.It looks slight bigger where as I have not put any condition based on the region to change the font size.
Its beahving unusual with such different font sizes, does not look formatted.
Look forward to a reply soon.

Suppose this is a part of the jsp code.

  • Make spry child font size different from parent

    Hi you all,
Hi am using the old spry menu. This works for me so i dont need the spry ui menu.If you want to make the child text font sixe and padding different create your own selectors.
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li a
        font-size: 12px;
        padding: .2em 1em;
works fine instead of having every thing been the same.

    thank you very much, Nancy!

The position of Spry Menu Bar submenus is controlledby the margin
    property on submenu ul tags.
    1. Locate the ul.MenuBarVertical ul or ul.MenuBarHorizontalul rule.
    2. Change the margin: -5% 0 0 95%; default values to the desired
    values.

Also, look through the CSS coments for IE hacks. Often these
workarounds for older browsers can be commented out or deleted.
Test before you delete anything permanently.

  • Font size different in different systems.

    Hi.
I have a sapscipt form which is printing using font HELVE 48.
In the development system the font size is fine however in other systems the font size is much smaller. ( Note, If I print to LOCL everything is ok but I do not want the users priniting to LOCL ).
The Layout sets and print programs are identical in both systems.
I have checked the printer setup in these system via transaction SPAD and all seems to be in order.
I have also checked the systems to see if the fonts exist and this seems ok as well.
Has anyone come across this before and if so what did they have to do to correct this.
    Any response would be appreciated
    JK

    Case 1:
You must be having the font installed in yur OS. Go to Control Panel-> Font and check it out. IF its not there, add it and the check in SAP.
Choose the path of this font file in se73.
    Case 2 :
Use the progarm RSTXSF01 to instal new font
See the link for more info
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5f/9d6064a7b111d18dff0000e83dd9fc/content.htm
    Case 3:
see SE72 to create a new font family in SAP
    Check the below link:
    http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/sapbs043.htm
Create a new font type with the spool administrator (SPAD)
When you need some different fonts other than those available in the standard SAP system,
you'll have to create those different fonts size manually for the device types that you are using.

  • DPI, pt units, font size, different screens, real physical size?

    Hi,
Usually the default dpi are 96dpi but we can set our screen dpi... But the only application I know that seems to work is in the evince(pdf reader) where I can very accurately see the real size of a paper/document...
I've 2 laptops now, and I was expecting that setting the correct DPI in each laptop they would display the same font size... for example in urxvt where you set the font size in pt units... But this doesn't happens...
Actually, I was expecting that the fonts displayed in the screen had +- the same size of the ones printed on a paper... But I can't achieve that.
Anyone can explain this? Our point me the right place where I can read about this?
    Thanks

    Here's a link to a screen DPI calculator; http://members.ping.de/~sven/dpi.html
Sorry to say, but I can't help you more. Recently my screen DPI went haywire for some apps like urxvt, but not for others. I posted about it but got no help at all.
But since my years in the printing industry I know that in Europe a point (pt) is 0,353 m m. So if you get that constant on your screen you've got true WYSIWYG. But it seems that these measurements aren't important in the linux world.
Hope it helps on the way ...
PS wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_(typography) where they define a postscript point as 0,3527 mm.

  • TLF Font Size different from Word, Excel, Google Docs

I have Times New Roman size 10 font.  In Word, Excel, and Google Docs the height of "Mg" in pixels is 12 but in my application and in the TLF Demo application the height is 9 pixels.
    Anyone know why?
    Thanks

fontSize in FlashPlayer is in pixels not points and FlashPlayer has a 72 DPI screen resolution (see flash.system.Capabilities.screenDPI).  These other apps may have a better handle on actual screen DPI.  You could try scaling the fontSize setting.

  • When I create a stickie note, I can not save any font size other than the default.  How do I save a stickie with a larger or different font?

How do I save a stickie note with a different font size other than the default?  When I create a note and save it using a larger font, it reopens with the default.

    Unlikely, I'm afraid.
The LMS has no control over the playbar that pauses or plays the Captivate content.
In a Multi SCORM package, the LMS also may be showing a TOC in the SCORM player with links to launch the lesson modules.  This TOC is in addition to the TOC inside the Captivate project file which gives access to sections of the module by jumping to slides that begin those sections.  But the LMS doesn't usually give you any control over the look and feel or functionality of that TOC either.
If your client is adamant that they want complete control over these areas, then your best option may be NOT to build this course with Captivate but build it from the ground up with another tool.  E.g. Flash, or Dreamweaver.  Either way, that will add a lot more time and expense to the project.  But if the client has the budget and is unwilling to budge on their requirement, then that's what I would be telling them to do.

  • Different font sizes in Explorer and Safari

Hi there, before I go completely nuts can someone give me a
hand with figuring out how I can get my plain old body text to
display at the same size in both Explorer and Safari.
I am using a Mac myself, but when entering text at size 1, it
is displaying larger in Explorer (at about the size I want) and
very small in Safari (too small to be easily readable). I have done
some research and thought cascading style sheets might be the way
to go but I have also read that the some text problems occur when
    using cascading style sheets.
I haven't bothered with them previously as there hasn't been
that much text to bother with them.
Has anyone got any tips, or has used CSS to fix this problem?
    Regards,
    Elle V
p.s. if you are using a mac, you can check out what I mean by
    viewing www.homestylefinance.com.au/company.html in both browsers.
I would be interested in hearing from a PC user to see if they are
    seeing the same thing.

You can define your text sizes in many different ways:
    points, pixels, em,
    percentages, etc.
I personally use a percentage to define my base font-size in
    my style sheet,
and then declare different text sizes in em's for different
    selectors. I'd
stay away from points (which it sounds like you're using them
    - due to the
fact that cross-browser display varies). I'd also stay away
    from pixels,
because IE users can not resize their browser text size.
My personal suggestion would be to use em's to declare your
    font sizes. Here
is an example of something you could put in your CSS document
    (which you'll
    want to start using):
    body { font-size: 100%; }
    .text1 { font-size: .75em }
    HTH, take care.

  • Font sizes changed on different boxes.

    Hello everyone,
I have a dilemna regarding my SMARTFORMS. The problem goes that on the DEV box the font sizes and working ok but when the forms were transported to the Staging (STG) box, the font sizes are smaller than those from DEV box. I am using SMARTSTYLE and a custom font. I have checked the forms and smartstyle from both boxes and they are exactly the same. The custom font is also installed in SE73. Now I don't know what to do next. Please help.

    Hi ,
You dont have to ask them to create a new one . They will configure printers to other clients . You ask them whether u have have to use lpo1 or some other device type for printing in ur client .
I also faced the same problem . In development it worked fine where as in qa it gave the same font problems .
your basis person might have created some different output device in place of  lp01 .

  • How to set different pointsize  (Font Size) for different text range in the single textframe.

I have a one textframe in which i want to  set three different pointsize(font size) for three different text ranges. I have set different tag name for different text ranges . So How can I set different pointsize in the single texmframe.

    Jack,
Extending Martti's post, you can create an XSLT that will add an element around the ASD2.1 part when you import the XML file into FrameMaker. Then FrameMaker's EDD can format this added element with a font different from the one used in the content element.

  • Adobe Captivate 7: Change font size of imported localized closed captions

I'm attempting to use the export/import captions functionality in Captivate 7 and when I import the text, the imported Japanese characters are HUGE. The font in the imported Word doc aren't that big and I'm unsure how to adjust the imported closed captions to they display correctly. As you can see below, the characters are way too big. • Photoshop showing two different sizes for same font size

    Hi folks,
I've been using Photoshop for a long time, but this problem has popped very rarely along the way and some how remedied itself - I'd like to know this time what's causing it, and how to solve it.
I'm in a Photoshop document, and I'm working with two different text areas. Both area registering as 14px in size in the Type menu, and yet, they're radically different in size. One is tiny, whilst the other is at least twice, maybe thrice the size. Why is this happening?
I've checked there's no overlapping text areas and things like that, everything should be fairly normal, it just isn't.
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 x64 for Mac, running on a Macbook Pro Retina 1.83ghz and 8GB ram
    Thanks in advance

it seems is that in CS6 when you change your font size using free transform - it "remembers" the original pt size when you select the text itself in a certain way:
    The Problem
I am writing the text in 50 pt size
I duplicated the document and scaled the text using free transform in 150%
now when I click inside the text more than once and select some of the letters or even just move the indicator more than once
it shows me it is still 50pt which is of course not true.
so as it appears photoshop can occasionally give you the text size before you made a transformation
    The Solution
a way to get around that is to click only once and drag through at the same time with the first initial click
now you can see the true font size is 75 pt and not 50 pt.
to contribute to the confusion it appears the font size in the toolbar stays the same "wrong" size so beware of that
and if you want to be really sure you can select just the layer in the layer panel (not the text)
and you will get your "true" font size.
I made the same test in photoshop CC  14.2.1 and it does not act this way but instead it gives you the "true" font size even if you scale it in free transform
and select clicking more than once.
hope this will clarify the matter.

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Quiz(Matching)  Drop down list font size too small.

    Hi,
We are using Adobe Captivate 4.  Quiz (Matching).  Exported to SWF.
The drop down list fonts are small. We want to use bigger font in the drop down list, but cant find a way.
    Any one can help?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Formatting Question slides in CP is sometimes a pain. I cannot give you a proper answer, but it would be great if you filed a feature request to the team to have more control over the styles used in this dropdown list (link is in the main page of this forum). If we are many to ask for such enhancements, it will get higher on the priority list.
As you probably discovered, in the Properties of the dropdown lists in the Matching Question slide you can only change font and color, not font size. My proper workaround is choosing a font that gives the best result, some fonts really look bigger than others. This is not always consistent with the styles in the rest of the movie, but I adapt all the Text in Question slides to this choosen font.
Sorry not to be able to help you. Question slides are in the folder, but in SWC-format, and I cannot open those files, even though I have Flash CS4 installed. Perhaps a Flash-wise guy will pop in to help you.

  • Font size in Photoshop looks totally different in Web

    Hello,
i have a very strange problem. Im using Photoshop CS6 right now to make some modifications to my website.
We are using font type Arial 12pt in the PSD file and also Arial 12pt in the web. But in the web the font looks much bigger than in the psd file.
When we save the PSD as a JPG file in browser and compare it to the website the fonts of the JPG file look fine but in the web they look much bigger.
It seems we have to use 12px in the Web so it will look same like 12pt in PSD.
But im very confused by this. How is that possible? Or what are we doing wrong?
    thanks

The web runs on pixels, not point. Depending on the default browser font size, system font sizes and a million factors the dynamically rendered type in the browser can always look different. Even assuming 72 dpi isn't exactly true any longer due to high-DPI displays and browsers using other logic internally. that and of course the CSS formatting on the web site can override certain things as well... Complicated subject with no easy answers. Generally you should expect that it will look off more than expecting it to look right under all conditions.
