PowerPoint Hyperlink to swf file

I'm calling a 384x320 swf file from Powerpoint. When the
hyperlink is clicked, it opens up the swf file, but it opens it up
in a maximized window. Is there any code I can add to the address
that will allow the window to be opened up to the proper size? I
could possibly do this calling up a browser, but I want to keep it
simple.

I did find one workaround that seems to work. I created an
AutoIt exe file that opens up the exe version of the swf file, and
then restores the window from its maximized state. It won't run the
swf file though.

I have just installed SAP Dashboard and converted all the previous graphs from Xcelsius 2008 to this new version (save new graphs). After exporting to PowerPoint all these new graphs, the PowerPoint file with all of these graphs has increased dramatically in a double size file. How can I do to reduce this size?

  • Insert hyperlinks to swf file

    Hello!
I have a swf file which consists of 3 movie clips (3 swf
files). When the 1st movie clip fades out, the 2nd one fades in.
And the same for the 3rd one. I want to insert 3 individual links
to the 3 movie clips so that when people click on the 1st movie, it
links to page A of my website and cliks on the 2nd movie links to
    page B and so on.
Can anyone advise how to do that?
    Thanks!
    Ken

Give your clips instance names and you can then reference
    them with
ActionScript. There's a perfect example in the Help - Global
    Functions -
getURL. Check out the example using onRelease to send a mail.

  • Hyperlinks to pdf files not working when project is exported out as SWF and uploaded to server

    hI all
I'm using CS5 and i have hyperlinks to pdf files in my indesign project. However when i export to SWF, although the links work locally, they do not work when i upload all the relevant folders and files and test it from a server the links to the pdfs can not be found, the error messages indicates its looking for the files on my hard drive. I have also noticed that if i copy all the relevant folders and files and exported swf to a different directory and then launch swf from there the links do not work there either.
Other than seperately uploading each pdf indvidually on to the server and then creating a hyperlink to it from the local indesign project i don't know what else to do.
    Any advice much appreciated.

I have your same problem, but didn't consider uploading the PDFs and then linking to them. I'm willing to try it. Let me know if you ever found a better way, ok?
    Thanks.

  • How to Hyperlink SWF File

Sorry if this was already discussed, hyperlink swf hit nothing here and I don't know what else to search.
I placed a client's .swf file in my web page and I am unable to hyper-link it back to her site.
    What am I missing?

    > I use Flash so I build my links within the SWF file.
If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    2. Search engines don't parse Flash links - your site will not be spidered
    most likely
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what will those users
    do?
    4. Your authoring cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do? You will have
    to remake those buttons.
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons - and for these reasons,
Adobe has removed Flash buttons and Flash text from the next version of
    Dreamweaver.
With regard to the 'over Flash' question, all Active content on a page will
always rise to the top, so to speak, including Flash, certain form elements,
Java applets, and Active X controls.
This means that each of these will poke through layers. There is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can use the Flash
wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this properly!).

  • How do you get URL hyperlinks to work in SWF files?

    I have exported an InDesign
file to SWF and all the interactive elements work fine apart from my hyperlinks to websites. I have searched the forums and have figured out how to get this to work by changing the server setting on my machine. The problem is I am looking to email this publication to people and it is unrealistic for me to ask everyone to change their server settings every time. Surely there must be a simple way to get hyperlinks to work in SWF files??

I´m afraid there´s not... it´s flash players security setting. And security setting that anybody can workaround is not a good security setting... you just have to live with it....
Put your SWF to server and attach a link to it into your email message.... all hyperlinks works if SWF is in the server.

  • Dead hyperlinks when exporting indesign to swf file

I have a problem when I export a document to a swf. I have constructed ten boxes (features) with colour and text that link to pages. When I export to PDF they all work fine and dandy, but as soon as I try it as an SWF, with page turning, at least three of the hyperlinks stop. I have tried deleting and restarting and have even rebuilt the button. After that the hyperlinks have worked, but two or three of the others stop working. Is there a limit on the number of links per page?
    Regards
    David

Hi there, can you help me I can't get my hyperlinks to work when exporting a swf file. Do you know the code to get a button or a text to go to a webapge. I have used the get URL in the interactive menu and it doesn't work. I have then put in a get URL script which works but does point at the desired web page but into the route folder of my flip book.  Any tips please  Kind regards  Ian

  • Tools to create a Flash 7 SWF file from Powerpoint for deployment to 4305G?

    Hi there,
    We are using
    4305G DMPs running firmware 5.2.1
    DMM 5.2.2
We have an internal customer who wishes to find a tool to create Flash 7 (or Cisco DMS compatible Flash SWF) files from Powerpoint to deploy to the DMPs. The customer is currently using a tool called iSpring to create Flash SWF files out of Powerpoint files, but this will not display through the DMPs running 5.2.1 firmware.
    http://www.ispringsolutions.com/ispring_presenter_pro_now_ispring_pro.html
    What other options are available?
The underlying business need is to reduce the time it takes to create presentations for deployment to the Digital Media Players.
    Any advice much appreciated,
    Regards,
    Kathy

Not sure if this helps but I use Camtasia's powerpoint plugin to convert presentations that have animation into video files in either swf/flv or wmv format.  For standalone powerpoint presentations that do not include animations I simply use a program called PPTools which allows me to export high quality images from my presentations without losing any quality.

  • Help for PowerPoint 2007 crash when running embedded SWF file with latest Flash Player?

I have developed in Xcelsius 2008 SP4 a dashboard with only Excel as the source. I output to PowerPoint and then save it as a PowerPoint 2003 PPS file. On more than a few machines that have PowerPoint 2007, PowerPoint crashes when I attempt to run the presentation. This happens only with later versions of Flash Player. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the latest Flash Player but it still crashes. However, when I revert back to Flash Player 10.1.159..., in PP 2007 the presentation runs perfectly.
With regard to the error I receive in PowerPoint 2007, it is as follows:
    Error Signature:
    AppName: powerpnt.exe AppVer: 12.0.6500.5000 AppStamp:49a68f9d
    ModName: flash10u.ocx ModVer: 10.3.181.34 ModStamp:4e011a1d
    fDebug: 0 Offset: 003a893c
Of note is that this behavior does not happen in PowerPoint 2003 nor does it happen when the file is saved as a SWF and launched directly in the browser on the problem machines.
I have to assume that this has happened to others so any help you could provide would be VERY appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello,
on the first glance I see these: data="file:///Macintosh HD/Users/user/Documents/Website/Working.swf", what means the path to your swf file is pointing to your local hard drive which nobody can see except you. Please replace all thes pathes with the correct ones and load up your file(s) again.
If the problem remains, please send a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like..

  • Add hyperlink or hotspot to swf file in Dreamweaver?

Hello how can I make a hyperlink (or a hotspot) on a swf file
in Dreamweaver. I don't want to use flash to create the hyperlink.
    Help!
    Pete O'Connell

    You can't
SWF files will always migrate to the top of the layer pile so
    anything
created will be behind the movie. Only way to do this is from
    within Flash.
    Sorry.

  • Hyperlinks and External SWF Files

I am building a site for the company I work for and within
the main flash CS3 document for the site I have a portfolio gallery
with 8 sections. I created a flash file for each category and made
a swf file where I loaded them in my main flash document. They each
have their own layer and on their layer I placed a loader component
for each movie so the gallery will show up when I click on that
    specific button.
My problem is that in some of the galleries I want to direct
my viewers to another place within another swf file.
Example: If I have a picture displaying a piece of artwork
and I have another piece of artwork that relates to it and I want
    to see that also.
How do I create that link to go to another place in another
movie (swf file). Is this even possible? Help me please.
I am using actionscript 2.0 I have attached a temporary site
address for a better idea of what I need help with. Go to the
    portfolio section.

  • Hyperlink link to file - PDFs, SWF

I'm creating an interactive Indesign file. Linking PDFs from Indesign to the PDF file. Then wanting to load it on to a CD to give to some of our sales agents. The problem is though, when I'm linking to the PDF file from Indesign it created a path. So once the files are moved on to CD the paths do not work, because they are thrying to look onto my harddrive/server.
Is there a way to create a CD with the SWF file where the text links to PDFs will work?
    Thanks for any advice

wow that is really neat. But the files I'm working with are broken down like this. It's so hard to explain by emails sometimes...urrrrrrrrrrrr
    1 indesign document
    5 PDFs
    The indesign document:
has buttons that jump to other pages
does the page curl (hence why I would like to use the SWF file over the PDF)
The indesign document has a page of text links that opens PDF files
I would like people to see the PDFs as actual PDF files incase they want to save or print them
The problem occurs when I make the SWF:
I give the SWF file to someone else to open and it says that they can't find the PDF path....because it is on my computers hard drive
Ideally I would like to use the SWF with the page curl feature and have the ability to have people open the PDF files
Some people mentioned Disk Image and then relinking to the disk image (which I have no idea about)
Some mentioned relinking PDFs through Acrobat
Some mentioned taking the SWF and placing in PDF
I don't know since I'm mainly a print designer, trying to expand into multi media. Please help!

  • Using Acrobat to create a PDF from .swf files

I'm trying to beef up a standard powerpoint presentation into something i could have more control over, and was considering Acrobat as it would (i hoped) allow me to import .swf files from Flash. In reading up on just how flexible acrobat is though, it doesn't really seem to have all of the functionality that i want - if anyone could offer feedback on the following, that would be great in terms of clearing up the queries that i have beforehand!
essentially, i want to create a PDF file which will open fulllscreen on any machine with no toolbars, windows, additional content in the window except my PDF content. So i would have a central shape/box, which would be white, on which i have text.
I want this to open centrescreen, fullscreen, with no acrobat reader branding / navigation visible at all. Similar to the way a powerpoint document would open, however - i don't want Adobe Reader to scale my PDF at all.
I've set my canvas in flash to 1024x768, and i would want Reader to display my file at exactly 1024x768 pixels, and not scale the document up to suit different monitors. So in a way, utilising something like you could with a Flash projector file where you could set the fullscreen's "allowscale" function to "false" (keeping the document at exactly 100%) and the actual fullscreen call itself to "true" (display the document in fullscreen mode, taking over your entire monitor).
Also, i would want to specify a 'background', which is simple in flash as i can just create an oversized movie clip with whatever i want to appear in the background, and this will cover any excess area in monitors that exceed my canvas size. (So i usually create a movie clip of an image or gradient for the background that measures 2600 x 1600 pixels). Will acrobat be able to render this correctly, or is it just going to display the actual canvas size and exclude my oversized 'background' movie clip? If i use my 1024 x 768 canvas, will it clip the big background movie clip to fit?
Thanks folks... bit long winded but i just wanted to make sure i've covered the bases!

Like it or not, InDesign is a color managed application, and your files are all being managed.
You'll always have less grief if the working spaces match the output, but that isn't always possible. If you want to to convert to the profiles specified in the CSF file, choose one of the "Convert to Profile" settings and select the correct profile as the destination. You'll have two options, preserve numbers, or don't preserve numbers.
Preserving numbers will cause colors to shift, but will preserve 100% K blacks. Not preseving numbers will change the numbers to give you the closes match possible in appearance, but will royally screw up your 100% K type if going to press.

  • Is there a plug-in to view swf. files?

Is there a plug-in for mac QT that allows viewing swf. files? I am a teacher and I want to be able to embed swf. files into powerpoint, which means I need QT to be able to read swf. I can find full apps that will do it, but it has to be QT to work in powerpoint since it uses QT as its engine.

Kirkster, give the security concern a break, you' ve posted this repeatedly, In the old Windows forum. No media player puts you at such a risk as QuickTime and iTunes do. If Mac computers can't play the files it's a problem  with Apple

  • Email Button Doesn't Work in SWF File

It may be a Flash Security issue... upload SWF to server, open it to browser from there and try your links again...
