PowerPoint Import in Captivate 7

So i imported my PowerPoint project in Captivate and i chose the High Fidelity option but, the transitions are missing? Doesn't everything come in intact? Please help?

Hi There,
Welcome To Adobe Forum.
We would like to inform you that transitions does not work in captivate if they are imported through powerpoint slides.
However you can apply transitions through inside captivate.
Thanks

  • The powerpoint import in Captivate 5 cannot be normally processed

I just installed Adobe Captivate 5 with Adobe elearing Suite 2, Since I've already installed Adobe CS5 Master Collection, The installation only added Captivate 5 in my computer(for I use office 2010, which version of office has no compatibility with Presenter 7, so it hadn't been installed), but when I choose import from powerpoint in the welcome interface of Cp 5 and then I choose a ppt or pptx file which I wanna import, when it began to import, it was extremely slow, even "No Responding"! It showed no difference with .ppt or .pptx files. In other words, it cannot import any slides now! How do I slove this problem?

I am also having problems importing PPT 2010 into Captivate 5. On the first attempt, it imported the PPT files with about 13 errors. It could not read shadowed text correctly. The size of the imported file doubled!
Since that attempt, Captivate 5 will not import PPT 2010 files at all. I receive the following error message: Cannot import the selected file. Refer to the documentation to ensure that you have installed the correct version of Microsoft Office. I have even uninstalled/reinstalled PPT 2010 (rebooting twice of course).
On an other site related to Adobe TV the statement is made that importing of PPT 2010 files has not been properly tested. If this is the case, why is adobe advertising that Captivate is PPT 2010 compatible?
In response to my feed back I received the following email: "A moderator has removed your comment to http://tv.adobe.com/watch/rich-media-in-technical-documentation/adobe-captivate-and-adobe- presenter-the-best-of-both-worlds/".

  • Not all my PowerPoint slides import into Captivate 3

I am trying to import a 62-slide presentation in PowerPoint 2003 to Captivate 3, but only 10 slides will import. I am not sure what is causing the other 52 slides to not be recognized. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Jennifer

    Jennifer,
Does it always stop on Slide 11?  The reason I am asking is that if this the case then look on that particular slide to see what is different from the rest.
Another suggestions, select all slides, then deselect slide 11 (assuming above applies) and try it, hopefully it will bring all 61 in then.  If not pick a bunch at a time and see where it fails - you are looking for a pattern of failures to pick the offending element.

  • Horrific PowerPoint Import

Anyone know why PowerPoint files import into Captivate with low resolution images? The PowerPoint file has high res images, but in Captivate, looks horrfic.

What's probably happening here is that the size of the Captivate stage is very different from the PPT sizing, and that's causing some loss of resolution when it scales.
If you have Captivate 6, try using the new High Fidelity import setting.
If on an older version of Cp, see if you can modify the setup of the PPT file so that it matches the Captivate slide.  Perhaps that will help. However, (and I know this is NOT what you're going to want to hear) for the ultimate solution that would keep your images at highest resolution, you'd probabl need to build the presentation in Captivate from the start using the same assets.

  • I cannot open a Powerpoint presentation in Captivate 8.  Any ideas as to why?

I cannot open a Powerpoint presentation in Captivate 8.  I'm following the directions to double-click on the "From Powerpoint" icon to start a project.  I can double-click on a PP project, but then I get a message "Unable to import.  File may be damaged."  I know my files are fine.  Any ideas as to why I cannot open?

I realize this was a few months back. But I had this problem and exchanged numerous emails with support, with NO resolution.
I was running Windows 8.1 and Captivate 8 (64 bit).
Finally (and I should've tried this much earlier on) I decided to uninstall 64-bit Captivate and try 32-bit.
Voila. Problem solved. 32-bit imports .pptx files perfectly.
Hope this might be helpful for anyone else encountering this.

  • How synchronize animated powerpoint objects in Captivate 5.5

I'm testing Captivate 5.5 creating LMS content for our company. I have a powerpoint presentation with animations at some slides. This animations were triggered by mouse click, when I now bring in this powerpoint presentation to Captivate I have only one slide object but no animated objects. This means I can't ad a sound record and sychronize this sound file with the animated object. Have any one an idea how I can synchronize existing powerpoint objects with a soundfile?
    Appreciate and help.
    Thx
    Mario

Hello and welcome to the forum,
For this purpose I sincerely believe that Adobe Presenter is a better choice that Captivate. Indeed, Powerpoint slides are imported as one movie in Captivate.  Captivate is not in the first place a PPT-plugin, animations are better done in Captivate if you want to synchronize. PPT-import is only one feature of Captivate, and IMO not really the most important. I'm telling this because of your sentence 'testing Captivate 5.5...'. If your elearning modules are really presentations like Powerpoint you'd better use a plug in (Adobe Presenter or other applications). Adding audio and synchronizing will then happen in Powerpoint. Or you can add the audio in PPT itself and import then in Captivate, which is in that case just used as a converter, and not really for what is meant to do.
Hope you'll understand my answer, I'm always frustrated when Captivate is tested based on a PPT-conversion whereas all its more important features are just ignored.

  • Cannot edit PowerPoint from within Captivate 5

    Hi all,
I've imported PowerPoint slides into Captivate 5, and when I click "Edit PowerPoint (Presentation or Slide", Captivate freezes on the "Creating Temp File" window.  It never moves past 0%.  I've attached a screenshot.  I've tried multiple times to edit the PPT, but cannot get it to link back to the file.  Any suggestions?  I'm on a tight deadline.
    Thank you!
    Jen

    Hi Dana,
Is it possible for you to share the .ppt file with us so that we can investigate the issue on our end...? Please send the file [email protected]
    Thanks,

  • When I copy and paste a powerpoint slide into Captivate the slide is blurry how do I fix that

When I copy and paste a powerpoint slide into Captivate the slide is blurry how do I fix that

Have you tried importing it with standard workflow instead of coyping and pasting.
Is the resolution of your powerpoint presentation and Captivate Project same, make sure it is same, else, it would rescale it to fit on the sldie, rescaling might detoriate the quality.
    Thanks,

  • PowerPoint Slides into Captivate Responsive Project

I would like to bring a PowerPoint presentation into captivate using the responsive project functions. Basically, I would like to use my PowerPoint slides but be able to format them for mobile use as well. How should I go about this?

You cannot import PPTslides in Responsive projects

  • PowerPoint importing and editing

I'm fairly new to captivate with very little training.  What I know, which is very basic, I have figured out by trial and error. The agency I work for just upgraded to Captivate 8.  I would like to know more about developing in PowerPoint, importing the PowerPoint to captivate and then editing the material.  I have figured out how to import individual PowerPoint slides, but not a complete course.  Do you have any suggestions on where I could find this information?  Another question I have is, how do you account for this size difference when developing something in PowerPoint and importing it to an 800 X 600 captivate?  As an agency, we set a standard to us an 800 X 600 captivate size.

Importing PPT-slides is not a good idea, if you want to edit the slides, because each PPT-slide will be converted into sort of a movie slide. The different objects will not be editable. If you want a PPT plug-in there are other and better solutions. Captivate is a real eLearning tool. Use the assets and create the CP-file from scratch if you want to edit. And it is not even possible to use PPT-slides for responsive projects in Captivate.
To create a CP-file from a PPT, use File, New Project, Project from MS Powerpoint. The CP-file will choose a resolution that is the same as the PPT-file. One of the crazy ideas of PPT is that slide size is in print units (in or cm) instead of the more logical screen units (px).

  • How to reduce PowerPoint to fit captivate 6 project

I want to pull in a created PowerPoint to my Captivate project. My Captivate project needs to be 640x480 but some of the PowerPoints come in at a much larger size. When I reduce them the images are distorted. How can I alter the PowerPoint to come in smaller from the beginning?

You can adjust the size of your presentation in Power Point by going to the design ribbon in the 2010 version.  Then select page set up.  It will return a pop up box that allows you to adjust the size of your power point.  You may have to figure out the number of pixels per inch before setting the size in Power Point.
I use Power Point almost exclusively to create our recordings.  I never have an issue with importing the larger size Power Point and then using the resize or rescale option.  It does appear blury on the screen but it clears up great upon publising.  Before trying to resize the Power Point I would suggest you publish your file to see if it clear enough for your end product.

  • Importing other Captivate Slides

When I import other captivate slides or objects into my
current project, if I try to save after that point, my system
becomes unstable and Captivate comes up "Not Responding" and will
not close by any means other than a system restart.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Solutions??

I am having the same problem. When I import a slide, any
slide, and try to save the project with the imported slide, the
application goes, really, really, slow. My computer has 1GB of Ram.
When Windows XP is finished loading, I still have 500MB of RAM for
applications. I also checked to make sure this incident was not
isolated on my computer. So I installed Captivate 2 on another
computer with 1GB of RAM and it still had the same problem I
described above. The funny thing is, if I leave my computer on
overnight, the import finally works. But that is absurd, Captivate
2 users can't wait more than 5 min for a slide to import. Somebody
help me! Is their an upgrade I am not aware of?

  • Autoscale small (powerpoint-imported) presentation to a larger screen?

I wished to demo KN to some PC colleagues at work, and just imported a very trivial powerpoint file into Keynote.
I can see everything comes OK but whenever I ask Keynote to just run the show, it presents it in a very small rectangle on my large 17' screen. (the surrounding zone is black)
Needless to say, when I use powerpoint the same presentation auto-scales niftily to use all screen surface available
I didn't dare show this to anyone, because I can already hear the laughs: How can I get the same "auto-scaling" effect that they have on powerpoint?
(also: is the issue due to the powerpoint import, or is it general to Keynote?)
    TIA!

Thanks Tulse for such a quick answer -I'm a bit ashamed now
