Powerpoint jpeg problems

I am importing PowerPoint jpegs onto a DV timeline. I resized them to fit at 640x480 and they look pretty good. Then when I export them to QuickTime, the images get corrupted somehow in the new QT file. The text looks jagged, like the interlace got messed up. Is there a way to treat these jpegs before export so they look good for down conversion to .wmv.
I also noticed when I export using QuickTime conversion, the render area above the jpegs on the time turns red. Howcome?
Thanks!

JPEGs are compressed images to start with, so there can be some loss there. If you are using a DV timeline, more loss there. You probably want to bring the images into Photoshop and use the DV preset with aspect for proper sizing of the image, could be an issue there. Take a look for "working with still images" section, page III-338 in the 5.1 PDF (not in front of my 6.x PDF right now)
The render bar means the JPEGs need to be rendered to another Codec.

  • Powerpoint charts problem

    I am trying to create a simple regular XY plot.
    Unfortunately, i have problems with the x-axis.
    I would like the x-axis to be labeled with 0, 10000, 20000, etc.
    So i configered the x-axis to be a time scale (category is worse, because x-values don't behave linearly).
    But whatever i do, the labels of the x-axis are always some weird sequence of numbers ...
    In this screenshot you can see what happens: http://zach.in.tu-clausthal.de/graph_problem.png
    Even when i enter something like 10 and 350000 for Min/Max, Graph changes them to something else.
    Also, i can't enter 0 for the Min.
    Any help, ideas, suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Gabriel.

    A little more research: Running the conversion to PowerPoint from Desktop Publisher (Word Template Builder) works fine and the charts come out perfect. It's only when running from the server that they come out fuzzy. Any ideas?

  • Transition,and bleeding jpeg problems in fce 4

    3 problems..1st) 2 jpegs with motion(lets say a pan) the motion starts from fist frame,looks good,add ANY transition(say a cross disolve) the 2nd photo is still until the transition is done then the motion starts..this delay prevents a smooth flow. this didnt happen with sd fce previously...
    2nd problem.. when i have a photo over apart of video, a small part of color from video bleeds into photo..looks like crap..yes the photo is at 100 % level.
    3rd..my china photos looks steller floating across my tv using apple tv, but when i play the same photos whether its print to video or from dvd..photos are so so.

    Not sure I'm reading or following this right but, do you have say image "A" in V1 and image "B" in V2, with "B" slightly over "A" ?

    Is this photo a gif or jpeg ? sounds like it's acting like a gif, tif file extensions work best and, is what I use with all my stills.

  • AS3 parent loading in AS2 child that in turn loads in jpegs *Problem*

    Hiya everybody.
    I'm getting a bald patch on my head from frustration with the following problem.
    I have a parent AS3 swf which loads in a AS2 swf like so;
    stop();
    var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
    ldr.load(new URLRequest( "as2child.swf"));
    addChild(ldr);
    contained in the AS2 file is the following script which loads in jpegs when the user clicks the next button, etc.
    //stuff that loads in different photos
    stop();
    var i:Number = 1;
    //load first image straight away.
    function initialloadup () {
    i = 1;
    startLoading("pic"+i+".jpg");
    initialloadup();
    next_btn.onRelease = function () {
    /*on clicking next image button load next image in sequence*/
    i++;
    if (i > 11 ) {i = 1};
    startLoading("pic"+i+".jpg");
    trace("pic"+i+".jpg");
    prev_btn.onRelease = function () {
    //on clicking previous image button load prev image in sequence
    i--;
    if (i < 1 ) {i = 11};
    startLoading("pic"+i+".jpg");
    function startLoading(whichImage) {
    loadMovie(whichImage, "imageLoader");
    however when you view the AS2 swf via the AS3 swf it does not seem to load in the jpgs when requested.
    I need to retain the AS2 file so cannot rewrite in AS3 as the image loading thing is only a small part of the AS2 file.
    Any ideas? might it be to do with how the AS2 is read in AS3?
    Cheers for your reading this

    Hi Ned,
    Cheers for your thoughts. I've heard of the lockroot thingymajig. Tried it out but to no avail.
    I've attached a zip file containing the fla's and swf's and jpgs, just incase anyone yourself included might have anymore ideas.
    Thanks for your time

  • Powerpoint embedding problems

    Hi,
    I'm currently having problems embedding a flash movie into a
    powerpoint presentation, using steps similar to the ones set out at
    this link:
    http://www.flashgeek.com/tutorials/02_embed_01.asp
    The flash movie will play perfectly until the presentation is
    saved & re-opened. When this is done the slide the movie is on
    displays nothing but a white screen, although if you right click
    while viewing it the normal flash options display. Does anyone know
    why this is happening or better yet, a solution for it?
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm sorry to say I can'[t offer any help, but I am
    experiencing the same issue so I thought I'd second your plea,
    Doodles.
    Thanks to anyone who might be able to lend a hand!

  • Powerpoint slideshow problem

    I did not know what other discussion group to put this on.
    I made a Powerpoint slideshow presentation with 16 jpeg slides. This went fine. Now, I want to insert a song (.wav) file to play as long as the slideshow is running. When I try to do this using "Insert/Movies and Sounds/Sound from file....", the music plays only on the first slide. If I choose the file using the "Side Show/Slide Transition" and apply it to all slides, then the song starts to replay each time the next slide starts. I cannot get it to play continuously throughout the entire slideshow. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks

    My song is 153 sec long. In the Slide Transition menu, under "Advance slide", I have "Automatically after 4 seconds". So, the 16 slides consume about 64 seconds, well within the length of the song. But, it still restarts fresh each time a new slide appears. I even tried to save this as a .pps (now a .ppt), with no success.
    Is there anything in the Preferences that has to be reset? I note that I cannot change the "Provide feedback with sound to screen elements". If I check this, it defaults back to unchecked. Any other suggestions?

  • Iphone4S email attachment and jpeg problem - Cant open

    Hello,
    I hope someone can help me as I'm a bit rubbish and the problem is driving me nuts!  I've tried searching the support forums but I can't find an answer.
    For some reason, I'm unable to open email attachments or RTF files and even Jpegs that are sent to me on my hotmail. I always used to be able to on my 3GS but now it just says unable to open file?
    Is there some way of sorting this does anyone know or is anyone else having problems or maybe I have to tweak something on the settings? ( told you I was rubbish)
    Any help and advice would be brilliant!
    Thank you.
    PS.
    I have tried forwarding the same jpeg to my new icloud email on my iphone and can open it and view it no problem, so maybe it's a homail thing? I don't understand...!

    When that happens to me I have to do a hard reset (depress both Power/Sleep and Home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. When screen activity stops depress these some two buttons again until the Apple logo appears. The restores the normal iPad function till it happens again.

  • Sudden jpeg problem - help!

    i've suddenly lost the ability to place jpegs in my freehand
    documents from our server.
    i have used the server for the last year with no problems -
    nothing has been changed/updated recently.
    i get a 'could not import because a disk error occurred'
    message.
    these are the same files that i've been placing in day after
    day without any problems whatsoever until now.
    these same files place in ok in illustrator or any other
    program.
    they also place in ok if i copy them to my local hard drive.
    as you can imagine - this is a nightmare - any help would be
    much appreciated.
    im in osx 10.4.11

    > i've suddenly lost the ability to place jpegs in my
    freehand documents from
    > our server.
    Are you able to place jpegs that are located on your local
    hard drive? If
    so, something may have changed security settings for your
    server.
    If you can't place JPEG files from your local hard drive then
    read further.
    FreeHand relies on a plug-in called 'JPEG Import Export'.
    Your plug-in may
    have become corrupted or the OS directory may have simply
    lost track of it.
    First, use Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permission.
    If that doesn't solve the problem, then you may have to
    reinstall FH or copy
    the missing plug-in from another machine where FHMX is
    installed.
    You can find the JPEG Import Export plug-in here:
    1. On your hard drive find Applications/Macromedia FreeHand
    MXa/FreeHand
    MX.app.
    2. Control+Click on the application to bring up the
    contextual menu and
    choose Open Package Contents.
    3. Navigate to Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Plug-ins/JPEG
    Import Export

  • Jpegs problem in mail

    Hi I have a 2012 retina macbook pro and when I attach a jpeg to an email it seems to go fine but when opened on the receiving end it is just a bunch of code, this is a recent problem, I sent a bunch to myself to test, and they all fail to open.  They are low res files processed in photoshop cs6, I would really appreciate any help I could get on this, thanks, Bill.

    Try completely closing Mail and then reopening Mail? (Mail-->Quit Mail)
    or Command + U to toggle between underline on & underline off?

  • FileVault and PowerPoint 2008 Problems (Can't open presentations)

    Hey guys, I am on a Macbook Pro (current gen) and just enabled filevault yesterday for my homefolder. Now I am not able to open my powerpoint presentations for school and I am not sure why?
    I have seen people having problems like this, but no work around?
    Thanks

    I have the same problem too with PowerPoint and Excel files. If you save those files to the root hard drive you can open them but while they are stored in the Filevault account, they won't open. I've reported this issue on the MS forum.
    I believe it is an MS issue because Word documents will open and save just fine.

  • Powerpoint Jpeg Export into iMovie

    Does anyone know how export more high res images out of powerpoint? For example, when I export the slides to jpegs/individual slides and bring them into iMovie, the images aren't as crisp as they are in original slideshow.
    There is a lot of talk on the windows side of things that says by default Powerpoint exports the slide as 96 dpi. Looks like there is a registry change to get it up to 300 dpi, but once again this is for Windows.
    Using powerpoint:mac 2011 and iMovie '09. Didn't know where to submit this question so started here.
    Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?

    DPI (dots per inch) isn't used by video editors and only the file dimension is important.
    DPI is used by printer software.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 16:9 w/ Powerpoint Slide problems. Beginner.

    I'm a beginner to video editing. I have experience working on computer hardware, diagnostics, and software development (programming). Due to this I am the resident "tech" in the family. Leading to this project landing on my lap. I am working on a project for a family member and have little to no experience with Premiere Pro.
    The concept is simple, to edit a series of lectures some 8 hours long. They will be chopped into sessions of varying length and put into a PiP with a powerpoint slideshow background. I was provided with a set of .mts video files(Canon Vixia HF R300) and powerpoint files(office 2003).
    I exported the ppt as jpg images. The powerpoint was made with office 2003, so the jpg's were 4:3. I fixed this by loading them in Photoshop adjusting height to 720 then adding side bars of the same background color. I now have a 1280x720 jpg.
    I load it up into PPro and edit the video. Although it looks fine in the preview window, after export the video's height is stretched. I can't figure out why. I'm exporting to 16:9 and it tells me the dimensions are 1280x720. Any ideas what could be causing this issue?

    Where can I find the PAR? How can I change it? I assume my problem is the video, jpg, and exported video all have differing PAR values. I've just acquired CS6, so hopefully by the end of the day I will have it up and running and can import my current project files.
    On a side note, i'm unfamiliar with the concept of multiple sequences and exporting to encore. Until now i've created a different project file for each lecture session. I really only have experience with photoshop but always intended to explore the other adobe products. Are there any recommended guides to show me the basics and how the programs are integrated?

  • Canon 5D Mark III Jpeg problem

    Received my new 5D Mark iii today. Pretty happy so far however I have noticed a strange issue with Apple Aperture when viewing jpegs from the 5d mark iii. I noticed a white line at the top of the frame or the left of the frame on vertical shots. It is more noticeable in full screen mode in Aperture.
    I opened the jpegs in PS, Preview, DPP and the Finder and none of them show this white edge line.
    The other odd thing is if I export a jpeg of one of these out of Aperture and then load the exported file the white edge line switches sides of the image. Also I noticed if I save a jpeg version out of PS and then import that into Aperture I do not see the white edge line.
    I tried shots using multiple lenses as well with the same result.
    Seems like Aperture has some issue with 5d mark iii jpegs. Don't think it is the camera since PS, DPP and Preview don't show the same issue.
    Wondering if others have noticed this same problem?

    Here is another example. This one I exported to Smugmug from Aperture and no white edge in the Smugmug posting. Definitely seems to be some wierd Aperture problem.

  • Save pdf as jpeg problems help!

    Hello
    I am kinda of new to adobe pro x and I have taken a jpeg and turned it into a pdf form with form fields. When i fill in the form fields on pro x and save as jpeg it erases all of the information that I entered into form fields. When i save as png It keeps information please can someone tell me if i am doing something wrong thank-you

    Today I cannot reproduce the problem; I'm really confused, this has happened for ages, I don't think it ever worked properly till today-maybe there has been a sneaky update  (menu-Help-Check for Updates)
    this is using the same original document on the same pc.  Oh except I just trimmed the original down from 32pp to 1 page (I was trying to create an example to upload).  Nope thats not it.  Maybe I was using a lot or resources at the time.  I'm flummoxed.  try rebooting?
    anyway
    save as jpeg

  • PS CS2 "save as" jpeg problem

    I am in the process of making a compilation disk of scanned snapshots for a friend's photoframe device.  I am importing to CS2 via Twain scans of four 4x6 snapshots at a time.  I rotate, crop, color correct, adjust brightness/contrast, touch up the images and then save as low resolution jpegs (3) to my local hard drive.  I backtrack to the original scan to work on the remaining snapshots until finished since each import is of 4 shots.  When I attempt to save each cropped snapshot using "save as" and click on the default file name that appears in order to sequentialy rename the file, the system randomnly hangs for up to 10 minutes at a time.  Fifty percent of the time it works without a problem.
    I am aware of the known incompatibility with CS2 that prevents saving of files as jpeg from another Adobe forum. The interim fix is to within Photoshop to go into the xmp info dialog (File-Info -> Advanced) and delete the ns.adobe.com/camera-raw-settings/1.0 part).  Unfortunately this did not work for me.
    Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
    Alan

    I solved the problem.  It was an issue in Windows working in a subdirectory with over 500 files and not PS.  The problem saving files vanished when I went to another location with far fewer files.  F.Y.I.  Thanks for the suggestions.
