PowerPoint (Office:Mac) to Work on a PowerPoint (MS Windows)

Hello
I have a Office:Mac PowerPoint File with a imported .mov file from iMovie working fine, however when I transfer the file on a memory stick over to my PC PowerPoint the .mov no longer plays?
Any ideas????
Cheers
Glen.

Hello
I have tried exporting the Mac PowerPoint and .Mov over to my PC PowerPoint 2002 but the error message in the PowerPoint is:
'QuickTime and H.264 decompressor are needed to see this picture'.
I have even tried opening it on a PC with Office 2007 and this time the error message is:
'the file you are attempting to play has a extension (.mov) that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behavior'
Does PC PowerPoint actually support .mov??? I am a bit stuck, any help would be appreciated
Regards
Glen.

  • Will Office Mac 2011 work on the Ipad 2?

I just got Office Mac 2011 will it work on my IPad 2?

Yes. There are two levels of docs to go, the lower one will read/write word and excel, the upper one will also write PowerPoint. You can look on their website and see what all they will do. I use mine primarily for word documents.
The company's name is dataviz it you want to check it out.
Different people like different programs but I'm happy with this one. So YMMV.

  • Office:Mac Powerpoint as good as KN for presentation?

I am new to Mac. Bought Office:Mac. Did I make the right choice as i do presentations and business plans quite a bit.

There's no black-and-white answer to your question. They both do essentially the same job, and they both do it pretty well. To begin with, it depends on whom you ask. Here, you'll probably find more users who are keen on KN; on a PP forum it'll be different. In the "real world", PP - like Windows altogether compared with Mac - is certainly more popular, more used, and more places you might present will be outifitted for and experienced with PP than with KN (or Macs). As far as the end product is concerned, what you can do with the app and what the presentation finally looks like, IMO KN seems to be "cooler", with more interesting animations and transitions. But that doesn't make PP bad, or even worse.
Bottom line, as unbiased as possible, based on my own experience: I like the use, feel, and results of KN better, but it's more problematic (because of the Windows aspect) when I have to present somewhere, and I'm not devastated when I have to use PP.
Finally, if you know you're going to end up presenting in PP, use that to create the presentation. Don't expect that a KN presentation which you then export to PP will look or play exactly as you created it. Exporting from one to the other, in either direction, almost always need to be reworked at least a little, and sometimes a lot, before the result is acceptable.

  • Running mountain lion os 10.8.5 on mac book pro mid 2012 build.  If I upgrade to Mavericks will MS Office programs still work?

I am running mountain lion os 10.8.5 on mac book pro mid 2012 build.  If I upgrade to Mavericks will MS Office programs still work?  There does not appear to be an updated version of MS Office for Mac past 2011 that I bought last year and am using now.  Thoughts? Suggestions?
    Thanks.

Office 2008 and 2011 will run on Mavericks, but you may not be able to get the installer for it at this time.

  • I deleted my microsoft office:mac 2011 word from my toolbar. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8.  I tried to reinstall but it won't work. I get an error message each time. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I deleted my microsoft office:mac 2011 word from my toolbar. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8.  I tried to reinstall but it won't work. This has never happened before.  I get an error message each time. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't have time machine.

By Toolbar, do you mean the Dock?  The Translucent bar normally at the bottom of the screen, but sometimes at the right or left side?
If that's what you mean, the Dock is merely a shortcut to what is already inside the Applications folder's Microsoft Office 2011 folder.  If you have Word inside your Microsoft Office 2011 folder, you can drag it back to the Dock.
If you deleted the Microsoft Office folder, or it is empty, you'll have to reinstall it.
If you don't have your registration code, you'll have to call Microsoft for a new one.

  • Microsoft Office:mac 2011 want work with my script made in Microsoft Windows. May  be there is a file Problem.

    Hello!
Two years ago i made a script with a microsoft windows PC, using "Office Word".
Last year i changed my Hardware into apple Mac ,using Yosemite 10.10.3.
To work on with my script with apple i use Microsoft Office:mac 2011 Home and Student, but it want work. It is deeply frozen and very very slow. Mouse is not working normally. Pages are scrolling automatically. There is a Problem in kompatilibility between the file of my script (written by using a microsoft PC) and the apple computer e.g. Office:mac.
    Someone who can help?
    Ev

Apple support is not an expert source for Microsoft scripts, if Microsoft can't figure out their own software you'll just have to wait until someone who has had, and cured the issue.
    Sorry.

  • Microsoft office isn't working on my Mac anymore

I have tried to open Microsoft Word on my Mac for the past week and it won't let me login. My product key is also claimed to be invalid. It is already downloaded on my computer and has been for about 3 months now. It just started doing this. The error code is 0x80048823. How do I fix this? I have already tried restarting my computer. Microsoft Office is not working at all. It comes up as if I'm a new user saying enter product key, sign in to existing acct, or 30 free-trial. I try signing in and that's when it gives me an error code. I tried entering  my product key to reinstall it maybe? That's when it said product key invalid. I need them to work ASAP! I am a college student and this is extremely inconvenient.

USUALLY, when you're asked to log in (if you're running Office 2011) the app is asking you to log into your Office 365 account. I just had my logic board replaced AND installed a higher capacity SSD, having to clone my old SSD to the new one. I got the message that you describe BUT I do have an Office 365 account.
You might get lucky calling MS: or, as Bob suggests, post on the Office for Mac users forum.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • I installed Office:mac 2011 on my new iMac running 10.8.3 and discovoed my file transfer from my old macbook installed Office:mac 2088. Now I have both installed and none of the office apps work - I keep getting the same error message

I recently purchased an iMac to replace my 2008 macbook.
I used migration assitant to transfer all of my macbook files to the iMac. I noticed that I had the old 2008 version of Office:mac 2008 on the iMac and decided to install Office:mac 2011 which installed successfully.
However, now I can't open excel or word or powwerpoint now using either 2008 or 2011.... I just get an error message saying there was an error and the app had to close. It offers to send a report to Microsoft.
I tried moving Office:mac 2008 to trash but this didn't resolve the issue.
Can anyone help (I am not a really sohpisticated user so be gentle)
    Thanks Dave

    Hello Dave,
This forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and not related to Microsoft Office in any way. I suggest you post Office related questions on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products.

  • Can't open Offic:mac

Can't open any of the Office:Mac features, Word, Entourage, Exel or Powerpoint. The icons jump up and down as usual then just quit. Reinstalled Office:Mac from the CD which came with my computer. it set up a new icon with all the symbols but even the newly
installed won't open. Internet Explorer won't open but all others, Safari, Opera and Firefox work just fine. Quicktime tries to open then a message "...unexpectedly quit".
All OS 9 features work ok. iTunes works fine and iPhoto opens and can access pictures but when I try to do a slide show it does the "...unexpectedly quit" thing.
Finally got a message on the screen this afternoon which states: The
application Entourage could not be launched because of a shared libraryerror."C<MicrosoftEntourage><Apple.Carbon.Multimedia><CFM Priv_QuickTime<><". <br>
IMac G4   Mac OS X (10.2.x)   Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Office or i work

i am a previous user of windows now will be with mac pro. which office software is better? iwork or office 2011.
i love the templetes of keynote, pages and numbers, they have much higher scence of beauty in work than office in windows, But what about office on mac.
what do u prefer Mail, i cal or outlook, which one is better in which aspect?
also suggest about excel vs numbers, pages vs word, keynote vs ppt
    thanks

Well first Congrats on your new Mac!
Honestly its going to be a personal choice... I use iWork at home and for personal use, but I have to use Office for Mac at work. I personally believe iWork is easier to use and seems to be more reliable.
    Next thing: Mail or Outlook?
Well I love Mail I would say Mail all the way. Super sleek look and really easy to use.
Now you are asking for an individual breakdown... so here it is:
    Excel vs. Numbers: Excel
    Pages vs. Word: Pages
    Keynote vs. Powerpoint: Keynote
So I would suggest using iWork and Mail.
    Wish you Best of luck!
    Kevin

  • Microsoft Office:Mac for iPad2

I recently installed Microsoft Office:Mac on my iMac. It came with license to install to up to 3 computers. I want to download it to my iPad 2 so that I can use Excel, Word &amp; PowerPoint on it. Is that possible? Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you.

Short answer. You can't. Different operating systems. The OS X version of Office will simply not run on an iOS device and there is no iOS version of  Office. There are rumors Microsofty is working on it but no cigar yet.

  • Maverick Update: Disabled Email and Office Mac Software

Has anyone else experienced this.  I cant send emails and I now cant use any of the Office Mac 2011 software utilities like excel, powerpoint, word.  I am at my wits end I have been to the Apple stores in Sydney twice now to try to resolve this and each time walked away with no resolution.  I am running two businesses from my Mac Book Pro - I am absolutely beside myself trying to work out what to do.

  • Microsoft Office:Mac 2004

I just bought my mom a new iMac w/Leopard and was setting it up for her. I had an extra install for Microsoft Office:Mac left and wanted to install it on her computer for her. I seemed to have some trouble and had to make a few attempts to successfully install it but it finally did. Now when I go to open Word, Powerpoint or Excel a message pops up that says "An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework Library". What does this mean? What do I do to correct it? I already tried to uninstall and reinstall it a couple times and it still occurs. The programs open and seem to work so far but don't know when a problem will occur. Any suggestions? My mom is used to this program and not interested right now in changing?

If you are going to follow the Microsoft EULA, I believe you are only allowed two active installs, and I know you agree that they will not be used at the same time.
I'll be honest, I think you would be better served buying mom a copy of the home/education Microsoft 2008 and installing that on her computer. If she is going to write to others with older versions of Word show her how to save in an older format.
If you are going to try to install the 2004, remove your first install using the 2004 install disk, reinstall, and immediately update the software. Just be sure you and mom don't set Autoupdate to run at the same time or you will be hearing from MS.
