Powerpoint problem after downloading lion

I am using an older macbook pro from late 2007.  I have a powerpoint presentation that I use with a Dell projector.
The computer dell connection seems to be fine for most things.  I can play video, show the powerpoint slides manually etc just fine.  But when I press Play on powerpoint all I get is a jumble of colors.  Before upgrading to Lion I never had any problems like this.  When I am just using the computer I can powerpoint seems to be working normally.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?  Thank you so much.

I am using a Dell 1800MP projector

PhotoStream is purely a conduit for transferring pictures added to or taken on one device onto all the others seamlessly. Photos are held there only for 30 days. There is no way of accessing, viewing or deleting individual photos; you can reset the entire Photostream, erasing everything.

  • Why am I having problems after downloading Lion?

My computer is constantly freezing up and getting the spinning beach ball. Also will not accept my passwords. I never had these problems until downloading Lion.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Boot in safe mode. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During startup, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all, possibly including wireless networking.
Launch some applications and test. Same problems?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

  • Start-up problem after downloading Lion OS. Help!

I was happily using latest Snow Leopard on my iMac but downloaded Lion 2 days ago in order to sync fully with my iPad (3) and use iCloud. Now my iMac won't start up: I get a frozen grey screen. Can anyone help?

Apple's note on the Lion gray screen: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mchlp2889.html
If you hold down the Command and R keys when you reboot, does that bring up Lion recovery? If so, use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive and permissions, and see if you can reboot. If not, and there are no other steps to do from the note above, reboot into Lion recovery and reinstall Lion.

  • I would like to know if anyone, after downloading Lion OS, lost their Quicken 2007?  If so, what have they done to remedy the problem?

I would like to know if anyone, after downloading Lion OS, lost their Quicken 2007?  If so, what have they done to remedy the problem?

    From the quicken website:
Converting your data from Quicken for Mac
Create a copy of your current Quicken for Mac data file.
Important: You'll want to use the copy for the conversion. Do not use your original data file.
Launch the Quicken File Exchange Utility (it's located on your Quicken Essentials disk).
Follow the on-screen instructions to locate the copy of your old data file and then convert your data from Quicken for Mac to Quicken Essentials.
    Open Quicken Essentials.
If you want to import your old data into a new Quicken Essentials data file that you’ve already started using (optional), make sure that the new data file is now open in Quicken Essentials.
Choose File > Import, and then select the file that you just created during the conversion process.
The conversion file has a .QDFX extension. You’ll find it in the same folder as the copy of your old Quicken for Mac file.

  • Can't connect to my LG NAS after downloading LION

    Hi all - first post.
Can't connect to my LG NAS after downloading LION. Basically thats it, since downloading Lion for some reason I can't access my NAS. Anyone got any suggestion

I have the same problem with my Conceptronic CH3HNAS and have found a free and easy solution.
Since a lot of people report they are able to access their NAS using apps other than the Finder itself, I decided to look for a free Lion-compatible File Manager to use instead of Finder.
I have found muCommander ( http://www.mucommander.com/ ) and indeed it works fine. All I did was click on the button highlighted bellow, go to "bonjour services" and select my NAS. It prompted me for my username and password and voilá, it works fine.
I keep Finder for everyday use and just load muCommander when I want to access the NAS. At least now I don't have to start my WinXP VM anymore just to access it.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Has another else had this problem after downloading OS X (10.5.6)?

I was beginning to think this was a Safari download problem, but now I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem after downloading OS X 10.5.6. I have one web site that I can load, but when i enter my I.D. and then password it quickly kicks me off and an error message comes up saying my internet time has expired and I need to log in again. I have checked with my internet service provider as well as the web site people. No problems there. I can log in using another computer which I have not downloaded the new OS X system. I can also log into the site from the intel side of our iMac. Any suggestions why the Mac side will not load this site fully? I would be very interested in fixing this.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Try resetting the password for this particular site using Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities.
    Home Index
Adding a password to your keychain
You can add passwords for servers, email accounts, and other password-protected resources to your keychain. The next time you access the server or check your mail you won’t have to type your password.
To add a password to your keychain:
Open Keychain Access, located in the Utilites folder in the Applications folder.
    Open Keychain Access
Select a Keychain from the list.
Choose File > New Password Item.
Fill in the information for Keychain Item Name, Account Name, and Password.
You can select Show Typing to reveal the characters you typed to make sure they are correct.
To add a password for an application, look for a checkbox in the login dialog or other feature (such as a menu item or preference) that adds your password to a keychain. If you can’t find a way to add a password to your keychain, the application may not support keychains.

After downloading Lion the noise level of (what I believe to be ) the fans increased. A humming noise which did not exist with Snow Leopard. Any ideas how to reduce this noise?

I have seen this mentioned a dozen times, here, on Lion, and MacRumors.
    Nope. Usual suspects.
And whether you tried a clean install instead (backup and erase) and then use MA to import

  • Safari is now VERY slow after downloading Lion

My Safari (which is the latest version) is now VERY slow after downloading Lion.  It takes forever for anything to load, and some pages don't load at all anymore.  Any way to fix this?  It is very frustrating!

I've just made a change to try to keep the wifi from crashing and it also seems to give me a speed boost online.
Go into your System Preferences, choose Network, and then in that dialog box choose "Advanced..."
Once there, select the DNS tab.
Click the plus sign and add the following to your list of DNS servers:
    8.8.8.8
It's Google's public DNS and seems to have fixed both the dropping and speed issues.
