Powerpoint problem in presenter view.

I'm having a powerpoint problem in presenter view. For some reason it's only showing the slide I'm on, as opposed to showing the next slide as well. Anyone else ever run into this?

  • Dual Display using "Presenter View" as in MS PowerPoint

I have a T410 type 2522-A92 and want to present slides on a projector screen while on my laptop monitor I can see the slide and my notes.   I have so fare been unsuccessful in doing this.  Is my laptop model not equiped for this task and if so, is there any way I can put this right.

    Hi Kappelmeister,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that you had trouble using extended display in your Lenovo ThinkPad T410.
For using PowerPoint in Presenter Mode, the extended desktop feature must be enabled for this mode to function. Press FN+F7 to switch to extended display mode.
In PowerPoint, go to the Slideshow menu and click "Set up show”.
Click on the Presenter Mode or Show Presenter View.
After doing this and starting the slide show, the slide will appear on the second monitor (the projection screen) and the laptop screen can be used to access something in private.
Refer here for further information on how to configure PowerPoint to use presenter view with two monitors.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

  • From powerpoint to adobe presenter : link problem

    Hi,
Can someone helps me? I have a problem with my link from
powerpoint to adobe presenter; indeed adobe presenter doesn't pay
attention of my link called something like "back to last view" and
it's very important in my presentation. Is that normal? Is there a
    solution?

This is normal. This call is not recognized by Presenter. The
best method to create an effect is to copy the slide an give the
user the ability to go "back" to the slide but by using branching
they are actually seeing a different slide. Then the slide that
they are directed to can be given the direction to go back to the
slide they came from or the slide after that.

  • Power point problems: Office 2011 in presenter view

When I put my presentation in presenter view, it will not show me the current slide and the next slide, only the current slide (in a very small window). I've clicked every button possible and can't seem to figure it out? It worked just fine for awhile but now multiple presentations are doing the same thing. This does me no good if I can't see the next upcoming slide! Greg

    Super super super THANK YOU!
    Your solution solved my problem.

  • Trouble viewing pptx presentation view with Macbook

Can't view in Presenter view on my EPSON EB-X120 (about 6 months old) using my MacBook - it will only mirror. I have selected Presenter mode in PowerPoint.
    I am using:
    MacBook Pro
    15-inch, Late 2011
Processor  2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Graphics  AMD Radeon HD
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
    Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac 2011
    Version 14.4.7 (141117)
MacBook System Preferences: Display only shows DISPLAY and COLOR, no ARRANGEMENT options.
    Can anyone help, please?

Try playing at a lower resolution if that option is available (for example, in youtube the controls are in the lower right of the video window).  Some sites, particularly youtube, seem to have problems playing some (not all) videos at 720p and 1080p.

Sounds to me more like you have the Display Performance set on Typical rather than High Quality Display. Unless there is a problem with a missing or out-of-date link, the display in ID has nothing to do with output quality -- all of the image data is used for output.

Either it won't display on the projector at all. Once it displayed but the presentation mode was on the big screen and the presentation I wanted to show was on my MBP screen. I have the adapter( white ones) to attached to the projector cables.  I am so frsutrated...it looks so silly not to have a computer work during a presentation..
Another problem one the rare occasion that it shows on the screen is that the presentation does show just my desk top.  Any ideas?
    Thanks !

You often have to turn off Mirroring to be able to set the second "screen"s resolution to something reasonable. When you do, the two screens become an "Exceeded Desktop" joined along one edge, and the Arrange pane in displays prefs can allow you to specify what edge. Initially, it will show a vacant extension of the built-in screen's desktop.
The mouse moves freely across that shared edge, and can allow you to drag the presentation window across to the the projector screen and re-size it to fit.

  • Sudden Change to Slide Show Display/Presenter View Greyed Out

Two weeks ago powerpoint was acting normally. I would come into class, hook my netbook up to the projector, set my monitor output option to extended desktop and start my slideshow in presenter view. This morning I went into class and I was unable to use
presenter view. It was greyed out. I had to clone the displays and wing it without my notes. Also, the slideshow itself *looked* different. There was an orange menu bar at the bottom that I could not get rid of. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Hi Michelle,
Do you mean the "Use Presenter View" option under "SLIDE SHOW" tab on the ribbon is greyed out for you?
When you are in the "Slide Show" mode, please try to right click on the slide and see if you can select the "Show Presenter View" from the context menu.
Have you ever made any changes to your computer recently? You might want to try installing any required updates, including updating your graphic card driver to the latest version, then try again.
"There was an orange menu bar at the bottom..." - Is it possible to share a screenshot of it with us? You can send the file to this email account:

  • Presenter view won't display

So I made this fabulous keynote presentation to use in my classroom, and tried to use the presenter view so that I wouldn't forget what was coming up next (as I often do!).
I connected my macbook to both a TV and a projector, but both times when I played the presentation, my screen was the exact same as what was shown on the TV and from the projector.
Under presenter display preferences, I have checked:
-Use alternate display to view presenter information (I also tried it with this unchecked)
-show current slide, next slide, clock, time, and ready to advance indicator
What am I doing wrong? I have a feeling it's probably something very obvious where I'll smack my forehead after someone tells me. But seriously, I tried all morning and couldn't do it.
I'm running Leopard, but I would hope that isn't the problem.
    Merci beaucoup!

Your OS X display preferences need to be set up for monitor spanning, and not monitor mirroring. In the System Preferences, in the Display pane, you can turn on this option.
(If Keynote were smart, when a presentation is set to use the Presenter Display it would recognize when spanning isn't turned on, and would give you a warning or some explanatory information.)

  • URL-linked slides in presenter view?

I have created some Keynote slides that contain Web View insertions -- shots of live Web pages. I want to click on these in my Keynote presentation using a projector. But I have not figured out how to do this. The two-slide view I have as a presenter on my PowerBook allows me to scroll over each of those two slides, but I have to scroll to the projected slide on the big screen to get a live pointer that I can then click to engage my browser to open that Web site. But the screen is BEHIND ME during the presentation. What am I doing wrong? Why can't Keynote give me the ability to be able to click on slides in presenter view so I can open those live Web sites from there? Help ...
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Thanks, Gary. I also have ended up mirroring the display in order to have hyperlinks available. The problem with that, however, is that one forfeits the advantages of the many tools that are built into the presentation mode.
Most significantly, when mirroring displays I can not see the note secton. When lecturing, it would be very helpful to be able to refer to details that I want to use for embellishment, but that I do not want to include in the slides themselves. I would also like to use notes to remind me to put a particular question to the class.
Also significant is not being able to view the upcoming slide/bullet, nor the clock, which would make it much easier to keep things flowing smoothly and at the right pace.
I really hope Apple makes hyperlinks active in presenter view in the next update. It's hard to understand why it's not the case currently.

  • "Presenter view" for Acrobat - URGENT!

    Hi all,
Is it possible to have a feature like "presenter view" (as in MS Powerpoint)? It allows the presenter to see the presenter to see not only the currently projected slide that the audience sees but also a preview of the next one plus speaker notes for the slide and a timer.
Is this possible, or is there a work around or can this feature be included.
    Thanks

It would be nice, but at present there is no such view. If you go to properties (under edit), the full screen menu gives you the options that can currently be used. There is supposedly a dual screen option, but it does not come up properly for me. You might try it and have better results.

  • Can not make presenter view work in Yosemite

    Can not make

Thank you for your help and patience. I'm trying to understand this so I can fix it if I get in the wrong situation again (which will be shortly before the crowd wants to see the talk).
I gave the same Keynote presentation on the same MacAir a week earlier, before switching to Yosemite, and everything worked the way I wanted. I installed Yosemite and either the default settings changed or Yosemite switched me back to default settings I had unknowingly changed.
I don't remember seeing the word "Extended" during the 10 minutes that I played with this while some of the crowd watched. I turned Mirroring on and off, moved the bar from screen to screen, turned gathering screens or displays (I forget) on and off—and could not get a combination that displayed the presenter view on my MacAir. I just checked Play > Customize Presenter Display and everything is checked or not checked correctly (i.e., I don't use the notes, and they were the only thing not checked).
I looked in Keynote help. "Extended display" and "extended" produce nothing on this. "Mirroring" and "mirrored display" produce nothing helpful, The section on "Present on a separate display" does say "If you’re using Apple TV and are mirroring your display, you won’t see the presenter display on your Mac," but I wasn't using Apple TV so that doesn't apply. Otherwise, it says everything will automatically be right — but nothing was automatically right.
So the next time I am connected to a projector, How do I switch to Extended display? I am certain that at one or more times I had Mirroring turned off, the bar on the left screen, and there was no presenter view. And I don't remember seeing the word "Exended," or ever having these problems in the past.
PS: I now understand what gathering displays does—it puts the controls on the computer rather than the other display. That could use a better name. There's rarely a reason to turn it off, but when you're trying everything why not try "Gathering" because who knows what that means? And that just slows the process down why you fiddle with controlling everything from a screen behind you.

  • Animations reset if you switch away from Presenter view?

This may be fairly unique to us, but in the middle of a Keynote presentation while in presenter view, I will have to switch away from Keynote to another application and then I would like to switch back.
The problem is if there are 5 animations on a slide and I am on the third, when I switch back to Keynote for whatever reason Keynote is back at the first animation as if I just pulled the slide up for the first time.
I've poked around to see if there is an option or anything to turn this "feature" off and haven't found anything. I don't know why anyone would want that behavior either.
Anyone have any ideas? For now, I am just chopping up the slides wherever we have those kinds of transition points but it's a real pain. All I want is for Keynote to "Freeze" and chill in the background while I temporarily switch to another program that I need to show, and be right where I left it when I switch back.

    Erik,
I think "am just chopping up the slides wherever we have those kinds of transition points" might be the best possible solution....where at the space you need to switch programs one slide ends and the transition to the next slide requires a manual click ... you use Alt+Tab to switch to the other program, run it, then when finished Alt+Tab back to KN and manually click. (Using Duplicate Slide might be helpful....deleting what you want after the other program from the first and deleting what you wanted before the other program from the second slide....with the manual transition appearing between the slides.)
I will be interested if somebody has an alternative answer.

  • How to type on presenter view

I created a powerpoint for my students and one of the slides is set up for them to take turns entering the weather each day.
I created the text box and followed the instructions on how to do that and it works.  However, when I plug my computer into the projector to present it on the TV, the slide advances to the next slide when a student comes up to type in the weather.
They can type in "sunny" or "rainy" when the powerpoint is in slideshow mode, but once my computer is plugged into the projector, they cannot type anything anymore because the slide automatically advances to the next slide when they come
up and click on the text box to type.
How can I get this to work for me when my powerpoint is set up and plugged into the TV?

    Hi,
When you say the "text box", I think you are referring to the Text Box (ActiveX Control). Seems these controls just not work in the Presenter View mode.
To work around, when you connect to a projector, please right click in the screen, then choose "Hide the Presenter View". Now you will be able to click on the text box to type. Once done, you can right click in the screen again,
then choose "Show Presenter View" to back to Presenter View mode.
This mode switching should not impact the presentation on the projector.
