Powerpoint Smartview for Hyperion Strategic Finance

Hi,
I want to see my strategic finance report with Powerpoint. Firstly I can connect strategic finance reports with MS Excel. But I cannot successfully connection Strategic Finance with MS Powerpoint. I try use Shared Connections and Private Connections, But I cannot success. How can I connect strategic finance with powerpoint. My MS Office 2010 32 Bit and Windows 2008 Server 64 Bit.
Thanks

Funny, I just answered this for a client. 11.1.2.2 Smart View will not work with 11.1.2.1 HSF. HSF has to be on 11.1.2.2
I had confirmed this with the Smart View development team

  • Hyperion Strategic Finance - Formula for last years average

    Hi all,
I am starting developing a model in HSF.
At first glance the tool is perfect for our needs but unfortunately I get stuck sometimes with the formulas.
I am trying to show last year's average on a forecast account.
The problem is that apparently I cannot blend relative (-1Y) and absolute (@since(Jan)) parameters.
Does anyone of you know how to do this?
    Your help is much appreciated!
    Thank you
    Mike

Seems ridiculous and annoying to me. Not sure what rate they were offering but I'm sure you could find likewise somewhere else. Have you tried? Not yet.  My lease is up in June of 2016 so I have a while, I just had them pull my credit to check and get ahead of any issues they may have.  The past issue was I didn't have enough credit.  Now it's that I opened multiple credit lines in 6 months.  They didn't even offer an interest rate, just flat out said that based on what they see they will not offer me financing at all.  And it seems inconsistent because I know someone who was financed through them and that person is a train wreck. In regards to trainwrecks, yeah it blows my mind when things like that happen. I see it all the time with credit cards. I would shop around quite a bit and see what you can come up with. What rate do you require for a comfortable payment?

  • How to restore a deleted database in Hyperion Strategic Finance (HSF).

I deleted a database from my HSF server and would like to restore in now. Prior to deletion, I had saved the entire database in an external drive. How can I retrieve it will full access?
    Thanks.

I am not aware of a way to restore a particular report,
However the reporting environment is built off the file system and the BI Plus database.
    You could stop the environment,
Take a current backup of E:\Hyperion\BIPlus\data\RM1_* directory and the BI Plus database,
Recover the directory above and database from last night's backup, start the services
export the report and then reverse the process - stop services, restore current versions that you backed up and start back up...

  • Hyperion Strategic Finance problem with consolidation

    Hi,
I'm currently working with HSF version 11.1.1.1 and i have encountered some problems with the consolidator. I have a group of entities, each one with a different structure (subaccounts, dimensions, etc.) and during the consolidation process there is one (and only one) that doesn't consolidate with the others.
The only difference between the mentioned entity and the others is that this entity use Debt Scheduler, but i have run tests using Debt Scheduler in the other entities and works perfectly.
    Any ideas?
Greetings and thanks for your time

FDM has adapters for loading data to both HFM and HSF. It also gives you built in audit capabilities, a powerful intuitive mapping engine and out of the box validation against HFM. You could use flat file extracts from both HFM and HSF as the sources or certainly in the case of HFM-->HSF integrations you could provide a more seamless end to end process by executing an integration script that executes against the HFM API to integrate the extract step.
ODI certainly has HFM adapters for loading/extracting data, I'm not sure it has the smae for HSF. With ODI you will have to build the majority of the functionality, especially around mapping, it is definately more technical and not friendly enough if there is significant business community involvement in the BAU process.

  • Hyperion Strategic Finance - Smart View -  Submitting Data

    Hello,
I have a model which I started developing using the client, then used Smart Views to continue. I don´t know if I have some settings wrong because whenever I try to input data, then submit or calculate, nothing happens. The cell turns yellow, as it happens whenever you input data in to a Smart View field, but the the output field remains the same, like the calculation or data submission never happened.
Also on the account dimensions I have entered, and I try to change something in Smart View it gives me an error "Exception while trying to append sessionID to the Request: ´NA´ is an unexpected token. Expecting white space. Line 1, position 87".
I´m using version 11.1.2.3 of HSF and 11.1.2.3 of Smart View.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
    Regards,
    AL

  • Hyperion strategic finance - @Dim

    Hi
I have a query regarding HSF @Dim function. I have to calculate my cost on the basis of Cost per unit and hectare area. after using this is calculating only on the basis of total rather than it should be on single single item.
Please revert me how can i use this separately for single single items

Not much information is available for this product, unless you go to the formal training
or talk to the consultant who has implemented this.
Basically, if you understand/familiar about debt scheduling, bond rating,
what-if financial, or something similar to that, you can manage to understand the product.

    Hi,
Checkout the below metalink from Oracle.
Hyperion Strategic Finance Will Not Connect Via SmartView (Doc ID 1561484.1)
Below Solution  as per doc ---
    1. Run the installation for the HSF Web Application component on the Foundation server where weblogic is for HSF Server.
(Be sure the HSF Web Application component is also installed on the the HSF Server, if separate from the Foundation server as well.)
    2. Clean up any failed deployments in the WebLogic Console by deleting the HSFWeb Server from WL Admn
    3. Configure the new component on Foundation (target server).
    4. On OHS server run configtool and perform the WebServer config task to configure OHS for HSFweb
    5. Restart OHS and start HSFWeb
    Thanks,

  • Hyperion Strategic Finace are not listed under Smart View Shared Connections (EPMS 11.1.2.3)

    Dears,
I'm can't access Hyperion Strategic Finance trhough SmartView because are not listed under Smart View Shared Connections.
But if I try connect trhough Private Connections it's work fine.
I've tried reconfigure Providers Services, but didn't work.
    Anyone could help me?
    Thanks in advance

It should be possible using a Shared connection to Strategic Finance as it is documented - Creating a connection using Shared Connections , as far as I am aware it is only OBIEE where you have to use the XML method.
It might be worth checking in workspace under workspace settings and enabled products to see if Strategic Finance is enabled.
    Cheers

  • Hyperion SmartView for office problem

    Hi,
I install hyperion hmf smartview for office 9.2.0.3.0.005 whith the admin right, I used it and can remove it from add in in excel 2003 sp3, but recentely we remove the admin right.
So now I can use it but I cant remove it from the add in in exel, that cause some conflict with other add in
    Solution ??
We have Windows XP SP3 and Office pro 2003 SP3.
    Thanks

Not a pretty solution, but I have had users manually remove the add in files from the Program directory on the hard drive and then save them on their desktop for when they want to use it again.
I think I have read that the newer version has less trouble with excel functions.

  • Upgrade from Strategic Finance v9.3 to v11

Can anyone please tell me their experience upgrading from Strategic Finance v9.3 to v11. In particular I am interested in feedback regarding Dimensions (incl. ECMs of Formula Changes to the dimension), Essbase Mapping, File Importing, file sizes (mine are very large), Calc Times.
Also is there a comparison sheet that exists that lists the attributes for each version?

    Hi John,

    1) Do i need to uninstall the exisitng version and install the new one or is there any upgrade option button which is available in version 11.1.2.1 which i just need to cliick on it.
    2) How should i take care about the users and groups as there is no OPENLDAP in 11.1.2.1 ? How should i do it?

  • OS selection for Hyperion suite installation

    Hi all,
As hyperion is available in different OS support like: windows, Linux and Solaris?
In my experince I have seen clients with mixed flavours like windows and solaris or Windows & Linux. Except few hyperion componets major softwares can be installed either on on linux or solaris?
I felt that high ushage products like:Shared services, reports,  essbase, HFM, FDM and Planning if installed on linux or solaris, it will be easy to maintain and less costly for clients?
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS? Hoping that this dicussion will add value to our infra experts..
    Thanks
    Raja.

    Hi there,
As John said it depends on your policies, the existing hardware and the budget that you have available.
In the following url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html you will find Oracle's certification matrix.
I would just say that my understanding is that most of the "Non-Windows" OS will not support: DRM, FDM, HFM, Performance Management Architect Dimension Server and File Generator, Production Reporting Teradata Engine, and Strategic Finance. Additionally, Financial Reporting, Web Analysis, FDMEE, Account Reconciliation, Financial Close Management, Disclosure Management, and SOA do not support these platforms when used with Financial Management.
As a result, if you need to create an environment that will include/ support HFM, you will end up with a "windows" environment. Please correct me, if I am wrong,
    Regards,
    Thanos
