PowerPoint to PDF

Hi Folks,
When I create a PDF (with Acrobat Professional 7) from PowerPoint (2003 or 2007), quality is "Print Quality" I run into the following Problem:
At the screen view the borders of PNG- and GIF-graphics are very fuzzy and frayed. But when I print the PDF all is fine.
Any Ideas?
Thanks, Alex
P.S. The same happens when I creat a PDF from Word

You are on the wrong forum - this is about PDF, not Acrobat.  Please report on the Acrobat forum.

  • Powerpoint to pdf - images lose clarity

Why when converting from Powerpoint to pdf do the images lose clarity and sharpness?

    Hi,
What is the version of PowerPoint and Acrobat you are using?
Please make sure that you have updated the Acrobat to its latest version. Go to Help -> Check for Updates.
Also, try printing the PPT to Adobe PDF printer and then check the issue.

  • Cannot convert Powerpoint to PDF in greyscale because there is no adobe option on the printing dropdown screen

How can I convert Powerpoint to PDF in greyscale - there is no adobe option on the printing dropdown screen?

Creating PDF from PowerPoint by printing to AdobePDF produces lousy PDF. All transparency is lost. Use the “Save as Adobe PDF” feature installed by Acrobat as a plug-in into Microsoft Office applications.
Once you have the PDF file created, within Acrobat you can use the Convert Colors tool under Print Production to convert to grayscale.

  • How do I take notes on iPad for powerpoint and pdf files..?

Some professors like to use powerpoint and some use pdf files to presnet their notes..
and I like handwriting on them.. so I could circle or underline some things..
I use to use NOTERIZE app and it was woring fine until this morning when it crashed..
is there any other app that works with both powerpoint and pdf?
    Please let me know~

One option would be to investigate an MDM such as AirWatch.  Devices can be placed in Single App Mode, or setup with a restricted browser.  You can also display business content on your devices.

  • PowerPoint to PDF creates "blank" pages

I just downloaded Acrobat 9 this afternoon and have tried several times to convert a very large PowerPoint presentation to a PDF file.  One time is said "unexpected error" mesaage, so I shut down and restarted.   The second time, it made the PDF file, but there were a lot of blank pages throughout the PDF document.   Does anyone have any thoughts on fixing this??

Here was my dilemma.  I was printing multiple files as Notes Pages to PDF. I had files created in Powerpoint 2010, natively and by me; files created in 2010 by someone else; files created in 2003 by me; and files created in 2003 by someone else.  The files created by someone else didn't work.  The ones created on this machine did.  I tried countless printing options, restarted the print spooler, nothing helped.  Then I embedded the true type fonts (all characters), saved the file to disk, closed it and re-opened it and POOF it worked.
My problem was only on Notes Pages printing or saving to PDF, and only with presentations not created on this machine regardless of version.
    Hope this helps.

  • Powerpoint to PDF conversion leads to dark borders appearing around images in the pdf. How do I fix this?

Hi, so I'm doing a batch conversion of powerpoint presentations to PDF. The originals have icons with no borders around them, the final product has borders around all the images.
Is there a bunch of settings that I can change so that this doesn't happen?
    Thanks!

  • Multiple images are blocky when converting from powerpoint to PDF?

    Heres my problem:
If I have a powerpoint with ONE image (be it jpeg, gif, png, etc) they apper fine when you convert the document to PDF (via print>Print to PDF or by using the Acorbat plug in in Powerpoint).
    BUT
If I have 2 or more images in a powerpoint slide, the images appear blocky and sections of the images are missing. I tried to ungroup the photos and group the photos yet I get the same result. Anyone know how to correct this??
The images were originally created in Adobe Illustrator. There must be a setting in Illustrator or Powerpoint that is causing this problem but I cant figure it out.
    Thanks

Correction, it appears to be a problem with the CROP button in Powerpoint. I have a PNG file and it has two images (a map and a legend) on one png. When I crop it to only show ONE image (either the map or the legend) it makes it become blocky. So weird.

  • Powerpoint to pdf transparency question

I have a powerpoint document that has several boxes with 76% transparency on the boxes (instead of 100% blue, the transparency is 76%). I put text in the box in (the text is 100%). When I create a pdf of the file, wherever I have a box with transparency, there is a "grid" that shows behind the box. I have tried changing several settings, but the grid is still there. Does anyone know how I can create a pdf file without the "grid"? Thanks

  • I cant convert PowerPoint to PDF it keeps showing no text etc why?

I am unable to convert PowerPoint to a PDF. This should be a simple selection of Save As Type and select PDF. But when it converts it then show the design only but no content in the document.
I have not had issues before this past week as I recall. Can someone help me maybe my settings are off?
    Thanks!

"Save as" from PowerPoint?  In this case, it is a PowerPoint problem.
Adobe Reader cannot perform such a conversion, except from PDF to text.

  • Convert Powerpoint to PDF

I have created a poster in Powerpoint and need to convert it to a pdf. However when I convert the file to a pdf all of my photos on the powerpoint slide disappear on the pdf.  How do I keep all of my photos when converting?

They may not be gone, but just not visible because you do not have "view large images" turned on. I am not sure why JPeg or Png were suggested, it does not answer your question and JPegs have had created problems in PDFs.

  • Pixelated Graphics - Powerpoint to PDF

I am exporting a PDF from Powerpoint 2003 to PDF. The problem is that the color images (logo) are quite pixelated.
Depending on the Acrobat zoom level, it can look quite good, but can also look very bad. So is this just a rendering issue on the acrobat side (unable to scale images well)? I have tried a lot of things to get it to look good, but nothing seems to work.

If you saved to PDF using the WORD addon from MicroSoft, there is nothing that Acrobat can do to improve things. As far as the screen, be sure you have smoothing turned on for the display. The default is to have smoothing turned off.
If you go from WORD or PPT using Acrobat (either by printing to the Adobe PDF printer or PDF Maker), you can improve the graphic resolution with either the press or print job settings, but the size will then be a potential issue.

  • Need to automate Powershell using Powerpoint creating PDF

I've got a Windows 7 (64-bit) machine and I'm trying to use the built-in Powershell to automate PowerPoint 2010 to create PDFs from PPT and PPTX files in a folder.
I want this to run without GUI and create a single file.
Unfortunately, all I've been able to achieve is something that brings up the GUI and saves each page as it's own jpg in a sub-folder.
Does anyone have a short script that can do this?
    Careful with that VAX Eugene

    Here are dozens of scripts:

  • No PowerPoint or PDF after installing Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008

Have installed Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008
Seemed like big improvement - smoother and no crashes.
    But -
Exported to PowerPoint, closed everything down. Opened PowerPoint file and nothing.
Exported to PDF - said that I should upgrade to new Flash program. Installed Flash 10. - Opened PDF file and nothing.
    Please help

    Hi Bruce,
Try exporting to .SWF and seeing if you can run that without a problem.
Then try importing that .SWF into PowerPoint to see if you can set that up without a problem.
From there we can see if it is an Xcelsius issue or another PC issue.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Chart Features get Distorted when converting a Powerpoint to PDF

When converting a powerpoint file to PDF using Adobe createPDF online, chart titles and axis that were properly formatted in powerpoint get distorted when the file is converted to pdf.  Specifically, the chart titles get moved over / cut off and scales on the axis disappear. The charts, however, are pictures, and were not created in a microsoft program.  Any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?
    Thanks

That an image of a chart was exported is indicative of the "chart" object in the PDF being an image.
And, that is consistent with what must times, for most PPT "chart" input is -- graphic objects -- which, when sent out to PDF don't change from that (how would they eh?).
Result - an image / graphic object in the PDF.
To get the 'dynamic' chart that updates in Powerpoint when the data for the chart is changed you'd re-master in an appropriate application and OLE it into the Powerpoint file.
But that's the good stuff of Microsoft and discussed over in MS web space.
    Be well...
