Powerpoint to SWF with Charts

When using FlashPaper to convert a Powerpoint presentation to
Flash, I am getting vertical lines down the middle on the slides
that have charts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would have to make copies of each chart with the items already selected. If you're interested on using a much easier application, you can use [XP3 BI Presenter|http://www.interactiveedge.com/products/xp3_bi_presenter_sap/xp3_bi_presenter.html],  that allows you to connect to SAP from within PowerPoint and create data-driven Excel charts and tables.

  • Load SWF file in main SWF with parameters

    Hello everybody,
    I recently got a new flash Application which is a Photo Gallery.
    This App is made of multiple folders (source files), a FLA file, a SWF with its javascript SWFObject and an Html page which instantiate this App with some parameters (size, config file path, ...).
    It needs an XML file to find all the Photos it displays, to do it I need to configure my application in the HTML Page and give it the "xml_path" :
    var so = new SWFObject("index.swf", "gallery", "249", "249", "10", "#111111");
    so.addVariable("xml_path","load/config.xml"); // this line is adding the path to the xml file make sure that it's name is xml_path
    so.addParam("allowfullscreen","true");
    so.write("flashcontent");
    By the way, I have a second application, the WebSite, which have to display the Gallery SWF in its "Gallery" page.
    Here is how I do it at the moment (in ActionScript3) :
    var swfRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("C:/......../Galerie/index.swf");
    var swfLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    //Charge le SWF Galerie dans le SWF Site
    swfLoader.load(swfRequest, context);
    container1.addChild(swfLoader);
    //Positionne le SWF
    swfLoader.x=10;
    swfLoader.y=120;
    It successfully loads the Gallery application but It shows an error telling me it doesn't find the XML configuration file... In the HTML file I simply had to write the "so.addVariable("xml_path","load/config.xml");" to tell where the XML file is...
    So, my question is : How can I integrate my SWF application giving it some parameters like above, in Action Script 3?
    Thank you ,
    Patrick

    No, nothing with HTML.
    I have 2 SWF applications. One is the Gallery, and the second is my Main Page.
    My Main Page must integrate the Gallery module in one of its page.
    The problem is when I try to integrate it, I think I must give de future loaded SWF some parameters like this :
    (My Main SWF loading in HTML)
    var so = new SWFObject("WebSite.swf", "flashcontent", "520", "700", "10", "#111111");
    so.addParam("allowfullscreen","true");
    so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always");
    so.addParam("menu","false");
    so.addParam("wmode","opaque");
    so.addParam("bgcolor","#000000");
    so.setAttribute("id","flash");
    so.write("flashcontent");
    It was for the Main App. For my Gallery SWF I had to load it like this (in HTML) :
    var so = new SWFObject("Gallerie.swf", "gallery", "249", "249", "10", "#111111");
    so.addVariable("xml_path","Galerie/config.xml"); // this line is adding the path to the xml file make sure that it's name is xml_path
    so.addParam("allowfullscreen","true");
    so.write("flashcontent");
    So at the beginning I had 2 different projects with an HTML page for each.
    Now I wan't to directly integrate the Gallery SWF into the Main SWF. And as you have seen I must give it some parameters such as the "xml_path" and "allowfullscreen". This must be done in ActionScript 3 and I don't know how...
    I think I have to use FlashVars but I don't know how. As I said before, I have tried using the loaderinfo.parameters, but it is in read-only...
    Do you have an idea of how I can make it work ?

  • How to set up Airport Extreme with Charter ARRIS Modem TM902A for the first time for WIRELESS.

    How to set up Airport Extreme with Charter ARRIS Modem TM902A for the first time for WIRELESS.
    When Charter Tech goes to your site, have them connect the modem up, but do not connect the modem to your iMAC or MacBook Pro.  What you want to do is connect the Airport Extreme to the iMac or MacBook Pro first with the Ethernet Cable. You have to do this to configure via Airport Utility to set up the Base Station Name & Base Station Password.
    You will then create/configure a Wireless Network, create your Wireless Password that will be entered on each of your Devices, example, Apple Tv, your iPhone, etc., you want to allow access to your Wireless Network you are creating.
    Wireless Security will be -> WPA/WPA2 personal or just WPA2
    Enter the Wireless Password you want
    Verify the Wireless Password (enter it again)
    After it is created you will see it on the Airport Utility window with the name you created for it and to the left, will be a Dot (circle that will be yellow).
    Next you then want to unplug the power to the Airport Extreme, and then take the end of the Ethernet cable you unplugged from the iMac or Lap top MacBook Pro and connect it to the back of the Modem.
    Next unplug the power cord from the modem and wait about 5 minutes, then plug the power back into the Arris Modem and wait until all lights come back on the modem wait
    about 5 minutes, then plug the power cord back to the Airport Extreme and you will see it the light blinking yellow.  Wait about 5 to 10 minutes, during this time Restart you IMAC or MacBook Pro, and once it is back up click on the Airport Utility and you should see on the Airport Utility screen.
    For INTERNET to the left the light should be green and you should see the Airport Extreme also appear and the light to the left on the screen should also be green.  If they are, you then should be able to click on the Wireless Symbol on top of bar of the screen and click to select the Wireless Network Name you created.
    If you Do Not See the light (Icon) next to INTERNET turn Green, or if you see the Internet Light Green, but the Light (Icon) next to the Airport Extreme is yellow, unplug the power again to the modem and unplug the power again to the Airport extreme and wait about 15 minutes or up to 30 minutes. Then plug the power cord back to the modem wait till all the lights light up then, plug the power cord back into the Airport Extreme and Restart your iMAC or MacBook Pro.
    The Airport Extreme light should change from yellow to green. Open up the Airport Utility to see what the indicators are showing they should both be green.  Again select Wireless network you created under the Wireless Icon on the top right of the screen. Open Safari and see if you are able to Route to a web page or the apple site should appear.
    WHAT TO DO IF YOUR AIRPORT EXTREME WAS PREVIOUSLY SET UP FOR USE WITH ANOTHER CARRIERS ROUTER OR MODEM.
    NOTE:  If you already had your Airport Extreme connected for example, I previously had ATT Uverse and the Airport Extreme was connected to the Wireless Router Model 3801HGV, I disabled the Uverse Wireless and used the Airport Extreme for the Wireless signal in bridge mode, as the Airport extreme Signal is much stronger than the Uverse router, and I was able to obtain a Wireless signal with the Airport Extreme way much better with no signal loss which was very very frustrating with the Uverse router.
    Anyhow if you had it hooked up like this, now that you will be using it with the Charter ARRIS Modem TM902A, you will need to reset the Airport Extreme to clear out the old data it has in memory, with the previous set up otherwise it will not work. Trust me I spent 6 hours trying to make it work reading all Apple Support Community questions and answers relating to this type issue/problem others have been having trying to get their set up working. I tried all the tips, and I finally decided just to see if by chance I would be able to connect with someone with Charter Tech support who might be familiar with Apple to be able to assist me and by luck I did.  He told me why it was not working and was all due the previous configuration with the ATT Uverse router was still in memory with the Airport Extreme. Finally it was 10:30 PM when I decided to call Charter Tech Support and I had been working on this since 3:00 pm pacific. I did not call them earlier as all the post I read said they never received any good help from Charter. After calling them I finished up by 11:00 PM and was able to finally connect Apple Tv, iMac, iPhones and Macbook Pro. We love our Apple Product and Happy all is connected with the new
    Internet Provider Charter. I must say the speed is way way much better than it ever was with AT&T Uverse.
    THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO:
    First you will need to unplug the Airport Extreme, then by taking the tip of a pen or paper clip end you need to push the reset button on the back of the Airport Extreme and hold it
    down and at the same time plug the power cord back into the Airport Extreme count to 5 or 10 then release the reset button. Then once he light in front of the Airport Extreme stops blinking you need to plug the Ethernet cable from the Airport Extreme to your iMAC or Macbook Pro, and restart which ever one you have, then open the Airport Utility once it is back up.  If you see airport extreme pop up with the old network name or it shows and yellow triangle click on the Airport Extreme ICON it will not let you configure it but will ask if you want to get rid of it or remove and just do it.  Then Again restart your iMAC or MacBook Pro, open up Airport Utility again, and on the top left you should see under “Other Airport Base Stations” the MAC ID for the Airport Extreme.

    I just got a Charter Modem. Model TM822. While I was moving, my Airport Extreme was still at my old place.
    I have a Linksys WRT320N I used for the initial Charter setup.
    I can get my Airport to work here, but the Internet light on the Modem flashes Yellow.
    Hasn't caused any issues so far but one thing I did notice.
    On the Linksys there were 3 DNS servers listed.
    The Airport Extreme only lists 2 and i don't see where I could add another, only change whats already there.
    I tried everything above, but light on modem still flashes yellow.
    I have the technicians cell phone. Told me "that shouldn't be" and gave the same advice listed above.
    I'll break down and call Charter one day, see if it's on their end. NSA tracking may need a reset LMAO.

  • Problem With Chart (Members Name)

    Hi Experts
    We are facing the one new issue in FR as well as HFM. we are using the data bast to HFR is HFM.While we are creating the HFM application Profile we used the Period's Lables as January ,febuary.....,.we catching the same in HFR also it good.
    But at one stage (trend reports) we have to generate the reports including with charts and both (*grid and Chart should be in one page only*). here we are facing the problem the report made up two col's (year & Period) and one row(Scenario).If we check the chart to show the Horizontal value like January 2007,February2007 and so on . so that the system will covers morespce and grid will moves next page but we need both in one single page.
    Any suggestions on this Its cery Urgent
    Regards
    Rao

    There are several options:
    Try formatting that axis to have the month names at an angle.
    Use the member name instead of description for months.
    Don't show the year.
    Change the axis that months are on, or pivot the grid (rows to columns).

    I was having the same error while trying to plot a moving average across 7 days. The work around I found was rather simple.
    If you right click your report in the solution explorer and select "View Code" it will give you the underlying XML of the report. Find the entry for the value of your calculated series and enter a formula to dynamically create your periods.
    <ChartFormulaParameter Name="Period">
                      <Value>=IIf(Count(Fields!Calls.Value) >= 7 ,7, (Count(Fields!Calls.Value)))</Value>
    </ChartFormulaParameter>
    What I'm doing here is getting the row count of records returned in the chart. If the returned rows are greater than or equal to 7 (The amount of days I want the average) it will set the points to 7. If not, it will set the number to the amount of returned rows. So far this has worked great. I'm probably going to add more code to handle no records returned although in my case that shouldn't happen but, you never know.
    A side note:
    If you open the calculated series properties in the designer, you will notice the number of periods is set to "0". If you change this it will overwrite your custom formula in the XML.

  • Is it possible to import a SWF with a transparent background into Catalyst?

    Hi,
    Here's what I'm hoping to happen. I've created presentation in Catalyst and I was hoping to import an animation I created in Flash into the title screen of the presentation in Catalyst. Problem is, I don't want the background from the SWF to cover the background of the presentation in Catalyst. I know that you can make a SWF appear transparent in an HTML file using the "window mode" when publishing a SWF from Flash. Is this at all possible?
    Thanks!

    I figured it out. And yeah, it is possible. The way I did it was to publish the SWF with the HTML file  while making sure that the window mode is set to transparent. I then was able to import the SWF to my library in Catalyst without the background and then use multiple instances of it. Works great.

  • Unloading a loaded external SWF with a close button on the external SWF to unload

    I have found some discussion on this topic but I am still having trouble getting it to work and was hoping to get some help here.
    Here I have a file: http://www.dril-quip.com/test/main.swf
    I have: main.swf (a menu) and I have module.swf (content)
    If you navigate to Subsea Wellhead Systems/SS-15 BigBore II and click on that I have it load an external swf which covers most of the parent.
    So far so good. My problem is unloading the loaded 'Child' swf with the button provided on the loaded 'Child' swf.
    below is the code I used to load the file but I cant, for the life of me, find a way to unload it.
    var bigboreLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    btnbb2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, bigborecontent);
    function bigborecontent(event:MouseEvent):void{
    var bigboreRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("moduletemplate.swf");
    bigboreLoader.load(bigboreRequest);
    stage.addChild(bigboreLoader);
    I am certain it requires the Child to communicate with the parent somehow but I am at a loss. If I could get a bit of advice or a link to something deal with this, it would be a big help. I just need to have my links load my modules and the remove them when the close buttong is hit on the loaded swf. I promise I have done searches and I admit I have found asnwers but still they are not working. I found the code below:
    Main FLA:
    function removeF() {
    removeChild(bigboreLoader);
    var bigboreLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    btnbb2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, bigborecontent);
    function bigborecontent(event:MouseEvent):void{
    var bigboreRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("moduletemplate.swf");
    bigboreLoader.load(bigboreRequest);
    stage.addChild(bigboreLoader);
    EXTERNAL FLA:
    btnClose2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, bigborecontent);
    function bigborecontent(myevent:MouseEvent):void {
    MovieClip(parent.parent).removeF();
    I think I have a misunderstanding of the code. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

    This was the original code I got:
    Main FLA: (on AS layer inside DropDownButton Movie Object)
    function removeF() {

    your isse begins here ..
    loadSection()
    you use the same loader to not only load files but you are tyring to use it to target the movieClip you also want to play.
    The issue is loader.  The loader can only reference one load at a time.. otherwise you screw up your listeners and the ability to unload files properly.
    You should load all files in Your current system as its own variable so that while one loads you can still control a movie.
    So what type of end transitions do your files have?
    What exactly with this seems like youre getting an issue.. looking at it looks alright aside from the fact that some methods are not used at all by your class

  • Powerpoint converter hangs with converting PP presentation with audio

    Hi all,
    I've been using Captivate v5 before. Now I've starting Captivate 6 and now I've got an issue:
    When I import a Powerpoint presentation (2003) with a  voice over, made in powerpoint, the powerpoint converter hangs. No response on any click. The taskmanager gives a CPU load of a continues 15%.
    This procedure did work in v5.
    When I delete the voiceover in Powerpoint and import this presentation, it gives no problem. All the settings are default. Do I have to configure something??
    regards,
    Bert

    Hi there,
    Thanks for reaching Adobe Community. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.
    Please try the below steps and then try to reimport the PowerPoint Presentation.
    Windows XP:
    Close Captivate.
    Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6
    Rename the Captivate 6 folder to anything.
    Try to reimport the project.
    Windows Vista/7:
    Close captivate.
    Go to C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6
    Rename the Captivate 6 folder.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks!

  • Problems with Charts

    I make an application with Apex 2.2. It works fine.
    I've tried to export app and import to Oracle XE.
    It works but I've a problem with the charts: they are all empty!
    For example, I make a cluster bar chart with one series:
    select *
    from table(cast(portal_pk_report_vendite.f_chart_shops_line(:P1_TIPI_ANALISI, 0,9,:APP_USER) as portal_table_graph))
    The query call a procedure that return an object table with the following columns:
    link
    description
    value
    The chart is always empty.
    If I manually force the parameters it works and data returned:
    select *
    from table(cast(portal_pk_report_vendite.f_chart_shops_line(40, 0,9,10) as portal_table_graph))
    It seems that it's not able to passa values to chart.
    Doing chart debug, items were correctly initialized.
    It appens with all charts of any kind.
    Any ideas?

    I know that there aren't differences between Apex ad XEAndrea,
    Oracle Application Express (APEX) is a hosted declarative development environment for developing and deploying database-centric Web applications. XE is a free version of the world's most capable relational database Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2). So difference is huge!
    APEX can run (depending on version) on different Oracle database editions (XE, SE, SEO and EE).
    You have problem if your application running on APEX on XE and not if running on APEX on SE, SEO or EE. Am I right?
    Question is does it really database (XE) making you problems with charts (what has not much sense to me) or APEX itself?

  • Deploying swf with resources into a single sis on Nokia

    Hi finally i have my first question on the mobile forum . I am trying to package a sis file which will contain the main swf and a settings text file.
    The problem is the i have to compile them to deliver both together on Nokia device for flash lite 2.1. There is not a single decent packager out there as o see that solves my issue.
    Generally i use Nokia carbide. Here is a glimpse of my PKG file:
    ; Add any installation notes if applicable
    ;"MobiStore.txt"          -"!:\private\E4B653CF\MobiStore.txt"
    ;required for application to be covered by backup/restore facility
    "..\sis\backup_registration.xml"          -"!:\private\E4B653CF\backup_registration.xml"
    ;Add all the files needed by your flash app here. don't forget to set correct folder names!
    "..\data\MobiStore.swf" - "!:\private\E4B653CF\MobiStore.swf"
    "..\data\settings.txt" - "!:\private\E4B653CF\settings.txt"
    Now what happens is that after the application installs on a actual Nokia device It gives error "private\E4B653CF\settings.txt" Not found !!
    I confirm that the file is there manually but the swf cannot find it. In the swf i load the file "settings.txt" using loadvars.load method and providing just the file name "settings.txt",  no sub-folders or anything. So basicaly the file "MobiStore.swf" and "settings.txt" are in same folder but when i run the application it says:
    "private\E4B653CF\settings.txt" Not found !!
    I will really appreciate if some one can help me out with this. How to package a swf with resource files into sis and deploy on a real device.

    Hey,
    i have the same problem. Flash Lite 3.1., N97 The application is published with network only. I have even tried local only with same results.
    When i try to load an image with loadMovie(image.jpg), image is not show. But this only occurs when the application is installed on E:/private/UID/. If i install the application on C:, everything is working ok.
    Also same problem with loading images from http://127.0.0.1:8888/GetImage/image.png. If installed on E:, images are not shown, but if installed on C:, all images are visible. Is this problem with security? My servlet http://127.0.0.1:8888/crossdomain.xml is never called.
