POWL refresh for calculated dates

Hi,
When I use my POWL with calculated dates configured in POWL_QUERY.When I refresh the same in POWL Worklist after the next day this is not getting refer it is refreshing dates only when I click the calculated dates tab in POWL_QUERY.

POWL is based on personalization framework where every user has its own
set of queiries and types, which are assigned using TX POWL_QUERYR or
POWL_TYPER which is role based. Similarlaly POWL_QUERYU and POWL_TYPEU
for user based.
If you want to delete a query from all users, please delete a entry from
POWL_TYPER or POWL_QUERYR.

I have been trying to find a solution to the same error message
In my case, the power pivot reports were working before on a regular team site , but then two things changed:
a) I created a toplevel site using the BI Center template. Now I am using a Business Intelligence template , created a power pivot gallery library and uploaded a few powerpivot reports
b) On the  backend, the database instance was upgrated to SQL Server 2012
     Front end Server VDSP01 remains SQL Server 2008 R 2 where Sharepoint 2010 was installed as a FARM
Now, the reports will display in sharepoing however they will not refresh. the error message i get is the same.
Scenario recap:
a- Server VDSP01 uses SQL Server 2008 R 2 where Sharepoint 2010 was installed as a FARM
b- On the back end, the database instance name was replaced with SQL 2012 Server:
         from SQL Server 2008 R 2 (instance DBDEV-COTS\COTS)
           to     SQL Server 2012 ( instance VTSQL01\COTS)
c-  I was told that:
     From VDSP01, they ran
CliConfg.exe to create SQL Server Alias :
       where    BEFORE: vdsharepoint --> DBDEV-COTS\COTS
            and AFTER    : vdsharepoint --> VTSQL01\COTS

Baseline Date for Due Date Calculation required for S/L indicators

Hello,
Iu2019m facing the following problem
Iu2019m trying to insert an invoice (using a customer master record) but the system blocks me because the field ZFBDT (Baseline Date for Due Date Calculation) is a Required entry.
The strange thing is that if I use a S/L indicators the field is mandatory, if not the date may be defaulted.
I checked in OB41 but there are non differences between Special PK and normal PK.
Any ideas?

Dear Alberto,
the field "Due On (BSEG-ZFBDT)" cannot be controlled with field status.
It is controlled by field attribute of screen painter (Tcd: SE51). If
you look at element attribute for "Due On" field, a flag for required
entry is activated. In this case, field status has no control over
the field.
As of release 3.1G, field BSEG-ZFBDT is hardcoded in most FI screens
to be mandatory and cannot be influenced by any field status
changes. This situation is only valid when posting with special G/L
indicator (ie PK 29/39).
SAP development team has determined that this is a critical field. The
reason behind this is that this special GL screen and the data entered
here are very important to many other programs. This data affects
liabilities and receivables where due date is necessary almost
everytime. Thus, we changed this field in this screen in order to
prevent problems in many other areas. The reason is explained further
in note 95079.

Did you not see my answer for CASE because CASE does indeed offer the use of the BETWEEN clause, but DECODE does not. Let me give you a little synopsis of DECODE.
In its most simple form it takes 4 values and looks like this: DECODE(A, B, C, D)
This essentially means, IF A = B THEN C ELSE D
The trick to solving BETWEEN in a DECODE is to work out algoriths where A = B. Because we don't know how many values are between 00 and 99, although I could guess there were 100 we could of course have 100 parts in the DECODE but that would be awful. How about if we look at it another way and say this:
IF PART_NUMBER < 'SDK00' THEN pay_amount
ELSE IF PART_NUMBER > 'SDK99' THEN pay_AMOUNT
ELSE pay_amount + 100
This statement only had 2 hard coded values, but how to make DECODE work with less than? Easy, we use the LEAST function. The LEAST function takes 2 values and returns the one with the lowest value. So I use LEAST(PART_NUMBER, 'SDK00') then whenever the PART_NUMBER is lower than SDK00 it will be true. A similar situation exists for the opposite function GREATEST. Putting all of this together then, you can do this:
DECODE(PART_NUMBER, GREATEST(PART_NUMBER, 'SDK00'), DECODE(PART_NUMBER, LEAST(PART_NUMBER, 'SDK99'), PAY_AMOUNT * 100, PAY_AMOUNT), PAY_AMOUNT)
In English this can be read as follows:
IF the PART_NUMBER is greater than or equal to SDK00 and the PART_NUMBER is less than or equal to SDK99 THEN PAY_AMOUNT x 100 ELSE 0

Dynamic Date Calculation for Current Date - 1

I am trying to create a variant with a dynamic date calculation attribute.
I am following the instructions as they are posted to the web but I get an error message.
I want to get all data EQ to the current date -1
In the object for selection screen I enter a D for Selection Variable, for Name of Variable I enter an I to include specific values and the option EQ for current date +/- ??? days. Then I enter 1- for the number of days. I have tried to enter this many times and in many ways but it doesn't work. I keep getting this message "lower limit of interval is greater than upper limit"

OPTION

HIGH
Pass your date value in the option low for the screen.
Sign you have already pass as I and option as EQ.

How to calculate and save planning data in bex input-ready query using keyfigures for calculation from different infoproviders

Hi Dear All,
We have two real time infocubes and two aggregation levels based on these cubes in one multiprovider
first cube1 is like
char1| char2| keyfig_coefficient(single value for each combination of char1 and char2)
same aggregation level1
(we have input query to fill coefficients by one responsible user)
second cube2 is like
char1| char2| keyfig_quantity| keyfig_result
same aggregation level2
Input ready query should be like (for all other users of different org units)
char1|char2|keyfig_coeff| keyfig_quant(for input) | keyfig_result = keyfig_coeff*keyfig_quant(calculated value, should be saved to cube2)
And we don't have pregenerated lines in cube2, users have to add new lines themselves by wad.
Question is, what is the optimal (easiest) way to make calculation and save result data to cube2 where keyfigures for calculation should be used from different infoproviders. I need just a hint.

i think your date format and system date format is not suitable.

Changing time-out for scheduled data refresh

Using a Power Query connection, is it possible to extend the time-out time for scheduled data refreshes? The amount of data to be retrieved is rather limited, but there's thousands of rows (NAV server).
If not, any suggestions to how to reduce latency?

How to Flip the Sign using Calculation script for historical data

I am currently using Essbase 9.3.1. Its required to flip sign for a specific set of accounts for that i am currently using UDA's to flip the sign.

Of course there is. This is the kind of calc script that only gets run once, so make usre you test it well before doing it on production and make a backup of production before doing it.
It would be something like
Fix(time frame, accounts to be flipped, level zero other dimensions)
actual = actual * -1;
EndFix
Cal dim dimensions
Note, I chose actual, but you could do it for any dimension that has a single or only a couple of members. What ever dimension you choose to do the calculation on, it can't be included in the fix statement

JTable Refreshing problem for continuous data from socket

Hi there,
I am facing table refreshing problem. My table is filled with the data received from socket . The socket is receiving live data continuously. When ever data received by client socket, it notify table model to parse and refresh the data on specific row. The logic is working fine and data is refresh some time twice or some thrice, but then it seem like java table GUI is not refreshing. The data on client socket is continuously receiving but there is no refresh on table. I am confident on logic just because when ever I stop sending data from server, then client GUI refreshing it self with the data it received previous and buffered it.
I have applied all the available solutions:
i.e.
     - Used DefaultTableModel Class.
     - Created my own custem model class extend by AbstractTableModel.
     - Used SwingUtilities invokeLater and invokeAndWait methods.
     - Yield Stream Reader thread so, that GUI get time to refresh.
Please if any one has any idea/solution for this issue, help me out.

Month calculations: DATE() vs EDATE()

In a recent topic (Challenge to get a date correctly), I mentioned using the DATE function to calculate a date that is (for example) one month later than a given one. Specifically, if cell A1 contains the given date, then I suggested using this formula for a date one month later:
=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+1,DAY(A1))
Yvan Koenig suggested instead using the simpler EDATE formula, here equivalent to:
EDATE(A1,1)
There is, as it turns out, more than simplicity in favor of Yvan's approach. While one might expect the two formulas always to produce the same results, they do not! This is easily seen by constructing the following three column table with a column header:
1. In cell A2, enter the last day of the first month of this year (January 31, 2008 in the U.S. system, for example). In the cell below it, enter the last day of the second month of this year (Feburary 29, 2008, for example).
2. Next, select both cells & use the circular fill handle, drawing down to fill the column with a year or so of last-day-of month values.
3. Select cell B1 (a header cell) & enter in the formula bar & press return:
=DATE(YEAR(A),MONTH(A)+1,DAY(A))
4. Likewise, in cell C1 enter:
=EDATE(A,1)
Note that the B & C column values are sometimes the same, sometimes not. The same results occur if the "1" in both formulas is replaced with another number of months.
What seems to be happening is the 'MONTH(A)+n' expression uses the number of days in the month of the "A" cell value as the basis for the 'n months later' calculation, which is not the convention usually used for such things as billing cycles. The EDATE formula follows the normal convention, & is thus the preferred choice for almost all uses imaginable ... unless perhaps you are the one being billed.
This also applies to 'YEAR(A) + n' calculations.
So, it would seem that any calculation involving the DATE(year, month, day) form with an arithmetic operator in the year or month element should be used only with great care, if at all.
BTW, the comments about the month unit of calendar time having "no real purpose today" in http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-time.html may be of interest.

I'm aware of the blue warning triangle appearing in these "overflow" situations; however, even when it does not, the results may be different -- for example, with a starting date of January 31st, adding one month in my long formula produces a month argument that is in bounds but (for 2008) yields a date 2 days later than with the EDATE method.
I don't view this so much a bug as a consequence of the vague nature of the "n months later" or of the "month offset" concept. As the cited scholarly article points out, the concept of the months of the year are of somewhat obscure mystic origins, & there lengths were arbitrarily set, often for reasons more political than practical. Between the 1st & 28th day of any month, the concept is unambiguous -- it is the same numbered day in the other month, but for the 29th through 31st day of the month it is not, depending on the starting month.
From what little I have been able to discover from casual research, the EDATE results are the standard more by custom than by any well-defined rule: what we mean by the offset references the first, last, or some near-the-end-of-the-month day number, whichever seems the most suitable at the time.
I do not have Excel on my Macs, but since the functions are similar, I would be interested in learning how that application behaves with this table.

I ticked the checkbox "Characterist. is export data source" in the master data Info object maintenance screen.
In the Infosource area, for the desired Infoobject --> Right click --> Generate export datasource --> a dialog box displays saying "The generation of DataSource was successful"
Problem:
Even after refreshing, etc.. I couldn't find the generated datasource 8**** for the above master data. I also tried to replicate the datasource from the myself source system, but couldn't find it even there. I don't know where the generated export data source is hiding ???
Could anyone please help ????

Hi Venkat,
I guess that after creating an export datasource for infoobject this DS should appear in the RSA1-Source systems - MYSELF - datasource overview (with name starting with 8). Since it's a datamart, it should appear also as system generated infosource. And in this case you would be able to assign in URs of data target the appropriate infosource (make sure that in Infoproviders tab of RSA1 you have inserted your infoobject as a data target).
However, there are some bugs related to export data source. CHeck if you see you export data source in RSA6.
If you don't see it - consider applying OSS Note #816892 - "30BSP26: Export DS for master data is not generated".
Note #876845 - "30BSP29: InfoObject change: Export DataSource not adjusted" is also may be useful.
