POXPOPDF MODULE: PO OUTPUT FOR COMMUNICATION WITH ERROR

Part of the error that I got running the process POXPOPDF(Purchasing Orders) is the following:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/w3c/dom/ranges/Range
at oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XMLNode.<clinit>(XMLNode.java:3162)
at
oracle.xdo.parser.v2.NonValidatingParser.<init>(NonValidatingParser.java:157)

Oracle recommended me to upgraded Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 (see note 271148.1), but it happends in only one instance.
In other instance, we haven't upgraded the XML Parser and We don't have the error.
Have you ever got this error or any similar error? What do you suggest?

ICX was already checked.... The Issue got resolved when I select the check box "Can Change Forward-To" in the Setup --> purchasing --> Document type window for Standard Purchase Order.

PO Output For communication does not Show 'Purchase Order Layout' parameter

Hi,
I am working on Implementing PO PDF with XML data and RTF Template. I have created a new template in XML Publisher and followed the following set up steps
Setup / Organizations / Purchasing Options / Control TAB / set 'PO Output Format' = 'PDF'
setup / purchasing / document types / select "Standard Purchase Order" / Set the Document Type Layout to your new template.
When I view the document from PO Summary > inquire > View Document, I get an adobe reader error
'File does not begin with '%PDF-', how ever when I preview it from the template definition, it opens fine.
I tried running PO Output for communication with my custom template but I don't see the parameter 'Purchase Order Layout'. The last parameter in the list is 'Include Blanket'.
Am I missing any set up steps? However when I use the standard Purchase Order Layout in Document Types set up, the Inquire > View Document created a PDF output.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I am not using a barcode font. I am using RenderX's XSL stylesheets to generate the barcode. As I said, the barcode generate's fine in the PDF on my computer but does not appear in the PDF when the code is moved to Oracle.

12.1.1 PO Output for Communication errors all POs created after upgrade

Hi All -
We are in the middle of upgrade testing and have encountered a critical issue with "PO Output for Communication (POXPOPDF)." All POs created after the upgrade are completing with error. We are able to generate pdf output for POs generated in 11.5.10.2 before the upgrade. This error is occurring even with seeded "PO_STANDARD_XSLFO.xsl" template as well.
The log file has the following message towards the end.
getArchiveOn(): APPROVE
getArchiveOn()=APPROVE m_viewOrCommunicate=Communicate
getArchiveOn(): APPROVE

PO is getting archived properly, so it is definitely an issue with document generation. We have had a SR logged for over three weeks, but there has been not much progress on this. Support has logged a new bug for this. We are unable to view bug transcript, so I am not certain as who is working this bug.
Any help or pointers will be much appreciated.

Pl see if MOS Doc 433600.1 (PO Output for Communication Fails When Item Description Contains Special Characters) is relevant in your case. The error message is similar to your case.

Problem with PO Output for Communication

Hi,
i have a problem with the pdf in R12.1.3. The rtf file we have is used in R11.5.10 and is working properly but after we sat up the R12 environment and we started the testing we can now see that the system don't create any pdf documents in View Document or when we sending email to supplier.
When we check the log we just get the error message "genDoc() : Exceptionjava.lang.Exception: Error while generating PDF :null
java.lang.Exception: Error while generating PDF :null"
Any one having an idéa on what it could be. Is there major changes between R11 and R12 when it comes to BI Publisher.

Hi Lena,
Upon upgrading to release 12.1.3, the views used are not proper and cause issues.
This is fixed in Patch 10388305:R12.PO.B.
There are a few critical issues when moving to 12.1.3 -
Note 1358356.1 - Recommended Patches for Purchase Order and Requisition Processing
This note outlines some of the top issues - and recommends the patches.
The exception however does seem to point to the ICX and XDO Numeric profiles. Please ensure these are set at the site level.
Another common cause for this type of failure could be related to special characters - although it would show a message like this usually -
genDoc() : PoPDFExceptionoracle.apps.po.communicate.PoPDFException: PO_PDF_XML_FAILED
oracle.apps.po.communicate.PoPDFException: PO_PDF_XML_FAILED
If you are seeing this - there is the following note -
Note 1346198.1 - PO Output For Communicate Failed With ORA-31061
This note describes how certain database versions (with a specific patch) can have an event set in the init.ora file which will allow the xml parser to
take action against special characters. Its a nice alternative to having to debug the PO Output for communication.
This note is very good - having screen prints - of how to debug the OPP - from a purchasing perspective.

TS1717 Having trouble running iTunes version 11.0.2 on a Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1. Keep getting an error message "the software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly..." reinst

Having trouble when I launch iTunes (version 11.0.2) on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1). I get an error message indicating software required to communicate with iPod and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you? I normally respond with OK and it immediately tells me "could not be repaired. Please reinstall iTunes..." I have done this a number of times to no avail.

I also notice Quicktime is not getting installed at all.
That one is normal nowadays (ever since the iTunes versions 10.5.x).
The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").

2 error messages when opening itunes: "The software required for communicating with Ipods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want Itunes to repair this for you?" When clicking yes another message indicates not able to remove services. Another message is: "Service (ipod service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system sources." I've uninstalled all Apple services (itunes, quicktime, apple software update, apple mobiles devices support, bonjour and apple application support and reinstalled itunes/quicktime - no change in error messages. I cannot burn CDs using Itunes. This all seemed to happen when I updated itunes to version 10. I have a Windows 7 64-bit operating system on a Dell Inspiron Zino HD; the Itunes software is also 64 bit.

after trying to install my ipod nano for the first time the error msg came up saying that the software for communicating with the ipod had not been installed correctly and needed to be reinstalled. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the itunes and ipod software and followed the trouble shooting steps from the web page but every time i plug my ipod in after reinstalling the same message comes up. when i try to use the updater a "service error" comes up and apart from restore i have also tried the five r's can someone please help me

Print PO Output for Communication (POXPOPDF) in XML

Please someone guide how to generate a PDF form of PO through the request PO output for communication.
After gaining whatever knoweldge I could from metalink, I have defined a data definition in XML Publisher and also changed the output of the request to XML, to generate an XML output so that I can use that in the template builder to generate a layout template.
My request PO output for communication is completing in error and is nnot producing any output.
Please suggest , are there any missing steps?

Yes, I am having the value for this tag.
I will give you more clarification.
The Requestor/Deliver To Person is at the shipment level.
So for each shipment, there will be a RDT person. It can be same for every shipment or different.
Hence I have name stored at every shipment row.
So the tag is NOT NULL
All these names are stored in the same xml tag at different shipment rows.
Is there any way to check whether the xml tag at all the shipment rows are having the same value or different values?

I'm new to xml publisher technology. I need guidance to customize the standard "PO Output for Communication" report using XSL-FO.
The satndard report generates a PDF in portrai mode. I need it to be generated in landscape mode as well as I need to make some modifications like adding the company logo re-aligning the components on the lay out.
Can somebody guide me how to customize usinf XSL-FO templates?

PO Output For Communication Program is not Submitting in Background PO appr

Hi Gurus,
We are working on "PO Output For Communication" Program.We created a Standard Purchase Order and Approved it through the "E-Mail" option checked."PO Output For Communication" program was not submitted in the background.
From the workflow we found that it was stucked at PO new Communication Process.
As the value of column "po_output_format" is NULL in the "PO_SYSTEM_PARAMETERS" table it is not submitting in background.
Already in the front end
Purchasing responsibility->setup->organizations->purchasing options
under Documnet control we assigned Output format column as "PDF".
Will you please provide us your valuable solution as soon as possible.

This Program "PO Output for Communication" does effects in other parts.
I mean that this program actually sends an email (or fax or print) along with the PO in PDF attachment or in the TEXT format.
This program does other part than the above mentioned point also.If yes then provide me the information in which other parts this program effects.I believe it is only the part you mentioned above.

Customize Output of the PO Output for Communication program R12

I have a requirement to change the output of the seeded PO Output for Communication program, so that it uses a custom RTF template to produce the documents.
To do this, I have registered this template in XML Publisher under the Purchasing application. I then navigated to Purchasing Super User > Setup > Purchasing > Document Types, and from the window opened, selected to update the Purchase Order Standard Type. From here, I updated the document name and the document type layout as my new custom template.
However, once I run the program, it completes with an error. The log file is pages and pages (that I won’t post here unless requested as necessary) but at the bottom is section produced that I think may be useful:

As you can see it's definitely picking up my custom template (NCC_STD_PO_RTF), and it appears to error when tryign to generate it as PDF.
I have attempted to attach the seeded xsl template to my template definition - to test if the error is due to the program expecting a certain template format - but, as the seeded template is in that particular format, and my definition is expecting rdf, it will not let me.
I am wondering if anyone has a solution for this requirement. We would like to keep the business process the same as it was in 11i, by using the seeded program, but with a custom template. But I understand that in R12, creating a custom program replicated from the seeded may be the only viable solution.
This is on Oracle Applications version 12.1.3.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated, and if you think that any more information is required, let me know.

Publisher version is 10.1.3.4.2.
It seemed to be a data issue. When a certain test PO with a insufficient amount of data in the XML output was put through the template, and hit these clauses, it failed, and the concurrent program errored.

XML PO Output for Communication does not show barcode on PDF

Hi,
I am attempting to add a barcode to the PO Output for Communication XSL style sheet. I am doing this by calling 2 RENDERX XSL style sheets, the second containing an SVG template.
I have successfully accomplished this locally on my personal computer using FOP to generate the PDF (barcode appears perfectly). When I transfer the files to Oracle (the new custom PO XSL-FO style sheet in a template, along with 2 new templates for the 2 RenderX XSL stylesheets. The RenderX style sheets appear to be imported at runtime using calls similar to: <xsl:import href="xdo://PO.ALKS_CODE128_BARCODE.en.US/"/>
The PO Output for Communication report runs successfully with no errors or warnings, and all of the output appears EXCEPT for the barcode (remember this is SVG). Same thing happens when I View Document from the PO form.
Why does my SVG barcode not appear on the PO Output for Communication within Oracle, yet the same code runs perectly on my PC. I've looked into the Adobe SVG Viewer plug-in, but I do not have that on my local machine yet the barcode appears fine in the PDF. It seems the PDF should be able to show any image anyway.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How can We Customize Format of the output of "PO Output for Communication" Program.
Executable is "POXPOPDF" Execution File name is "PoGenerateDocumentCP" which is a java program.
"PO Output for Communication Program" is used to generate DRAFT PO details in pdf Format to go with Workflow Notification for PO Approval.

Infact we need to Change Format/data of the pdf file wich comes with Workflow Notification PO "Response Required for PO Approval".
I the pdf file attached is generated by "PO Output for Communication" Concurrent Program.
Executable is "POXPOPDF" Execution File name is "PoGenerateDocumentCP" which is a java program.
This prgram uses the following files to generate pdf output of draft PO output.
DATA FILE:
PO_STANDARD_PO.xml
PO_STANDARD_PO.xsd
TEMPLATE:
PO_STANDARD_XSLFO.xsl
I need to know any visual layout editor available to change contents/layout/data of this pdf.
