PP CC (Mac) not compatible with PP CC (Win)?
Dear all,
I have a Premiere Pro CC project that was saved on Mac. I brought it to my client's place, which also uses CC but on Windows, to show him the project but was unable to open it for edit. The error message was:
"The project was saved in a newer version of premiere pro and cannot be opened in this version."
I'm not sure specifically what minor version of CC the client was using and am aware of CC/CS6 incompatibilities, but this being professional software I can not reasonably expect files to work across different minor versions of CC?
It would be quite ridiculous if otherwise.
adobe updated premiere cs8.1 to a new project version and didn't bother telling anyone. they are treating these updates like an mmo game, rather than a professional work environment. you will need to update to 8.1 or latest version 8.2 to be able to open the project. can update from help menu in premiere or from the adobe creative cloud app.

Files to memory stick from mac not compatible with windows?
Before I installed leopard I was easily able to copy photos, files and other docs to my memory card sticks and have them read on windows no problem but not now with leopard.
What should I do? What's the best format to format the card so that windows users can read my files or that I can transfer my files to a HD from my mac and copy to windows.
thanksWell...it seems like my perfectly good 2GB card crashed on me. Your right, it doesn't work on any computer and it even failed the format option in windows.

Mac not compatible with Data Motion
Hi,
I'm unable to download financial documents from my bank, Alpine Bank in Colorado, because the bank uses an online security service called "Web Sense", from a company called DataMotion that doesn't work very well with Macs (or so I've been told by the bank's IT person). The process is supposed to work as follows: the bank sends me PDF documents in an encrypted email, which I then forward to Web Sense. Web Sense then opens a browser window containing a sign-in form with my email address and an open field for me to enter my email password. So I then enter my email password, which the page rejects, and the page resets. I can't get past this page. I've tried to get through using an earthlink address, and a gmail address, and I've tried doing it with Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. I've never given either the bank nor Web Sense my email passwords, and I don't want to. If anyone can explain how I can resolve this problem, I'd really appreciate it. The IT tech at the bank is giving me the ole' crazy-making argument that Web Sense isn't compatible with Macs because Macs represent less than five percent of the PC market. I'm running 10.7.5 on an Intel iMac. ThanksTo make sure your Mac meets the requirements for Mountain Lion, check the model number. This information supplements what Paul_31 gave you.

My mac has OSX version 10.8.2 and I'm try to install an aiport express base station which requires 10.5.7 or later. Yet when I try to install the software it says the base station is not compatible with my mac version - how do I resolve?
You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express

I can't access my email on firefox , it states that I am using an old version of firefox that is no longer compatible with gmail, however when I try to upgrade to a newer version I get a window that says that my computer is not compatible with the new version. Is there one that is??
Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6 (Firefox 16 runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5).

For an unofficial Firefox 17.0.10 ESR compatible version that runs on a PowerPC Mac with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at TenFourFox.

Upgraded old Mac mini (from 10.4 to 10.6) PowerPC G4 Processor, downloaded latest version of Firefox and ran installer, got a dialogue box that said 'not compatible with this architecture', now I don't have Firefox at all, and it is my preferred browser.
Firefox '''4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac''' and require at least OS X 10.5 and an '''Intel Mac'''.
The''' latest supported version for your os is 3.6.26''' , you can download it from:

Just got an iPhone 5, and learned that the 100 or more CDs that I had uploaded to iTunes on my older Mac cannot be downloaded to my new phone using iCloud/iMatch. I match is not compatible with the older operating systems. I spoke to a Apple genius, and he said that there is software out there that will do the job. Is anyone familiar with any of these? Frustrated, and need help.
I regret to say that you need a new computer. That G5, as good as it still is, simply cannot run the required software to be used with the latest iPhones and other software.

I recently purchased an HP Deskjet 3050A All-In-One J611 series printer and it is not compatible with the version of the operating system on my mac book pro. I am currently running on OS X 10.4.11 and the printer is compatible with v10.5 or higher. What can I do to update the operating system on my Mac Book Pro?
10.5 will be harder to find & more expensive, I think I'd go for 10.6
Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
Apple no longer has it for sale.
Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
General requirements
* Mac computer with an Intel processor
* 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

Itunes is not compatible with mac osx 10.5.8
latest itunes not compatible with mac osx 10.5.8. How do I resolve this?
You need Snow Leopard at least.
MacBook upgrade possibilities - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19577869 - "The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion."

My Macbook browser is not compatible with a business website I must use for work. Is there a Windows compatible browser for my Mac?
If the site has been optimised for IE (which is non-standards compliant), the best you can try is to spoof IE from Safari.
I'm using an earlier version of Safari than you, so I hope Allan or someone will correct me if the procedure is different.
First, go to Safari Preferences and enable the developer menu;
Then go to the menu and select User Agent - choose a flavour of IE.
Works about 50% of the time.
It won't work if the site is using Activex controls. -

I just had OS updated on a Power Book - following a hard-drive crash, now running 10.5.6 - Tried to download/install Firefox 4 - get a "not compatible with this architecture" message upon launch. Any suggestions?
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party build that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
