PP_ORDER archiving

Hi,
When I run PP_ORDER archiving for the stage preprocessing (set deletion flag and deletion indicator), there is some warning message: "Open periods found in fiscal year 2003".
But I check transaction code S_ALR_87003642 (Open and Close Posting Periods), as well as transaction code MMPV and MMRV (open and close period for material master records). Fiscal year 2003 is already close, somemore 2003 is already 6 years ago and it is impossible that the period 2003 is still open !
Can anyone please advise what does it means by "Open periods found in fiscal year 2003" during the PP_ORDER archiving?
Kindly please advise. Thank you.

Hi Prasobh,
In  S_ALR_87003642, our open period is from period 4, 2010 (means October 2009) until period 5, 2010 (means November 2009).
Message Text : Open periods found in fiscal year 2003
Message No    : KI 812
This message is found in the job log under transaction code SM37.
Kindly please advise. Thank you.

    Summary
    Symptom
You are on SAP ECC 6.0 or ECC 7.0 (ERP2005 or ERP 2007). You don't use the industry solution GPD ('Grouping, Pegging, Distribution'). When you try to archive the object PP_ORDER or MM_EKKO, the pre-processing job completes fine, but the write job fails with the error: "Class AR_GPD to be registered is not known".

    Reason and Prerequisites
The reason is missing customizing entries.
    Solution
Please make the following changes in customizing/configuration:
    [1] Transaction ACLA:
You need to add a new entry as follows:
    Class    Description                    Function Group
AR_GPD    GPD Object Archive Class        AGPD
[2] For this archiving class, you need to define the "Tables to be Archived" as follows:
    Structure        Do not delete
    PEG_TACTASS       check
    PEG_TASS          check
    PEG_TSTK          check
[3] For the archiving class, define "tables from Which You Only Delete Entries:
    Tab. name
    PEG_TACTASS
    PEG_TASS
    PEG_TSTK
    [4] Transaction ACLA:
Class P_ORDER -> Archiving classes used: include AR_GPD.
    [5] Transaction AOBJ:
Archiving object MM_EKKO: Archiving classes Used -> AR_GPD
Archiving object PP_ORDER: Archiving classes Used -> P_ORDER

  • While mat .doc archiving error

How to find what are all the documents and how to correct the same ?
    Thanks

    Dear,
    Please go through the below:
    Archiving (transaction SARA)
Data archiving removes bulk data which is no longer required in the System, but which must be retained accessibly, from the database. Data in the R/3 database can only be archived via archiving objects, which describe the data structure. Financial accounting documents, for example are archived via the archiving object FI_DOCUMNT, which comprises the document header, company-code-dependent postings, change documents, SAPscript texts and other elements. The application archiving objects are pre-defined in the system. The archiving programs are scheduled as background jobs, but can run during on-line processing. The system need not be shutdown.
The archiving procedure comprises two main steps:
Create archive files: the data to be archived are first written sequentially into a newly created file. The data then exist twice in the database. These archive files can, e.g. be passed to an archive system, via ArchiveLink.
Execute delete program: the data in the archive files are removed from the database by the delete program.
You can check how the archive filenames and archive destination are setup in transaction FILE
Always remembers to check the setting before any archiving.  The settings will determine things like whether the delete programs will start automatically.  (it is not advisable to start your delete programs automatically).
You can configure all the customizing settings with transaction AOBJ - Archive Objects.
    MM_MATBEL - Archive material document
OMB9 - Archiving - Material document retention period.
The default documents life is 200 days.  You need to maintain the documents life for each Plant in your company before you can start archiving.  If you did not maintain, you will get a list with 'Valid.period not maintained for tr./ev. type of doc.'.
MM_ACCTIT - Archive accounting interface tables
The documents store in the table are for applications which are to be supplied with the posting data at a later date of MM Inventory Management and MM Invoice Verification.
If you are using 3.x, this archiving object might not be found. You need to import it from sapservX. Read note 89324, 99388, 83076.
Take a look at OSS note 48009 for the detail explanation of which data is updated in the ACCT* tables.
    PP_ORDER - Archive production order
OPJH - Production Order retention period. Maintain Retention 1 and 2.
If your set your retention 1 and 2 as 10, that means that after 10 days of setting the delete flag then you can set the deletion indicator.  After 10 days of setting the deletion indicator then you can start archiving.  Therefore, to archive immediately, you can leave retention 1 and 2 as space.  Please take note that retention 1 and 2 act as a safety net if you happened to archive the wrong record.  You will have to decide whether to have the retention time gap or not.
FI_DOCUMNT - Archive Financial Accounting Documents
Maintain the account life      - transaction OBR7
Maintain the documents life - transaction OBR8
    SD_VBRK - Archive Billing Documents
There are no posting date or fiscal year/period selection.  You can only specify the billing documents date.  In order that you do not archive the wrong record, you have to write a ABAP query or report to print out the various billing documents number ranges you want to archive.  You can extract the data from table
    VBRK - Billing: Header Data.
VN01 - Check all the number ranges for Billing Documents.
Click Overview buttom or Hold the Shift key and press F7.
    RV_LIKP - Archiving Deliveries
VORL - Maintain the retention period. Number of days which must have elapsed since the delivery was created, before the delivery can be archived.
    VLAL - Archive deliveries

  • PP_ORDER - Duplicate entries in archive file

    Hello Experts,
I am using the archiving object PP_ORDER in SARA. However, after executing 'write' , when I check in txn AS_AFB, under PP_ORDER, I can see that multiple archive files are created under the same run.
    Eg: 000182-001PP_ORDER , 000182-002PP_ORDER, 000182-003PP_ORDER etc.
Now, the problem is , in the files 000182-001PP_ORDER and 000182-002PP_ORDER, I could see that similar entries exist.
What causes such an inconsistancy? Why is the same entry being written to multiple archive files in the same run?
In the customizing settings for the object PP_ORDER, I have maintained the maximum size in MB to be 40 MB -> this is why multiple files are created in the same run.
Can any of you please throw some light on this at the earliest?
    Appreciate your time and answers.
    Thanks and warm regards,
    Deepthi

    Dear,
Archive File Browser using transaction AS_AFB.
The Archive File Browser is used to display the content of archive files. Note that this is purely a technical display. There is no business formatting.
Please note Info structures SAP_PP_ORDER001 and SAP_PR_ORDER001 delivered by SAP do not support duplicate index entries.
If you want to have multiple entries in the index, you must change the 'File in index' indicator from D to K in the field catalog of the info structure (Transaction SARI -> Customizing -> Environment -> Field catalogs). The name of the archive file then also belongs to the key and you can generate index entries for the same order in different archive files. You have to create an info structure with this field catalog to activate this change. That is, you must delete the old info structure and recreate and activate it using the modified field catalog. Remember that the system deletes the complete index table when you do this. You must rebuild the index table for the modified info structure by re-indexing the old archives.
You must use Note 387505 to use the archive information system with archiving object PR_ORDER.

  • How to find out prerequisites of archiving objects?

As we plan an archiving project for our ERP system, I would like to know how to find out the prerequisites for archiving the different objects.
For example, as I know for archiving material master data, the usage of object MM_MATNR requires that the deletion flag is set on materials.
Or as I assume, orders probably can only be archived if they are delivered and closed.
How to find out these prerequisites?
    Best regards
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
Network Graphics helps in determining the dependencies among the archiving objects.Once you have sorted out the flow you can schedule archiving in test mode to find more details.
Eg PP_ORDER you can find out why a particular order is not archivable...may be cos of unsettled balance..etc.
You can find few details about the prerequisites in the archiving run (test)
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Priya.

  • FILE Settings for Archiving

    Hi All,
I'm having some trouble with archiving.  Currently I am trying to archive production orders.  I have gone through the steps of finding TECO orders, setting their deletion flags and indicators with PPARCHP1, and have done a test run with PPARCHA1 which is successful.  However, when I try to do a production run, I recieve an error.  Also, when I try SARA and object PP_ORDER, I get an error in the log saying "Operating system message: No such file or directory".
I believe this is a problem with the settings in FILE.  I have made a logical path ARCHIVE_PROD and tried using a physical path to both my desktop, and another drive, such as I:\ARCHIVE\<FILENAME>.  The logical file name ARCHIVE_PROD1 with data format WK1, and refers to Logical path ARCHIVE_PROD.  I'm not sure what I should put for the Physical file.
Our BASIS admin has never worked with FILE either.  Could someone help me out on how to configure the logical file path and name correctly?
    Thanks,
    J

    Hi J,
    Try this:
    Logical Path-  'ARCHIVE_PROD'
    Physical Path- 'I:\ARCHIVE\<FILENAME>'
( i assume you are using Windows OS; choose syntax group as windows)
    Logical File Name: 'ARCH_PROD_LFN'
    Physical File Name: '<SYSID><CLIENT>_<PARAM_3>_<DATE>_<TIME>_<PARAM_2>'
(enter the pysical file name as it is, without the quotes. at run time SYSID will be replaced by system id, CLIENT by client number, PARAM_3 by archive object id, DATE by date, TIME by time and PARAM_2 by a counter value)
also take care that the archive folder I:\ARCHIVE\ in this case has proper permissions so that the sidadm user can access this folder for writing.
    all the best,
    Naveen

  • Strange problem with PP_ORDER with SARA

    Hello,
We are facing a problem with archiving  of PP_ORDER object.
We archived production orders from  100000000096 to 100000000113 where:
    1. Order 100000000113 which was collective order for orders 1..104 to 1..112
    2. Order 100000000103 which was collective order for orders 1..96 to 1..102
The case is that subordinated orders was archived with SARA properly and deleted from system. Unfortunately orders 1..113 and 1..103 wasn't archived. They doesn;t exist in archived files.
But when I type 100000000113 in CO02 i have a message "Order is already deleted. Do you want to display the order?". And I can display it despite that this should be archived but isn't.
Also when I try to push 'collective order overview" button in CO02 at order 100000000113 nothing is happened.
Any idea how to do proper archivisation of these two collective orders?
Now If I try to do another SARA PP_ORDER archivisation of orders 1..113 and 1..103 SARA is searching of its subordinate orders, and nothing is found = no archivization.
    Best regards,
    Michal

The case is that subordinated orders was archived with SARA properly and deleted from system
Check that the archiving sessions finish correctly in SARA -> Management and that the archive data is accesible on the storage system.
Check in the Archive explorer (SARI) that you can find the data, using the archive object and info structure.
The data should have not been deleted if the archiving session had problems during the process.

    Juan

  • Extracting R/3 archive-data like DS 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL

    Hi,
I need an idea how to extract archived R/3 data via Archiving Information System.
I already read the "How to...extract archived R/3 data via Archiving Information System". But I can't get all the fields like the standart datasource 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL is providing me from R/3.
The Archive Object pp_order should!? contain the necessary fileds, but with the given Field Catalog
    SAP_PP_ORDER001
    SAP_COBK_PPOR01 and
    SAP_AUAK_PPOR01
I'm just able to select <b>some</b> of the necesary fields I need for my InfoCube.
Where can I find the other fields? Are they in an other Archive Object or how can I see the whole structure (and available fields) of pp_order, so that I can extend the Field Catalog SAP_PP_ORDER001 manualy.
For any ideas or hints, I would be very thankful!!
    Matthias

can u thro some light on this....

  • "Business View" of archived data in ECC 6.0 ?

We have a customer that doesn't like the (ixos)view of archived pr_order and pp_order data (archived in SAP 4.7).
They will be going to ECC 6.0 next year and are hoping for a 'business' view of this data when they get there.  Is there such a thing?  Or, if you don't know the answer, do you have a place where you can point me so I can find more info?

  • PP_BKFLUSH reading archived data

    Hi all,
We are using the archiving object PP_BKFLUSH to archiving backflushing document data from Repetitive Manufacturing,  and due the audit requirements, the transaction SARA can no longer be accessed by users. Our way of reading the archived data for this object uses the reading program of SARA transaction.
Unlike from  PP_ORDER or PR_ORDER, that  have access to archived data directly from business transactions, the object PP_BKFLUSH not possess this characteristic.
It is possible create indexes or some infostructure for reading the data? I have found no SAPNote to create the field catalog and info structure to use  the transaction SARI for reading of archived data.
    Thank you,
    Luiz Albanese

    Hello Luiz,
You should be able to create your own custom archive information structure for this archive object.  Go to SARI -> Customizing -> Environment -> Field Catalogs.
Create your custom Field Catalog and then create a custom Infostructure based on the newly created field catalog.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Main transaction is SARA of all SAP archiving objects;
    1) Complete the customization steps of the SAP archive object on SARA
    2) In order to delete the documents, you need to archive the object successfully, first
    3) Then, you can delete the archive session object
    4) Do not forget to reorganize the archived tables and create the statistics
    The object name is PP_ORDER.
