PP PI resource selection with phase qty

Hi,
I used resource selection for the tank selection.
Currently the classification is only base on the coating.
Now there is several same coating tank with different volume.
Is that possible i create characteristic for phase quantity,
so the resource is selected via phase quantity and coating ?
for example
resouce
1. tank XX coating A 1000 L
2. tank YY coating A 2500 L
So if order charge for 750 L, the system will select resource tank XX (based on coating A and 0 < X < 1000 L)
I got this idea because i can populate GR date in batch characteristic when do GR and selected based on FIFO, so i think
characteristic in resouce selection can be populated with vakue automatically for phase qty too
Is there any idea?

Hi,
I am not sure but you can do it by using resource network concept.
Where you need to cretae class charecteristic based on your volume of vessal.
Nedd some work around but I think you can do it by same concept.

I think you have been using a work center in place of resouce.
Actually
Resource catagory = 0008 is assign to Application C (Recipe) & only use in Recipe Creation.
Work Center catagory = 0005 is assign to Application N & R( Routine & Refernce operation set) & only use in Routine Creation.

Resource Selection on Training and Event Management (PE) can't find it

Dear All,
I've been going nuts over this Resource Selection option. I choose to create an event with resources, but I can't find the button nor the menu option that brings the Resource Selection screen.
I'm using EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01
I'd appreciate any help.

Turns out that the event types I was using were not created with resources linked to them, that's why I couldn't find them

Query on resource selection condition

Hi All
I have a process order with a operation having a resource selection condition.In the classification of the master recipe i have entered the resource name(as characteristic value) as X whereas the name of the resource where the operation is to take place is A and in the classification of the resource A i have enter the characteristic value as "A".
Now is it possible to release the process order without getting the error message :"Resource in operation does not satisfy resource selection condition".
please advice.

Removing calls that are in the resource selection queue

Hi Folks, I have a strange query. Is there any way to remove calls that have been presented to the resource selection step but are in the queue waiting for a free agent? I have created a varable that gets the current time and then created another varable that is poplated with the same syntax that is received from the T[now] step then done a IF atep with a > between to check if the current time varable is greater than the other varables but thi sis then applied after the queued after the select resource step but it doesnt work obviously BUT I was wondering if it can be. If the system has already accepted a call and tried to present it to an agent, can it be removed?

I think I see clearer now.
Ok, so what you want to do is very logical and good practice. Instead of doing the time stamps, which will work, you could just use the time of day step.
Also, if you wanted to take it a step further, you could take the callers Estimated Wait Time (EWT) from the Get Reporting Statistics step (not all that accurate, but could be a good guess at times), and then see if the closing time (5:00 in your example) is more than the number of minutes away held in EWT, from the current time.
Example: Caller calls in a 4:55, and you close at 5:00. The EWT says they'll wait only 1 minute, then you queue them. However, if the EWT says they'll wait 8 minutes, then you do not queue them, and tell them you're already closed.
Just a thought, but it does sound like you are doing it right. I have seen too many times to count, people forgetting to put logic within the queue loop to cover things like business hours, day changes, holidays, no agents logged in, etc.

Asset Creation in PR and PO and MIGO as a single Line item with "N" qty

In Purchase requestion ME51N
Now we are creating "n" number of assets ( All are same item but "s.no" will vary) with "n" number of line item.
Instead of this I have to enhance to create only one line item( For same item) with "n" quantity.
for the ASSET account Assignment we have to create Asset(Temp no) for the each item/quantity(if the same item).
as well as if they are going to create a PO with ref to PR they have to see all the "n" number of asset no.
In MIGO creation for each asset we have to assign S.No and Asset Tag.
How enhance the functionality in PR,PO and MIGO as well as in Invoice.
Is it any User Exit/BADI is available for PR/POand MIGO to show all the "n" number of assets for a single line item.
Kindly help me to give details to proceed further.

Hi Sharma,
What i understand from your question is, you want to create a single line item in PR and PO. But the qty would be > 1.
Each single qty would have its own asset number in account asssignment tab of item details of PR & PO.
This is what you are expecting...Right???????????????
Then this is possible with certain limitations.
While creating PR, enter only one item with more qty.
In item details section, in account assignment tab, on top left corner, there will be a button called Multiple account assignments.
Click on it, then it looks like a table, where you can enter more than one line. (each line will have its own asset no)
And choose option Distribute on qty basis for field Distribution.
So that you can enter 1 qty for each line. ( Ex: if you created one line item in the item level with 10 qty, you need to maintain 10 line here, each qith 1 qty and diff asset no).
The only limitation to this is, the GRN would be treated as non valueted. So when you make GRN there wwould not be any accounting doc. ( means no use of GR/IR clearing account as like normal for POs)
when you prepare MIRO, all the assets will be capitalised and vendor credited.
But in case if you receive partial invoice, then you have choose manually in MIRO. which asset is ot be capitalised.
After entering the PO number in MIRO, there will be one line will be appeared with full qty. in the same line, move till the end of line, there you will have one button called Account assignments.
Choose and go there, here you can choose which individual asset line to be considired.
This will resolve your issue.

cursor operation) that is not flagged as opened. This can occur if a
COMMIT or ROLLBACK was executed within a SELECT loop (which closes all
opened cursors), followed by another attempt to access the cursor (for
example, the next time the loop is executed).
this error occur when apply bw support package 19.
sap notes 1118584 Solution is: Import Support Package 17 . but my support package is 19.
how can i solve this error?

I am only assuming things, but it might be worth to look closely if you were experiencing an ORA- error during the execution. This could have caused a rollback and thus closed the cursor. Please check the job log, the workprocess trace (dev_wX file) and the system log SM21 and ST22 as well.
Besides that check the oracle alertlog and the usertrace destination.

We are using bw support package 19 early this month. Previously is working fine but this problem occured from the last 2 days.
We are using MaxDB database.

We finally resolved the issue.
The solution:
We check the RFC connection test in SM59. There are connection error.
There is an error that related J2EE_ADMIN user.
SO we reset the J2EE_ADMIN id in SU01.
The problem goes away.

Logic of the code is as following
while <more data>
CALL RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ reading data in E_T_DATA
Append lines of E_T_DATA to EO_T_DATA.
If total lines of data in EO_T_DATA > 200000
<save EO_T_DATA in a file using GUI_DOWNLOAD>
<clear EO_T_DATA>
EndIF
EndWhile.
As soon as number of record exceed 200000 first file is saved, but after that next data call results in error.
Error says "Database selection with invalid cursor".
I suspect that this because of call to FM GUI_DOWNLOAD. While calling this FM after RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ causes system to commit and again the cursor is tried to open in next call casuing it to fail.
But it is imperative for me to save data in file at regular intervals as data volume is huge.
Any pointers in this direction will be helpful.

Resource booking with Windows 8.1 and office 2010

I've two SP3 Laptops running 8.1 on out network. I've Office 2010 installed on these and they are mostly working fine;
However they cannot book resources - this is a common win7 fault we would fix here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982774/en-gb
But its not working under Win 8.1, neither the fixit icon or the manual config.
We are presently running exchange 2003
Is there a 8.1 2010 fix you know of?

I have added an ABAP routine in one of the InfoPackage to filter a field CREATDATE(char,8).
Whenever I am executing the InfoPackage I am getting the following error:-
For sel. field 'CREATDATE', no selection with SIGN = 'I'; OPTION 'GE' allowed
Message no. RSM1607
Through debugging I have noticed that after the EndForm of the InfoPackage filter the Program control goes to a System Program "RSS2_INTERPRET_SELOPTS_DS". All the Selection Options (EQ, BT, GE, GT, NE, LT, etc ) are defined in this program and the program control ignores the 'GE' option code specified in the program "RSS2_INTERPRET_SELOPTS_DS".

Hi,
I guess in Infopackage filter routine, you can only declare multiple single values or a range i.e technically I EQ & I BT.
Excluding or greater/less functions are disregarded. You can create a dynamic infopackage filter to have all the dates say for the next two years from the start date & run it.
