PPCS4 Clip "Description" etc. won't save after capture process

During the logging/capturing process I have been entering information into the various Clip Data fields, such as Description, Scene, and Log Note.  Once the clips have been logged...and the project closed...when I start a new PProCS4 session, and retrieve those same clips...the Clip Data that I had entered does not appear next to the clips in the Project Panel?!?  Does this have to do with a Metadata issue?  Anyhelp ASAP would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

They are blank...nothing in the under the field heading
Complete workflow/actions are as follows - may be helpful here...
1. capture/log clips with added descriptions etc.
2. Batch capture above - creating .avi files
3. Close out of PPro CS4
4. Re-open PPro - and import the above .avi files
5. The .avi files now do not have the descriptions that were input during the capture/log process

  • Password won't save after iOS 6.1 update

I updated my iphone 5 to ios 6.1 and now imessage won't save my password. After the update, I kept being asked to enter my Apple ID password.  Each time I would enter the password and 30 seconds later the dialog would pop up again.  After entering it one time I quickly navigated to Settings and discovered that my AppleID password was missing from Messages.  I entered it there and that stopped the dialog box from popping up.
Later I had to shut down and restart my phone so iTunes would recognize it.  After it booted up the recurring Apple ID dialog box started popping up again.
How can I stop this from happening?

I'm unfortunately in exactly the same situation. Following update to 6.1 on my iPhone 5, I'm prompted every 10 seconds to enter my iTunes password if I re-enable iMessage logged in as my iTunes account rather than phone number.
I have not found a way to make it stop prompting so iMessage is currently not useable by me.  This is quite frustrating, Apple's standards have been on a rapid decline for some time. I'm at the point now where I'm reluctant to install updates when they come out due to the frequent regressions such as this I've encountered.
If anyone has a solution, I'd love to know.

  • Email password won't save after Yahoo hack

Opened my Mail inbox and got the wonderful mass of "MAILER @DAEMON" messages. Translation:I got hacked. I haven't had any problems with this since I changed my Yahoo/ATT password to something more complex. Now I'm being hacked again, went in to my account on my iPhone and found that it had reverted to the former password. Entered the new password, got the check marks, but it won't save--it reverts to the old password. I've tried this multiple times, I've tried rebooting multiple times, deleting the account and restoring it multiple times. Now I'm finding that my iPad has the same problem. So I am totally without mobile email now, and like so many of you this just ain't an option.

I Have a similar problem but 9 different emails have been hacked along with my iPhone. I am now on my 3rd new iPhone as Apple thinks this is the issue (I wish). it has become so bad the police dept have become involved and are bringing in the local FBI office since email hacking is a felony and 9 different accts are involved. I do have a good idea of the suspect (s) sadly not who I expected. Someone said to change my phone number to make sure they did not have it and this would help. Think it would?

  • System Preferences won't save after change

    Hello everyone,
I am running Mac OS 10.5.8 on a Black Macbook. The problem I am having is that none my changes will save in the system preferences. For example. I change the desktop background but the background won't change. The display window in the systems preferences window will show the picture I chose, but the desktop won't.
Another example: if I turn off "spaces" in systems preferences. It will show as off in the system preferences window, but as soon as I close the system preferences window, the changes won't take affect. This seems to happen with any change to settings in the system preferences.
I have recently used both "disk warrior" and Onyx to rebuild my desktop, check my drive and everything else those applications do. But still no change.
One more hint: I deleted an application (TomTom home) from my computer a few months ago, but the old icon shows up in the Dock as a "?" after each restart. I can drag it ot the desktop and delete it, but if I restart it will always show up.
What could be wrong? Should I do a reinstall? I don't have the disks...
    Thanks Mac folks!

Ok, I tried both removing the "com.apple.systempreference.plist" and restarting from both a Disk Warrior disk, and the Mac OS X Install CD 1 and doing a repair of the disk permissions. Neither of the tricks worked.
I no longer have a "com.apple.systempreference.plist" file anywhere on my computer and I still have the same problems.
So what should I do now? I have (obviously) found my original disks. I am thinking I need to do a new install of the system software? What is the process for doing that and not lose my data?
    Thanks again for everybodies help.
    Josh

  • InDesign CC won't save after working on file and saving.

I am really getting tired of resetting the preferences in InDesign CC when it stops SAVING or SAVING AS. This occurs after working and saving on an InDesign file - then all of a sudden it will not save or save as. There is no pattern so I never know when this will happen. I called support and they suggested restarting and resetting the preferences. I have done this multiple times.
This is frustrating. I have to open my file and determine the work that I did but did not save, and do it again. What a waste of time.
I have read several forums with no other suggestions other than trashing the preferences and disabling Sync settings. I have done both of these multiple times.

  • Desktop files etc. won't open after botched software install

    Dear New Best Friends:
    (a) My new mac mini is just up and running since yesterday. I'm not new to Mac but AM new to setting up, installing, etc., and to being the one responsible. (My brother-in-law used to do everything for me, but he moved, the heartless you-know-what.) Anyway, after a few false starts, a "mini" nervous breakdown and one complete reinstall, things were humming. I was so happy with the Mini -- and, I admit it, with myself. But pride goeth before a (downloading) fall...
    (b) Since I successfully installed an old copy of MS Office 2001 (after installing OS 9), I decided I could be trusted to install a old copy of Photoshop 5.0 (used previously on my G3/OS 9.2). The disc icon appeared on the desktop, but nothing happened when I clicked it. So, freaking idiot that I am, I remembered recently reading about the "drag to the hard-drive" Mac method of installation...
    (c) I dragged it, alright, and it disappeared into that cute little hard-drive icon... and, just like that, i-life as I knew it was over. (Remember when Kevin Bacon flips that fateful switch on board Apollo 13? Everything had been going so well...) Now, none of the desktop icons -- the hard-drive, the printer, various Word files and folders -- will open. (They highlight with one click but don't do anything with 2 clicks.) I can't seem to get into them any other way, either, but again, I'm new to OS X, and to being the one in charge. SO, I have no access to MS Office, or to my Word documents or to numerous folders of art and photos.
    (d) I've searched as best I know how through these Discussions for a similar problem but have had no luck. I've never posted to a forum in my life, but I've admired you all from afar. (I figured out what display to buy from reading here.) I hope I am posting this right; I don't really know how this topic/thread stuff works. (Be gentle on me -- and educate me --if I'm in the wrong place.)
And finally, MY QUESTION: Can my downloading error be reversed?
Thanks so much in advance (you deserve much more just for reading this). Peace and love!

It's happened again. Desktop icon freeze.
Add to that frustration the fact that I just described the chain of events in long detail, and when I posted it earlier this morning, I got an Apple Discussions alert that they're, oh, doing some housework or something, and anyway, the posting got lost and only my computer info was transmitted (which was no longer accurate, because I did NOT reinstall Classic OS 9 after performing a complete erase and install Sunday.....)
So let me start over, outliningg this depressing chain of events:
After successful OS X reinstall mentioned in previous post, I:
    --Re-installed AOL, setting aol preferences
--Responded to iTunes prompt to download newest version; downloaded and left icon on desktop for later install
--Did first Apple Software Update check (remember, have only had this Mini a few days); it told me I needed about ten or eleven updates. I selected eight of them, notably OS X. Figured that getting the latest stuff would, you know, eliminate the glitch that caused first meltdown. Ha. (Downloading of the 8 selected updates took --get ready-- eleven hours and 49 minutes; I use AOL dial-up. In those hours, my internet loading was very slow on both aol and safari, but I figured that was because of downloading going on.)
--Opened desktop Hard Drive icon numerous times throughout day to set preferences, look around apps, and read cute little tutorials about how fun it is to use the Mini .
--Created first Text document; placed icon on desktop.
--Twelve-hour download extravaganza finally ended. Expected to have to install stuff, but I gather it does that automatically in these Apple software updates?
--Noticed that even though downloading was complete, internet loading was still slow; hmmmm; figured AOL was having one of its numerous bad days.
--Double-clicked the iTunes installer desktop icon mentioned above, and installed the newest version.
--May have re-calibrated my display afterwards, or may have been just before. (It's a new Dell 1704 FPT, if that makes any difference. Maybe Michael Dell is sabotaging Steve J.)
--Put Mini to sleep; he and I had had a hard couple of days...
--Put myself to sleep; dreamed of Fun Mini Days Just Ahead.
--Woke up this morning like it was Christmas, excited to begin new and improved life with Mini. Woke Mini. Double-clicked Hard Drive icon. NOTHING. Double-clicked Text icon. Nothing. Same problem. Different day. (Only this time, it IS a weekday, per previous posts...)
--Got online, went to Discussions, read AndyO's recommendation about Finder, File, find p.list, trash it, etc. Did so.
--Double-clicked Text document icon. IT OPENED. Wow! Wanted to buy AndyO a NanO.
--Double-clicked Hard Drive icon. NOTHING. Gulp.
--Closed Text document. Double-clicked Hard Drive icon again. Nothing.
--Double-clicked Text icon. This time, Nothing.
    --Re-performed p.list steps. Didn't work this time.....
Please note major differences between this freeze and the last:
    (1) Classic OS 9 wasn't installed this time. (So neither was MS Office 2001, of course, nor any old software.)
    (2) Updated ("improved"!) OS X is running, along with updated QuickTime and other Apple-recommended updates.
    (3) New version of iTunes is installed.
But in spite of these differences, the problem's effect is the same.
One of AndyO's messages (2.1.1.1?) said something to the effect that if I encounter such problems again there are troubleshooting steps I can take to identify the specific cause and resolve it.
Please, dear readers, what are those steps? I am discouraged, and not just a little worried.

  • Documents won't save after migration

I recently bought a MacBook Air. I did a migration of my MacBook Pro to my new Air. Now, when I open documents on the Air from the Macintosh HD icon on my desktop (e.g. word or excel so far in my experience), after I make changes to those documents I can't save them. I get a messge that it's 'read only'. So I change the name and hit save. But then I get an error that I can't save it to the HD, so I save it to the desktop.
Now, I also have multiple copies of the doc that I'm working on saved to my desktop (I guess from saving during the time I work on them), and I'm forbidden from dragging them to the trash.
This of course must have something to do with the migration but I can't figure it out.
    Please help??!

Thank you so much, that fixed it! It seemed so easy but I would never have figured that out

  • Setting won't save after closing firefox

    Hi,
When I open Firefox it search my addons for compatibility with the version of my firefox, after then it open up with all my closed tabs and a notification about updating one of my addon.
I tried to change my setting so it won't open all closed tabs when starting but whenever I close firefox it reset my settings and the next time start the same way.
I tried also to reinstall firefox but it did nothing.
    How do I fix it?
    Asaf.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry or with the compatibility.ini file.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete possible addons.json and addons.sqlite files.
You can also check for problems with preferences.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

  • Pics won't save after editing

I do some editing and then cannot close or save as, PSE 10 just does nothing?  I have to do a Control Alt Delete to even close the program out as well. Help

    Hi,
Did you solve your save problem? I am having the exact problem suddenly. Never happened before and now can't solve it. Did a repair permissions after upgrade to iphoto 06; but can't save anything to desktop after bringing any photo from iphoto to photoshop. The same error is coming up
"Could not complete your request because of a program error"
Folks at Photoshop said it is definately an iphoto permissions problem, not photoshop.
If you figured it out, I'd sure appreciate your solution.

  • Rules won't save after quit.

I recently did an an archive and install of leopard and ever since, I've been experiencing some strange permissions issues.
The latest is that none of the rules I create in mail are saved after I quit and relaunch. All other preferences, however, are saved without a problem. I've run fix permissions from disk utilities several times but it still hasn't resolved the issue.
Does anybody know where the rules file is located on the HD?
    Thanks.

repairing permissions will not help with this because your rules are stored in your home directory and repair permissions doesn't touch it. quit mail and go to the directory homedirectory/library/mail. delete the files MessageRules.plist and
MessageRules.plist.backup. start Mail. your rules list will be empty. see if they save normally now.

  • HP Scanjet G3010 won't save after OS X 10.9 update

I just installed Mavericks- now the scanner (HP ScanJet G3010)  will scan, but not save files.  Help!

Hello Swervrva, Thanks for the post.  With this one, you may have to use an alternate form of scanning until a a solution is available. See below, Good Luck!
Re: HP scan incompatible with Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks)?[ Edited ] .Options Mark as NewBookmarkSubscribeSubscribe to RSS FeedHighlightPrintReport Inappropriate Content....10-27-2013 05:02 PM - edited 10-27-2013 05:03 PM Hi Everyone, There have been numerous reports of an HP Scan incompatibility on Mavericks. Please be assured that we are looking into this issue and hope to have a resolution soon. At this time here is what we've observed: * On many Macs (not all), images scanned in Black & White or Grayscale will not save properly. The preview looks fine, but the output will be cropped and distorted. * This issue is new for Mavericks. Previous OS versions are not impacted. Here are some known workarounds that may help you until this is properly resolved: * Use Image Capture to scan. Image Capture can be found in the Applications folder. This scanning application does not appear to be affected by the file saving issues. * Use the HP Scan Print dialog to save the output to PDF using one of the PDF workflow options. * Use the "General Purpose" scanning preset. This preset scans in color and so output is not affected. * Change the settings for the "Documents with Text" preset to scan in full color. You can also create a new preset based on the "Documents with Text" set for color if you plan to use these settings regularly. Note that if you are not planning to process the documents for text extraction (OCR) then you can lower the scan resolution to 200 ppi to keep the file sizes more manageable since color scans can be much larger than grayscale or black & white. I will try to provide more details as they emerge. Thanks for everyone who has shared observations about their experience and configuration as this continues to be very helpful in tracking down root cause for this issue.

  • SMS setting won't save after update

After updating my N80, i tried to send a text message, and was greeted by a message saying i needed to entewr the message centre number. I had a look around and manage to track down the official three network message centre number, and the message went through fine
however, i am prompted with the same problem everytime i try to send a message. Going to settings/message centre brings up the following notice 'text message service disabled. No message centre numbers saved on sim card'
By not allowing me to enter into the message centre number menu, i cannot therefore add another, so i'm stuck.
Tried all the usual things, taking the sim out and re inserting it,updating the firmware again, but to no avail.
customer services dont have a clue
    any ideas?
    thanks

Backup all your personal stuff onto memory card (faster than pc suite).
Reset device by entering *#7370# then code (default 12345).
If that works, you can then get other settings from the Setting Wizard at http://europe.nokia.com/A4164073?model=N80

  • 300,000pg PDF won't save after combining is finished

    Hello-
I'm attempting to create a 1.6GB PDF that continually errors when saving. The error states that i've run out of memory but i'm using a machine with 8GB of RAM and 30-70GB of virtual memory (another post said this may help). We have successfully created other files nearing 1.4GB at 250K pages with success.
    Any ideas?

I don't have the answer on the size change. So say there is no size limit, but the effects I and others have seen suggest there is a limit. I don't have a good answer for you, sorry. Maybe others will be by with some ideas.

  • Firefox won't save images or web pages, even after upgrading, reinstalling and resetting... How do I fix this?

A couple upgrades ago, I noticed that Firefox wouldn't boot properly. According to "Task Mgr.", it would load partially with a "*32" after it's name in the listing, but not enough to display a window on screen. After ending the process, and restarting the program again it would usually boot fully. (not always, but usually) The "*32" confuses me as I run a 64bit Windows 7 system and during installation I was sure that I saw mention of a 64bit program being installed. Apparently, after the last upgrade, that issue was resolved; but Task Mgr. still lists the program with a "*32" after it.
The issue now at hand is that Firefox won't save images online or save web pages. I'll right-click and select "save image as" or "save page as" and... nothing. No box appears prompting me to name a file or designate a location to save that file to. Nor does anything happen when I use the "File" menu for the same function either. This is, to say the least, is very frustrating. There may be other things not functioning that I'm not currently aware of, but I haven't been able to or had time to do a complete check of the functionality of the program. I've never had issues of any significance with Firefox in the past. It's always been very reliable for me, so I'm hoping there's a relatively quick fix that I simply haven't been made aware of yet...
Thank you for your suggestions and time looking into this matter...
    Curtis Laipple

It probably will take a little time to work through this troubleshooting article, but hopefully you will get a complete solution: [[What to do if you can't download or save files]].
Regarding the *32, I see the same thing on Win 7 Pro x64. No worries. Firefox for Windows is compiled only as a 32-bit application.

  • After AW 6.0 update to 6.2.9 won't Save files

After updating Apple Works 6.0 to 6.2.9, the updated program will not allow me to save any files. After choosing my Macintosh HD as the "save to" location, I am unable to Save. Instead, a small wndow appears stating "Cannot find volume." I had previously been running AW 6.2.9 for a long time, but had to reformat my HD recently and re-loaded AW 6.0, then tried my 6.2.9 update when this problem surfaced. I tried UNINSTALLING these and re-installing several times, but I always have the same problem now. I also have to force quit AW most of the time. However, the OS9 version runs fine and saves fine, no problems with it. Help!!

Thanks Peggy for your prompt suggestions. I went ahead and used Disk Warrier to rebuild my HD. I also used Disk Utility to repair Permissions. I also trashed preferences from AW for both systems 9 and 10. Same problems! I re-installed AW from the beginning. Same problems! I also find I cannot open any of my AW files directely- a dialog says "file is locked or in use" and "open a copy." When I open a copy, it still won't Save! I went to Get Info- all my AW files have "read only" and the owner is "unknown." I clicked the locked padlock on unknown, unlocked it, reset it to my normal owner name for the computer, changed the file to "read and write" and clicked "open all files with this application" also. It will the open that one file without asking me to open a copy. But still won't Save. And all my other AW files are still set to "unknown" and are still padlocked in the "read only" mode. What the heck do you think happened here? This was after I had the Apple Store help me to reformat a copy of my HD because it had frozen one day and couldn't be retrieved with Disk Utility or Disk Warrier. They couldn't tell me why this had happened. All of my other applications are just fine. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Mark Schubert, Phoenix, AZ
