Ppoix table for ecc 6.0 upgrade

We r doing SAP upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0(HR Payroll project). working on the integration part, i would like to know how do i take the table PPOIX (desc - Index of Payroll Result Lines -> Posting lines) to ecc 6.0 can i archive it? i believe the table has all amounts against particular wage type and is therefore sensitive. Ppls comment on its transfer to production and ecc 6.0 and also on the archiving of the same.

Hello Rashmi,
I am not sure about the upgrade instructions for table PPOIX, but the SAP Data Management Guide offers suggestions on data prevention, deletion of simulation runs and archiving it via archive object PA_PIDX. The index files (PPOIX) can only be archived after the payroll results have been archived (with archive object PA_CALC). Payroll results have a mandatory 2 year residence time in the US - longer residence times for some other countries.

Hardware requariment for ECC 6.0 upgrade from ECC 5.0

I am on ECC 5.0 with oracle 9.2.0.7.I need to upgrade this to ECC 6.0.
I have already implemented MM,PP,FICO,QM and HCM.My current data base size is 900GB.This has 30GB monthly growth.
With this ECC 6.0 upgrade i am planing to implement PM,EP.
I know converting none Unicode system to unicode system is required some more hardware resources than the none Unicode.
Some document says 40-60% more disk space and 35% more processing speed from current system.
Can any one give me the correct information about the hardware requirement for ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 upgrade.

Is it a must to use Solution Manager for ECC 6.0 (FICO & HR) upgrade? I am told Solution Manager is required only if it has ABAP and JAVA stacks, or involves Enhancement Packages; and could be optional if it is only ECC 6.0 with ABAP stacks.

I'm having a difficult time finding some guidance for setting up our R/3 Enterprise system in solman properly, so that I can create the upgrade XML file required to go directly to ERP 6.0 EHP4.
I've set up the R/3 system fine, but when i create a maintenance transaction i cannot for the life of me figure out how to tell it I want to go from r/3 to ERP6 ehp4.
Any docs out there for this?

I figured it out... i had to add the R/3 Enterprise logical components to my system landscape. After that I was able to select R/3 as the initial data in the maintenance transaction and then the system i wanted to upgrade, and then the option to upgrade.

Hi Senthil,
of course it is always recommended to use the newest Support Package Stack,
but if your system (your business processes) are working fine, I would recommend you to
import support package only then when you have an error or you want to have a special fiunctionality.
Some customers play support packages into the system only twice a year, because the business processes
should be tested after the sp import.

Is Solution Manager required for ECC 6.0 upgrade?

We will upgrade our system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. Is Solution Manager a required tool in ECC 6.0? My understanding is Solution Manager has to be run on a different server, ie. we will have to buy a new server. We have a small SAP implementation with only FI & CO modules, so we are trying to cut our costs if we could. Can anybody share their experience? Thanks for any input.

In an Upgrade , Solution Manager is required for Upgrade Keys and downloading the support packs . Now a days to download the support packs you have to approve it in Solution Manager otherwise it won't show up in your download basket.
May be SAP can provide you the keys & approve the SPs ( they used to do that before ) , in that case it isn't required.
You can also manage your upgrade project in Solman . Sooner or later you need to install solution manager. it's a nice system.Many good features like central monitoring, early watch alert etc etc ...

ECC 6.0 Upgrade - FI Posting (Payroll)

Hi,
We have gone for ECC 6.0 upgrade and face problem with FI Postings(Posting not cleared). We found out that in the new version there is a new node that got added up where we need to add all US taxes(Payroll US -> Posting to Financial Accounting ->Define WT posting attributes).
How can i find which all wage types are US tax related. I know there is one processing class 72, which define Employer / employee tax, but is there any other way i can find out.

I am talking about GB payroll, so we have to defnitely maintain the tax wagetypes in the new table V_T7US3PRTXSYMKO. Apart from that do we need to do any other settings in FI. Because it is showing the Profit center not filled.

Missing table variants in SE16N after upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0

After Upgrade to ECC 6.0 ,certain variants for standard tables like MARA,MARC,EINE,EINA etc....in SE16N are missing.Can anyone help me to restore the variants.

If you didn't save them they are gone - you can't restore them if you didn't run the report before (from where do you want to restore?)
On top of that, if you have tables, that changed during the upgrade, the variants won't work any more.
I suggest you write a report or use queries to get your data instead of using SE16N.

that if you pay the maintenace fee regularly you can always get the
newest software releadse and the support packages and kernel for it.

Equivalent table for A920 & A928 in 3.1 i version to ECC 6.0

Hi Friends,
I am working in an upgrade project from 3.1 i to ECC 6.0
I have a report to be migrated from old version to ECC 6.0
I have 2 tables - A920 & A928 which are no longer available in ECC 6.0
A920 is a condition table - Customer / Price list / Currency / Material
A928 is price list currency table
Please let me know the equivalent tables to be used in ECC 6.0

Whenever you generate condition table with the same table number with prefix A you can see that in SE16,but as you are asking this tables in ECC 6.0,so check 920&928 tables or exist in the system as condition table(V/06)....

Best upgrade path for ECC 6.0

Hello,
We've been stuck on the base ECC 6.0 release for quite a while. There hasn't been management support for the time/resources necessary to implement and test any upgrades. We also have a lot of local modifications to SAP supplied programs that we're planning on phasing out so that we keep closer to standard. This is one of the main reasons we haven't been able to upgrade because of the effort involved in changing processes back to standard. There was also an unwillingness on specific parts of the user base to change their processes. We're now in a position where business and reporting requirements are going to force a system upgrade. We also need run a unicode conversion from non-unicode at the same time.
As we're starting the planning process we're unsure of the best path to allow us to implement future upgrades as necessary. I see that EHP 7 runs on a basis version of Netweaver 7.40. Is upgrading to an EHP pack for ECC 6 better than upgrading directly to 7.4? Can the unicode conversion be done at the same time?
I looked over previous discussions in upgrades but haven't found something that seems to match what we're looking to do.

As you have an ECC 6.0 system then you need to do an EHP update on the system.
The latest is EHP7. EHP 7 is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.4 so when you update the system to EHP 7 you will be on NetWeaver 7.4
The most important thing here is that you need to have a supported OS and DB for EHP7 installation. From EHP6 there is a need to have a higher version of OS and DB.
Check PAM for the supported OS and DB combination.

Mapping table for contact person download from ECC and Groupware

There are 3 connected system in our landscape:
- CRM
- Groupware (connected to CRM)
- ECC
We have a requirement that the Contact Person can be created in any of the above 3 system and should flow to the other. So, the below scenarios are valid in our case:
1. Contact created in Groupware, flows to CRM ->ECC
2. Contact created in ECC flows to CRM-> Groupware
3. Contact created in CRM flows to Groupware and ECC
Our flow system works fine and the contacts created in one system, flows to the other 3 and any changes also flow.
The problem is that for the contacts created in ECC, the communication data (phone, email etc) flow in CRM and get updated in the "Work Address" section in the Contact display screen in Web UI and the updates from Groupware for communication data gets updated in "Main Address" section.
Can anyone please advise what are the mapping tables for the address update when the contact is created in :
- Groupware/CRM
- ECC

Thanks for the response.
I checked for the notes you suggested, but having read it it doesnt appear to address my problem. Did you get this from SAP as fix to solve' specify the name of contact person' error in SMW01 ? Unfortunately even SAP isnt replying to me on this.
I am also not getting any dump, all my queues are getting cleared in ECC and CRM. My error remains 'specify the name of contact person'. Interestingly when i tried to push the contact person directly as bupa_main..it too failed with the same error..more interestingly whenver my contact person tried to get replicated as bupa_rel..ecc does eat up a number assignment..but no record is created for it in ecc...the smw01 says partiaslly send ..receivers has error..
