  • How to change trace file location in Oracle Fusion Middleware

    Hi all,
I would like to know how to change the location of the trace file in Oracle Fusion Middleware - Report Server 11g ?
I notice there is logging.xml file in $ORACLE_HOME/config/ReportServerComponenent/logging.xml. In the xml file, it did specify the location of the diagnostic file and other log files.
Is it the correct way to reconfigure the location of the log file? I havent try it though. :D
    Thanks.

    Hi Fleix,
For additional instructions for Release 11i, see Note.167635.1 and Note.150168.1.
For additional instructions for Release 11.0.3 and 10.7, see Note.148982.1 and Note.135715.1.
    a. Append the following to the end of the URL used to login to the Oracle Applications:
    ?play=&record=collect&log=/tmp/oracle.FRD.log
** Note: The self service login URL will not work for creating FRD trace files. You may need to talk to your technical team to get the URL that accesses the forms server directly.
    b. If the URL to logon to 11i applications is:
    http://machine:9603/dev60cgi/f60cgi
Then the following label needs to be included:
    ?play=&record=collect&log=/tmp/'file_name'.frd
For example to create frd for above url log in to application as
    http://machine:9603/dev60cgi/f60cgi?play=&record=collect&log=/tmp/4764802.992.frd
    c. Now log into the application and go directly to the form with the problem and perform the actions which generate the error.
Once the error has been generated and cleared, immediately log out of the application so no additional diagnostics are captured.
    d. The diagnostics will be written to the file specifed after "log=". In the example, this would be /tmp/4764802.992.frd
    e. After reproducing the issue, log on the server side of the instance and go to the directory to /tmp (cd tmp)
    f. Retrieve the frd file: /tmp/4764802.992.frd
This file contains all the details about built-in programs, triggers, procedures in a FORM

  • Programmically change trace database URL NI HyperTrend

    Hello,
I would like to be able to programmically update/change the URL for the traces in the activegroup of my NI HyperTrend while the program is running. The reason I want to accomplish this is because the program automatically create a new database then updates the library properties to point to the new database. The NI HyperTrend no longer will plot the current data since the data is no longer logged there. So I need to change the database URL of ITrace2 properties to the new database.
Attached is a bmp file which shows the block diagram of what I think should be how this is done. I get an -2147417851 error of which I don't understand. Please Advise, thank you.

  • Changing trace file name giving odd results - 10.2.0.2

    Hello,
I'm trying to run a trace on a particular session. Using this:
    execute dbms_monitor.session_trace_enable(122, 58)
It creates a tracefile in udump just fine. I turn tracing off:
    execute dbms_monitor.session_trace_disable(122, 58)
Then the trace usually catches the next sql statement after I issued the disable and I've got a complete trace file.
    If I use the statement:
    alter session set tracefile_identifier = 'TEST';
With or without quotes, what ends up happening is the tracefile is created with TEST tacked onto the end but what's inside the file is the full path to the file itself, no trace. The previous trace file before setting the identifier then gets all the trace output. This is on Red Hat. After this the only way to get tracing to work again is to close both sessions and start over.
Am I forgetting to set another parameter when doing this? The litteral set of steps is:
    -open session 1
    -open session 2
    -session 1 run alter session set tracefile_identifier = 'TEST';
    -session 1 run execute dbms_monitor.session_trace_enable(122, 58)
    -session 2 run some sql
    -session 1 run execute dbms_monitor.session_trace_disable(122, 58)
-session 2 run another sql statement
-check the udump for the trace file
Now the ultimate goal here is to be able to tag a trace with a name so I can trace a specific session (made by an application) and then find it later in udump. If the tracefile_id needs to be set in the offending session...well then I need another solution.
    Thanks

Once the session starts writing to the trace file it
is going to write to the same file until the session
    is closed.
Until the session is closed...aaahhhh gotcha. Well that explains that.
I tried the above with a new session and immediately set the identifier and got the same result, except it created the default trace file name as well as the new identifier copy with the path in it.
The logon trigger might be a workaround but it's not killing me at the moment.

  • Zen V Plus - popping / crackling when you pause or change trac

Hi, I just bought a new Zen V Plus, and every time I go the next track or hit pause, I hear a faint crackle or pop sound. I just want someone to verify for me whether this is standard for the creative or not. Very disappointed here.
For the record, I already tried upgrading the firmware and that didn't help.

Since your post I have tried repeatedly pausing & un-pausing a track. And yes, some times there is a slight clicking a short time after pausing.
It seems to be programme dependant. In a near silent section of recording, it does not seem to happen.
Anyway, since I don't generally sit there pausing & un-pausing all day, it doesn't bother me - I'd never noticed it in normal use.
    EDIT:
Maybe it's related to the inherent delay in the MP3/WMA decoding process. Perhaps that would explain the slight delay and the programme dependence.Message Edited by daytona955 on 06-9-20070:2 AM

  • How do you change trace timeout value

I am working on a system using SOAP, everytime I got to the variables window to get a value, just about the time I find it, the system times out and elimiates all the values of the variables? How do I set this up about another 30 seconds just while I am developing?
    Thanks
    Dan Pride

try the requestTimeout property of the service
Provides access to the request timeout in seconds for sent messages. A value
less than or equal to zero prevents request timeout.

  • How to restrict user to change "Client" in sp01

    Hi,
I have a requirement that must release my users to use sp01, but I want to restrict them to see only the spools in the logon client.  Recently, they can change the "client" field in t-code sp01, is there anything I can do to disable "client" field from specific users ?
    Diana

You can restrict through the object S_ADMI_FCD below mention activity
SP01     Use of SP01 (all users)
SP0R     Spool request management (all users)
    SPAA     Spool administration (device administration)
    SPAB     Spool administration (general settings)
SPAC     Spool administration (device type, character sets)
    SPAD     Spool administration (all clients)
SPAM     Spool administration (cross-client job authorization)
    SPAR     Client-specific spool administration
SPOS     Use of Transaction SP01 (all systems)
    SPTD     TemSe administration (all clients)
    SPTR     Client-specific TemSe administration
    ST0M     Change trace switches
And you can restrict device also through the below mention object
    SPODEVICE
    S_SPO_ACT
    S_SPO_PAGE
Provide the sp01 authorization as per your requirement

  • Change Password Option not working in EP 7.0

    Hi,
We have done the configurations for changing the password through get support option in the login page. It is working fine in development and quality. In production system, it is allowing us to change the password and sending the mail also. But when we try to login with new password, we got a error like Authentication Failed.
We are in EP 7.0 SP16, UME datasource is ABAP. Proper authorizations are given to the communication user SAPJSF.
Please help us to solve the problem.
    Thanks.

Since it is working in DEV and QAS, but not in PRD, the issue should be in the difference between these systems.
I suggest you to look at the default trace on EP and find out exactly what is the problem.
You may also need to change trace level to get more detailed info.
If you need info on how to do it, start from here:

  • Trace/Debug not working

I am not seeing traces in the xsengine trace log; nor am I able to effectively set breakpoints in the Web Editor and stop page processing. I'll start by defining roles and configuration, describing actions that aren't working, and then finish with 2 questions.
    ROLES AND CONFIGURATION
According to the developer guide, the following configuration and roles need to be in place for tracing and debugging to work. This is our current role state:
    User assigned Debugger role
To change Trace level, user assigned TraceAdmin role
User assigned TraceViewer role, child role of Developer
To view tracing, confirm the following configuration. This is our current config state.:
In the xsengine.ini file, the debugger > enabled node is set to true
In the xsengine.ini file, the httpserver > developer_mode node is set to true
    ACTIONS
To start tracing, set the Trace level for your package, e.g., debug. Include a trace call in the code, e.g., $.trace.debug("testing debug trace"). In the Web Editor, run the xsjs file, and in the resulting browser window, click the Call Backend button. Here is where my issues begin: there is no Call Backend button, in any browser version.
To start debugging, set breakpoints in the Web Editor by clicking the line number. A breakpoint is indicated by a red arrow on the line number. Then run the page. The page should stop processing at that point. (You can also set breakpoints in Hana Studio by running in Debug perspective, and setting a debug configuration. I tried this also, but was unable to create a desired configuration for port 443; this is a separate issue, outside the scope of this discussion.)
    QUESTIONS
What am I missing in setting up tracing?
What am I missing in setting up debugging?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
    Bill

    Krishna,
Thank you for your response. Running breakpoints in the Hana Studio debug perspective has its own set of challenges for us. The web server is using ssl, and thus is set to port 443, rather than port 80(server instance number). I have not been able to successfully create a configuration for running xsjs scripts through Hana Studio. But I'll keep trying.

  • ST01 Trace Problem

I'm doing authorizations testing in ST01 using a dummy id. I was very specific as to which user I should only be testing so I goto Edit->Filter->Shared and enter my dummy id. Then I goto Edit->File->New File and enter a different trace file number for my testing purposes. After I started my trace, I checked my trace file but it's missing. I restarted tracing again and same thing is happening. My tracefile is missing. So I decided to use whatever tracefiles were available and redid my trace. It seems that my trace was not recorded. The existing trace file still had the same timestamp to it and no new entries were added to it.
    I'm using 4.6C. Please help.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi JBL,
Okay here's what I followed as per your instructions :
    1) Execute ST01
    2) Edit -> Filter -> Shared -> Input user as <SomeUserName>
    3) Edit -> File -> New file -> Select something from the searh help (e.g. Trace S )
    4) Now perform some activity on the system
    5) In ST01 -> Trace OFF
    6) No such file called TraceS... generated.
The above does not work, but the following will work :
After point 3) above, do the following :
Check the box of the option you want to be traced under Trace components
    e.g. Authorization check
    Then click on 'Change Trace'
Now perform some activity on r/3 and then turn the trace off. You will see the new file created and also the activity in the same.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sneh

  • Capping dev_ms trace file size

hi - i'm wondering if anyone knows a way to help.  we have been asked by SAP to run our msg server at an elevated trace level (trace level 3 - we set it from SMMS).  this writes out a huge amt of data to the dev_ms trace file.
the default trace file (dev*) size, per the rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING param default is "on, 10m" (i.e. 10mb).
that applies to "all" the dev* trace files obviously.
w/ our elevated dev_ms trace set, it's overwrapping in ~3 min ...so between dev_ms.old and dev_ms, we never have more than ~10 min of logs kept at any one time.
the pt of us running at this elevated dev_ms trace level is so we can capture (save off) the trace file and send to SAP the next time our msg server crashes.
our SAP file system mountpoint /usr/sap/<SID> is limited in size...and by setting rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING value to a higher value it affects all the dev* files, not just the 1 file i really care about increasing the capped file size on (dev_ms).
**QUESTION*:  does any one know a way i could keep dev_ms capped at a large value like 100mb yet keep all the other dev files at the normal 10mb default?  thanks in advance

    1.  Increase rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING to 100MB.
    2.  Set (SM51) > Select All Processes > Menu > Process > Trace > Active Components > Uncheck everything and set trace level to 1.
    3.  Menu > Process > Trace > Dispatcher > Change Trace Level > Set to 2
Wouldn't this essentially just increase dev_ms to 100MB while leaving other dev* trace files to not log anything?
