PPRO 7.2.2 UPDATE: Missing GPU acceleration and project must be converted?

I just installed PPRO 7.2.2, and getting two errors when opening my project to continue to work on it:
The graphics card is a NVIDIA GTX660, which worked fine until the update of 7.2.2.
The second error I get is:
I was working in this project, and in between installed the last CC update, which I do about every 3 months. I especially do not update more often, because many times after major updates I get unpleasant surprises with malfunctioning programs, drivers, wacom tablets, operating systems etcetera. So now this came up. And I think I will even go back to updating only once every 6 months or maybe even once a year, because there always seems to be some issue after a major upgrade of the CC apps. By the way I love the Adobe CC apps, just not want to loose time after each update repairing my computers!
So anyone has some advice what to do here, or maybe I will just roll back to my previous windows backup and uninstall this latest CC upgrade I think?
Thank you, Sebastiaan FP

Ann,
Yes I read and thank you for responding again. Sorry for my strong words. I really love Adobe CC, its beautiful and great, but since I am new in this field there is an ocean of things to learn, and sometimes get carried away in my emotional reactions with hardware errors like these. So I just rolled back in windows to the previous backup before the upgrade to 8.0.0 and everything is rolling again. After half a year or so I will try to upgrade again. The 7.2.2 CC version is already magic enough for me now and more than I can swallow!

I have a question~Have functional difference with GPU acceleration and software processing of Mercury Playback Engine?
(Can GPU acceleration export same used 59.94i external monitor export?).
IN specification,Is it need“software processing”? whether other restrictions?
If Anyone know please tell me.
    thank you.

Thank you for your help, and sorry about didn't make it clear.
Use Decklink SDI and Premiere CS6 to test.
In GPU mode of Mercury Engine, the signal form SDI is 1080i, but  even fields will be missing.
    Take a simple test:
Make quick slide for reproduce animationin in quadrangle(1080i 29.97),  but it can't paly smooth and same gone to 30P.
If in Software mode, the action can be smooth.
Although use Software mode can be ok,but if GPU does not realize,it will take long time to render.

  • Missing GPU Acceleration With NVIDIA Quadro 4000

    Hi -
I have a PC running Windows 7 with an NVIDIA Quadro 4000 card and 16GB of RAM. I have both Premiere Pro CS6 v6.0.5 and Premiere Pro CC v7.2.2 (just installed).
When I create a new project in CC, my only option under Video Rendering and Playback is Mercury Playback Engine Software Only. However, when I open a project in CS6, I get that option and also Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accelerated (CUDA).
Any thoughts on why the GPU option would not be available to me in CC?
    Ed

    Hi Mesmer3001,
I will suggest you to do a clean uninstall of all NVidia drivers and then re-install the latest one from the NVidia website. So, please follow the steps mentioned below.
Go to Device manager, right click on the graphivs card and select update driver software.
Select Browse my computer for driver software option.
Then on next screen choose Let me pick from a list option
Choose standard VGA graphics adapter which will choose VGA mode for your machine.
Then go to Control Panel and uninstall all the NVidia drivers. Restart the machine once it is done. Then go to the below link and re-install the Drivers again.
Hope it helps and please update if you need further assistance.

  • Why do I no longer have Open CL GPU Acceleration, and have Mercury Playback Engine Software Only greyed out instead?

It seems I've lost all gpu acceleration options, and i am unsure why. I am on a mac pro late 2013,  AMD fire pro d700 cards. The system was working fine for many months, then last week for the first time, i got the message that says the project was last used with gpu acceleration, but the present system will support MPE Software only because open cl is not available on this system.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ask in the Premiere Pro forum.

  • Please speed up Lightroom using OpenCL/GPU acceleration and/or AVX support!

    Hello,
for those, who don't look at the feature request site:
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/please_speed_up_lightroom_using_open cl_gup_acceleration_and_or_avx_support
    Hello,
I enjoy using LR. But there is still one thing that lacks: Performance, especially in the Develop Module and Zooming...
So please speed up LR using:
    - OpenCL/GPU acceleration. Capture One pro 6 is doing this. If they can do this, Adobe can also!
    - AVX support: Nik Software is using this. Processes got 1,5 to 2,6 times faster than before. So again... if Nik Software is capable of implementing this, Adobe should be able as well!
So, I am no expert, but from what I have read I think it is possible for Adobe.
Would appreciate to hear from other people who have more inside knowledge if this is possible for LR!
    Thanks, Adobe for hearing us.
    Christoph

    Hello Keith,
    thanks for the info!
It well might be that OpenCL causes some problems. On the other side sometimes I don't know how good a forum is to measure the problems.
Remember when a new LR Release comes out and the forum is flooded mit posts about the problems? If you just read alle the posts in the LR forum you could come to the conclusion that the new LR is completely unuseable. But in reality I never had a problem upgrading to the new LR version...
I understand your point and it might really by to early to implement this technology in LR.
But I still hope for the other direction: AVX .
I just think that we have the hardware possibilities to improve speed and LR should take advantage of this.
    Kind regards,
    Christoph

  • Issues with Mercury Engine GPU acceleration and stills

Hi folks, recently made the switch to CS6 Creative Cloud and for the most part I am loving Premiere Pro CS6 except I am having one major issue. I've got a early 2011 Macbook Pro with the 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6750M video card and 16GB of RAM and I am using Lion 10.7.4. Mercury Engine GPU mode works great on this machine (fast timeline renders, accelerated effects, quick exports) except whenever I try to use a still image on the timeline. It doesn't matter if it's a JPG, TIFF, PSD, or anything else. It also doens't matter what the size of the image is either. As soon as I drop a still on the timeline the responsiveness of the entire program starts to grind to a halt. Parts of the timeline that were playing back soomthly (in GPU or software mode) now can barely play at 10-15 fps.
I don't have this issue in Software Mercury Playback mode (I just loose all the benefits of the GPU acceleration).
If I switch back to Software Mode, delete the previews and restart Premiere things go back to working well in software mode.
I'm working on projects with Canon DSLR footage (1080P 30fps) and I am working off of a fast RAID 0 hard drive set-up.
If anyone has any advice on how I can actually use the amazing GPU mode I would be most grateful.
    thanks
    Daniel

  • "Missing" EPS Nodes and Projects in P5

One of my users has managed to "delete" a high level EPS
node so currently we have lost a number of EPS nodes and
projects. However if we try and recreate the "missing"
objects the system tells us the EPD node ID or Project ID
must be unique. There must be some setting somewhere that
is stopping the system from displaying these
nodes/projects - if the cannot be recovered then I think
the next best option is to persuade the system that the
IDs are not in use so that we can rename the projects
recovered from backup (project IDs are important as they
    link to other systems)

Ok, here's the query to list out your EPS nodes (this
was written with P6 but should be the same in
    P5):
    <br
                              />SELECT
                              PROJWBS.wbs_id <br
                              />          ,PROJWBS.wbs_short_name
                              <br
                              />          ,PROJWBS.wbs_name,
                              PROJWBS.obs_id<br
                              />          ,PROJWBS.parent_wbs_id<br
                              />          ,PROJECT.proj_id<br
                              />FROM PROJECT INNER JOIN PROJWBS<br />ON
                              PROJECT.proj_id = PROJWBS.proj_id<br />WHERE
                              PROJECT.project_flag ='N'<br />AND
                              PROJWBS.proj_node_flag = 'Y'<br />ORDER BY
                              PROJWBS.wbs_name<br /><br
/>Note that I have listed the parent wbs id which
is important if some of your "missing" nodes are
parents of nodes which aren't missing, or vice versa.
Also, you will want to check the OBSPROJ table to make
sure the wbs_id's you found above aren't linked with
    any OBS/PROJECT combinations.
    <br
/>DISCLAIMER STUFF I have no idea what the
consequences are of changing or deleting values from
these tables, so I can't really recommend a course of
action, but maybe this'll get you started. Changing
anything outside the business logic of the SDK/API or
the actual software is tricky business. I'd run
anything you plan to try past Primavera first. Then
I'd test very thoroughly in a development environment
before applying to live data, which I would back up
immediately before pulling the trigger. <br
    />
    Hope this helps!

  • Missing GPU Acceleration

    Hey guys,
I can't get PremPro CS6 to see my AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB card. I have a new Mac pro running Nvidia CUDA Driver Version: 6.0.46  I've installed CS6 and its all working great apart from the fact it won't recognise my graphics card. Its running the latest Nvidia cuda and its the latest top end mac pro so I can't understand why it won't see it for me.
Such a waste of a powerful graphics card. Hope you guys can help me out

Some things you'll need to keep in mind with your new Mac Pro:
    1.  You don't need (nor want, really) the nVidia CUDA panel installed.  Your AMD GPUs aren't CUDA capable and never will be.  So it's best if you go through the uninstall process for CUDA.  AMD GPUs use OpenCL for GPGPU processing, not CUDA.
    2.  Pr CS6 was never tested with the AMD Dxxxx series of GPUs, and given that CS6 is no longer being developed: it won't be.  However, you can still use one of your GPUs with CS6 by deleting the opencl_supported_cards.txt file from the Pr install directory.  You won't be able to use both GPUs because CS6 isn't dual-GPU capable.
    3.  Upgrade to the CC version of Pr.  It'll better support both GPUs in your new machine.

  • CS4 GPU Acceleration and Intel X3100

    Hello everyone,
I currently own a laptop which I use heavily for image editing. It is powered by a very fast Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz and a power-efficient yet perfectly capable Intel X3100 integrated graphics chip.
My chip supports all of the necessary Shader versions, OpenGL 2.0, etc. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#GMA_X3100 ). However, when I visit the Preferences menu to enable the OpenGL acceleration, I am presented with a grayed-out option telling me I may need to upgrade my drivers or graphics card.
I have tried new driver versions. Certainly I should not have to purchase another card (impossible in a laptop in fact) seeing as my chip supports all of the requisite features.
    Help? Thanks!
    Steve

    Hi Anne,
Let me clarify. I am not aware of any current compatibility issues with Flash (author or player).
The current Intel graphics drivers do not have the OpenGL features that Photoshop looks for to enable OpenGL acceleration. Intel is in the process of developing and testing an updated driver that will support this, hopefully to be released in early 2009.
    However,
b Photoshop CS4 does currently run reliably
on systems with Intel graphics - it's just that the new OpenGL-accelerated features in CS4 are not available.
I have used an Intel GM45 system with a pre-production driver to test the new Photoshop CS4 OpenGL features like smooth-zoom, birds-eye view, and canvas rotate, and they perform smoothly. The OpenGL performance is noticably slower on older GM965 systems, but it is still almost-smooth and better than not having OpenGL enabled at all. (Note that OpenGL 2.0 will
    i not
be supported on GM945 and earlier chipsets.)
It seems you are aware that the choice of a new notebook system does not only depend on the graphics chip's capabilities, but rather how the performance of the whole system suits your needs. For example, I use Premiere Pro to edit HDV and AVCHD video, and this depends much more on the performance of the CPU than on the graphics, so I would want a system with the best CPU, perhaps even at the cost of some graphics performance.
From what I have seen of Photoshop's new OpenGL features, the GM45 chipset is quite capable of giving most users a nice, smooth experience, and even the GM965 is "ok", with just a little jerkiness. An exception may be users that bring fancy, large 3D models into Photoshop - this should work, but I don't have that type of file to test the performance (anybody want to share some?).
To summarize, the Intel graphics systems will work with Photoshop CS4 now, just without OpenGL features. If these OpenGL features are important to you, and you can wait until Feb-March for the new driver (sorry, still no firm promise on the exact date), then I would still recommend an Intel integrated graphics system with a GM965, GM35, or GM45 chipset (GM45 having the best performance).

  • GPU Acceleration and Flash 10.1

    Hello,
I have just recently upgraded to Flash 10.1 release 10.1.53.64. The main problem I am experiencing at the moment is extremely high CPU usage while playing 720p videos with flash. It seems that Flash is not utilizing my GPU as, when the same video is played through WMP plugin for Firefox, CPU utilization is only 50%-60% instead of the 87%+. Nvidia claims that my graphics card should be supported by Flash yet I am experiencing framerates of only 9-10.
    My System Specifications:
Windows XP SP3 Professional Edition 32bit
    Firefox 3.6 & Chrome 32 bit
    Pentium 4 2.93Ghz
    2Gb DDR memory
Nvidia 8400gs (Latest Drivers installed)  <- The Graphics Card uses PCI interface.
    A picture displaying my problem:
    http://imgur.com/FkFvy.png
If someone could please assist me with the issue I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the same problem here with windows xp, 8400gs, flash player 10.1, and the driver was installed sometime last month after the release of 10.1 player, which I think should be good enough.
Hope to get some hints here.

  • Reinserting Preview/Images missing from  Library and Project

After ingesting my images from CF reader into a project, I started working on them. For some reason after working on them for awhile, I started noticing that previews were missing from the project. I looked in the Library and they were not there either. However, when I looked in to the project folder (via the Aperture "folder" in Finder), the images and associated Aperture information files were all there in their respective folders.
I'm not sure how I lost/deleted so many images from my folder and Library (I may have accidently deleted a stack, but when I searched the number of images missing I know I could not have accidently deleted that many that way if I did). But since the files are still on my hard drive in their respective folders, in the right location, is there a way to bring them back into Aperture?
    Thanks,
    Ed

bump...if anyone can tell me that would be great. I know it sounds like a dumb question, but for the life of me I cannot do any command - import, etc. - that can get these files that reside in the actual folder to show up in Aperture's Library or its original project.
    Thx,
    Ed

  • Loss of GPU acceleration after lastest CC update.

I recently upgraded to the CC programs. I still have a project to complete with my previous version of Premiere Pro CS6. After the latest CC update I lost my GPU acceleration and get the following error message.
    "Missing Renderer
This project was last used with a Mercury Playback engine GPU acceleration(GPU), which is not available on this system. Mercury playback engine software only will be used"
I'm running two NVIDIA Quadro K5000 video cards and  running Windows 7 operating system. Before the upgrade everything was working great. My lastest update is Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.4

    Hi Pete,
    Thanks for contacting adobe forums,
Here is little confusion, are you getting this error on Premiere Pro CC or Premiere Pro CS6 ?
because the NVIDIA Quadro K5000 is supported on Premiere Pro CC onwards.

  • Adding GPU Accelerated Cuda Effects is suddenly very laggy?

    Hello Adobe Experts,
I am appealing for some help with an issue that has bugged me for a little while. The best way to explain it is to show you the problem in a short 4 minute video which I will post below for those who have the time to take a look. Failing that my description is beneath the video.
Essentially, I upgraded to Premiere Pro CS6 from CS5.5 and discovered GPU acceleration. Wow! I subsequently was due to upgrade my iMac and bring in the specs to make the most of this technology, especially within colour correcting and grading. The new machine we got is a 2012 Mac Pro 12 core (2 x 6 cores 2.4Ghz) with 32 GB Ram and a Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac (2GB). It also has an SSD drive as the OS boot and applications drive so hoping that things would be super quick.
For a time they were, I can remember adding the Fast Color Corrector effect to a video clip and dragging the wheel around and everything would move in realtime, the program monitor was updating as I moved the mouse within the colur wheel. It was smooth and silky which I just loved as it meant that colour correction/grading would be now very easy to accurately dial in a look quickly and then move to the next clip. Plus no need to render afterwards either, hooray!
Then recently, and I am not sure what has caused this, it stopped working as well?!? I still don't have to render the clip after adding the effect or making a change to the parameters, however the process of making the change has become slow, unresponsive, laggy, delayed, laboured or any other similar adjectives. Now when I drag the mouse in the colour wheel the update happens in delayed steps and it is certainly anything from smooth and silky anymore. The problem with this is that it is very hard to accurately and quickly move the parameters around and make those fine adjustments which in turn slows down the process greatly.
I am really keen to know the following:
Does anyone else with a similar system have these issues?
Is this just how it is? (Trouble is I remember it being much faster and more responsive. Also I watched Maxim Jago at a workshop and he didn't seem to struggle with these issues when showing off GPU acceleration and adjusting effect parameters, even during playback)
Is it a hardware issue? Does my GPU need to be faster or is it not being correctly allocated to Premiere Pro?
Is it a software issue? Is it something that has come about in more recent versions of Premiere Pro?
How can I go about resolving this issue?
So far I have tried a fair few things like resetting preferences, ensuring the GPU acceleration in the 'Memory' preferences tab is turned on, clearing media caches, removing and reinstalling Premiere Pro et cetera.
If any experts from the community can help or indeed anyone from Adobe can help me resolve this issue, or at least feed back thoughts and comments, then I would be so grateful.
    Best wishes,
    Alex

    Hi Maxim and JFPhoton,
I'll try and come back to all those points:
    To JFPhoton-
which version of PPro are you using......CCloud, or CS 6 ? - CC Latest version
is your RAID setup configured in RAID 0......what were test results for speed ? Three internal HDD 3TBs striped together for maximum throughput. Speed results =
    To Maxim Jago-
Yes I have reset the preferences. I have also unisntalled Premiere and then reinstalled it. Also completely reinstalled my OS just in case.
Playback is running at full res and has been since I got the machine - never had an issue from the start and then all of a sudden..... meh!
I have three internal HDDs (3TB) striped together in raid for maximum throughput which are pretty quick (speedtest above). I did try to check this though by putting source content onto my boot drive which is an SSD and then trying to see if issue exists in this case which it does. I also tried transcoding to other codecs than h.264 and the problem is still present.
Yes there is a fair bit of software running in menu bar. Used to have iStats running which I have removed now and problem still persists. Others I wouldn't think should be taxking the GPU. Although I will try quitting out of everything none essential.
Definitely up to date on most recent version of PPro
The Quadro 4000 was superb once I first got it. As mentioned above, I could perorm all the edits to the mentioned effects with ease at full res whilst plyaing back and everything working fine! I just wonder however if the card may have developed a fault or need cleaning out of dust or something? (quite a lot of dust present when I last opened the side door). Is there a way to check this?
Same problem persists across different projects and codecs.
As I just mentioned to Maxim, I wonder if my GPU has developed a fault? The reason I say this is because sometimes my monitor doesn't come on correctly (just shows a black screen) and I have to turn on and off again. Also, sometimes within Premiere I have an issue where I resize a window and I get 'ghosting' of that window as I drag. Did also previously have an issue changing between colour correction workspace and editing workspace. The workspace simply wouldn;t change and everything was completely unresponsive. I just wondered if anyone knew a way to check the GPU without taking it out of the machine or indeed if this might be the cause of my problems?
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I really really appreciate it.
    Best wishes

  • GPU Acceleration causes random frame in encode?

New Mac Pro (6 core, d500 cards, 32GB RAM, OSX10.9.4). Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014.0.1. Tested on two separate machines of the same configuration.
I have a just over 2 hour long 1080p ProRes file that I was encoding to MPEG2 for DVD. During QC of the disc, a random frame from another part of the movie was found in a spot about 39 minutes into the encode. The issue was in the encoded MPEG2 stream.
The client also wanted a lower resolution h264 proof of the video, and that was encoded on the same machine at a separate time. That had the same random frame at the exact same spot.
I encoded the preview h264 in just a few minute segment of the video around the glitch on the second Mac Pro. It showed up again. I used the same setting but turned off GPU Acceleration, and the frame is gone.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on here? Obviously there is a problem with GPU acceleration on the new Mac Pro's with Media Encoder, but what could be specifically causing it and what could be done to fix this? With all of the issues in Premiere and After Effects, some of which are being caused by software updates, and the issues with the one Mac Pro needing to be replaced due to bad video cards, I feel like there is just a ton of problems that didn't exist on our outdated Mac Pro with Final Cut Pro 7.
Please let me know of any ideas to make me not doubt every encode I do on these machines with GPU Acceleration turned on. Thanks.
    -Phil

Does anyone have any additional ideas on this? I heard from the CreativeCow forums that this has been a known bug with GPU Acceleration on the new Mac Pros. Is this the case? Has anyone else had this issue looked at by Adobe?

  • PPro 5.0.2 update works OK for Me

I'm writing this after reading about problems some people are having with the PPro 5.0.2 update
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652694?tstart=0 has a link to what I built for CS5... I am using the 197.45 nVidia driver for my GTX 285
I edit AVCHD from a Canon Vixia HFS100 camera, and DV AVI from old VHS tapes, digitized by a Pinnacle Dv500 card
Based on LIMITED editing (I don't anything very fancy) I find no problems with the PPro 5.0.2 update
When starting a new project, all the presets I remember are there (of course, I may just not remember something that is missing)
My existing AVCHD project opened with no problems, and exported to NTSC DV Widescreen with no problems
This is just one computer, and very simple projects, but everything works

    >might want to update your videodriver, you are two versions behind
I am a member of the "if it isn't broken, don't try to fix it" school of thought
My GTX 285 is now "old and out of date" itself, so as long as everything **I** want to do works properly, I am not going to mess with the driver
I do have driver versions 257.21 and 258.96 downloaded and saved on a data drive, but will ONLY look into installing if I try something in PPro and it doesn't work... AND I can trace whatever it is that isn't working to the video card
Until then, I will stick with the 197.45 driver
