PPro CS6 Slow motion is jittery is there a fix

Hi
When i slow down a clip it jitters and is not smooth.  Is there a fix for this?  I'm certain that this shouldn't happen.
Thanks.

premiere has no real slow motion effect built into it. premiere does one of two things, it will repeat a frame or blend the two frames to fake a new original one. frame blend looks like ghosting, it may have worked on old tube tv's, but on todays lcd's its very noticeable. the same can be said of the repeat frame, on modern tv/lcds it will be noticed, which is the stutter/jitter you may be seeing.
so this depends on what the true frame rate of the archive footage is and it also depends on how much you are trying to slow down the footage, telling premiere to make up new fake frames. the file you have may report as 25, but very old camera's actually shot lower fps and the footage might have been thrown in a 25p project to be put on youtube etc. if the true fps of the archive footage is lower, you will notice the stutter/jitter even more.
as Ann says you can try After Effects, it does have some slow motion effects that do try to recreate a new frame not just repeat or blend frames.  however this has its faults too, and creates artifacts around the areas of motion. this can be just as annoying and distracting. there are tutorials on youtube etc, that show ways to try and hide the artifacts to clean up the footage. there are also third party plugins, i believe Twixtor Pro is the most popular but also expensive.

  • 60p Slow Motion still jittery and stroby. What am I doing wrong?

I shot in JVCs 60p. When I try slow mo in either an HDV or SD 30 fps time line, it looks just as bad as 30p slow motion. Could it be that once I put the clip in the HDV 30p timeline, FCP treats it just like a 30p clip? I've tried altering the motion blur and speed, but that makes no difference. FYI, in order to use my JVC "SDHD60 p" clips - which FCP doesn't recognize- I had to convert the QT files using the HDV-DV program. But QT files look fine and smooth at regular speed, so I don't really think that's the problem.

Okay, upon further experimentation - I found that once I've created the slo mo in the 60P timeline, I can export the sequence using QT compression to a 72030p clip and import into the timeline. But this is a big pain. It seems it also works to edit everything in a 60p timeline. The 30p material must render, but it doesn't take long. Anyone out there experimented with this??

  • F 3.6.10 is loading too slow, also it's slow changing webpages. Is there a fix?

It takes about a minute to load, and about 30 sec to change websites. this happens on all websites all the time. This happened with previous version before upgrading to 3.6.10, but now its worse.

i hate so say it, but the more add-ons you install on your Firefox, the more bloated it becomes, and the slower it starts...
i have to say that Firefox desperately needs to reach the speeds of Opera or Maxthon or Chrome, its really frustrating to wait for 5+ seconds for your Firefox to start, by that time i can view all i need with Chrome
so i suggest you guys try working this problem out, its the one first thing holding me back, second is the amount of space the interface takes (3.x)

  • Firefox is extrememly slow to start. Is there a fix ?????

Each time I start Firefox I wait for well over a minute before it starts. This seems to be a problem shared by many users. Is there a solution?

    Hello Frank.
Firefox is, in general, fast to open. You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.
However, some older computers may have trouble handling applications (Firefox included). If this lack of performance is widespread in your system, you may need to get a better system... Or your operating system may be in need of some maintenance. Contact your OS's developer for support if you need help maintaining your OS (or ask someone you know who has experience, if you don't have it).

  • Ever since Firefox updated to v26, my webpages are very slow to load. Is there a fix?

I have Windows XP. In January 2014, Firefox updated to version 26. Now, every time I try to access a webisete, the wheel turns verly slowly or hesitates and it takes a long time for websites to open. I have no problems watching streaming video. I have had to resort to using Internet Explorer because of this Firefox problem. I have noticed others have been experiencing similar issues with Firefox V26. Will there be a fix for this problem soon?

  • Slow motion problem publishing from imovie to idvd

The problem is with publishing a film to idvd from imovie. The slow motion clips "glitch up" when viewed on idvd but run smoothly when viewed on imovie. The visual of the slow motion clip pauses as the audio continues. The movie picks up as normal after the slow motion scene ends. There is another point in the movie where a non-slow motion scene does the same thing (visual pauses and audio continues) until the end of the entire movie. The glitch stops before the credits (which is not filmed fottage). How do I fix this?

hmmmm..I would double check the other clips. Other than that I am stumped. Maybe someone else will have some ideas.
Also, once you changed to 25%, you need to re-SHARE the video. (If you haven't already)

  • Slow motion, subtitles and extracting freeze frames

    hi friend,
had a few queries if someone can help.
    1) want to play a single clip in a project in slow motion. how can it be done?
    2) can subtitles of the voice be added? there are only three titles and only possibility to have one in a clip.
    3) can a freeze frame be exported as a photo to camera roll or photos? or can a still frame in a video be extracted as a photo and sent to the camera roll?
    thanx,

    1. You will need to buy an slow motion video app.
There are a few in the app store that slow down video that is already shot.
Export the slowed video to the camera roll, and use it in iMovie.
    2. Subtitling is not an option in iMovie.
You can add 'middle' titles, but using this to make subtitles would be slow, and add transitions which is anoying.
    3. There are apps that can make stills from video.
Or you can do a screen grab of the ipad; hold power and Home button.

  • Slow motion and trailing in premiere pro cs6

attached is a sample of a clip edited years ago with liquid edition.
In liquid edition  "timewarp editor" you could create slow motion together with trailing effect as it shows in the attached clip.
I wonder if it can be done in premiere pro cs6
    thanks arikw

Well, you could do it manually if you wanted to. Just pile up a few tracks of the same clip and offset each one by a frame or two from the others. Then set the opacity to something low, like 25%, and see how that looks.
There may be an effect for it that I just am not familiar with.

  • Updating the Project Panel in PPro CS6 is horrendously slow! (But nothing else is affected)

Anytime I make a change to the project panel whether it's moving a clip to a folder, adding a description, or anything.... it freezes up for around 20 seconds before it does anything?! All other performance of PPro CS6 is fine - Timeline, Source and Program monitors, Effects window - none of these are slow, only in the project panel do I have an issue...
Does anyone know what may be causing this?
    Thanks all!

    I am updated to CS6.0.5
I have it in list view
I just tested it and it only seems to happen with this project
I have an NVidia GeForce 8800GT driver version 314.07
I haven't changed anything with my disk setup or my computer - I have 4 HDD's one is my system HDD, one has my Footage and Projects, one has all the preview/render files (Scratch disk), and the last one has archives of older Footage and projects
This problem affects everything in the project panel, no specific filetypes or anything.
There are quite a few clips in this project - over 400 clips - would that be causing this?
I am doing behind the scenes for a film and I keep adding to this project...
    Thanks guys!

  • CS6: assigning Ramped Slow Motion?

    Hi,
it's circumstantial to assign a ramped slow motion effect (time remapping with smooth transition) to a part of a clip — e.g. seen in this video tutorial:
    http://layersmagazine.com/time-remap-in-premiere-pro.html
But how it is possible to automate these steps when I want to have this effect multiple times within one clip?
Is there a possibility to copy&paste the time-speed settings to another clip selection? Assignin the copied attributes (via mouse context menu I found in Premiere CS6) results in unexspected results...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot!
    mtemp

Show us the timeline and not the graph editor... A time remapped sequence should look like this.
Because you showed us a screenshot with the graph editor and not the timeline it makes me think that you did not extend the out point of the video. The only way to extend the out point of the video in the graph editor view is to move the CTI (current time indicator) to the end of the comp and press Alt/Option + ]  to reset the out point. You can't do it by clicking and dragging in the Graph Editor.
Also, if the entire clip does not preview then you may not have enough ram. I always have my Composition Resolution/Down Sample set to Auto and usually preview at a composition Magnification Ratio value of 50% or 25%.

  • When I view or upload files (such as on You Tube) there is no longer normal image movement. All action has a "strobe" effect as in slow motion, but audio seems normal. Is this a plug-in problem?

All of a sudden when I view a file that's been downloaded, or viewed on line, whether in Windows Media, or on You Tube on line site, or Power DVD Play program, the image appears as if it was in a slow motion "strobe" effect, while the audio sounds consistent, (barring the frequent stalls). If I burn a DVD, it has the slow motion strobe effect burnt into the disc as well & is difficult to view on a DVD player. Is this a plug-in problem that has suddenly manifested, and is there a way of getting the system back to it's normal operation??

    Hello Joe.
Try disabling all add-ons (that's extensions, plugins and themes, go into ''Tools > Add-ons'') except for Flash and see if the problem persists. If they don't, enable one add-on at a time until you find the problem. If they do, try a new [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles Firefox profile] and see if it has the same issues. If it does (make sure other plugins aren't enabled), you need to contact Adobe for support on their Flash plugin ([https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ updating] it will be the first thing they tell you to do). If it doesn't, please tell me.

  • What is the best afordable/free Slow motion plugin for AE CS6?

Howdy! I am new here and I couldn't really find the answer I was looking for. I need a affordable or Free is even better plugin for AE CS6 to do some editing on GoPro footage and some other High fps video. I really want a smooth and minimal blur effect. Doesn't have to be perfect but better than what I got now. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Teflon

MOST PEOPLE do not understand frame rates and slow motion. High frame rate compositions do not improve slow motion. Video works the same way that film does. Shoot at a high frame rate and playback every frame on a projector that is running slower than your camera was running. Simple as that.
Time remapping with frame blending is included with AE. If you shoot with your GoPro at 60 or higher just open the footage in AE, interpret the footage as 29.97 or other standard frame rate like 24 or 23.976, then drop the footage in a comp with the same frame rate and you'll have you slow mo with no problem. That's the same thing as shooting film at 60fps or 100fps and threading up the film in a projector that runs 24fps. If you want to slow it down further use Time Remapping.
The only other really good plug-in is Twixtor, but that's expensive. All others are about the same as what's included with AE.

  • Slow motion: PPro v After Effects

I'm new to the CS3 products. In previous versions I found After Effects slow motion (time remapping) to be better quality output than PPro slow motion on a clip. Has anyone done a comparison for slow motion in CS3 between PPro and After Effects?

Oh, right on. I hadn't played with Time Warp in Premiere. Yes, I have tried the PPro Time Reampping, but I still find the keyframing really cumbersome. I guess I've been working with After Effects too long for this sort of thing. Can't teach an old dog, eh? I suppose I'll delve into it more deeply when the need arises.
I've been having another issue with Premiere that precludes me from using Time Remapping, Time Warp, Speed, etc: Since I upgraded to CS3, whenever I apply speed changes (of any kind) the clip are automatically deinterlaced -- whether I've checked "deinterlace" or not. Sometimes this problem goes away when I deselect Frame Blending, but more often not. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
