PR and PO release strategy setup

Hi all Gurus,
Is there a tcode that will capture anything that falls under the equation:
MRP PR xxxx part #  " not equal " to P/O xxx part #
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Virgilio

Dear Virgilio,
Could you elobarate your requirement?
You can have PR & PR qty and PO & PO qty in ME5A report.
From dynamic selection, for PO qty field give Except Zero value.
Hope this meets your requirement

  • Dynamic release strategy and static release strategy

    Hi,
What is the difference between dynamic release strategy and static release strategy.
What the customization setting required to activate dymanic and static release strategy.
    Thank you
    REgards,
    Yshu

    Dear Yshu,
What do you mean by dynamic and static release strategy. In SAP, we don'y have this term.
Please kindly give more explanation so we can help you.
We only have with classification and without classification.
Normally, release strategy without classification is used in R/2, and out of support in
R/3. However the functionality still available in case you want to use it.
You can not use Release without classification and Release with classification.
If there is an entry present in Release Group table (T16FG-FRGOT), only release with
    classification can be used.
If you are in R/3, then forget the release strategy without classification but just
use the release strategy with classification as it had more flexibility than the old
    system design.
    Thanks

  • PO and SchdAgreem Release Strategy at Item Level

    Hello!!
I have the request to setup a the release strategy for the PO and Schedule agreements at line item level....
as far I know for PurReqs is possible to do that... but for PO and SAs it is only at header level...
Do you know if is possible to do that in configuration??

    Hi,
Release strategy for PO & SA is only at Header level, since these documents are external purchase documents.
But, PR is internal purchase document and release strategy is possible at both item and header level.
i think, it is not possible to do release strategy at item level for PO & SA as you said,

define the characterstics ct04 and assign all this to class cl02.
define the release stratesy - release group-release codes- release indicator-release statues
then - simulation and classification. in the calsssification you have to define characetstics.

  • MIR7 doesn't get PO and PO release strategy

I can see PO item 10, 10000 MYR in ME23N, and it is already released.
In MIR7, PO reference tab, I put PO number and item number, but mesages says no item number. and it didn't populate item from PO.
    what's the reason?
also I create PR and released PR, but when I run ME59N and input PR number, it says  No suitable purchase requisitions found
Message no. ME261? I can't generate PO automatically. I have to use ME21N, what's the wrong with my system?
I tried one purchase group and PO can't be released, but when I change purchase group, it is ok, may i know the SPRO configuration to define certain purchase group for release strategy?
also how can we set certain PO document type with release strategy and some PO document type without release strategy ?

    Hello
For first question, Please check in the PO line item level Invoice tab, whether GR based invoice verification is checked. If yes, then system will allow you perform MIR7 after Goods receipt.
    Second question:
ME59N should display the open PRs for PO creation. Please cross check once agian the input selection parameters.
    Third Question
Yes, you can configure the Release procedure based on Purchasing document type/Pur group. You need to define the paramter as Charactetristic and assign to the Release class.

  • Purchase Order Release Strategy and SAP user RelationShip

    Hi,
We are currently developing a work flow to streamline PO release in our company . What we want to achieve is that

Now when c1 release the purchase order a work item should be created to for the user/employee who is assigned the c2 code.
Currently this workflow is not implemented in our company adn the relase stategy is handeled by authorization oobjects and when ever a po user relase the po he calls up the other persona next in relase strategy to notify him about the work he has to do .

  • PO Release Strategy not triggerred for particular Total Net Order Value

    Dear,
I am currently facing the issue where release strategy for purchase orders is not getting triggered for a particular value or lower.
For order value 1 INR or less, no release strategy is triggered for new created PO. And for value > 1 INR release strategy is getting triggered.
All otehr PO characterstics are the same, I mean to say the values for other characterstics such as plant material group are identical.
But the characterstics for release for Total net order value are <= 30000 INR. There are two system copies, where in one system the same release strategy is working as expected. But in other system the above mentioned issue occurs. There is no differnce which I can see in the release strategy setup.
    Please suggest for solution.
    Thank you.
    Warm Regards.

    Dear All,
While looking further into the issue by going into debugging mode, we have found that in include LCLSCF2I, Internal table p_selection_criteria_tab , the value for ATFLV (Internal Floating point from) gets different values in the two systems. For example, in the affected system, for PO with 1INR tottal value, for one of the Total value chaaracterstics before INR characterstic, ATFLV value is 0,0000000000000000E+00, hence it gets out of loop and doesn't trigger release strategy.
But in another system for same PO values and release setup, ATFLV value is 1,0000000000000000E+00 for that characterstic.
May I know how the value for this field gets calculated.
    Thank you.
    Warm Regards.

  • Release procedure setup for changed Purchase orders

    Hello All,
    I have below scenario
    1. After PR creation, it will be approved. and get converted to PO. At this time no need for approval  (release) again. But once the same PO has been changed it should be subjected for release (approval). Can we have release strategy setup which will get trigger only when PO is changed.
    2. Similarly, if PO is created without PR, then it should get subjected to release.
How can we configure the above business process in the SAP system?

    Hi,
Do you have version mangement active in your system for PO's . If you have then you can use the filed CEKKO - REVNO
Maintain the Character Value as > 0,
So any PO whose version number goes above 0 , the relase strategy will trigger.
If not, then first of all you have to configure Version Management.
Go to SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Set Up Version Management for External Purchasing Documents > Here activate Version Management for the PO Doc Types you want. Here activate the following indicators.
    Version active
    Version 0 OK
So whenever PO will get created the Version 0 will get activated automatically. And whenever you change PO, it will generate versions 1,2,3 and so on.
Now in PO Release Characteristics use Field CEKKO-REVNO
And in "Clasification", maintain value > 0 (Greater than Zero)
And then check in ME21N, release strategy will not be applicable but for ME22N, it will get applied.

  • How to Display PO Release Strategy in Enjoy Screen

    Dear all,
I have a PO with a release strategy, which contain several release codes to release the PO (i.e. M1 & V1).
However, I am only able to display the release code (i.e. M1 & V1) in t-code ME23. I could not do the same in the enjoy screen t-code ME23N for the same PO number.
In the item level, there should be a tab with release strategy to display the PO release strategy (similar to PR), but it is not appearing.
Could anyone tell me what is the problem here? I just could not find the tab or menu to view the release strategy of a PO in the enjoy screen. Similar goes to other PO. I could not view it as well. But in the old screen, I could view it.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks 4 the reply Rahul.
I understand that it is only possible to release at header level. What my problem is that I am unable to view the release strategy (which code to release and who to release) for the PO in enjoy screen.
In my earlier thread replying to Ankur, I am simply describing that I could just select a line item, click on the release strategy button and the release strategy is displayed. A different line item with different value generated a different release strategy of course. Different amount require different set of release strategies, usually more level of approvals.
So, actually this question is not about where or how I can release a PO, but actually I could not view who is releasing for a PO in ME23N.
I even simulate it in the development server and still the same thing happen. Is it the same for everyone else? If yes, how to view who is releasing the PO in ME23N? Version of system is 4.7.
Thanks and appreciate if anyone could help.

  • PO release strategy problem

    Hello Friends
    Who can help me?
I created one PO, then check in ME23, and found release strategy for this PO is 'VS', but when I  check PO release strategy in customizing, it's not defined for PO release strategy.  So, how strategy 'VS' is assigned to PO during order creation?
This order can't be released in ME28

  • PO not subject to Release strategy but PR is.

    Hi Friends,
I am trying to check what purchases have occured in my organisation which have not been authorised at some point.
I first have done a search using table EKKO for PO's not assigned a release strategy and found many.  Therefore I thought well maybe they have been authorised at the PR level using a release strategy.  I looked at one and this seems to be the case.
Am I right in thinking that what has happened in this scenario is that a PR has been created, been released via the appropriate release codes and then automatically become a PO but the PO has not met the criteria of a release strategy and so been released automatically?
I'm a little confused because we only appear to have release strategies defined for PO so how would these pick up PR?
BTW our release strategies are classified on PO approval - reasons and PO approval - Plant.
    Last thing:
So if I want to check which orders have not been authorised I was thinking of using table EKPO to look for PO documents with no PR (Do all PO's need a PR?) and no release strategy assigned to the PO.  Using table viewer SE16 how do I specify "null" i.e. no value?  Do I just type NULL?
I guess then I need to look at all PR's that come out to see if they have got a release strategy assigned?
Thanks for your help, sorry for the rambling question...
    Chris

    Chris,
    1. Your PRs might not be subject to release strategies at all
Go to SE16 and look up T16FG, and run it wide.. look for the release object .. if you see "1" you have Release configured for PRs as well, else 2 is for POs
    2. Tcode ME2N, select dynamic selection  and under  PO header choose Release status and Subject to release indicator and play around with them the way you want.
also, choose Purchasing item>> purchase requisition  and in teh field .. right click and choose options..= and leave teh field blank, that 'd mean null
execute the report based on other criteria if any
Not all POs require a requisition although they should theoretically.

  • Purchase Req release strategy help

PR's generated from MRP are being blocked, however when I convert a planned order from MRP into a PR it is automatically released. I want MRP generated Reqs to be also released. I tried creating a new class, characteristic and strategy group but ran into problems when assigning the class to the group. Basically we just want all reqs created from MRP to be released and not go through workflow. Any ideas? My inital thought was to use the creation indicator EBAN-ESTKZ with the value of B (MRP) and U (converted planned orders)

    hi Ryan
U can use only one release class in PR release strategy
error is because ur trying to use another class add the charactaristics ib existing class and configure release strategy

  • PO release strategy Classification

    Dear all,
I have a question about PO release strategy would like to ask, hope you can give me some advice.
I have about ten release strategies which is used for different requirements.
For each release strateg, there are several Classification.
I am going to set a new release strategy, which only concern some of the Classifications, for the non-used Classifications, I have set a '*' to be the value, but the release strategy does work.
I would like to know is it all Classification should be provided a value?
    Many Thanks
    Sunny

    Hello Biju,
Firstly, many thanks of your idea.
    Let me make an example.
I have a clasification (GROUP 1) which has predefined values ('A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E', ' ' ), and this clasification was already used in many release strategys.
A release strategy is defined to trigger the release when the value of the clasification (GROUP 1) is value 'A' and a release strategy is defined to trigger the release when the value of the clasification (GROUP 1) is value 'B' ..etc.
For this new release strategy, it does not concern the values of the clasification (GROUP 1). In my setting, if I set a value '*' in the release classification, the release never triggers. What should I set if I would like to ignore this classification for this release strategy?
    Thanks your advice again

  • Cannot reset release strategy for RFQ

    Dear SAP gurus,
I set release procedure for RFQ. I set anyway that the changeability is 6, and the tolerance is zero. I expect that after it is released, whenever anyone is changing everything the release strategy will be reset.
But this is not happening. In my case, the manager already approve the RFQ but the RFQ has not been sent yet. Then someone change the quantity of the RFQ, and the release strategy is not reset. When I check again I realize that changeability 6 means the release will be reset if the value is changed; while in RFQ there is no value mentioned anywhere, it means that the release strategy for RFQ will never be reset.
Do i miss something? Is there any way to make sure that the release for RFQ is reset if someone change anything in the RFQ?
    Best regards,
    John.

Why are you having a value based release in RFQ? And more important, why do you need release for RFQ?
However, if you still want to go ahead with release, then you need to use the user exit for purchasing document release to achieve your objective. Please search for my earlier posts on how to reset release even on decrease of PO value. You can use the same logic for RFQ also.

  • SES Release Strategy not invoked in Backend from SRM confirmation posting

    Hi,
I have configured a SES release strategy based on vendor number in R/3. When a SES is created in R/3 via ML81N the release strategy is invoked as expected. However, when a confirmation is entered in SRM for that vendor, the SES that is created in the backend system is created in accepted status and the release strategy is not invoked.
Can anyone advise how to get this to work the same way as ML81N?
I would expect that the SES would be created in the backend from the confirmation without acceptance and the release procedure to be the same as ML81N.
    thanks,
    Michelle.

    Hi,
The SRM confirmation in EBP is the goods receipt(MIGO) and not the service entry sheet entry (ML81N) as we do in Materials management.
As per my understanding there is no provision of service entry sheet entry in SRM 5.0 as of now  and SRM 7.0 has this option coming up :
    In SRM 7.0 ,
"Supplier-maintained confirmation (service entry sheet) for services performed based on the service items within a purchase order
Confirmation supporting hierarchical structure of service items"
    are added.
Look for this information in the thread which speaks about SRM 7.0
Re: Benefits of upgrading to SAP SRM 2007
which gives the info in slide 11, Delta SRM 7.0, Service procurement -2
    Best regards,
    Sridhar.
