PR( purchase requ) for Alternative material in BOM
Hi PP expert,
I am using alternative material in BOM. As for example my Header BOM material is u2018Yu2019 and his alternative components are X1 and X2
I have done setting in BOM
For -
X1,------
Priority ---1
Strategy - 2 ,100%
Usage prob 100
For -
X2----
Priority -
2
Strategy - -
2 ,100%
Usage prob -
0
My client want when run the MRP , PR should be generate of material u201CX2u201D ,because there is no X2 stock and Material u201CX1u201D have more stock and want to consume X1 material 1st then X2.
X1 has been blocked for procurement.
Kindly suggest me how will generate PR of X2 when the run MRP. X2 is alternative material..
Regards,
Aqueel
Hi Aqueel!
As I know, standard SAP cannot solve your problem. Howerver, you can try with these way:
1/ Try to estimate how long your company will consump all X1(Ex 3 days). Use Alternative BOM 1 for X1, Alternative BOM 2 for X2. And allocate Alt 1 to Production version 1 with valid to 8/10/2010, Alt 2 to production 2 valid from 9/10/2010.
2/ Change:
For -
X1,------
Priority ---2
Strategy - 2 ,100%
Usage prob 0
For -
X2----
Priority -
1
Strategy - -
2 ,100%
Usage prob -
100
And Run MRP, system will take X2 into accout. If you want to savage X1. Need to calculate it and manually change in comonent list of Production order (Now, X2 will consider) with X1 until X1 stock finish.
Hope it can solve you problem(not perfect).
Regards
Tony

Dear SAP Friends,
I have a BOM with 1 material & want to add 1 alternative material if previous one is not available in stock.
pl tell how to create alternative material in BOM without creating alternative BOM.
Regards,
Chandra.Hi chandra
Alternative items can be added to the BOM without alternate BOM.
In change mode of BOM CS 02 go to BOM item details There you can see alternative items with item group
There you can define you items with Priority, usage probability , Strategy,
Alternate item will be selected during MRP run as per your usage probability

Create another purchase order for a material ordered in full
Hello friends,
I have a little MM question for you.
I've created a purchase requisition with a material A and quantity 100 UN
I've then created a purchase order in reference to this PR.
This PO has been released.
Is it possible, in standard SAP, to create another purchase order in reference to the same purchase requisition for the same material and the same quantitiy ?
How does SAP control that ? (customizing path ??)
Regards,
Bahia.Dear,
Is it possible, in standard SAP, to create another purchase order in reference to the same purchase requisition for the same material and the same quantitiy ? Yes it is possible in SAP
How does SAP control that ? (customizing path ??): SAP controls in that way, when ever you create purchase requisition with a material A and quantity 100 UN...Now PO created and released...
Now again if you try to create PO wrt PR, you can observe this time you will get all deatils in PO without quantity...reason behind that is, you have already released an order for full qty w.r.t. that PR...So this time qty field will be empty..You have to manually enter this field.
Now the same you can see in the the PR status in ME53N Tcode.

Purchase order for stock material in production order
Hi
does anybody know how to link a purchase request to production order in case of stock material ? When MRP runs aggregate all requirements for stock materials in one purchase request, and I wold like to find list of order that generated the request,
thanks

I think I understand what you are trying to achieve -> this sounds like you would want to do what SAP standard would do with KD/E-requirements (customer specific) = every material=item=position in a SD-order will create it's PR or production order. In the same way you want to generate one PR-item per production-order component - wait! - Maybe you want to create a single PR for every component in the production order???

You will have to talk to your MM/PP-functional ... if you do not have RESB-entries I have no idea how this process is setup. You probably do not have components in those production orders, only one header-material (CAUFVD-MATNR). Depending on what is configured in the material-master MRP views + what modifications/enhancements are installed around the complete process, you could have almost any setup. It's impossible to say without seeing it. Make sure s/he explains to you exactly, since even with different stock-materials there could be different setups for procurement.

Purchase request for stock material
Hi
when MRP runs, take all purchase request of all production order for STOCK material and aggregates all request together in one purchase order. In this way, I lost binding between purchase request and production order. Is there a way to make MRP not aggregating request but use different position for different purchase request in case of stock material?
regards
GabrieleGabriele,
MRP does not create purchase orders. I assume you are talking about the Purchase requisitions created by MRP.
In MTS by definition there is no 'binding' between supply elements (such as Purchase reqs) and demand elements (such as production order reservations). In MTS, all production is 'anonymous'.
You can cause MRP minimize the amount of aggregation of supply elements by changing lot size of the components to EX, and ensure that the 'individual/collective' indicator (MRP4) is not set to '2', but there is no way to guarantee a 1-to-1 relationship under all circumstances between mrp rqments and mrp supply (purchase requisitions)
Companies that have a business requirement to 'hard-link' supply to demand use MTO. If this is your requirement, it will never be completely satisfied with MTS.

MRP run for header material with bom usage-3
Dear All,
We have header material with bom usage-3.We maintain the stock at child components only ,not at header
I have created the planned independent requirement for header material.I have created a sales order but sales order is not shown in md04.
What can be the further setting I am missing for mrp run of above scenario.
with regards,
pradeepDear ,
Couple of checks points for you :
1.Check the material master Sales Org Veie-Item Categoery .As you have mentioned Item Categoery -TAQ which is not relevent for requirement planning throgh schedule line category -CT ( CT means there will not be any inventory or good movement and requirement will not be passed for MRP ) .Only CP -line item categoery does requirement passing through MRP and it will show u in MD04. So the summery is if you want to generate an MTO order for the same FG material , you should matian the Sales Line item categoery as MTO in sales Org View and it will pop up in VA01 whiel logging Sales Order .
Generally , TAQ item categoery are used in Project Billing or Delivery .ok and they will not be having any availabilit check so it KP ( no check ) .
But for MTO order , you should have availablty chek 02/01 in MRP3 view and also MTO Sales Item categoery .
Based on the above information logg an sales order , release credit chek in VKM3, SAVE and check in MD04.
Create PIR in MD61 and Run MRP on the both cases .I have tested its working .but noit with TAQ item categoery ok
2.Why do you need to create Sales Order for dependent Item-Y because it will be in X-BOM item ? Make sure that Y- should have Sales Item categoery in material master -MM02-Sales Org View as NORM item .If you really want to create sale sorder for this item , it should TAN or NORM .
3.Other PIR detail is fine .
Try and revert back

How to create a Purchase Requisition for a material component in WBS or NW?
Hello All,
I have created a project with the following structure:
Project Defination (Construction of Sub station)
Main WBS
Level 1 WBS
Level 2 WBS
Network for level 2 WBS
Activity (Procuring Material)
Material Component - MATXXX (Stock Item)
Now in the above structure i have a activity where in i am procuring all the materails required to construct a Substation.
So under this activity i have assigned all the materials which are needed to build Substaion.
After i change the status of the project to release, there a reservation created for the quantity of the material which i have mentioned in the material component under the activity.
Now my querey is, how should i create a Purchase requisition for the reserved materail quantity in order to bring in the stock against the WBS / network / Project ?
Awaiting your reply.
Thanks and Regards,
Sudarshan.Hi Sudarshan,
In your case you can run Me5J to check the list of PR created against your project.
Then Create PO and similarly you can check list of PO in Me2J.
Then followed by GR and check if any GR release exist in MIGO. Then once after doing GR you can check the Material in Stock which will move material from Unrestricted stock to Project Stock which you can check it in MMBE.
Then you can do the Good Issue in MIGO itself and run MIRO to complete the cycle.

Purchase order for sample material
Dear All,
Do you have any suggestion about purchase for sample material?
During we develop new vendor, we will get sample material from them and do not pay, but after we use the material to produce, and the quality is OK, we will pay for the sample materials, the process should cover purchase, production, QM, warehouse.
I will reward you.
Best regards
GangHi,
I would suggest that you try a consignment PO.
this will bring the item into stock but the item will not cause any finacial postings (the item is classed as still belonging to the vendor). Then if and when you decide to uise the item in production, consume it from consignement stock and this will then trigger a debt to the vendor of the value of that item (from the consignment info record) and so you can then accept an invoice from the vendor or simply send them a payment by using consignmenmt settlement functionality.

Block purchase receipts for a material for a given period during MRP.
Hey all,
What is the most simple way to block delivery of a material for a specific period of time within a plant? I want to block a 3 month period, where no deliveries can be received, however I still want to run MRP during this time. I want MRP to build up stock prior to the 3 month period to cover any requirements/forecast during this period.
The solution has to be material specific, so I was thinking about using a planning calendar to only allow deliveries for that period at the beginning of the period, but my issue here is that planning calendars are set as transportable and I don't want to have to transport new calendars each time a material has this requirements, which is quite often.
Any ideas?
MarkThanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately this field only becomes relevant to MRP once the status becomes active. MRP does not consider the Valid From date when performing calculations. If the current date falls within the valid from date on the Material, then MRP will not run for that material. At this point it is too late. I need to be able to ramp stock levels up to still cater for demand during the period of unavailability.
Also, I need to be able to specify a period (to AND from) where I cannot receive the goods..... -

You may try this one:
SELECT Distinct T1.Code, SUM(T0.Quantity * T1.Quantity) 'PO Qty', T2.DocNum
FROM dbo.RDR1 T0
INNER JOIN dbo.OITT T3 ON T3.TreeType = 'S' AND T3.Code = T0.ItemCode
INNER JOIN dbo.ITT1 T1 ON T1.Father = T3.Code
INNER JOIN dbo.ORDR T2 ON T2.DocEntry = T0.DocEntry
WHERE T2.DocNum LIKE '[%0\]%'
GROUP BY T1.Code, T2.DocNum

To find purchasing organisation for material
Hi Experts,
Sounds quite a trivial query but i really could not find the way out to link material with purchasing organisation.
Please note that we do not want to use Puchasing Info record tables. This is so because requirement itself says automating the PIR creation process through ME11. and for that we need to filter out materials which have a specified Purchasing Organisation.
Now you may ask a question as to how Purchasing org is maintained on the very first place. This has been created via provision in ISR webform for creating material.
I hope i have made my query clear enough. Seeking your expert advise on the same.
Thanks,
ShreyaHi,
I think you can not find Purchase organization for a material as one maerial may come from multiple purchase organizations
(However it depends on the Buisness process) but you can find purchase ogranization with material and plant combination.
