PR to be closed if converted to PO

Hi,
If I convert a PR to a PO completely then why PR is not 'closed' automatically?
Means 'closed' indicator is not set automatically.
IS there any user exit to make this possible?
Please advice.
Thanks

Hi,
If auto PO from PR, then it set automatically or you can close the  PR ,Use ME52N -> quantities/dates TAB at item details->select the check  box of  Closed & save.
OR
Set the message no : 06 076 as Error in following path:
SPRO->Materials Management->Purchasing->Environment Data>Define Attributes of System Messages>system message
Now, when all the PR quantity already converts to PO, system will not allow to create a another PO from the same PR.

  • Endashes and quotes are not converted correctly when copying FM files by reference

I'm using FM7 in the TCS1 in a Windows XP environment. I am copying FM books by reference into my RH project.
I'm noticing that endashes (–) and quotation marks (") are not consistently coming across correctly in my RH project.  Instead, I am getting &endash; for the endash, and &rdquor: instead of a quote.  Note: it appears to be only the first quote that encloses text that doesn't convert; the closing quote converts.
    Any ideas?

I have RoboHelp 7 and the patches won't install unless I do a complete reinstall.  Since I'm at the end of a release, that will have to wait.

  • Microsoft Word 2007 - Clickable Hyperlinks in Headers/Footers

    Hi there,
I am in the process of creating a site document for a client and as it is in electronic format, I am using bookmarks and Hyperlinks to help readers navigate the document more easily.
The problem I am having at the moment is with the documents footer. Basically, I would like to have a clickable hyperlink at the bottom of each page that will return the user to the contents page when it is clicked.
Unfortunately though, I have not been able to work out how to this as the link is not clickable once the footer editor has been closed. Converting the document to PDF has not solved the problem either as the conversion removes the hyperlink completely.
Surely this functionality in a document is not uncommon? I have done a fair amount of web searching about this but have not come across any real solutions yet. Manually placing a test box with the link on each page is not an acceptable solution either
as this is a large document and will likely be edited/revised in the future.
Any help with this would be much appreciated :-)

I tried this but didnt work for mr. Can you help? How did you PDFed??
It works for me in Word 2010 (or later) using Save As PDF. It did not work in Word 2007 using the Adobe Acrobat PDF printer nor using Word 2007's save as pdf utility. (The hyperlink showed up but was not active.) It did work using the Acrobat tab in Word
    2007 (this requires Adobe Acrobat).
    I did this by:
first creating the text box with the hyperlink in the body of the document and moving it into the footer area (but still not in the footer itself).
Then I used the Format tab of Text Box Tools and the Postion button (More Layout Options).
I gave it an absolute vertical position relative to the page.
Then I cut the text box, went into the footer, and pasted it there.
It might have worked to just create the text box in the footer itself.
I personally prefer it that the header and footer are not part of the active page when I am typing. This hyperlink is not clickable in Word without going into the header/footer view and I'm fine with that. The QAT workaround is just fine.

  • Print out a column value only if another column has a specific value (CASE Statement)

    Hello all,
I tried many hours to find a solution for the following request but wasn't successful. Maybe you could help me.
I've using the already existing SQL Views in Microsoft Service Manager to do some basic reporting about my tickets. There is no closed date in the activity tickets so I decided to print out the lastmodified timestamp when the status is "closed".
    That's my query:
    SELECT DISTINCT
    dbo.DisplayStringView.DisplayName AS Status,
CASE WHEN dbo.DisplayStringView.DisplayName = 'Closed' THEN dbo.DisplayStringView.LastModified ELSE 'NO CLOSED Date' END AS ClosedDate
    FROM dbo.MTV_System$WorkItem$Activity$ManualActivity LEFT OUTER JOIN
    dbo.DisplayStringView ON dbo.MTV_System$WorkItem$Activity$ManualActivity.Status_8895EC8D_2CBF_0D9D_E8EC_524DEFA00014 = dbo.DisplayStringView.LTStringId
Unfortunatelly I'm not getting the value from dbo.DisplayStringView.LastModified. SQL outputs that it is not possible to convert the string to date/time.
I think there is a problem with the CASE statement in combination with a value select.
Any ideas how to print out a column value only if another column has a specific value?

I think it is the other way if you want the missing date shown as a string.
    CASE
    WHEN
    dbo.DisplayStringView.DisplayName
    =
    'Closed'
    THEN
    Convert( varchar(10),dbo.DisplayStringView.LastModified
    , 101) ELSE
    'NO CLOSED Date'
    END
    AS
    ClosedDate

  • Error message (14)

Error message:  "There was a problem reading this document (14)."
I had an pdf file open (File 1) while I was converting a WordPerfect file to pdf and the converted file froze up after it opened.  I closed it and converted another WP file to pdf and the same thing happened, but I had more trouble closing it and had to click on the X many times and got the message that it wanted to send an error report, and I said no.  During this process, somehow File 1 got closed.
I rebooted.  Same problem with the file conversions, so I reinstalled Abobe Acrobat Reader X.  I can access the converted files just fine; however the end of File 1 seems to be gone from the point where I was reading to the end.  The beginning of the file is just fine and I can scroll all the way down to where I was when I left it to do the other file conversions.
Is there a way I can retrieve the rest of this file or uncorrupt it?  What does the (14) at the end of the error message mean?
    Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your response, Pat.   I was able to use another pdf viewer to read the rest of my document.  I am so accustomed to reading pdf files with Adobe Acrobat Reader that it took me awhile to realize I had other alternatives.
I used Word Perfect to convert Word Perfect files to pdf format; however, the file that I was trying to read (File 1) was downloaded in pdf format, not converted.  I only mentioned the conversion of other files to pdf because I had trouble closing the converted pdf files while the file I wanted to read was open in the background, and thought that trouble was what corrupted File 1.  I ended up reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader X and have not had the freeze up problem since; however I still could not access the rest of File 1 with Adobe Acrobat after reinstalling Acrobat, but I was able to view the rest of the file with FreeFileViewer.  I don't think the file is corrupted since I was able to view it just fine with FreeFileViewer, so maybe I am still having problems with Acrobat.
For future reference, what do you recommend to fix corrupted pdf files?
Thank you.  I very much appreciate the online support.

  • Delaying folder action until file creation is complete

I'm trying to create a folder action that takes the output of a bounce from ProTools and then imports it into iTunes. The problem I'm having is that it takes real time (about 20 min) to create the complete ProTools file in the folder, however the script begins to execute immediately, before the bounce is complete. This gives me 1 second of audio garbage.
Is there any way to delay the folder action until the file creation (bounce, upload, transfer, whatever) is done?
    Thanks.

V.K. Thanks again for your help. When I look in my folder directory/library/scripts/folder action scripts, I see many scripts for images as well as scripts for closing subfolders, converting to pdf, open - show comments in dialog, and add - new item alert, however I don't see anything that was created recently (i.e. something that was created when I built my Automator workflow (folder action). The closest (to what I am looking for) Folder Action Script could find was "add - new item alert.scpt", which is an existing Apple written script, but this will not really help me. When I created my initial automator script, it created a folder and file and workflow in my homefolder/library/Workflows/Applications/Folder Actions/xxx.workflow, however I cannot open this workflow in applescript. I even tried changing the extension to .scpt. I'm not sure I can accomplish the desired result with Automator alone, but I don't think I am well versed enough in AppleScript. Thanks for your help.

  • Remove closed captions from H.264 file after converting?

I processed a video file in Compressor using the Blu-Ray settings, and included a reference to a closed captions file. I now need to use the file in another application (Adobe Encore), but the closed captions appear to be hard coded in.
Is that correct? Is there anyway to remove closed captions from a H.264 file after it has been converted with Compressor?
Please help   This is for a film festival, and I may not have time to process the video in Compressor again without the closed captions.
    Message was edited by: nicholas.he
Fixed question spelling from 'form' to 'from'.

    From the user manual:
"QuickTime files: Compressor adds the closed caption file as a closed caption track to the QuickTime output file."
The closed caption "track" can be turned on and off.  It is not burned into the screen, as is the CC standard.  Encore should handle the file just fine.  You should be able to tell the DVD to have Closed Captioning turned off by default.  That's all it takes.
Sub-Titles may be burned in to the screen.  If you did sub-titles, yes, you'll have to re-encoded from scratch without them.  When doing sub-titles in an DVD authoring program, you have the ability to enable and disable them, but in Compressor, they're burned in.

  • QT file with embedded closed captioning created in Premiere converted to MPEG2

  • Converting VHS to DVD with preserved closed captions

Can this be done via DV capture?
I'm trying to convert some of my old out of print VHS tapes to DVD, since they are obscure enough to probably never see an official DVD release. I figured firewire/DV would be perfect for the job because...well, my Mac already has that built-in. My intended workflow is to capture via DV using an ADS Pyro A/V Link analog->DV converter box (see tip below if you're trying something similar by the way).
Anyway, being the quasi-perfectionist that I am, I'd like to make as close a copy to the original as possible, preserving the closed captions. In researching this I've found that this data is stored in "line 21" which is normally not a viewable portion of the video signal, rather like metadata. I have read that DV does support this data in the "VAUX" data area, however before I even begin, I am concerned that any step of my intended workflow might not preserve this data (reencoding in the converter box, transferring into iMovie/FCP, reencoding onto DVD). I presume that any amount of editing to the captured video will hose the captions if they are preserved, but I'd only shorten the black padding at the beginning and ending of the program if anything, which I can't imagine would scramble it too bad.
I have read many suggestions of just manually transposing the CC text to subtitles instead, however since the DVD spec does support true closed captions, I figure it's gotta be possible somehow.
I'd like to be able to do this without purchasing a PCI capture card. And I'd also like to be able to do this without spending $6000 on a certain Mac captioning app (a ridiculous price for functionality which in my opinion should be free). I've seen some pretty cheap VCR+DVD combo standalone units on the market, but I'd like to think my Mac, as expensive as it was, will suffice.
Am I asking too much? Should I just give it a try to see if everything magically works? And if my current setup is not up to this task, what sort of setup would I need to realize my goal?
(Tip: By the way, if anyone is trying to convert VHS to DVD with a similar setup, be warned that the marketers of such analog->DV converter boxes generally don't mention that you'll also need a time base corrector (TBC) to do anything useful with less-than-perfect analog source video; I've found that without such a device, the video tends to drop frames like mad on rough spots of the source tape [I'm talking drops measured in seconds]. Too bad TBCs cost more than the converter box itself usually. Odd that those VCR+DVD combo boxes ostensibly must have a built-in TBC by definition, and yet often are cheaper than a standalone TBC...)
Power Mac G4 dual 867 Mirrored Drive Doors   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Ok well I tested it by going VCR->DV converter->iMovie->iDVD, and the closed captions were lost at some point. The tape does have closed captions when played in the VCR, and I know my DVD player displays closed captions properly (I tested a commercial disc both in the Mac and in a standalone DVD player and those showed captions), but the DVD I created doesn't display closed captions either in the Mac DVD Player or the standalone unit.
So...anyone think maybe importing into Final Cut Pro and burning with DVD Studio Pro would work better for this than iMovie? I imagine there would be no difference (since iDVD uses the same Compressor app as DVDSP).
So I guess I'm stuck. At this point I can't even use the DVD/VCR dub machine since it won't allow dubbing of copy-protected tapes (even though this tape will likely never see a DVD release and it's crappy VHS quality anyway and it's just for my own personal use as a backup)...any suggestions?

  • AA 1.5 convert to 16 bit upon closing?

In my AA 1.5, audio files open in 32 bit, which is what I want for processing. Is there a waay to cause them to convert to 16 bit upon closing?
    Thanks

No automated method, no. And neither should you do this if there's any chance at all that you will need to process them further, because you'd lose any benefit from the previous edits. For instance, if you'd put a nice clean reverb on the end of a file, and then saved it as 16 bit, you'd  throw out a lot of the detail in the reverb tail. Perhaps more significantly, if you left a file at a relatively low level and saved it as a 16-bit int, you'd lose loads of resolution and never be able to get it back again.
Once you've opened an original file as 32-bit and processed it, it should stay this way until it reaches your distribution format, ideally.

  • Is there any way to convert or export existing Captivate closed captioning to WebVTT format?

I'm converting my vast library of eLearning to video and uploading to Vimeo.  Vimeo recommends the WebVTT format.  I don't want to have to recreate a ton of existing CC using Vimeo's CC tools if I don't have to.  Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

There is no direct way. You have to export closed captions in CP to a Word doc and take it from there (probably copy-paste).

  • Converting Captivate 3 to 4 (EConvertError), Fixing Missing Item Name & Closed Captioning Freeze

This isn't a question, but I do want to share the information since I couldn't find anything on the topic and had to play with it for hours.
I had an old Captivate 3 file and needed to open it, intact, in Captivate 4. First I received the error: Exception EConvertError in module when I tried to open the file and clicked OK to save the file as a different name. Once I found a workaround and got my file up and running again, the Item Name fields were missing on all slides, and I therefore could not convert to a swf format. Once I figured out the workaround for this issue, I noticed the closed captioning in the swf file would only show the first frame, then it would freeze as the video played. The following instructions will help you with any of these issues:
If you still have Captivate 3 available and receive the EConvertError message when trying to save as a new file from Captivate 4:
    Open Captivate 3
    Turn OFF the LMN setting
    Resave in Captivate 3
    Open again in Captivate 4
If you only have Captivate 4 available and receive the EConvertError message when trying to save as a new file from Captivate 4::
Click OK when you receive the Exception EConvertError message
Locate the file and reopen it
    Tada!
If you have fixed the file and have it open successfully, but are missing the "Item Name" fields:
Double-click the first slide to open it
In the slideshow panel on the left, right-click on the first slide and selct Copy slide
Click on the first slide again and select Paste slide
The new slide will be inserted after the original
    Delete the original slide
Repeat these steps for each slide
This will put the Item Name back onto each slide element in the correct order
If you have fixed the file and have it open successfully, but the Closed Captioning (CC) is freezing on the first line of text in the swf file:
Create a new blank project with the target project file open as well
Look at all settings, i.e., skin color, closed captioning properties, etc and make sure they match in the blank presentation (you don't have to worry about the dimensions)
Go to the File menu, then Import, then Slides/Objects...
The Closed Captioning will work in the new file
    Perform a Save As

    Hi Katie
I wasn't trying to be condescending, I was genuinely confused by your instructions. I had no clue what you were referring to. We see this often here. Sometimes there is something to give us a clue as to what is being referred to. For example, folks regularly say they are having trouble with Text Boxes. This could mean Text Entry Boxes or it could mean Text Captions. So we might be able to intuit that they mean one or the other by the way they stated the issue. In your case there seemed to be no context upon which to draw the conclusion.
I apologize if I came off as being condescending, as it wasn't meant that way.
I think if you will take some time and read some of the posts I make you will come to the conclusion that I was only trying to be helpful.

  • How do I convert a MS Word doc into Closed Caption scc (or other) format?

I have already constructed a number of videos and we now want to add sub titles. I have the complete transcript on a word document.
I've seen all the videos on how to do it. But how do I get my content into Closed Caption formats so I can add them?
    Any help would be appreciated.

If you mean wanting to work with subtitle "Open Captions" , Premiere pro does not support subtitle Open Captions" right now.
If you are talking about adding "Closed Captions" -- you can add captions from scratch to your project using Premiere Pro. Go File-> New-> Captions and pick CEA-608, CEA-708, or Teletext, and off you go. Go here for more information:
Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Closed Captioning
If you have a lot of captions, I suggest you find a caption authoring solution from a 3rd party -- there are some free/ shareware ones out there. Look around the forums to see what other people are using to author closed captions.
    Good luck!

  • PSD to JPEG - Converts back after closing.....

Trying to convert photo from .psd to .jpeg.   I "flatten the layers" and "save as" jpeg......but as soon as i close out of image and then reopen it converts back to .psd???? Can anyone help?

Okay, so you are using some version of Photoshop Elements?
In PE Organizer find your file that you just saved and right-click on it. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of window that pops up and select "show properties." This will tell you what format it is. Also, when you "save as" make sure that you are including it in Organizer, otherwise you will not see it and will only find your .psd file. Alternatively, you could search for wherever it is saved on your hard drive and double-click it to open it.
