Bridge cs3 not letting me label with colors or rate with stars.

I can't rate with stars or label with colors anymore in bridge. I went into preferences to see if I had accidentally changed something but there was nothing different there. I redownloaded my software from adobe and had it correct problems but it didn't fix the problem. Anyone know why this is happening? It is quite annoying.

I am trying to find an image that was on the Photoshop 3 samples from the mid '90s. It was islands reflected in a still lake with stars making the islands look like they were floating.

How do I go about finding this image? I have the original PS 3 disk but it is to old to load the program now. It was an image of a lake with islands that appeared to be floating in the night sky as the stars were reflected in the still water.

Not at all familiar with Photoshop 3. Have you tried a Google search?

Issue with Star Ratings in Windows Media Player 12 on Win7

The particular issue I'm having is this. I can star rate my music a 1, 2, 3, or 4. However if I try to rate anyone particular song a 5 star Rating, it shows it as a 0 star rating. This is happening on my desktop system as well as my laptop. I never
had this problem before. And I'm not really sure when this problem started. Also, it shows 5 star rated songs a 0 star rating in explorer as well. Any help to figure out this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all who reply.

Will the issue occur with specific file type , specific file or all the file ?Have you tried to re-join the music to have a check ?
We can try the built-in troubleshoot tool to have a check :
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories\Windows Media Player Library ,Windows Media Player Settings

If the issue persists,we may need to reinstall the Windows Media Player to have check .

Can't label files in bridge, and problem with starred files

I'm working with CS3 on saving raw files to jpegs, and I usually organize them by 5 starring my favorites as well as labeling them, and just in the last 2 days Bridge has been acting up and won't label the files. Also, it will 5 star them, but only about a 1/4 of them show up in the filter as being starred. Any ideas? I already checked my access, and I can read and write to them.... the only thing I can think of is that I ran a few updates a day or two ago.... help! this is getting really frustrating and slowing down my workflow...

Smart folders seems not to work with star rating. Is there a fix?

I Rate photos with a five star rating either on iPhoto or Adobe Bridge CS5. When I create a smart folder setting the search attribute to "Rating equals 5" nothing appears on the search.

I think I misunderstood your question. You were talking about smart folders in the Finder and not about smart albums in iPhoto, right? "Rating equals 5" does not work on any of my machines, neither in Snow leopard nor in Lion. The problem seems to be how to represent the rating in the search string. If I search for "Rating is not 5" the smart folder contains plenty of pictures, also those with a rating of five. Does anyone know how the rating is coded to be used in a search string in the Finder?

Problem with "Starred" Message in Mailbox

I have an email in my mailbox, which is headed with the notation (0 Items) and a Subject Line below that, which is followed by YELLOW Star. I cannot do anything with this message--either open it or go to the Menu List and perform any other function about it. How to I delete it from my mail list--it probably was SPAM to begin with, but now it is just stuck there. Any help will be great. BP

To clarify, you can see this message in your folder yet when you go to delete it, are unable to do so?
Are you able to hit the DEL key on the message? If so, do you get any error?

Trouble with star schema

Hi All,
I have a star schema in place with 8 dimension and 1 fact table.
But due to some specific requirement, I need to denormalize the schema. I want to copy all fields from all dimension tables to the fact table.
I know this sounds bad but I have to do it. pls dont ask why..
Now, the same can be done using a materialized view but the problem in MV is there are fields which are present in 2 or more table with the same column name, due to which I cant create a MV.
Is there some other way to achieve this goal.

But now its raising performance problems.Your application had a performance problem. Somebody guessed that a star schema would solve the problem. But it hasn't. So now you intend to implement some spavined variant on star schema because somebody has suggested that complete de-normalisation might solve the problem.
Is this a demonstrable fact (you have benchmarks and explain plans to justify it) or just a guess?
I know how difficult this sort of thing can be, because I've been working through some similar scenario for a while now. The important thing is get some decent metrics on your application. Use statspack. Use the wait interface. Find out where your application is spending its time and figure out what you need to do to reduce the waits. Benchmark some alternatives. This may result in you having to re-write your code but at least you'll be doing so in the knowledge

Export to JPG with Star Rating

I am using LR4.2.
I have done it before while using LR3 - when exporting to JPEG, I like to include the star rating with those JPEG for easy sorting down the line (after finishing the photo in Photoshop). However, it seems like with LR4, something changed and now my star ratings no longer get exported when creating JPEGs. Is there a way to get that back? I have selected the option to include all metadata when exporting already.

When trying to create jpg or png files, there is no "Save as Copy" option, only "Export". I'm having the same issue with a script to output multiple formats. It will export jpg and png but the png file overwrites the jpg file because they don't have visible extensions.

Trouble with Star Chart(s)

I have loaded both the Google Sky Map and Star Chart. I've used both of these successfully with a Thunderbolt and a Droid (One) - but with the Razr the azimuth does not change when the phone is re-oriented. Elevation appears to work, but the azimuth moves randomly when the phone is turned from - say - north to east. It would appear that the compass orientation function is off.
Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issues...tried multiple apps, uninstalling and reinstalling each of them, seeing they were the problem, but when they all react the same way it can only be the phone. The most ironic thing is that "space junk" actually appears to show my phone oriented in the correct wa y(has a separate view option for this) that makes the app appear that it should work properly and moves correctly according to the satellites. Yet as you rotate from north to west/east/etc...the phone lags then all of the sudden skips almost 180 degrees. Would love for them to fix this bug, works fine on all my other friends' droid phones, just not this one.

Want to transfer images RAW&Previews with star ratings & alterations

Used someone elses computer to clean up a host of pictured from a holiday. I now want to export/import or otherwise transfer them to our own Mac and Aperture Library. I tried Exporting and Exporting but loose the alterations made and star ratings. Anyone know how I should do this to avoid losing the changes made?

PS. Just in case this matters, not using AP 3 yet on either Mac.

Apologies... Just for the record, I was wrong... I just had another look and the pictures were in fact correctly imported with the star rating and changes... I think I could not see that possibly because the previes (?) had not been created or so... that is the bit I still do not understand.
Bottom line it worked - I just didn't realise it.

I don't need to select all and loop thru and filter it out

Graphics card drivers problem with star craft 2!!!! ah!

I have a problem with my new laptop (a Compaq Presario CQ62z-200cto) that I bought for star craft II and I was hoping you guys could help.
This is my computer’s stats. They surpass the recommended settings for Star craft 2 by a little bit.
2.8 ghz phenom dual core
2gs ddr3 ram
Ati radeon mobility hd 545v (yes, this card is better than the recommend 3870)
When I first turned on star craft it said:
“Your video card drivers are out of date” and “Starcraft II does not recognize your graphics card”
In addition to this Starcraft II runs relatively poorly. I’m not sure how well it’s supposed to run, but it’s a laggy even on low-ish settings. I tried to get new drivers from ATI, but they said that if you have a laptop you should get drivers from the manufacturers, not ATI (because HP makes the specific drivers for the computer). ATI supposedly only has “generic” drivers for laptops or something like that. So ,I have to get the latest drivers from hp, which I already have (they were made in April…shesh).
So, I’m stumped it seems like the drivers are holding me back even though I have the hardware for the job, but the drivers I need don’t exist.
Any ideas? Anyone else have this problem?

The "graphics card" on an iMac is built into the motherboard. Therefore the only updates would be through an Apple firmware update.

Map progress with stars per lesson. How to store/request stats sql

The massive SQL request for the map is for loading the progress, not for the image. I store for every lesson result (1-3 stars). Lets say the player completed all (10) lessons of a map. To show the map with its stars, I would have to request point the highest score for each map. Not sure now if this can be done in only one SQL call. Have to check this.
Another way of doing it is storing all needed data (number of stars for each map point) in a JSON encoded string to the database. So it’s just one request. But useless for statistics, so it’s still necessary to write each lesson to “results”.
Shouldn't I just keep those stats locally so I don't have to request them from the server every time?

Well, been reading and mysql can handle billions of rows. So I think I read that there is some slow down in the chain
AIR - browser(php) - mysql - broswer - AIR
I know mysql processes damn fast so somewhere in that chain things are getting slowed down. I read somewhere that stored procedures in the mysql db help as they are already compiled and you can also execute various commands with one sql call. Also, helps against sql injection.
Is that right??? and where might the "slow down" come from?

I too ws getting this icon on my notification bar bt when I ws clicking on this,nothing ws opening up...
Solution- open "messages"(not the text messages) n there u will find a notification of some application wth the same star sign(in my case it ws tarrot card reader for BB),jst click on tht and if u dnt want tht App installed then jst close it...the star sign will be gone...
