PRA toolbar for MSP 2010

I downloaded PRA yesterday and followed the PRA tutorials to learn how to use the tool. I have problem to create PRA toolbar for MSP 2010, following the instruction in the tutorial. Unfortunately, the PRA toolbar was not created properly by the steps laid out in the tutorial. Has anyone gotten this issue and know how to insert the PRA toolbar for MSP 2010?
Thanks for any helps, hints, or suggestions.
Khoivu

Prasanna,
I have checked PDF document and the steps to add Toolbars are different than what you listed here:
1. Open PRA
2. Go to File menu, the go to MS Project
3. Click on the menu item Add Toolbars and views to MS Project
4. If successful, MS Project will be opened and the PRA toolbar will be appear.
The document mentioned that in order for PRA to add toolbar and views to MS Project, we must have write privilege to the file Global.mpt.
I am administrator so I do have write privilege to the file global.mpt. After I added MS Toolbar from PRA, PRA displays a dialog with successful message, but MS Project application is not run or opened. When I open MS Project, I got no PRA toolbar.
Do you have any idea what is going on?

  • How to create an Add-In for a macro in MSP 2010

I currently have many macros in Microsoft Project 2003 that are assigned to buttons on the toolbar.  I want to transfer these macros and buttons (own created images) onto the MSP 2010 Ribbon.  I am told the way to do that is to create an Add-In
in Visual Studio and add the user defined image for the button in.
I am very new to Visual Studio 2010 but I have managed to create a user defined image for my button and add it into the ribbon.  I have just created a simple callback routine that displays a message box when the button is selected - that all works fine.
But when I try to add all my original code for the macro into the callback for this button in Visual Studio 2010 it won't compile because there are numerous references to MSP objects in it.  I have added "Import MSProject = Microsoft.Office.Interop.MSProject"
at the top and put "MSProject." in front of the MSP objects, but there are still loads of errors.  Am I missing somthing?  Is this not how to develp Add-Ins?  Any help would be gratefull received.

    Hi Hilary,
I am moving this thread from Base VSTO forum to the Project forum, since the issue is related to Project customization. There are more Project experts in the Project forum.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • MSPS 2010 Issue and Risks Alerts

    All,
We are using MSPS 2010 with June CU Update.
Is there a way to turn on "automatic Alerts" to the "Assigned To" person when an issue/risk is assigned to that person on a Project Site?
I know this was not possible in Project 2007, and the options were
users sets an alert by choosing "Alert Me" (this seems to be taken away in 2010)
Set a workflow for each Issues List/Risks List to send emails.
Is Option 1 available in MSPS 2010?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello Prasanna,
Another option is from the Risk or Issue workspace page, under the "Actions", you can enable "Alert Me".  Once there, you can specify what kind and how you want alerts to occur.

  • How to modify the timescale on the Timeline view in MSP 2010

I created Timeline's for some projects using MSP 2010.  Some Tinelines display quarters and others display months.  I can't find an option to change the Timeline timescale.  I tried switching the timescale onthe Gantt view but it
had no effect on the Timeline view.
Is there a direct or indirect way to change the timescale units on the Tineline view time scale?

Click in  the Timeline view and the ribbon bar for Timeline will be activated.  On the left side you should see Date Format.  Use this to select the date format you would like to view.
As i adjust the timescale using the zoom in the lower right corner it seems to be adjusting the date density.  Keep in mind that this view will also adjust to the density necessary to show the entire project in the view.  When you click on the
View tab (ribbon) you can use the option for the entire project.  Note that the Timescale options are not available.
I suggest for the best use of this view to use it at a high level.  What I recommend is to show summary and milestone taaks only.

  • Add-in for Access 2010/2013 with Visual Studio 2012 (2013 Preview)

    Hello!
Am i right: Microsoft wants to kill Access in favor of Azure/SQL stuff?
I was unable to find any Projects in Visual Studio 2012/2013 to create an Addon for Access 2010 or 2013 (only Word, Excel, Outlook).
    There is even no Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access.ApplicationFactory
to install add-in to Access App.
    Any solutions for VS 2012?
Or i should use outdated Shared Add-in with VS 2010?
    Thank you!

    Sorry Donald M from Microsoft,
You need to rethink that response.  IDTExtensibility2 is an outdated Office 2003 technology.
Everything EXCEPT the ThisAddIn.designer.cs reference to ApplicationFactory _factory compiles when you switch references in another Office application's VSTO project template to msaccess and dao libraries.  Even the Access icon shows up in Visual
Studio 2013.  The only reason a Ribbon.xml project will not load into Access is that Microsoft hasn't provided the Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access DLL for it.  If you leave the Factory reference pointing to global::Microsoft.Office.Tools.Factory,
the add-in compiles but will not load.
MICROSOFT: Please provide us the missing Factories for MSAccess and OneNote.

We noticed exactly the same issue after applying some SharePoint updates (SP1 + October 2011 CU).  The problem turned out to be that there was an older version (V14.0.4762.1000) of Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll in the GAC.
This version was being loaded instead of the latest version of the DLL (14.0.6112.5000).
Loading the latest version of Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll fixed the problem with the List/Library settings page.
I check our Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll and found that we have version 14.0.6024.1000.
I would like to try replacing it with the latest version to see if that could fix the problem going into library settings.
Does someone know where I can get the latest Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll for SharePoint 2010?
    David

You would need to extract it from an update. Pre-SP2 SharePoint 2010 is no longer supported, I'd recommend upgrading to SP2 which should take care of any versioning issues.

I want to add items to the bookmarks toolbar. for example: the Zoom Toolbar addon. This works, but not only the favicons appear on the bookmarks toolbar, aswell as the underlined text. How to avoid this?
I only want the favicons from an addon to appear on the bookmarks toolbar, not with the underlined text. How to do this?
This problem doesn't happen with any other toolbar. And this problem didn't happen with an earlier version of firefox. Please Help!
    Thanx, BassMann.

If you only want the favicons and not the names of the bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar, you can do that with the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4072/ Smart Bookmarks Bar] add-on.

  • Crystal for VS 2010 - formatting issues in viewer (extra space) again

We're having the same problem as the one in this thread link:[Crystal 2008 for VS 2010 - Report formatting issues in viewer (extra space);. There's no resolution in the thread and it's been closed. I'm hoping that creating a new thread may cause someone to answer this problem.
We have a Windows App that we just converted to .NET 4.0 and updated the viewer to the Crystal Reports Viewer in VS 2010. When we open a report that has a large block of static text in paragraphs left-aligned the spacing around punctuation is awful - there's almost a tab's worth of space between the last letter and the period. U.S. looks like US. This happens both with reports that were created in VS2008 and ones that were created in VS2010. It is only a problem in the viewer's display - if we print to a printer or export to PDF the spacing around punctuation is fine. It's also not a problem on our development workstations which are running Windows 7, but is a problem on our test servers which are running Windows 2003 Server. I ran the modules tool and found that the version of usp10.dll does match what the previous thread said it should be and it's coming from the c:\program files\sap businessobjects\crystal reports for .net framework 4.0\common\sap businessobjects enterprise xi 4.0\win32_x86\ folder. On my development machine when I run the modules tool I notice that a second instance of usp10.dll is called which is the version installed with Windows 7. We've tried changing fonts but none of the ones we've tried (originally in Times New Roman, 12, tried Arial, Times and various sizes) have made a difference. We also tried changing the print options with no improvement. The only thing that makes it slightly better is full-alignment but our customer insists that it be left-aligned.

Re. the other thread. I never did receive a sample of the report to test with. Perhaps I can get one from you? I need you to ensure that the issue occurs with a "saved data" report. If it does, let me know if you can share it and I'll contact you via email. My comment in the other thread re. available time, priorities, etc., still applies. Also, just to be clear. Service Pack 2 for CRVS2010 is closed now. Thus if I am able to reproduce the issue the fix will be targeted for October \ November time frame - no guarantees though...

  • PDF File not opening in browser for sharepoint 2010

Recently we have moved our web application from one server to another in Sharepoint 2010. Back up of entire web application was taken and restored in another server. But in the new server , the PDF files in the document library is not getting opened in browser.
    it always open in browser
I have already made following changes but didn,t work
Set browser file handling to Permissive from central admin
Set "open in browser" in setting s of doc library
Set the doc library file handling property using $docLib = $web.lists["Your Document Library Title"] $docLib.BrowserFileHandling = "Permissive" $docLib.Update()
    Added "AllowedInlineDownloadedMimeType.Add("Application/Pdf") in web app
Installed Adober eader in client machine
Even after trying all these, the PDF files are still opening in Client application(Adobe reader) but not in the browser
It would have been great help if anybody provide a solution for this. I have been banging head on this for two days

It would be handy if you didn't double post too.

To answer your question, you've tried most things that I normally see working, but there may be an extra solution here for you.  The solution 2 Powershell that deals with updating the Inline MimeType may help.

  • How to set default website for exchange 2010

I'm unable to launch the Exchange Management Console, and then I read that it's necessary to set the default web site in a particular way, in order for Exchange 2010 Management Console to work:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchange2010/thread/4d396628-3867-4c95-9541-e0eb021e0135
However, after setting up Sharepoint, I see that it has modified the default website, and I'd like to ask for specific settings on how the default web site bindings should look (for exchange). Could someone please advise what I need to do to correct it?
I'm having trouble interpreting what Mike Crowley recommends in the linked post above, in terms of actual steps to the site binding information (which won't mess up what exists).
    Currently it says:
Type           port         ip address        binding information
    net.tcp
    808:*
    net.pipe
    net.msmq                                         localhost
    msmq.formatname                            localhost
    http            80             127.0.0.1
    https          443            *
    http           80              *
    https          443            127.0.0.1
It seems the line for http on port 80 is *, which I guess is equivalent to 'all unassigned'. Is the previous http port 80 binding to 127.0.0.1 causing the problem?
But I'm also supposed to set a Powershell VDir in IIS. Can someone provide steps for that?

    Regarding SharePoint on Exchange:
It was not allowed earlier, as documented here:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-portal-server-it/coexistence-and-interoperability-guide-for-sharepoint-products-and-technologies-HA001160777.aspx & here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825505 but there doesn't seem to be anything more recent than this.  I would work under the assumption it is not supported outside of
SBS 2011 (which I am not very familiar
    with).
