Practical problem in oil industry

Hi,
We are facing one practical problem in oil industry.
We are using base oil as a raw material. After adding additives to the base oil it will become semifinish material.
This semifinish material will become finish material when it is packed in packing material like drum, bottles of different sizes, i.e., same semifinished material will become different finish material depending on packing material.
Drums are used to sell to the customer as well as used to store in case there is no order. Bottles are used to sell only.
If in case of shortage of semifinish material in the process (which happens practically), they are transferring the oil from drum to bottles to fulfil the requirement. There is no specific period of transfer. This may happen in this month or after six month. In this case the drum will become empty and reused.
In SAP point of view this drum need to go back to storage location.
Pls tell me how to map this requirement.
Regards,
Rajesh

Rajesh,
In your case say for example unpacking the material from drum and repacking to bottles, this can be through a Process order/Production order which ever you are using and you can use a specific order say for example ZP01.
Here you can have a BOM with Finished material number(oil in drum) as a Input component along with bottle and other packing materials as required, you also need to add drum in negative quantity in the bom, so that you can recieve back the drum as bi-product. Use a routing/reciepe to capture your operation cost on pumping out oil from drum and filling the bottles. Have this combination as Production Version. Configure the order type paramters in COR4/OPL8 to have Production version selection manual. This means when you create an order, you can manually select the production version which is meant for unpacking and repacking.
Hope this helps...

Prasobh

  • FICO implementation in an oil industry

    Hi everyone,
                      I want to know the experience of anyone who has done FICO implementation in an oil industry. Please give me a detailed scenario of why and what all was done in the project. I will deeply appreciate your help and reward points suitably.
    Thanks
    Chandan

    Hi Chandan,
    For the FI and CO cost center accounting/ internal orders is for 80% the same in all branches. When you have accounting background it should be no problem.
    It is more difficult to work for different countries. Like VAT, payments, local accounting rules.

  • SAP Best Practice: Problems with Loading of Transaction Data

    Hi!
    I am about to implement SAP Best Practices scenario "B34: Accounts Receivable Analysis".
    Therefore I load the data from SAP ERP IDES system into SAP NetWeaver 2004s system.
    My problems are:
    when I try to load the Transaction data for Infosources 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_AR_6 I get the following errors/warnings:
    when I start the "schedule process" the status getting still "yellow 14:27: 31(194 from 0 records)"
    On the right side I see some actions that are also "yellow", e.g. "DataStore Activation (Change Lo ): not yet activated".
    As a result I cannot see any data in tcode "RSRT" executing the queries "0FIAR_C03/...".
    The problems there
    1) Input help of the web template of query don't contain any values
    2) no data will be shown
    Can some one help me to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!
    Jürgen

    Be in the monitor window where u got the below issue
    when I start the "schedule process" the status getting still "yellow 14:27: 31(194 from 0 records)"
    and go to environment in the menu options TransactRFC--->in the sourcesystem...
    give the logon details and enter and from there give the correct target destination as ur BI server and execute...
    if u find some idoc's pending there push that manually using F6..
    and come back to ur load and refresh....
    if still it doen't turn green u can manully change status to red in STATUS tab and come to processing tab and expand ur processing details and right click on ur data packet which was not yet updated and select manual update...
    it shows busy status and when it comes out of that once again refresh...

    Thenna................

    Hi Rajiv,
    Stream is determined by the flow of material.
    UpStream :- In Oil and Gas industry initial investment is very high for locating the source for crude oil and then getting the permission for the government of the country where that source lies and then extraction of the oil. a company all along can not bear that expanse so it involves big join ventures ... and in this if you notice then the material (crude oil) is following up .. i.e. from underground source to refineries .. this is called up streams and this covers join venture accounting, and all the finance related stuffs. for more detail on this check out this link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_oil472/helpdata/en/ec/9d2c3adcc8431be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    Downstream :- This includes the refinement, storage, transportation, measurement and retail of final oil and gas product ......
    In existing core R/3 sales and distribution a lot of changes has been done for down stream oil and gas functionality. for more detail in this please check out this link :

  • Problems with Oil Paint Filter

    I'm having problems with the oil paint filter in CS6. It runs and looks fine while in the filter, but once I commit the changes and go back to Photoshop, there are one to three bright squares of fluorescent green (sometimes pink, I think) overlaying parts of my image. I have a Radeon 7450 graphics card and Windows 8. Have drawing mode set to basic because of the flickering issues.

    this is a new computer, so this is the only video card that has ever been in it that I am away of.

  • Best Practice Problems

    Trying to be a good developer :) and so i read many articles on the best way to do things and try to adopt these in my developments.
    For my recent JSF developments this has included dropping JSTL and trying to implement everything in 'pure JSF' way.
    And from a HTML point of view, this has meant styling using CSS, and not resorting to complex tables to create layout, but again using CSS to create the layout.
    This is where i have my problems.
    I have some content like
         <div class="row">
         <span class="rightj15">
         <h:outputText value="User name:"/>
         </span>
         <span class="leftj2">
         <h:inputText id="username" value="#{userDetailsBean.user.displayName}" disabled="true" styleClass="inputfield"/>
         </span>
         <span class="leftj3">
         <h:message for="username" errorClass="errorMessage"/>
         </span>
         </div>
    This is one 'row' of output which is styled and layed out nicely. Other rows are also displayed showing other things.
    The problem is that some rows are conditional, i.e. only should be displayed for certain types.
    I can control the rows with a panelGgroup,
         <h:panelGroup rendered="#{userDetailsBean.user.displayName}">
         <div class="row">
         <span class="rightj15">
         <h:outputText value="User name:"/>
         </span>
         <span class="leftj2">
         <h:inputText id="username" value="#{userDetailsBean.user.displayName}" disabled="true" styleClass="inputfield"/>
         </span>
         <span class="leftj3">
         <h:message for="username" errorClass="errorMessage"/>
         </span>
         </div>
         </h:panelGroup>
    The problem here is that although the panelGroup means that the content is not rendered, the layout is still present (in terms of the divs and spans). This is a problem because it means i get a blank row when the page is displayed in the browser.
    The only way i can currently see to get round this is to either..
    a) Use <c:if> to do the conditional rendering, loose my pure JSF solution, and i have to make sure my backing beans are already created etc. etc.
    b) Drop my CSS layout and use tables instead.
    Does anybody have any other ideas?

    Well, i tried what you suggested, but this didn't help, just screwed up the layout.
    As i understand it, f:verbatim is used to encapulate non jsf template and action elements...

  • Problem with Extracting Industry CodeTexts  for BP

    Hello!
      Can any body help me by explaining  how to extract the Industy codes 0ind_code master data from CRM. There is a datasourse  0BP_IND_CODE_TEXT ,but this datasource has an another filed named Industry system which i dont require in my masterdata but it is a must required field in the above specified datasourse. we dont maintain any data regarding industry systems in our crm system.
      I tried to test this datasourse in rsa6 in source system CRM but this wont show any data. Can anyone help me how to extract  this masterdata from crm system.
    Tanking you.
    with regards
    ashwin

    Hi Ashwin,
    You can try the following:
    In RSA6, change the data source and remove the selection check mark for ISTYPE. If this does not work then take a look into table ROOSFIELD with your datasource. ISTYPE has a value of M in the column properties of data sourec field, you can change this to X.
    I have not tried this out, but hope it helps...

  • Practical problem :Operating unit

    Hi Everybody,
    We are implementing oracle receivables in our co., the query is, a credit limit is set for a customer. how does the system check the credit limit if he is transacting with different operating units of our company. There is no cerdit set at site, so there is a possibilty of the customer bypassing the credit limit set to him.
    How do we solve this or is there a feature i havent gone thru ?
    Kindly reply.
    regards
    Abdullah

    Suppliers are across all Operating Units so you see the same set across Operating Units.
    Supplier Sites are partitioned by Operating Unit.

  • Exchange Agreement in Oil industry achieved through SAP?

    Hi,
    Can somebody please ellaborate on the how the exchange agreement process is acheived in SAP?
    Steps with transactions would be helpful. Are there multiple scenarions for the same?
    Thanks in adavance!
    Regards

    Hello ,
    Hope the Information Below will clear - THE     BUILDING EXCHANGE AGREEMENT IN SAP...
         Following points should be noted while creating exchanges in SAP,
    1.     Enter the exchange agreement in SAP (Tcode O3A1--- Create exchange agreement). The SAP exchange agreement consists of an exchange header, one or multiple sales contracts and one or multiple purchase contracts. Exchange agreement has to have both Purchase and Sales contracts. The movement type could be bulk or Rack.
    2.     The first piece is the exchange header. The exchange header is the agreement number for the contract. The header is what links the exchange receipts and exchange deliveries pieces together
    3.     The exchange header tells the system whether the agreement is a buy/sell, Terminaling or exchange
    4.     The header also has some administrative data like the start and end dates for the agreement
    5.     The second piece is the sales contract(s). The sales contract looks like a normal SAP sales contract and stores the exchange delivery terms of the agreement. Again, the exchange delivery is the product that Chevron is giving to the partner
    6.     The design calls for one sales/purchase contract for each rack location on the agreement. All bulk locations will be on the same contract
    7.     The sales contract contains information such as the materials to be delivered, the mode of transportation, locations to deliver from, pricing data
    8.     This would include creating the condition records which is a transaction code outside of the create contract transaction (Tcode for creating Sales Condition is VK11, use appropriate key combination)
    9.     The third piece is the purchase contract(s). The purchase contract looks like a normal SAP purchase contract and stores the exchange receipt terms of the agreement. Again, the exchange receipt is the product that Chevron is getting from the partner
    10.     The purchase contract contains information such as the materials to be received, the mode of transportation, locations to receive from, and pricing data
    11.     This would include creating the condition records which is a transaction code outside of the create contract transaction (Tcode for creating Purchase condition is MEK1, use appropriate key combination)
    12.     In order for the differentials to calculate properly the condition types need to be entered on the sales and purchase contracts
    13.     When creating the sales and purchase contracts make sure that the condition records are being recognized and pulled into the documents
    14.     Process orders in SAP.
    Thanks,
    Amit c kulkarni.

  • Provides() and conflicts(), a practical problem

    Hello everybody,
    I have some questions about the provides() and conflicts() fields of some packages.
    Here are 2 packages I put on AUR recently: eo-snapshot, eo-cvs
    I am thinking of removing eo-snapshot but it can be good to keep it for people who don't have access to CVS.
    In this case eo-snapshot and eo-cvs will conflict. Once a new, working, stable version of eo will be out, I (or anybody) will probably make a package (called eo).
    So I am thinking of using the fields provides=('eo') for both packages, and conflicts=('eo-snapshot') or ('eo-cvs')
    Is it the right thing to do ?
    An other question about other packages: galib, libge.
    libge can use galib if it is compiled with galib support, so should I make a libge-galib version (with galib in makedepends) or put a comment somewhere (where) that asks the user to install galib before building libge to enable the galib support ?
    An other one:
    eo-cvs(or eo-snapshot) and galib both provide a /usr/lib/libga.a file, so they conflict with one another. Is there any workaround to install both?

    I've been meaning to get back to you on this since our other thread - sorry for the delay.
    marmotte wrote:So I am thinking of using the fields provides=('eo') for both packages, and conflicts=('eo-snapshot') or ('eo-cvs')

    Yeah, that sounds good.
    marmotte wrote:An other question about other packages: galib, libge.

    Don't make two packages - that's messy. Put the details above in an AUR comment when you submit the PKGBUILD.

    I don't know anything about these packages, so the following advice is basic file conflict stuff, but libga.a looks like it belongs in galib, not eo. Could you delete it from eo, and make eo depend on galib?
