PRE 9: Application Error

I am a High School teacher at the local High School.  One of the classes I teach is Video Production.  I am trying to use premiere elements 9 but keep getting the following errors.  Any help is appreciated.
Premiere Elements.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c9505a3
" referenced memory at "0x6f900834". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program
I get this error sometimes as soon as I open the program and sometimes it will run for a while before giving me the error.
Premiere is loaded on the local HDD but because of profile restrictions the students in my class are saving the projects to a network drive and are also using the network drive as a scratch disk.  I know this isn't preferred but for now is required.

Some suggestions:
Ask one of your IT engineers to come and run the program for you as Administrator. Test to see if the problem is permissions related.
While he's there have the scratch disks pointed at the local HDD. Test to see if the problem is network related.
Also while he's there have him go through these basics for you:
Install all Windows Updates.
Install latest version of Apple QuickTime (v7.6.8 at time of writing). Even if you don't use QuickTime, PRE relies heavily on it.
Install most recent graphics and sound drivers from the manufacturers web sites.
Run Disk Cleanup.
Run Defragmenter.
Temporarily disable any anti-virus realtime scanning. If the engineer baulks at this disconnect the PC from the network until you complete the test. He can re-enable before reconnecting to the network.
Test to see if the problems have gone away. If they haven't then we'll need to know more about your PC, clips and project presets.
Use the GSpot Codec Information Utility to analyse the file and post screen image.
Post back here with the necessary information described here: Got a Problem? How to Get Started

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you accessed SharePoint site through form based authentication.
    How did you configure the form based authentication?
    Here is a link about the steps required to configure FBA in SharePoint 2010 for your reference, and check the steps to see if there anything wrong in your configuration:
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/352841/How-to-Configure-Form-Based-Authentication-FBA-in
    Through the common error message, we cannot find what exactly caused the error.
    Here is a similar thread for you to take a look:

    Best regards.

  • Email Application Error ?!?!?!

    Help - I have my Pre set up through both Yahoo & Cox email accounts. My Cox email account doesn't seem to be sending emails (receives just fine) and that's where my problem began. I tried to reply to an email and it obviously didn't go through so I received an "Email Application Error" in regards to this email. I've have since deleted the the email from the Outbox and both the Outbox and the Sent folders are empty but... I am still getting the error message and I have no idea how to stop the error message from popping up. Please Help!!
    Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

    Greetings and welcome to Palm Forums
    if you are still getting the error delete the email account from the pre, restart the device then add the email account back in if the origional settings do not work try this:
    Cox Communications blocks outgoing unsecured IMAP communications that take place using Port 25. To avoid this issue and to ensure secured email, enable SSL on Port 465 and server authentication in your email client.
    So  set up for incoming is same as home:
    mail type: POP
    pop.east.cox.net
    user name
    password
    port #110
    no encryption
    outgoing
    smtp.east.cox.net
    Use Authentication-OFF
    username
    password
    port # 465
    turn on SSL encryption
    good luck

  • HTTP 500 internal Server ERROR, Application error occurred ...

    Hello Friends,<br/>
    i'm facing a suspictious problem and hope, one of you can help me. When i try to connect to J2EE-Startpage http://<server>:50000 or http://<server>:8000 i get the following Error<br/><br/>

    What happened before:<br/>
    I applied the J2EE-Part of EHP4 Upgrade with JSPM to the Java-Stack. Deployment has finished without any errors.<br/>
    <br/>
    Situation:<br/>
    Java-Stack is running and connected per SAPJSF to ABAP-Stack. Processes in SAPMMC are green. Java-Stack is allocating it's memory (about 1.5 GB) as i can see in Taskmanager and sysinternal`s processxplorer. I set Java-Parameter corresponding to note 723909 (696410, 716604) and upgraded JDK to latest version (1.4.2_26). Starting and stopping the Java-Stack with transaction SMICM works as it should. Even the Webservices for 3'rd Party-Applications supplied by the java-stack are working. Deployed Components in Service "Deploy" in VisualAdmin -> Server_0 are OK and connection to DB is up. Reboot of server doesn't help in this case. Anything seem's to be fine except i'm not able to access J2EE-Applications per Webbrowser, not on the werver itself by using localhost, nor by using fqdn on my client workstation. System: w2K3 x32Bit, MaxDB 7.7.07 Build 16, SUN JDK 1.4.2_26<br/>

    Hi Shitij,
    thank you very much for your advice and sorry for beeing so late.<br/>
    You're absolutely right. there are some error's i've to look for. <br/>
    The confusing thing is, that the tracefiles DefaultTrace.&lt;NO&gt;.trc are filled up in about 5 seconds with 10 MB Stuff. In our productive Environment, this is not the case. Below, i attached the last lines from DefaultTrace.1.trc where i tried to connect to the webaccess. By the Way, there's an DB-connect error, even  though there are some SAPEC6DB sessions in DBM-Gui. Probably i've to raise up the numbers of maximum connections in VisualAdmin.DB-session  usage in DMB-gui is 53%. I will post DM-Connection error from DefaultTrace.&lt;NO&gt; in next Post.

  • How to raise application error and preserve open cursor...

    Hello,
    I have to raise an application error under certain circumstances.
    In some cases there's an open cursor that has to be read by the calling application anyway because there are data that have to be read.
    In other cases the cursor does not have to be read.
    sample code:
    create or replace procedure get_address(
    pv_street varchar2,
    pv_number varchar2,
    pr_retid in out number,
    pr_refcurs in out get_streetpkg.t_refcurs )
    v_rowcount number;
    v_no_suiting_number boolean := false;
    begin
    delete temp_addr;
    -- get suiting rows
    insert into temp_addr
    select * from addr
    where street like pv_street
    and number like pv_number;
    v_rowcount := sql%rowcount;
    -- if no suiting row found then get all
    -- suiting streets regardless of number
    if v_rowcount = 0 then
    v_no_suiting_number := true;
    insert into temp_addr
    select * from addr
    where street like pv_street;
    end if;
    -- check whether data has been found
    select count(*)
    into v_rowcount
    from temp_addr;
    -- set return id if only one row is found.
    if v_rowcount = 1 then
    select id from temp_addr
    into pr_retid;
    end if;
    -- open cursor to provide data
    open pr_refcurs for
    select * from temp_addr;
    -- generate error - if no data found at all
    -- no data has to be read...
    if v_rowcount = 0 then
    raise_application_error( -20001, 'no data found' );
    end if;
    -- generate error - or better notification - message if no number found...
    -- SELECTED ROWS HAVE TO BE READ ANYWAY!!!
    if v_no_suiting_number then
    raise_application_error( -20002, 'streets found, but no suiting number' );
    end if;
    return;
    end;
    Prerequisites:
    - The calling application reads the open cursor and closes it.
    - The application cannot provide additional arguments and the stored proc cannot be converted into a stored func.
    - I cannot put the procedure into a package.
    - The application has to get information about success or failure (and reason of failure) through provided error numbers (-20999..-20000).
    Whenever the error is raised and pr_retid was set, retid is not set in the application, neither is the cursor.
    So what can I do to provide return ID and row data???
    Hope anyone can help me.
    Greetings, Heiko Kaschube

    Sorry, I didn't read your list of pre-requisites carefully enough. Your problem is that prerequiste #4 (return Application Error number) is in flat contradiction with prerequisite #1 (calling application continues processing).
    To restate: RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR means "the called program has encountered a problem so please cease processing and handle the error". Using RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR prevents the calling program doing any more processing: control goes to the EXCEPTION handler. Therefore RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR should only be used for abnormal processing conditions.
    I fail to see why you want to use RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR to handle a situation which is quite obviously not an application error: your called program has found some data that you want to process.

  • Application error and shut down

    Win XP, SP3, Intel 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz, 1 GB RAM, PreE 7
    I am in the middle of creating a slideshow with the 1st half having still shots, using titles.  All seemed fine.  Added several mpg videos, all seemed fine. However, now I am adding titles in between the videos and I keep getting the following error.
    Adobe Premiere Elements has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. I chose not to send the report to Microsoft.
    Adobe Premiere Elements.exe  Application Error
    The exception unknown software exception 0xc000000d occurred in the application at location 0x78138aa0.  Click ok to terminate the program.
    If I try to add a new title, it shuts down right away.  However, I was able to copy and paste titles that I already created in the 1st half and can bring down into the timeline without trouble.  But when I try to edit it, the program shuts down with the above error.

  • Proxy Desktop: Explorer.EXE - Application Error

    It appears that the installation of Media Manager 9 caused the following error message within Windows XP, after viewing My Network Places:
    >   Proxy Desktop: Explorer.EXE - Application Error
    >   The instruction at "0x01d3b865" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".
    The problem occurred on my machine when I installed BlackBerry User Tools, which installed two different software programs:
    >   BlackBerry Desktop Manager, version 4.2.2.14 [Apr 26 2007], and
    >   Media Manager 9, also known as Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 (Build 910B72J ENU)
    Once I removed Media Manager 9, the problem disappeared, that is, no more error message after viewing My Network Places, which used to give the error message above.
    Note. My system also has a regular installation of Roxio Easy Media Creator 9, which came pre-installed on the machine, but this name only appears on the quickly-passing splash-screen; it is titled Roxio Creator DE in the user interface. The help file calls it Roxio Creator DE, Version 9.1.573 SP1. When I was installing Media Manager 9 as a part of the BlackBerry User Tools installation, I had to tell the installation program not to uninstall the existing sub-programs of Roxio Easy Media Creator 9. I wonder if the problem could somehow derive from a conflict between these two installations.

    Thank you for your response, OzBBerry42.
    Do you know for sure that the problem is a conflict between the pre-existing installation of Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 and the partial installation of Media Manager 9 (a.k.a. Roxio Easy Media Creator 9) that I allowed when I installed BlackBerry User Tools? If so, please comment further on your findings.
    If my conflict hypothesis is is true, then this post is the only one on the Internet that accurately addresses this problem. Others who have experienced this error message apparently do not know that their some-time-in-the-past installation of BlackBerry User Tools caused this error when they eventually decided to browse shared directories over their LAN.
    Currently, I am only running the pre-existing installation of Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 with the BlackBerry User Tools installation of BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Therefore, I do not get this error message anymore. However, it took many hours to isolate this problem. I decided not to invest anymore time into testing my conflict hypothesis. Have you or anyone else?
    I would like to see the technical department at BlackBerry comment on this issue.
    By the way, I am the administrator of the LAN system. I discovered this error on a user's computer. If these types of problems are going to be had with BlackBerry phones, I might decide to discourage their use and direct people to their competitors. A response to this issue from BlackBerry would help dissuade me. OzBBerry42, if you know how to get their attention, please do.

    You mentioned that you want to reset your notebook. Is that correct?
    Are you able get into Windows? If so, you should be able to make the recovery disks if you have not already done so.
    If you need the recovery disks, this link should get the process of ordering them started.
    Pre-built systems typically do not have an actual Windows disk available for them anymore. If you want an actual Windows Vista disk, then you will need to purchase a copy from a retailer. Otherwise, the recovery disks will reinstall the original software including Vista.

  • Font Capture:  PhotoShopServer.exe error - Application Error

    I recently installed Premiere Elements 10 and, after a couple of days, I get the following error on OS boot:
    Font Capture: PhotoShopServer.exe - Application Error

    PE _seems_ to work, but does some strange things from time to time.  I need to correct this error, and hope it resolves the strange PE behavior.  I've seen other postings of the same error in PhotoShop and Encore forums with no resolution.  Certainly someone at Adobe must know what causes this.  Thoughts, anyone?

    I see this sort of error notice in Bridge and Photoshop, preceded by the message " Photoshop (or Bridge) has encountered a problem and must close. Tell MS.
    Yes or No."
    It most frequently happens in PS when running Dfine 2.0. I have no clue what triggers the Bridge closure. It happens randomly.
    CS3, so nobody gives a tinkers dam, I suppose.
    I see this kind of message in software testing on a regular basis. Of course, when the test is under way, the software is generating a detailed log file which we package up as part of a bug report. Then at the bug scrubs, lively discussions ensue as to who has to fix what!
    I can only image what would happen if the Dfine people and the PS people had to sit through one of those!

To my understanding this file is used to load EAX emulation support into older games/modules (essential loads a "middle-man" file between the game's sound files/.dll's, and the hardware SPU [Sound Processing Unit, not a real acronym, but that's what I call it since GPU and CPU are similar distincti've acronyms so if you see it used anywhere, it came from me ] to allow EAX support in non-EAX enabled games), and/or to add EAX effects in your audio files using the Wave Studio app.
    I've pinpointed this issue to either a Windows Update, or the Creative auto-update (which could mean it is an error caused by an installaion combination of multiple apps at once) because this issue did not arise until I did these two things (did Windows Update, then Creative Auto-Update, then restarted computer).
    Now I've primarily had this issue with Windows XP x64 but I have had this issue at times with Windows XP x86 as well.
    After you install the software suite, it adds an entry in your Windows Startup to load the module (Start/Run. msconfig. Startup tab. Look for STARTUP ITEM: DLLML). The entry looks like this:
    WinXPx86 looks like: "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
    WinXPx64 looks like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
    Under most circumstances this module loads fine, but because Creative, for reasons why I have not delved into, loads some of their DLL files differently than the Windows standard, which may also be a cause of this issue (extremely unlikely, I believe it is one of the 2 things i mentioned above).
    Either way, after I did those 2 things, the DLLML.exe startup entry failed to load every time.
    But I fixed it.
    Now what you have to do to resolve this issue, involves editing the startup entry in the Windows Registry.
    If you are scared to go into it, have no idea what I am talking about, or never edited the Registry before, don't worry. If you follow these steps EXACTLY, you have nothing to fear.
    I will be using default installation parameters for file pathing, so if your Operating System is installed in a different dri've letter other than C:\, then just change the letter to the one your OS is installed onto.
    Capitals used for emphesis on actions to take:
    -Hit the START button, then select RUN
    --------If RUN is not in your start menu, you need to enable it by right-clicking and open area of your TASKBAR, select PROPERTIES. --------Click the START MENU tab, then the CUSTOMIZE button. Click the ADVANCED tab. In the START MENU ITEMS box, scroll down to the entry that says SHOW RUN. Check the checkbox to fill it. Then OK/APPLY/OK, and you should be back to the desktop. Then go to START/RUN
    -type the word REGEDIT
    --------This opens the Windows Registry.
    --------DO NOT change ANYTHING in this other than the exact directions I specify or you may corrupt your registry or even worse, corrupt your system, which means F&R time (Format & Reinstall). Treat it like a stripper. You can look all you want but don't touch or there could be dire consequences.
    --------Now the fastest way to find this is to manually navigate to the specific "key" or "entry" you need to modify. Mouse-click the +'s to navitage further into the "hi've" following these maps:
    -FOR WINDOWS XP x86 USERS NAVIGATE TO: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
    -FOR WINDOWS XP x64 USERS NAVITAGE TO: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432\Microsoft\Wind ows\CurrentVersion\Run
    --------Now you are looking for a specific entry NAME called RCSYSTEM. Depending on which version you are running. They are:
    -FOR WINDOWS XP x86 USERS: "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
    -FOR WINDOWS XP x64 USERS: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem * -Startup
    -------Now we are going to edit the entry. What we need to do is get rid of that * (asterix) character in the name. I don't know why it is there, I'm thinking it may be a coding error. But in my WinXPx64, this was the culprit.
    -Double-click the RCSYSTEM key to edit it, and edit it so it looks EXACTLY LIKE THIS (If you're paranoid about doing something bad, COPY and PASTE this line pertaining to your installed OS. KEEP IN MIND THE INSTALLATION DRIVE LETTER, CHANGE FIRST LETTER IF NESCESSARY)
    -FOR WINDOWS XP x86 USERS: "C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem -Startup
    -FOR WINDOWS XP x64 USERS: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Shared Files\Module Loader\DLLML.exe" RCSystem -Startup
    -click OK button. Now it is changed.
    -------And we're DONE EDITING the Registry entry!
    -now go to FILE in the top-left menu, then select EXIT
    -RESTART your computer
    -------You should not receive the "DLLML.exe failed to load" (application error) again!!
    To check to see if it loaded into your system properly (as if not getting the error message anymore was proof enough it loaded properly), when you reboot back to the desktop, do the "three-fingered salute" (ctrl-alt-delete), then select the PROCESSES tab. Click on the IMAGE NAME heading to sort it alphabetically, and look for the name (WinXPx86) DLLML.exe or (WinXPx64) DLLML.exe *32.
    If you see it listed, it loaded!! CONGRATS, IT BE FIXED!!
    If this did not work for you, then your system is posessed, get a priest. I don't think a witchdoctor would give your comp good vibes O_o
    Hope this resolved it for you. Enjoy your EAX with Duke Nukem 3d again!
    EDIT: As a side note, I also noticed that since after this fix, my computer doesn't hang after sending the restart/shutdown killsignal, so I am wondering with people having similar hanging issues, if their issue could be resolved something similar to this.
    Just a thought for any admins/mods/users out there that know what they are doing that maybe wanna test that out.

    G Kudos for a brilliant finding! After a Windows Hotfix on my XP SP3, when shutting down my PC I would wait for a program and then get an error that EAX was not responding before finally shutting down. On next reboot I lost sound on my PC. After running tests, the Direct Sound test failed pointing at EAX.
    This solution cured the problem. Again, kudos, job really well done!!!
