  • Does Palm Pre Support Bluetooth SPP Profile?

I am a developer for a software company.  I write all the application software mainly for Windows Mobile to control our hardware in the field using Bluetooth SPP Profile, or Serial Port over Bluetooth.  Some clients have asked if they can use their Palm Pre phones to control our hardware.
    Does Palm Pre support SPP?

At this itme the PRE does not support the SPP profile.
    These are the profiles currently enabled on the PRE;

  • Does the Palm PRE support Subscription MP3 files such as Napster to Go or Rhapsody to Go?

Does the Palm PRE support Subscription MP3 files such as Napster to Go or Rhapsody to Go?
I know the Palm Centro (my current phone) does, however I just wonder that with the Amazon MP3 store so integrated with the PRE that Palm/Sprint might not allow subscription MP3 because it may take away from Amazon MP3 sales. PLEASEEEEEEEEE does anyone have a solid confirmation that the PRE will support Napster to go??

We don't know yet.  The device has not been released.

  • Why is 6790 not in the list of supported devices ?

My Nokia 6790 came with Ovi Maps installed, however when I try to upgrade I am asked to select the model from a list, and the 6790 is not listed.
Why is 6790 not currently in the list of supported devices ?

@alanbarneys -jj was just quoting a previous post. His posts are always like that. Even I at times have trouble reading them.
Anyway, to answer the question regarding free maps to the 6790. This is a special case since AFAIK the 6790 Surge is a special edition phone available only through AT&T. Such special edition phones often do get software later. However, Nokia did promise to get newer phones availability to the Free Maps service this month.
Please note that for certain models (the N86 in particular) are rumored to have a scheduled update for this month to make it compatible with maps. All you can do now is to wait and see if the 6790 is going to be one of the units with the upcoming update.
Please note that currently, the only devices supported are those with the s60v5 operating system (touch screen) and non touch screen phones with s60v3FP2 operating system with 600mhz processors.

    Hi Dawit
Do you have device available with you? If yes then it will be better if you can check sysObjectID (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2)
of device and then check in supported device table.
It always good to check device support with sysObjectID for accuracy.
    Thanks

Not what you want to hear, I know, but this is a user to user forum. No one here has the power to help you.
You can get information about an order you placed on the Apple Online Store through the Order Status page. If you prefer, you can also get order status or make changes by phone at 1-800-692-7753.
You can try calling again and if the person you speak to can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor.

  • I am unable to add my iPad to my support device list.

    Hi All
Hopefully someone can help me as Apple so far have been next to useless.
A few months ago I took my iPad 3 to the Apple store to get it swapped out as the home button was not responding as it should be.
I took the swap away and a few days ago logged into my Apple Support Devices page and it lists my iphone but not my iPad. I went to add it by putting in the serial number and got presented with
According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple
ID. If you have more than one Apple ID, log in to My Support Profile with
that Apple ID to see your other registered products.
I then emailed Apple who told me they had un-associated it from any Apple ID and i should now be able to add it..
    It tried...and I couldn't..
I then emailed them back telling them that and they have told me to ring up and pay a Fee..
All I want to do is get the device registered to myself!!
    Any help would be great..
    Thanks

  • TS5376 Unistalling Appl Mobile Support Device

I've had to unistall iTunes due to an error message I was receiving regarding an updated and can't uninstall the Apple Mobile Support Device.  The error message coming up now while trying to unnstall this programme is 'verifiy you have sufficient privileges to start system services'.  I've tried to repair it and get the same message.  I now can't re-install the iTunes until this has been removed.  Any advise would be gratefully received.

  • Bluetooth - the list of pre know devices for discovery

    Hello,
    Here's my problem:
My application is a 1 waiter - 1 caller program where the waiter sends its BLUETOOTH ADDRESS to the database. Then the caller checks the database for the BLUETOOTH ADDRESS of the waiter. After that the caller connects to the waiter do trade messages (strings).
So the thing is, I already did the "waiter" getting its own "address" and sending it to the database. I can also get it back from the database to the "caller".
But now in the "caller" the code must search for devices and services... so I think it would be nice to use the "PRE KNOWN" (since he already knows the bluetooth address) to get the service list from the "waiter".
Is this "pre known" a good approach for this problem?
How can I set the "pre know" addresses for pre know discovery - is it doable by code or only manually by the user ?
    Thanks for your comments.

    Hi ZeroOneZeroOneOne
I've been watching this topic hoping to learn something I might want to use later, but nobody seems to be responding.
So I went through the javadoc for the BT API, and it appears that "A device can be set as a pre-known device in the Bluetooth Control Center." i.e. cannot be added programatically. From the point of view of security, this seems reasonable, I wouldn't want a free download to add BT devices to my preknown list !!
Have you considered doing the search just once, when your app is first run, and storing the (now known) address in a RecordStore? Then on following runs you could getRecord() the address instead of searching for devices.
Do post on whether this was useful, and whether you found a way to add a preknown address in code.
    Regards, Darryl

  • I connect my mic with an M-audio mobile pre usb device.  When I try to record, I can see that my voice is recording but can't hear it during playback.

I connect my mic with an M-audio mobile pre usb device.  When I try to record, I can see that my voice is recording but can't hear it during playback.  I tried different input and output settings but it didn't help.  Any help will be appreciated.

Hear your microphone or instrument as you play and record (monitoring)
You can hear, or monitor, input from an instrument or microphone in GarageBand while you play and record. When you turn on monitoring for a track, you hear the musical instrument or microphone connected to the track’s input. Monitoring lets you hear yourself play so that you can hear the part you want to record as well as the rest of the project.
You can turn on monitoring for a Real Instrument track or Electric Guitartrack from the track’s header, or in the Track Info pane. Electric Guitar tracks always show their monitoring buttons, and you can show monitoring buttons for Real Instrument tracks using a menu command. You can use monitoring with feedback protection to avoid feedback while you play.
    Hide
To turn on monitoring in the track header:
Choose Track > “Show Monitoring for Real Instrument Tracks.”Monitor buttons appear in the headers of Real Instrument tracks. On tracks with monitoring turned on, the button lights yellow.
Click the Monitor button in the header of the track you want to use.
HideTo turn on monitoring in the Track Info pane:
Double-click the header of the Real Instrument or Electric Guitar track you want to turn on monitoring for.The Track Info pane opens.
From the Monitor pop-up menu, choose one of the following:
Choose Off to turn off monitoring. You can hear your instrument only while you record.
Choose On to turn on monitoring and protect against feedback.
Choose On (no feedback protection) to turn on monitoring without feedback protection. If the input level is too high, it may cause feedback (especially if you are using a microphone and listening to your project through your computer speakers).
For an Electric Guitar track, you can view the Monitor pop-up menu by clicking Edit, and then clicking the back side of the amp. The Monitor pop-up menu appears with the input controls below the stage.
You should usually turn off monitoring when you are not playing or singing. When monitoring is turned on, your computer can pick up output from your speakers or monitors, causing unwanted feedback. Using headphones rather than speakers to listen to your projects can help eliminate feedback.
If you select your computer’s built-in microphone as the audio input, in the Audio/MIDI pane of GarageBand preferences, monitoring is turned off for all Electric Guitar tracks to avoid unwanted noise.
