ThanksIf you are wanting this in order to learn DG, why would you deprive yourself of the learning opportunity by getting a pre-configured setup? A lot of what you need to learn comes in the setup itself.
It's not all that hard. It's exactly how I learned to create a DG setup. Get yourself a copy of VMplayer, VMworkstation, or VirtualBox. Build two vm's with Oracle Linux. Install oracle on one of them and create a database, with no regard to DG. then get out the DG manual and proceed to build the standby on the other vm.
Yes, you will do some things wrong. Yes, you will struggle with understanding some of the setup options. That's part of the learning. If you don't struggle with those things to get a grasp of how it fits together, you won't be in a position to troubleshoot a system.

A) I am trying to run JAAS on Weblogic. We have got our own login module developed based on JAAS specification.
I have created jas.config which is as follows:

I came across the potential fix through the document: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23717_01/doc.71/e23699/adm_troubleshoot.htm#BABIHJJF . The fix works fine.
However I would like a better explanation of the issue and the fix. The issue happens only on Solaris servers that run sftp, but not on linux servers.

I want to ask to everybody something about Oracle 10g RAC and ASm configuration. We plan to migrate to Oracle 10g from 9i, and we will begin configuring oracle but we have to decide which configuration are the best.
Our materials are bellow:
Hardware: RP 3440 (HP)
OS : HPUX 11i Ver 1
Storage: EVA 4000 (eva disk group)
The problem is:
Our supplier recommand us to use HP serviguard + HP serviceguard extension for RAC+ RAc and Raw device as configuration.
But we want to use Oracekl Clusterware + RAC + ASM
My question is if anybody know what is the best configuration, we want to use ASm.
Can we use HP serviguard and ASM.
Some documentations or link explain oracle RAC and ASM configuration will be appreciate.

there's no extra RAC software package, but the option is only offered, if one of the supported cluster layers for the respective OS has been installed before.
10.1.0.3 looks like a complete redesign, but anyway it is a patch, you have to install 10.1.0.2 first.

I am facing the below error while installing Oracle RAC in Silent Mode.
SEVERE: There are no common subnets represented by network interfaces across all cluster nodes.
SEVERE: [FATAL] [INS-40925] One or more nodes have interfaces not configured with a subnet that is common across all cluster nodes.
   CAUSE: Not all nodes have network interfaces that are configured on subnets that are common to all nodes in the cluster.
   ACTION: Ensure all cluster nodes have a public interface defined with the same subnet accessible by all nodes in the cluster.

Any pre keyed effect sites that work with adobe premiere elements 11?

I have been trying to find a legit non scam/virus site with pre keyed effects like explosions, gunshot fire, fire, and other effects like that.
Most sites that I've tried are virus' or only work with imovie.

Can we configure Oracle 10g xe so that it accept date in yyyy-mm--dd format

I am facing problem in inserting and updating data in oracle server through jdbc. its java.sql.Date class sends date in yyyy-mm-dd format while oracle requires date in dd-mmm-yy format. can we configure oracle server in such a way that we may send date in yyyy-mm-dd format to insert and update?

The way I read it, Avi stated that overriding the NLS_DATE_FORMAT as an initialization parameter WILL NOT affect the way XE works, and you still need to set the parameter at the session level.
This is true.
As demonstrated here, where I
- startup my XE (SuSE 10.1 Pro/Linux),
- show the NLS setting,
- log on to a regular user, -
- show the system date,
- change the NLS_DATE_FORMAT system wide by updating my PFILE,
- restart the database
- show the NLS_DATE_FORMAT
- extract the system date.
As you see from the console session, the date still comes out in the format defined by the NLS_TERRITORY, in spite of what the global NLS_DATE_FORMAT indicates.

Setting to Select Elements on a Logical Model and Have Them Pre-selected on Engineer Page

Is there a setting somewhere that would allow me to select objects on a logical model or in the tree view and have them pre-selected in the Engineer to Relational Model window? Coming from the Designer world I keep selecting entities in my model and am surprised they are not already selected when I click the engineer icon. If not I will submit this as an enhancement. Anyone else interested in this?

Pre-built Oracle Solaris 11 VM - Invalid md4 checksum for part04

I downloaded all 4 parts for this VM and the md5 checksums for the first three are fine, however part04 is invalid. I downloaded the part04 file twice with the same results. Judging from the small filesize (only 70MB) it appears to be truncated.
Can someone investigate this part04 file and verify?

My workaround was to download the full larger file using a download manager.
I used DownThemAll for Firefox.

However, the sync action only triggers every 60-minute and there is no user-configurable option provided. Although one can put a Sync icon onto the toolbar for easier access, it is still far from practical needs.
To unlock this limitation, do the following:
1) Type “about:config” at the address bar
2) Search for “services.sync.syncInterval”
3) Change the value from 3600000 (milliseconds = 3600 seconds = 60 minutes) to any value (in millisecond) of your choice
4) Close and restart Firefox
The Sync action will now trigger at the interval you just set.
