  • Putting PVDMs in NM-2V / VIC-2FXO / VIC-2FXS into DSP farm

I have a Cisco 2650XM router with an NM-2V module with one VIC-2FXO and one VIC-2FXS card in it. I'm very new to Cisco voice stuff and want to get started with it. I'm trying to pool the PVDMs on this router into a DSP farm so that they can be used in CME 4.1 with call conferencing / transcoding / VoIP calls between Cisco IP Communicator and Cisco VoIP physical phones but I'm having issues doing so. I believe I'm supposed to create a DSP farm by going into "voice-card X" mode and assigning them to the DSP farm?
I know that there are PVDMs present because they are listed when I do a "show voice dsp detail." I'm not sure if the PVDMs are present in the NM-2V module or actually on the VICs. Can someone offer advice?

Yeah, the only cards / modules that I have in the router are the NM-2V, VIC-2FXO, and VIC-2FXS. Here is the "show diag" output as well as some other ones that may be useful.

  • Translation Pattern not working

    Hi,
    i got a wierd issue.
we have 2 TP, one 8122575 (has a full DDI coming in chelmsford) and one 8151198 (has a full DDI coming in stafford)
chelsmford and stafford are 2 different locations.
the partition/css are the same for both TP.
the Called Party Transform Mask is an external number and it pre-dial 9
if i dial from external phone to the full DDI in chelmsford, i end up on the external number so it works ok
if i dial from external phone to the full DDI in stafford, it goes nowhere ...
i checked the css but cant see any reason why chelmsford tp reaches to chelmsford gw and goes isdn and why stafford does nothing
    any idea?
    thanks
    cucm 7.1.5

    Hi,
Have you tried testing the call with Dialed Number Analyzer? I find that's a fantastic and often-overlooked tool for this kind of issue. If DNA shows the call will not route, it's probably a CSS issue for the Stafford gateway. If DNA shows the call will route, then it's probably a dial-peer issue on the Stafford gateway.

  • RightFAX 9.4.0.239 - FAC authorization codes problem

    Hi community,
I'm running a cisco RightFAX server and I would like to use the FAC (authorization codes) for my outgoing faxes.
I can successfully send a fax to an external extention 9123456789 for instance.
But If I try to add a FAC after my extention, it doesn't works.
    Ex :
Route pattern for FAC = 9
    Dialed number = 123456789
    FAC code = 12345
    9123456789#12345#
My issue concern (I think) the pause after the first '#'.  My faxserver is configure with a H323 link to the CUCM8.
I already tried to add a 1 second pause with the character ",".  But without success.
    I also tried with 2 ,3, 4 seconds.
Does anyone has already successfully archieved an outgoing fax with FAC ?
Could we configure digit overlap in order to send the digits one by one ?
With my ipphone 7942 I have the same issue.
If I Pre-dial  9123456789#12345# and then press the speaker/line button. The call fails.
If I first press the speaker/line button and then dial the extention, it works fine.
    Help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks
    mat

    Matthieu,
I'm not aware if rightfax supports sending DTMF tones after the call is in a proceeding/connected state. In most instances, the FAC digits need to be sent after the call is established. If the digits are sent with the called party number then CUCM/IOS will treat them as part of the called number.
This questions  is best if redirected to Rightfax support to have them explain if DTMF can be sent after the call is connected/established.

  • Pre-programmed Speed Dial

Does anyone know how to delete the pre-prgrammed speed dial entries in the Tour.  That would be speed dial letters A, Q and W?

    Check this thread
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=9630&message.id=2118&query.id=2333197...
    Here is the summary
    Press Green Call Send button
    Press BBerry Menu Key
Go to View Speed Dial List
Press the letter entry you want to change (A, Q, or W )
    Press the Enter button
You'll now be able to select a new contact for that location from the contact list that comes up.

  • Does password lock Bluetooth dial-out on Pre?

    Hi,
I currently have a Treo 700P and am interested in the Pre.
One thing that annoys me to no end with the Treo, is that
if I have a password set, my Bluetooth hands-free
cannot dial out without me entering the password
on the phone.  That renders the hands-free essentially
    useless.
If I have paired the phone and the hands-free unit
with a bluetooth passcode, that, in my opinion,
    should be sufficient authentication.
Does anyone know if Palm has fixed this problem on the Pre?
Post relates to: Treo 700p (Sprint)

I feel the passcode is best. If you are worried about your notes, then you should be worried about everything. You don't care that somebody can go to any site you have logged into and had it remember your password? You are not worried about them making calls? You are not worried about them having full access to your email accounts?
If a lock was provided for the notes, then why stop there, add a lock to every application.
You do know you can set a delay on the passcode lock right? You don't have to enter it every time you go to use the phone. You can make it just lock after x amount of time of non-use. For me, I have that set at 5 mins. So if I get a txt, I unlock, reply. Lock screen put in pocket. Friend replies like a minute later, I don't have to enter code again as it was under 5 mins since I locked it. To me that is good enough to not be annoyed by having to do it everytime but know it will lock in time so no one person can really gain access once it is idle for a bit.

  • EZVPN public internet split tunnel with dialer interface

I have a job on where I need to be able to use EZVPN with split tunnel but still have access to an external server from the corporate network as the external server will only accept connections from the corporate public IP address.
So I have not only included the corporate C class in the interesting traffic but also the IP address of the external server.
So all good so far, traffic for the corporate network goes down the tunnel as well as the IP address for the external server.
Now comes the problem, I am trying to send the public IP traffic for the external server out of the corporate network into the public internet but it just drops and does not get back out the same interface into the internet.
I checked out this procedure and it did not help as the route map counters do not increase with my attempt to reach the external router.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/vpn-client/71461-router-vpnclient-pi-stick.html
And to just test the process, I removed the split tunnel and just have everything going down the tunnel so I can test with any web site.  I also have a home server on the network that is reached so I can definitly reach into the network at home which is  the test for the corporate network I am trying to reach.

    Thanks for the response.
Not sure how that would help as I can connect into the internal network just fine, but I want to hairpin back out the interface and surf the internet from the VPN client.  The policy route map makes the L10 the next hop and it has NAT.

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)
Update 6/18: I have directed this thread to a manager of Palm's technical team, he advised me that many of these suggestions were forwarded to the development team and most are being worked on/considered. He also confirmed that an update is coming over the next couple weeks that will fix a few issues including the SSL issue with EAS... and there is another update that will fix the MSFP issues (security policies) with EAS email (in around 60 days) It's good to hear that Palm is very responisive to our needs and suggestions.
Update 7/11: Since this thread has received so much attention and ideas I have not been able to post all the different suggestions on this front page. I have put this forum thread in front of several sprint/Palm employees that do have a say in future updates... so please keep posting suggstions! Please also use the link below. Thanks!

  • How to enter a contact's ext. # without auto-dialing it?

Is there a way to enter the extension for a contact's phone number when the company's phone system doesn't accept automated extension dialing? I used the proper procedure for adding an extension, but the switchboard operator picked up the phone as the extension was being dialed (after a pause), and she said I can't pre-program the extension. She said I have to call the main number and tell the operator the extension I want and then she'll connect me. I tried other methods of entering the extension without the pause technique, but I can't get "contacts" to accept it. Any tips? I just want to be able to list the person's extension next to their phone number for easy reference. Thanks in advance.

Same boat here -- lots of professional contacts who don't have automated extension dialing.
It appears the only solution is to save extension numbers in the Notes section, first line. Depending on how much info you have in the fields above, it may or may not appear without having to scroll down.
    Hope that helps.

  • Dial-up no longer works after update to 10.5.8

I was running 10.5.6 on an Intel Mac, using an external modem on dial-up service. (Nothing else is available here.) Today I got access to a Wi-Fi network and installed the combo update to 10.5.8, along with some other updates. All worked fine. When I reconnected at home, my dial-up modem - an Apple (v.92) will no longer connect. I get the dial tone, the number dials, then the usual modem noise, then it disconnects, with the message (Unable to negotiate a connection. Check your settings and dial again."
I spent an hour on the phone with my ISP and we could not solve the issue. Eventually they said it must be an Apple issue. Any ideas?

    Hello, Emir,
I'd suggest you ask again in the MacBook Pro forum. This forum is intended for old, pre-PowerMac G3 hardware and so not the most likely place to get a quick and applicable response.
    Regards.

  • N80 How do you configure a dial up account?

On my SE p800 I could create a dial up account as the equivalent of an Access Point on the N80.
Is it possible to add a normal dial up internet account as an access point?
or do you have to use WLAN or a pre defined access point
such as 'O2 MobileWeb' that uses 3g or GPRS.

so when you try to pick up your email it will use this connection. to do this, when you set up the email client the wizard will lead you all the way through. at the end it will ask you what access point you want to use, just pick the dial up one you create.
no, whenever you go to pick up email the phone will always dial it.
I have done this on an existing account so it only refreshes my email over WLAN.
    Unfortunately my problem still stands,
there is no option to select GSM as a data bearer when I create the access point.

  • Contact bug : contact phone numbers in edit mode are not shown in "dial" mode

Contacts can have seemingly unlimited phone numbers as seen in the contact edit mode, though very few are shown in the corresponding non-edit mode. Of course, Dialing is not supported in the edit mode.
I have found that contacts that include pause characters or block characters are not properly displayed in the contact "dial mode".  If you every try a conference call service, this is important to you.
At&t uses the comma as a pause, and Verizon uses the letter "t" as a pause.  *82 temporarily blocks your caller id.  Somehow the WebOS software that chooses which items to allow me to dial has bugs and worse, there is no clear way to prioritize so I am completely at the whim of the software.

I have tested entering 12 phone numbers on my own Pre Plus and all the numbers display in the normal contact field. How many phone numbers are you trying to to display?
The dialing options on the Palm Pre Plus are as follows:
To insert a two-second pause in the dialing sequence, enter a T where you want the pause to appear. To add a + symbol in the dialing sequence for international dialing, press and hold 0 (zero) in the location where you want the + symbol to appear. To insert a stop in the dialing sequence, enter a P where you want the stop to appear; to dial the next set of numbers after the stop, tap the screen.
As far as 3rd party special dialing character entry you would need to check with the 3rd party on how to enter this information into you device for your conference calling service.

  • Voice dialing + lack of BASIC features and company communication

i beleive palm has managed to make an amazing operating system, ive never been able to manage notifications and apps so easily but the pres lack of features has been enough to get me to sell my pre to someone else that might just be coming off a non smart phone, and wants a beginner smartphone. the decision to switch does bother me but does palm have any plans in the near future to adress the lack of voice dialing? the lack of communications with future plans is aslo a mojor let down. given palms current state, i dont understand why theres no assurance to new and existing customers that palm is actually working on anything to add these features or what they plan to do in the future?! i will actually be making a switch from the palm very soon. ive used the htc hero before i came to palm and find the hero to be ten times more useful with alot more useful applications. shopsaavy is something that has saved me a great deal of money during the time that i was using it (probably enough to pay for the price of the phone) voice dialing makes it 10 times easier to keep from veering off the road when you have to make that important call to your employer to let them not your running late. though the operating system is amazingly well put together, its lack of features is what has me switching to android. dont get me wrong, i have nothing against palm themselves, i beleive you all are doing all that you can do to stay afloat and i wish palm the best....it just sucks that i wont be one of the customers helping palm do that.

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
First, I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your Pre, and hope that you will stick with us for everything that is coming. With that said, we don't even get advance notice of what 'new' is coming until it hits the public view. It all has to do with confidential information and NDA's. I hope you can understand why some things are kept secret until official launch dates are nailed down, and until all testing on new features is finished.
Voice dialing has been requested several times here in the forums, and our only recommendation is to make the request to our developers at www.palm.com/feedback where those in charge of making changes look for customer requests and ideas for new features.
    Hope this helps,

  • "Call back" dial up internet? Help!

Hello and help! I'm in Ukraine trying to use dial up internet in my apartment. Dial up in Ukraine is done by buying a card that provides you with a pin code that you use to make an account with a third party provider. The time you spend on the itnernet is "pre paid" in essence and when you run out of time
you buy a new card and scratch off a new code.
There are two ways to connect. The first is to dial straight into their server from your computer/phone line (which means you have to pay for the phone time since you're the one who dialed out and this can get expensive). The second option is called "call back." "Call back" meands my computer dials the company then the company dials me right back with an internet connection that I start using. I have been trying to get call back set up for days and
    have not succeeded. HELP!
The name of the service I am using is called Superweb (ww.superweb.com.ua/eng). I am trying to dial the 251 1212 number. I am using pulse setting. The error message I'm getting is "Could not negotiate a connection with the remote PPP server. Please verify your settings and try again."
The directions which the company normall gives to PC users are to go into "network" settings, go to "advanced", then "dial up preferences," check off "callback" and then type in the number (not sure if they mean the number I'm calling 215 1212 or my land line number but easy enough to try both).
Please, please help me solve this. Where is the call back option on a mac?
Thanks. I can't wait to hear from you.
More technical details: I have the first generation of the white 12 inch iBooks. I am running Tiger (no updates just original version).

    hi ,
access the setup page of the router using http://192.168.1.1 "admin" is the password....go to the wireless section and then to advanced wireless settings.....
turn "off" the AP isolation...reduce the Beacon interval to 50 and reduc the RTS and fragmentation threshold by 40 each....
let me know if this works.
