Pre-flight for gallery wraps? Margin, vign., etc
I have a shot I would like to get printed as a gallery wrap, but I'm not really sure how to prepare it. I have a version in Lr that is finalized, but I need to add a 1" margin that will essentially get lost in the wrapping.
So I have two questions:
1) Is there an easy way to add a specifically dimensioned margin within Lr to an already cropped image?
2) How should I handle my post-crop vignette? I don't want it to change, but since I need to resize the crop, it will change. Is there any direct correlation between the PCV 'amount' value, and the size of the image?
My best plan right now is to export both the print-crop version and the wrap-crop version and comp them in photoshop, but that seems like a pretty bad solution.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd go this route too.
Lightroom is not really a powerful layout program, so thing like this are hard to be done precisely. Better do it in Photoshop, especially that you don't do thing like this on a regular basis.

How do I create a gallery wrapped canvas image from my photo?
I take portrait photo's, what I want to ask is how do I turn them into an image for my website that looks like the photo is wrapped around a canvas frame, I have seen loads of tutorials that create a cube effect, but I want it to look like its on a gallery wrapped canvas.
I would really appreciate some ones help with this
simonThank you for your reply John
To be honest I dont know, I think the latter
If you view anyones website that sells canvas prints they have the canvas image where you can see 3 sides of the canvas and the photo wrapped around it, i want to create that image with my own photo's in photoshop (if thats possible) I am new to photoshop and dont really know to much at the moment

Renderfarm error: Pre-Flight Error: Unable to import previously rendered file
I have an error message I am receiving during network rendering on a renderfarm, and was hoping for some help. The error is this: "Pre-Flight Error: Unable to import previously rendered file."
Here is my setup and some details:
The user makes a comp, and adds it to the render queue set to render as a quicktime movie file. Then they run a script which precomps everything and sets it to render as a image sequence with "Skip existing files" checked. This comp also has a post-render action set to import & replace usage. After this comp is rendered, it gets pulled back into the project and the original render item starts rendering the movie file using the previously rendered image sequence as it's only layer.
This project gets saved to a server where our render nodes are watching the folder. All the render nodes pick up the project and proceed to render the image sequence. Then, after they are done, 1 machine will pick up the second render item and begin rendering the image sequence into the final quicktime movie.
All of this goes smoothly about 90% of the time. However, in some cases an error shows up in the watch folder html page for the 2nd render item (the one converting the image sequence to the movie). The error says "Pre-Flight Error: Unable to import previously rendered file." After the error occurs, no machines will start rendering the project.
My first guess is that the render engine on one machine somehow skips rendering the image sequence comp, and then tries to render the quicktime movie comp and fails because the image sequence has not yet been rendered. However, I can't figure out why After Effects would skip rendering the first comp.
Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks for the help, and let me know if you have any more questions about the setup,
AdamWell, you should get used to the fact that it's simply gone... Just looking at your screenshot makes me grind my teeth. From delayed writing of files to fragmentation in user folders to Windows doing obscure things this could be anything, but seriously, saving important files on the desktop? That is simply sloppy data management. There is no other way to say it. Read up on what proper file naming, incremental saving and backups are good for and why keeping work files separate and away from your user home directories is actually a quite simple, yet effective concept to avoid exactly that kind of issue.

What are the pre requisites for SPLIT VALUATION OF A MATERIALS
Dear friends
What are the pre requisites for creating SPLIT VALUATION for A MATERIAL in particular Plant
regards
RadhaHi,
I am not sure what you mean exactly.
But you would need to have the valuation category and all of the valuation types created in config in advance.
Then you can allocate the appropriate valuation category to the material (accounting view) (as long as no stock or open POs etc. exist).
then you can create your additional accounting views (one for each valuation type that you want to use).

Validate or Pre-Flight PDF file
Hi all,
I'm a programmer with a company that is printing PDF files using HP Indigo presses, which have Harlequin rips to rasterize the PDF file. We occasionally have a file that fails to get ripped, but the rip doesn't really tell me very much about what's wrong with the PDF file. We programatically generate the PDF using a Python library (PDFlib+PDF 6.0.2 (Python 2.3.4/Linux)) and output files look fine in Adobe Acrobat. I realize that Acrobat is very forgiving, so I'm looking for a tool that would validate our PDF files for correctness, or point out problems so we could fix our upstream PDF generation system.
I've looked at and tried some of the pre-flight programs for PDF's, but they all seem to just fix the PDF file rather than tell me anything about where the problem is in the file.
If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or feedback, I'd be very glad to hear it.
Thanks in advance,
Doug FarrellThere don't appear to be any strict validators for PDF. Such problems
are typically very obscure, and even if you know the PDF Specification
from cover to cover, tracking them down doesn't have a high chance.
The thing to do is push your RIP vendor for details, or indeed a fix.

What are the pre requisites for SAP SRM7.0 DB Rrefresh?
Hi,
What are the pre requisites for SRM DB Rrefresh?
ThanksHello Peter,
When it comes to DB refresh you need to know what all the client dependent data which needs to be retained.
For example you need RFC connections, Variants, User master etc.
As a pre task of Database refresh you may need to export the tables which are related to this so that once the database is refreshed you need to import them.
Ensure the proper backup of production database is available. Also check all the STMS configurations which need to be retained again.
Make sure that you need to have enough disk space which can accommodate your production data in to the pre production system.
These are some of the general consideration one needs to have but again it depends on the environment on which one runs SAP systems.

Pre installers for installing Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.0.2
is there any pre installers for installing Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.0.2 for Meter Data Management V2.0.0 Multiplatform??
reply me asap.
regards
vijayaIt would help if you provided osme basic information like what version you are installing, what operating system, 32 bit or 64 bit. We may like to help but we are not mind readers.
If you happen to be installing one of the latest versions of the framework (CC&B FW 2.2 SP 8) there is an issue.
You may have to start off with hibernate 3.2.5 then run the framework installation.
This may not do a full install but you may find that only 1 or patches have not been installed and the issue is that these require hibernate 3.2.7
So go back and install the hibernate 3.2.7 and change the environment variables to point to the new version.
Re-run the framework installer.
You may get errors in that the patches that did not previously install properly cannot be installed.
This is because they have entries in the etc/installed_fixes.txt file.
edit the etc/installed_fixes.txt file and delete the patches that will not install.
re-run the installer now and the rest of the patches should now install
The 2 offending patches may be 9384543 and 9080333. -

Pre-requisites for TBIT14 (XI) course
Hi All.
I am about to go for the TBIT14 (XI) course in a few days from now.
I wished to know that is ALE/IDOC's knowledge essential for this course? I have not worked at all on ALE/IDOC, though I have a knowledge of BAPI's.
Also, SAP says that XML and BIT100 are a pre-requisite for this course.
I have not gone through these courses. Are they really essential?
What all should I know before-hand so that I am not lost during the course?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
SamantHi,
If you are going for XI Developer Track (TBIT40) then your current knowledge is sufficient.
If you have SAP(BAPI,RFC,IDOC etc) background it is an added advantage. But it is not must.
"XML and BIT100 " courses are not essential. But you need to identify all messages in XML format.
If you are giving Certification then go thru following thread.
/thread/25311 [original link is broken]
Hope this helps,
All the Best

I paid a $104 AUS it is now $77.90 (go figure)
Unfortunately there is no image on the web site. Without pulling my PC out I'm pretty sure it has 2 outputs and 2 inputs but don't quote me on that.
You should be able to pick something like this up anywhere in the world pretty cheap.
If it was me I would say that it would be a small investment and worth it to see if you can get the Alesis stuff stabalised. -
I RECENTLY PURCHASED ANOTHER IPHONE. MY INTERNET IS NOT WORKING. I JUST CREATED AN APPLE ID. WHAT'S NEXT? I NOW HAVE TWO DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS WITH DIFFERENT USER NAMES. HOW CAN I USE ONLY ONE ACCOUNT FOR ITUNES, ICLOUD APPLE ID ETC???
Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.
