Pre-loaded Australia Map in 6110 Navigator

Hi All,
I have 6110 Navigator which was bought from Singapore. It came with a pre-loaded Singapore map, which isn't much use for me here in Oz so I deleted it.
Now I have a few questions
(1) How do I get the Australian map into this phone, as if it came pre-loaded like other 6110 Navigtor in Australia?
(2) Where does the pre-loaded map reside? In the memory card or phone?
(3) Do I need to pay for a licence to use the pre-loaded map?
(4) Do I need to flash my 6110 to get it with the pre-loaded Australia map? If so how do I do that?
Thanks in Advance.

Ths model is sold with a licence installed for the region of purchase, you would have to buy a licence from Route 66 to use any other maps.
You should be able to install the Australian maps from the software supplied with the phone on the DVD, and then you can activate it buying a licence to activate it through the "Extras" selection in the Options menu in the Route 66 software.

  • 6110 Pre-installed Australia Map

    Hey guys. I've managed to delete the preinstalled Australia map from my 6110 navigator.
    The first time I used the Route 66 software, I deleted all of the other language voices to save space on the SD card, and at the same time must have had the Australia map checked.
    I've reinstalled the Australia map to the phone via the Route 66 software, however it's now locked and needs a license, which they want to charge me 49.95 euros for. How do I get my original map and/or license back?

    Thanks for th info Patc, but the phone is brand new, so I haven't even had a chance to sync it with anything yet. I got it in Brisbane on Thursday, but was away on holiday, and only just got back to my computer. I was looking forward to playing around with it properly, but managed to somehow stuff it.
    So, basically I don't have any backups, new or old. I should have backed up the phone with the Route 66 program as soon as I connected it, but didn't. Thanks for the suggestion though, if anyones got any other ideas, I'd be grateful beyond measure!

  • N96 maps pre-loaded, must pay?

    Hi, I just bought this very nice and fully functional phone and just to find out that your add pricing for voice guided GPS.
    I find that any other GPS devices already have this function build-in and no price to pay for using it...
    So if I understand, you receive my position and send me the right 'Next Move' ... So you traking averyone using your services...
    If I go outside the phone service range, that paid service don't work anymore...
    I don't want that!
    I find this practice very unworthy from a company like Nokia.
    This function was one of the reason I bought this phone...
    Well I might just sent it back.
    Not happy at all.
    Richard.

    When you purchase a dedicated GPS unit, you have already paid to navigate with it. However, you will still have to pay for all future map updates, should wish to update. Map are generally updated every 6 months and updates costs £50 to £100 each time. You will also have to pay the full price for maps for every country if you wish to use it when away on holidays.
    Nokia have based their charges on a different system. The software and maps, including all updates are free to download. However, you pay a yearly fee for navigation. They also do short term licences like for a week or a month which is very handy for going away on holidays. Say if you were going to the South Africa for a 1 month holiday you could get a South African license for a month which you cannot do with a dedicated GPS.
    Having the latest maps is important as roads are constantly changing and new roads are added.
    Charges for using Nokia Maps.
    Firstly there is no charge to use nokia maps to locate you position and to download any maps you want. So all map updates are also free.
    You will however have to pay for navigation if you wish to get turn by turn instructions. There are various rates for navigation. You can buy a single country or regions (eg. western Europe) for different durations such as a week, a month, a year etc. There used to be a 3-year license but I am not sure if this is still available.
    Typical costs depending on country/region for a 1 week license is around €7.99, 1 month €8.99, 1 year €79.99 and 3 years €89.99. I got the 3 year license for Western Europe and everytime I go away on holidays I might get the 1 week or 1 month license for the region I am visiting.
    Also see
    http://europe.nokia.com/A41005078
    There could also be associated network charges if you choose to go online and use AGPS when navigating. Network charges can be avoided by pre-loading your maps to your phone using the Map Loader programme and turning AGPS off.

  • N6110 Navigation don't recognize loaded ovi maps

    After reformatting my memory card, I had many troubles. Firstly the restore from pc suite didn't work. I tried to start the card program. I stopped after 50% with an error. After many hours and searching the intranet I could start the card program. It allocated the cities directory on the memory card. After that I could load maps from OVI. The problem is the the navigator software only shows the world card as active. I have 2 more route66 cards license but not active. On route 66 those cards are no more available (product not found).
    HOw can I get the Ovi maps recognized in the navigator?
    Thanks for your help. I am despaired. The Nokia navigator was the best software I ever have seen.

    @N6110
    Welcome to the forum!
    Presumably as you can no longer utilise Route66 to work on your 6110 Navigator you have decided to install Nokia_Maps_2.0_4503_3.1.sis from http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download#/nokia-6110-...
    Ironically although S60 3rd FP1 device it can not run OVI Maps v3.01
    Have you got a spare formatted microSD you can insert and then open Nokia Maps application on device to re-initialise application and define folder structure?
    In the days when there was a separate Maploader application (no longer works) I seem to remember device was connected in mass storage mode for Nokia Maps, but of course has to be connected in PC Suite mode for OVI Suite to recognise it.

    You have two options:
    1) Use Nokia Map Loader. That takes forever, requires you to install .net framework, and if you run Linux or have a Mac it won't work at all.
    2) Go to http://nokiamaps.moo.no and follow the instructions on top of the page. Works on any operating system with any browser, and you don't need to install anything.

  • GPS Maps pre-load

    Can anyone tell me if there is a application that will allow me to pre-load maps for areas that I am going to visit? Doing ir 'real-time' is very long-winded.
    MotionX goes some way, but I have to move to the area on the iPhone and then 'move around it' at different zooms to cache the maps. Also a nit long-winded.

    Not currently but this was mentioned as a new feature available to developers with version 3.0. Wait for the keynote next week at the WWDC and you'll find out more.

  • Navigation problem on 6110 navigator

    I have experience a search problem with my Nokia 6110 navigator, whenever i search Broome, Australia, or move the cursor on the map to Broome, my navigation application will automatically shut down, and will lose my previous successful map point. Can anyone tell me if they have experience the same problem with their phone? thanks

    Hi timothy,
    I have the exact same problem on my phone and note you posted the problem back in August. Have you figured out why as yet? Please let me know, otherwise I will have to start chasing it up with Nokia or Route 66.
    Thanks

  • N95 no maps? 6110 incl maps!

    Hi all,
    just gotten my N95 and was very disapointed to find it doesn't have any maps on it?
    Afriend bought the 6110 Navigator and it had maps already on it?
    How is it, that the flagship phone comes without maps on it and need to be purchased seperatly?
    Can you get cheaper or free maps from the net or can I use the maps that came free with my Navman ICN 500?
    Thanks and best regards from Australia
    Martin

    Hi martinmelbourne
    Starting with off topic battery issue. If you start by fully charging then completely discharging battery for 5-10 cycles you will find battery endurance improves. There are several factors contributing to poor battery life in N95:
    Bluetooth - do you need it on?
    WLAN - can change TX100 to TX10 in advanced settings
    Disable 3G on the N95 if not utilizing:
    Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Network
    > Dual mode
    > UMTS
    > GSM
    I am sorry that I can't talk you through using Maploader v1.1 which is slightly different to 1.0, but when you run application you are able to choose Regional Maps to download; when maps downloaded to PC you can choose to put microSD into card reader or use memory card in N95 connected as a USB mass storage device (data transfer mode)

  • Nokia 6110 Navigator - Search Landmarks

    Hi,
    I am really puzzled by this simple yet complex problem.
    When I launch the "Landmark" application on it's own on my phone, I have about 20+ landmarks which I've stored there. On the same screen at the bottom, the cursor is in the search window. So what I do is to press say "M" and logically it should filter all my landmarks starting with "M". However, it always display no results.
    Now comes the strange part. when I launch the Navigator system and I chose a landmark to navigate to, similar screen appears and pressing "M" will filter out all my landmarks starting with M... correctly.
    Could someone help to confirm this is a software bug or am I doing something wrong here.
    Thanks
    /alan

    I bought a Nokia 6110 Navigator a month ago. I was waiting for this phone for more than six month in South Africa. A sales rep in Vodacom told that there was software problem that was cause of the delay.
    I upgraded all the feature of the phone using Nokia PC Suite. The phone has now the Software Version04.22. The new phone works well. I went through the guidebook tested everything is perfect.
    When come to the Navigation segment, I have a small conflict. I tested Navigation by walking and driving to destination all worked well.
    The problem I found when tries to use the ‘Landmark’ in the ‘Application’ section.
    Most of the Landmarks are saved as GPS Position using the Navigation button. These saved positions are reflected inside the Navigation Option of Search (1) and in ‘My landmarks’. I do not have any problem by using the ’My landmarks’ to plan the trip or go to destination or see them in the map.
    The same Landmarks are also routinely reflected in the ‘Application’ section of ‘Landmark’. By using, the option when I try to open the destinations or ‘show on Map’ or ‘show route’ the cursor always points the middle of the LCD screen and there is a Permanent Red Notice board Pin pointing the same position for all the landmarks.
    Could somebody help me to fix the problem, or if it the software problem and return the phone to Vodacom to fix it.
    Is that the similar to the software problem happened in U.K and results end by recalling 3000 phones by Nokia?

  • Pre-loading the cache

    I'm attempting to pre-load the cache with data and have implemented controllable caches as per this document (http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH35UG/Sample+CacheStores). My cache stores are configured as write-behind with a 2s delay:
    <cache-config>
         <caching-scheme-mapping>
         <cache-mapping>
              <cache-name>PARTY_CACHE</cache-name>
              <scheme-name>party_cache</scheme-name>
         </cache-mapping>
         </caching-scheme-mapping>
         <caching-schemes>
              <distributed-scheme>
                <scheme-name>party_cache</scheme-name>
                <service-name>partyCacheService</service-name>
                <thread-count>5</thread-count>
                <backing-map-scheme>
                    <read-write-backing-map-scheme>
                         <write-delay>2s</write-delay>
                        <internal-cache-scheme>
                            <local-scheme/>
                        </internal-cache-scheme>
                        <cachestore-scheme>
                            <class-scheme>
                                <class-name>spring-bean:partyCacheStore</class-name>
                            </class-scheme>
                        </cachestore-scheme>
                    </read-write-backing-map-scheme>
                </backing-map-scheme>
                <autostart>true</autostart>
            </distributed-scheme>
         </caching-schemes>
    </cache-config>
    public static void enable(String storeName) {
            CacheFactory.getCache(CacheNameEnum.CONTROL_CACHE.name()).put(storeName, Boolean.TRUE);
    public static void disable(String storeName) {
            CacheFactory.getCache(CacheNameEnum.CONTROL_CACHE.name()).put(storeName, Boolean.FALSE);
    public static boolean isEnabled(String storeName) {
            return ((Boolean) CacheFactory.getCache(CacheNameEnum.CONTROL_CACHE.name()).get(storeName)).booleanValue();
    public void store(Object key, Object value) {
            if (isEnabled(getStoreName())) {
                throw new UnsupportedOperationException("Store method not currently supported");
        }The problem I have is that what seems to be happening is:
    1) bulk loading process calls disable() on the cache store
    2) cache is loaded with data
    3) bulk loading process calls enable() on the cache store ready for normal operation
    4) the service thread starts to attempt to store the data as the check to see if the store is enabled returns true because we set it to true in step 3
    so is there a way of temporarily disabling the write-delay or changing it programatically so step 4 doesn't happen?

    Adding
    Thread.sleep(10000);after loading the data seems to solve the problem but this seems dirty, any better solutions?

  • Pre-loading the Cache from Database during application start-up

    We are using Spring, Hibernate, Oracle Coherence 3.5.2 Weblogic Webservices
    Our requirement is to pre-load the cache during the application start-up most probably during Authentication/Authorization Service is invoked.
    We plan to load the data for other services from database into Coherence cache so that whenever user access that particular service he ends up hitting the Cache instead of database.
    We would greatly appreciate sample code snippets on how to write CacheInitializerBean with marker to demonstrate the state of cache.

    Hi Rob,
    Thanks for pointing to the article: Pre-Loading the Cache
    In fact i already looked at that article before posting. It just mentions how to load the data from database into Cache.
    What i am looking for is how to make this happen during application start-up. This is my first hurdle.
    The second one is as mentioned in the article http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH35UG/Pre-Loading+the+Cache
    i wrote following code which never gets populated into cache. Not sure whats going wrong even though i see Hibernate loadAll() method loading all the objects in the console
    public   void populateCache() throws SQLException
        Map<Long, Object>  buffer = new HashMap<Long, Object>();
        int count = 0;
         List<Contract> contractList = this.getHibernateTemplate().loadAll(Contract.class);
         log.debug("contractList size="+contractList.size());
         for(Contract contract : contractList)
             Long key   = new Long(contract.getId());
             Object  value = contract;
             buffer.put(key, value);
             // this loads 1000 items at a time into the cache
             if ((count++ % 1000) == 0)
                  contractCache.putAll(buffer);
                 buffer.clear();
         if (!buffer.isEmpty())
              contractCache.putAll(buffer);
        }We would greatly appreciate your time in helping us resolving two hurdle blocks.

  • LocalCache - pre-load config set to true

    Hi,
    I have set the <pre-load> to true for local cache configuration. My CacheStore implements 'IterableCacheLoader'.  When I make a call to, ---
    (call 1) . NamedCache cache = CacheFactory.getCache("cacheName");
    'loadAll()' of CacheStore is invoked. 'loadAll()' returns Map which has required key-value pairs.How do I put this returned Map into NamedCache? The reason I am asking this is call1 is  made in different package from CacheStore.
    Does not loadAll() implicitly update the NamedCache?
    The requirement is to preload the data and this standalone local cache.

    @Abi99 WOW! It worked like a charm.
    It didn't work when I patched MobiMB by replacing my mobile code RM-949 before 6700 ( see attachment, hexeditor.png, navigation point - 1 ), now I placed my mobile code RM-940 after 6700 ( see attachment, hexeditor.png, navigation point - 2 ). Annnnnnnnnnnnd! BOOOM! This is what I got! (see attachment, mobimb3.png)
    Thank you sooooooooooo much @Abi99 . It was my mistake, I didn't follow your tutorial properly. First, I hesitated to install hex editor on my PC, when my AV detected it as adware. But I trust you, I disabled my AV and gone ahead and enabled my AV. It worked just fine.

  • 6110 Navigator: Missing videos after closing camer...

    Hello.
    I was shooting some video scene, and in a rush, closed the sliding cover before pressing the "STOP" button. I thought that would save the captured video as well, but alas, the video file could not be found at all in the memory card. Pretty sad.
    Does anyone have similar experience and a way to recover the unsaved videos (.mp4)? I have tried some pretty strong flashdisk recovery utils and only those files I have purposely deleted, can be seen and recovered.
    Which led me to think - where does Nokia store the video cache, while shooting a video AND before saving it. Or does it write to the actual .mp4 file while shooting?
    Thanxs for all your help.
    Regards,
    Roger

    I have a 2GB memory card, and have used Route66 sync to backup original card (Nordic maps), formattet new card in phone, and then restored original map with Route66sync. Also purchased maps "Eastern Europe" + Alps from Route66shop.
    Both Alps and Eastern Europe maps crashes all the time. Havent testet Nordic maps yet.
    I can provoke the crash by running "simulate route". The phone is then not moved at all. Simulation works OK for a random number of seconds, and then crash.
    Any idea how this can be fixed?
    And until I get it fixed, does it exist an S60 utility which let the phone redetect the memory card? I'm so fed up of turning the phone off/on or removing/reinserting the memory card now...

    Hi There,
    I have similar problem. The application crashes when I select "show on map" or try to navigate to any new destinations. When an old landmark is selected "show on map" works as well as navitation.
    I have the latest software update and reloaded the maps. Is there a way to reload the application?
