Pre-order iphone 4 Apple Store UK

Hi,
Some questions over the pre-ordering of the iPhone4, my contract runs out in December this year, o2 say I can upgrade early and pay £100.
Does anyone know that if I will be able to pre-order my upgrade through the Apple Store (UK), then collect at my local store.

Him just thought i should inform you that I already have an orange contract...and as I already have a a contract and a number i was also going to buy the new iphone 4 pay as you go...then ring up and transfer my existing number over to the new iphone...ONLY to find out apple are playing really clever this time...and then new micro sim you either have to have as a brand new contract or a brand new pay as you go sim...now this isn't great for pay as you as you will know from previous pay as you go tariffs that you will get a years free internet and then thats bout it....they WILL NOT let transfer any existing orange or other network numbers over to the new iphone 4 as its a micro sim...its probably true that it is physically possible but this is the way Apple are getting you to buy more contracts......
p.s. does anyone know when this pre-ordering starts..is it 12:01 of the 15th or 9am???

just wondering do u guys think apple should or could do pre-order at the apple retail store? save people alot of time and them alot of time as well. For me i would have to drive almost 2 hours to get to the nearest apple store, which i cant commit to that everyday hoping they would have an ipad 2 in thier shipment. So if they could do pre-order people would stop calling in every day to bug them about it, and sometime might not even make it in on time to get it before it sold out.

i did the same..what i did was i ordered mine on apple.com early in the morning on the 12th (which pushed to 3-4 weeks) then i also place pre-order with best buy(1-3 weeks)
just a little tips for those out there, you should pre-order urs online now or do the best buy pre-order and in that mean time just keep checking with local apple store and maybe you'll get luck and u can always cancel those order. Apple wont charge you until the product start shipping. just a good way to cover all your ground.

your bound to get a long line up where ever you are near an official apple store, but if youtr planning on getting by one of your carreirs it depends where you live as i was able to get iphone on the day it was released at my carriers store, though im exploring other options atm, whether it worth buying it out on apple store, work out my average data usage and just buy data packs for like $5 - $20, but no idea what atm.

Great question, it's important to have an idea when you can get the phone. Currently, the launch date annouced is September 19th, 2014. The stores will receive phones on that day as released and they will sell on the same bases, first come first serve.

IPhone 4 ordered through Apple Store app costs $699?!

I used the new iPhone Apple Store app to order my new iPhone 4. It checked my eligibility and said it would be $299, but the email I received said $699! It did the same thing for my wife and my father.

Did you try the *639# option on your phone? It tells you if you are eligible for an upgrade. I only say this because I'm also in year one of my two-year contract, but when I dialed that number, I got a text saying I am eligible for an upgrade, paying an $18 upgrade fee. Additionally, when I entered my AT&T info when reserving a phone today, my price was $199 (for 16gb).
Now I'm worried that I'll get there next week and they'll make me pay $399.

How would I go about pre ordering the iPhone 4s using another lines upgrade on my plan? Would I be forced to activate in store when the phone arrives?
Basically what I mean, is if I pre-order at Apple.com (there is a form you fill out which takes you to a pricing page depending on if you have an upgrade or not) how would I go about activating the phone on MY NUMBER while using another numbers upgrade? This will be the first time I have pre-ordered a phone (or had one delievered for that matter) so I have no idea how to activate it..

You just purchase the phone on the line that is eligible for an upgrade (thus, using their upgrade and extending THEIR line's contract another 2 years) and when you receive your phone, you will activate it on THEIR line first (this is a very important step) then, you can reactivate their phone on their line, and activate the new iPhone 4S on your line. And you'll be good to go.
Just keep in mind that it will extend the other line's contract, not yours, and you have to activate it on that line first.
This isn't what I was told. I was told to just place the order using the eligible line (my wife's) and when the phone arrives to just activate it using my phone number.
If you do this, you will be charged the full price of the phone. Activating it on the line it was purchased on first accepts the terms of service you sign when you upgrade. If you don't do so, you are charged the full retail price of the phone, because you technically did not accept what you signed

Pre Order iPhone 4 at at&t

My mom was going to pre order iPhone 4 in her name using her credit card and then giving it to me to be my phone. However all the pre order problems wasn't able to get through. Now that she can get through it cannot find her address. She has a PO Box where she gets her mail for the mail is not delivered in her town and a physical address for fed ex and ups. She called apple and they couldn't find her address so they said she could not order it in her name and send to me because her name and address had to be the billing address. Also she called her local at&t store and they said she could come in and pre order it there, but now they are no longer taking pre orders at their store. Is there a way to call apple and have the account set up in her name, but send it to my address? Both companies seem to be giving the run around. All she want to do is pre order one when one becomes available and even pay for it during pre order at at&t store or over apple on the phone, but can't seem to do that since they are not allowing pre orders at at&t and apple can't find her address on their system. She has fed ex delivered there. You think someone at apple could over ride their own system and have it sent to address where fed ex and ups know where she is at The closest apple store is like 5 hours away.

That has always been the case. Shipping address and billing address must be the same.

How does pre-ordering with Apple work?

For people who have previously pre-ordered with Apple (for an iPad or iPhone) or are familiar with their pre-order process, would you mind explaining the process to me?
In other words, will their website lag due to an overload of orders? Will everyone be guaranteed an iPhone 4 on the 15th? Is there limited availability? Will they be depleted out of iPhones if I order an hour after?
I don't care when I get it, but will I be guaranteed one on the pre-order date?

What has happened in the past is the pre-order date is when you can place an order for the phone. You will not receive it until at least the 24th (available date). If you want to be one of the first on your block to get one, I'd recommend ordering as early as possible. You will be told the prospective "receive by" date when you order. Historically, those that order early, receive them on the available date. Of course you can also camp out at your local Apple Store (as has become an Apple tradition).
It is possible there might be a lag during the initial rush, but I doubt it. Apple has figured out how to take orders fairly efficiently

Can I pre order a apple product from my home country (usa) and pick it up in store in a different country? I'm currently living in Korea, but would like to avoid the heavily marked up price for the new Ipad Mini.

I have been waiting for a post like this. Just ordered mine from AT&T and the tax is close to $52. At an 8% mark that also equals to $649. I think they are charging full retail sales tax. I called AT&T and they couldn't explain it to easily they started saying that there is an extra luxury tax but I think they don't know it's just full retail tax. They also said that it's just a hold on my card by final charge will be processed when the phone gets shipped.
I checked fine print of sprint and AT&T. Ecause when you upgrade online with AT&T you don't pay tax but it states that it will be collected at the time it shipped. Sprint charges $24 which is almost half but also claims that there might be an extra tax when it shipped.
I am puzzled by the whole issue. But 25 bucks won't get me not to order my phone. I was able to get credit from my carrier because of the competition in the form of statement credits. Ordered 2 phones and een after crazy high tax I got one for red plus some :). Tax is crazy anyone else order it an have this issue please share

I didn't even have time to cancel the preorder as that processed a couple minutes before the bundle was posted.
Pre-orders are apparently not worth my time ever again.

Not sure which password you mean. This is for the admin password for the computer. Then is instruction for your Apple ID and password.

Hi there nursegrl02! We can help here with your questions regarding the upgrade fee and device charge. The upgrade fee is a one time fee that is applied when upgrading with a 2-year contract. If you pre-order with a two-year contract, you would need to add a credit card to your order as you will be charged for the device once it ships out. If you happen to purchase the iPhone with Verizon Edge, there is no upgrade fee. You will also be billed for the device in installments. You may have to pay a down payment with Edge. Did you upgrade with Verizon Edge or our Device payment plan in the past? If so, that is most likely why you were not charged an upgrade fee.
