Pre-ordering doesn't guarantee price?

A couple of weeks ago I pre-ordered a film on iTunes at the price of £5.99, but today it was released and I opened iTunes to find the message below. If there is any sense at all in pre-ordering a digital file surely it must be that it guarantees you a better price; how can they allow you to pre-order at one price and then switch the price from under you on release day? If that's permissable they might as well put every film and album up as a 99p pre-order and then change it to £13.99 on release day.
By way of comparison, if you place a pre-order on Amazon you are at least guaranteed the price you agreed upon at that time even if the price goes up on the store after that. What kind of agreement are you entering into with Apple when pre-ordering on iTunes if they can change the price they charge you?

No, as you have found, pre-ordering does not guarantee the price. Regarding your other question about the agreement you are entering, I found this in the terms and conditions:
"By pre-ordering products, you are authorizing the Services to automatically charge your account and download the product when it becomes available. You may cancel your pre-order prior to the time the item becomes available."

You are charged when the book is released and you download it - between pre-ordering and it being released you could cancel the pre-order, so you are only charged on release.

Singapore online store pre-order doesn't work

So this seems odd, Apple have a link for pre-order in the SG store, and you can select the colour and model, but then you have no further option after that, you just cannot pre-order at all. Why would Apple allow this to happen? It's been that way since they relaunched the store on Friday. Lame.

Hey, I recently pre ordered Van Halen's new album, I got the message and clicked hoping to get the album but this wasn't the case
Instead it's saying to me that I've not got sufficient funds to pay, however, when i pre-orderd it took the last £9 of my balance, is this right?

If you are using your computer's iTunes then have you tried the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option, or does it show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks for downloading ?

I recently pre-ordered an album that is $11.99. It was one of those albums where a song downloads immediately when you pre-order. Will the price of that song be automatically taken out of the price of the album? I'm just wondering if iTunes will charge my account $10.70 instead of $11.99 when the album is released...

I managed to pre order the Deluxe Wii u package at my local best buy. Does this mean that I am GUARANTEED a Deluxe Wii U package? Or is it possible that they get sold out and I don't get it even if I pre ordered?

How can a pre-order not be guaranteed? When it comes to a new video game system that is releasing, retail stores such as best buy make sure that they have an excess amount of units than preordered. This is so the people that didn't have a chance to preorder can wait in line and have a shot at still getting the system. Homeland S3 pricing and pre-orders

I pre-ordered Homeland season 3 on blu-ray (amongst other things) on Sunday. The price in the weekly ad is $27, but the price on BB.com at that point was $32. I placed the order expecting the price to be fixed. The price on BB.com is now correct, but my order is not. My order has 3 TV seasons in it, so it has the 25% off applied, but it's 25% off $32, not $27, and at this point the order's shipped.
Why didn't BB.com automatically fix my order's price? I shouldn't have to post here, or contact BB.com to get this fixed, pre-orders should have their prices just automatically adjusted when prices drop.

As you might have already noticed, BestBuy.com and our retail stores tend to have different prices. The reasoning behind that is that they are both competing among their own markets, local retailers and online retailers. That is why Best Buy has designed the Low Price Guarantee, where Best Buy will honor a qualifying lower price.

Sniper Elite 3 Collectors Edition pre-order issue

Hi I'm in need of some help with this game and the subsequent issue surrounding a ghost order with the game. I preordered the game from Bestbuy.com for in-store pickup and after waiting for an email regarding the game I went to the local store to see if they had got it in after release. When going to check my order status I noticed that there was no order to be found. I double checked my debit account and am still seeing a charge for $60.89 which is the correct amount for the game with GCU discount applied. I was informed by bestbuy.com that I would be contacted by back office, but they haven't gotten back to me in the timeframe they layed out. I see the game is purchasable online for PS4 still, but the pre-order content is not available any longer and I'd like some help with that if possible before I make a new order.

Pre-ordering games on BestBuy.com should be a quick and painless experience. Checking the status of your order should be even easier! Has it been announced how the price drop affects preorders on The Last Of Us? I ordered before the price drop, and the price drop is still not reflected in my order. It still shows at the original price (less my GCU discount).

I'm getting a similar problem with my Macbook Pro. itunes match was working fine until two days ago when i created another 'user id' for the laptop and then an itunes account for that user under their profile. Now i cant turn on itunes match on my itunes under my user account. Contacted Apple today who said to use the Express Lane and email the problem and they might be able to make an 'exception' on the account. Otherwise I'll have to wait 88 days to access a lot of my music on the macbook pro. itunes match is still working on the iphone 4S and ipad2.
Can anyone help? The only thought was too re-stream the laptop. Ive already tried deauthorising the other user but it made no difference.

Pre-Order Price Adjusted without GCU discount

I had pre-ordered a 3DS game awhile back and the original price had been $39.99. With the Gamer's Club Unlocked discount, my discounted price was $31.99. The price of the game eventually lowered to $29.99. Once my order ({Removed per Forum Guidelines}) shipped, my price was adjusted from $31.99 to $29.99. Shouldn't it be adjusting to $23.99 to account for the GCU discount?

No need to worry though! I've had the chance to review your order and it looks like the missing difference was credited earlier today. Please also keep in mind that the funds may not post to the paying card right away -- the exact timeframe required varies by financial institution.
