Pre-owned

Do the pre-owned phones come with a NEW battery???

Hi Wamp,
All Certified Pre-Owned Device come with a new battery. The Certified Like New Devices that are given as warranty replacements in most cases, do not come with a new battery. For more information on the Certified Pre-Owned Device program, please use the link:  http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/splash/preowned.jsp
Thank You,

  • How can I exchange a defective Verizon certified pre-owned phone?

In fairness to my fellow consumers, I'm compelled to share my experience so they can determine for themselves whether a certified pre-owned phone from Verizon is a good purchase. In my experience so far, it is not.  I'm hoping that my situation can be resolved amicably, but I'm losing hope.
I purchased my certified pre-owned phone directly from VerizonWireless in July. In August, I determined the phone was defective. I called Verizon's technical support, and they confirmed the phone was defective, and that it would be an easy thing to fix. I could simply go to a Verizon store directly, and they would repair or replace the phone.
But this was not the case. The Verizon Wireless stores are actually franchises. My local stores, and a VerizonWireless customer service representative got in touch with all of them, will not exchange a device unless the parent company sends them a new phone first, because otherwise they'd have to absorb the cost. The customer service line refused to send a new phone, arguing it was the local franchisee who should pay to replace the phone.
In short, after six hours of phone calls, Naomi from Customer Care promised to give me a full refund and a free months service because I had been treated so poorly, and that this refund would take three to five business days to effectuate. Six business days later, I still had no refund. I called again, and over another four hours of calls, I learned that Naomi never submitted the paperwork in the first place, and that I was no further than I was before.
In short, Verizon promised to replace any defective pre-owned phones that they sold within 90 days of purchase. I purchased my phone 30 days ago and it is defective, but Verizon has in effect refused to honor the warranty. Their internal processes are so confused that, although they agree there is a warranty, they cannot agree on who internally is obligated to honor it.
I really hope this situation can be resolved amicably. I would love to discuss this further with a Verizon Wireless supervisor or customer care manager privately if possible. I want this be resolved quickly and easily.
I will report back later to let everyone know how my case has been resolved.

    Hi Sherita,
I sincerely hope that is true. As I've said before, it seems like it should be a very simple transaction--there's no external damage or water damage whatsover. The problem is that the GPS simply doesn't work, and it doesn't lock on to cell towers properly. I couldn't cause that kind of malfunction if I tried, and tech support has already identified those problems to be a manufacturing defects. The only question is what will Verizon do about it.
I have a 90 day warranty. It's printed on the box, and is stipulated on Verizon's website. But as I mentioned before there seems to be internal confusion as to what that process looks like exactly for a certified pre-owned phone. So far, after 12+ hours of phone calls, no individual team or department within Verizon claims it has the authority to effect a return for these phones.
I would love nothing more to report success. But so far, I've been working with Verizon support for two weeks, and am no further than when I started. I messaged Trevor immediately, but haven't heard back from him yet (but that may be because of labor day weekend.)
Please, please, please - just tell me what I have to do or what I have to show in order to get Verizon to replace the defective phone it sold me. I'm at a loss as to what I should do next.

  • How do i set up my pre owned iphone 4 with my giffgaff sim card that was used in my iphone 3gs

how do i set up my pre owned iphone 4 with my giffgaff sim card that i have been using in my iphone 3gs
My 3Gs is on its last legs.... I've just bought a second hand iphone 4 which is unlocked......I put my giffgaff sim card in the new phone and it says activation required ......then it asks me for a passcode???  PLEASE HELP!!!! I have no idea what to do xx

You need to connect the phone to iTunes and then try activating it from there and restoring it as new.
If you have further problems and especially as the iPhone you have bought is second hand, it could be that it is not unlocked.  Are you sure that it is?  If not, then you'll need to speak to the person that you purchased it from.

  • HT1349 How do i register a pre-owned ipad in my name

How do i re-register a pre-owned ipad in my name? An ipad that is registered in another person's name, but its sold to me. How do i register it in my name.
NOTE: Am getting this message in my support profile "According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple ID. If you have more than one Apple ID, log in to My Support Profile with that Apple ID to see your other registered products. Not sure if you have another Apple ID?"
So, what should i do ?

    Hi Mattakd1,
If the register web site is not letting you change the registration, you may want to call tech support.

  • How do I register my pre owned iPod to my Apple id when it's previous owner already registered it?

I have a pre-owned iPod Classic, I am unable to register it since it has already been registered before by someone else.

Just connect it to your iTunes library and sync it as if it were brand new out of the box.  This will assocate the iPod with your iTunes library.
If you would ilke to actually register the device to your My Support Profile, see this link.

i am unable to access the web on a pre owned iphone 3 that iv just bought how do i do so??

This makes a difference. What does it say in Settings > General > About?

  • Registering a pre-owned iOS device.

I purchased a pre-owned iPad from a reputable source.  I went to https://supportprofile.apple.com/ to register the device, only to find that the serial number is still associated with the previous owner's Apple-ID.  I also found two previous iOS devices that I no longer have, and unregistered them.
This situation does not affect the functionality of the iPad, and Find My iPhone, the App Store, etc. all work just fine.
Is there any way to address this issue?

same situation for me. but the previous owner for my iphone has unregistered the iphone from his apple ID email address. and still cannot register the iphone. so far, have waited a day and still cannot register it. planning on eventually going to the Apple Store to ask them about this.
oh. have an ipad that was registered under my dad's apple ID email address although he bought for me. got that unregistered and off his apple ID email address. then was able to register it under my apple ID email address. this was within a matter of minutes.
kind of frustrating that can change the registration for one device but not for the other.

  • Help Needed To Set Up Pre-Owned G3 iBook.

My wife has just bought a pre-owned 800Mhz G3 iBook to complement our G3 iMac and our 24" Intel iMac. I have never dealt with a second-hand machine before so I'm in completely alien territory and need some help.
What should I do to stamp my wife's mark on the "new" iBook and get on to it a lot of the programmes currently on the Intel iMac. e.g. Mail etc.
She wants to be selective and just have on it the things that she'll need when on the move - Mail, internet, word processor etc.
Please reply in simple terms as I'm no expert in these matters!
The iBook has no Airport card at the moment but I'm told that they're easy to fit. Or should I go with a USB wi-fi adaptor?

Wipe the drive & reload the OS. make sure the RAM is maxed out (640 MB)
what OS does she use or want on that system? reason being as the iBook G3s only have CD-ROMS or CD burners, so a set of OS X disc on CD for 10.4 is needed.
It WILL NOT boot OS X 10.5 "Leopard"
if you only have an install DVD: use an external DVD drive or use one of the current macs as a DVD drive - insert dvd into another mac & reboot holding T, until you see the orange symbol bouncing around. plug the 2 together, boot the iBook holding option & select the dvd when it comes up.
You can then use the Migration Assistant (Mac HD/Applications/Migration Assistant.app) to import her acct to the iBook. Don't import the apps tho, install those fresh as all the apps from an intel machine may not work on powerpc.
I would set up the system, install ALL updates & then delete the apps she won't use. Leave the Utilities folder alone.
Text Edit is a decent basic word processor as it has spell check & does rich formatting. There are some other stand alone apps, macworld.com is full of reviews.
Wireless: the only cards you can put internally are the Apple Airport a/b cards. These are getting harder to find & usually kinda expensive for their capability & age. You may want to suffer with a USB adapter, at least it would do G wireless & support the better WPA encryption.
    Good luck.

  • Buying a pre-owned copy of CS6 EDU - legal?

    Hi,
I have been searching for a CS6 education version for quite some time and finally found an offer for a pre-owned copy (original with case etc.) by a student who wrote he had contacted Adobe in this matter and they had confirmed selling his copy is legal as long as the new buyer is entitled to use the academic version as well.
This applies to me, and I would have no problems supplying the required evidence for Adobe to transfer the license, but I also know of the restrictions in the TOS as regards EDU versions. As my contact with Adobe phone support was not exactly satisfying ("no phone support for this product..."), I would appreciate it if someone knowledgeable, preferably directly from Adobe, could clear up the matter.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I actually do left few units of Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium Student & Teacher Edition Pack. It's Brand New. Let me know if you need 1
    Thanks.

  • How are Verizon Certified Pre-Owned phones sanitized?

    As the title states -
How are Verizon Certified Pre-Owned phones sanitized?

Well cleaned and sanitize are really two very different processes.  Wonder if the non answer IS the answer
I'm sure it is. This is actually highly disturbing. I've never thought about this. The hepatitis virus can stay active on a surface for 7 days... If these phones are not thoroughly disinfected (I would imagine it's impossible to sanitize a cell phone) Verizon could be in some serious legal heat.
Coming from 25 years in a medical lab, I nearly posted the hepatitis comment but thought against it.
We need to keep in mind, I doubt the phones get turned and back out in 7 days.  Also, There are so many things we touch every day that we all would have a better chance of contracting Hepatitis. Basically everything we touch going through our daily business. Doorknobs, napkin dispenser at restaurant, grocery cart, mailbox, pens, phones at work, the chair we sit in, heck the outer box the refurbed phone is shipped in has a better, albiet slim chance of having active hepatitis on it before the phone inside would. Imagine how many have touched that box, just to get it to ya.
If you don't place your fingers in your mouth or have open wounds uncovered, we are all for the most part safe.

  • Can you upgrade to certified pre-owned device?

I'm am currently due for an upgrade at discounted price. I wanted to know if it's possible to upgrade to a pre-owned because they are so much cheaper. I have a little flip phone now but I'm due for my upgrade and it would be sweet to upgrade to the Touch or just a smartphone period. The Touch was only $50 I think, but would they give me the discount upgrade to the Touch and/or take the discount off the $50? I just thought I might be able to get a pre-owned for close to nothing that way. I'm really sorry if that's confusing but my brain is whacked by looking for the answer waaaayyyy longer than I needed to. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.

If you are thinking about upgrading to the LG EnV Touch, I suggest picking a different phone.  The last time I upgraded I went to the Touch and had nothing but problems with it for about 2 months.  After going through 3 of them with the exact same problem (read the reviews....) I refused to take another Touch.  Verizon provided me with a Samsung Rogue, which was working great for about a year and then I started having issues with it several months ago.
So Im thinking about upgrading to a pre-owned Droid 2 if available.

  • I bought a certified pre owned phone and the screen isn't working, phone no longer made

I got a droid incredible pre owned ordered it from a verizon store. now the screen isnt working right when I touch it doesnt work. Will I get a new phone or what will happen?

How long ago did you purchase the phone?  Does it have any water damage or major physical damage?
If the phone has no damage and is less than 1 year old, it should be under manufacturer warranty and Verizon can help you with the exchange process.  You can call them at *611 to start the process, and they will send you another refurbished replacement of the same model after they do troubleshooting with you to determine that it's a covered issue.
If the phone has damage, or is outside of warranty, your options are limited unless you have paid for an extended warranty or insurance.  If you call Verizon, they can help explain all your options and direct you to the right place to start your claim.

  • Chances the KIN TWOm ever shows up as a free Certified Pre-Owned Feature Phone?

Does anyone think or know if the KIN TWOm will ever show up as a free Certified Pre-Owned Feature Phone?
I only ask because virtually every other feature phone ends up showing up there sooner or later, but it seems like the KIN might be the exception...
If it did show up there, how long would it take (approx.) after its release date?
    fisharefriends, you out there?

I will predict yes, it will eventually show up as a CPO device. It usually takes months after release though to have enough in stock to offer it online. In addition, it may be available in some areas, but not others, depending on ZIP code.
I can tell you it took about six months for the Bold 9650 to be offered as a CPO. That's the only timeline I can think of off the top of my head. The Kin was re-released in early November, so maybe this summer???

  • Difference between Pre-owned and Refurbished

I want to buy Pre-owned iPhone 5 and I am asking the difference between the preowned and the refurbished . Also, I wanted to know if the preowned iPhonewill be having hardware problems or any scratches on the device

Also be aware that "when-create-record" may fire more often than you expect, like when:
    1. the form is opened and/or the operator first navigates into the block (you likely expect it to fire here, but what if the operator simply wants to query this time?);
    2. the operator navigates past the last record retrieved by a query;
    3. the operator does a clear-record, clear-block or clear-form;
    etc.
The "pre-insert" trigger will fire exactly once for each record at commit time. The only way it could be fired multiple times is if a database trigger or other, later form trigger fails with an error, and the operator fixes the problem and attempts the save again, then the pre-insert will fire again for each record.

  • Final Fantasy X/X-2 Vita pre-owned

    Couple of questions:
I saw this game on the site but it is not available to buy yet. When will it become available and will it include a new code for X-2 since that was a download?
I am a gamer's club member and got a $10 off preowned over $29.99. Will I be able to use both the coupon and my 20% off?

    Hello jjatindranath,
Final Fantasy is a good addition to any weekend, and I'm sorry we don't have a pre-owned version of X/X2 for PSVita for you at this time.  I'll be happy to address your questions today.
We don't have any way to anticipate when copies will be available, so I would encourage you to keep checking back periodically, as inventory can change daily.
Any digital codes provided in-pack on a new game purchase are not required for a trade-in, so I would not anticipate that a valid code would be provided if you were to purchase a pre-owned version.
Coupons are intended to be taken before the Unlocked discount is applied to a purchase, so you should be able to use a valid pre-owned coupon in addition to your Unlocked discount.
Thanks for the questions, and thank you for being a My Best Buy member.
    All the best,

  • Phone pricing for certified pre-owned

I was looking into upgrading my phone, and noticed that Verizon's "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED" phones, are just as expensive as the "NEW" Models. What's the deal? I used to have the EN-V Touch. Within the first week I had several problems. I took the phone back several times, just to have new problems with the "certified pre-owned" that I was given. Obviously these people brought their phones back for a reason, and the problems were not fixed correctly. Am I the only person that thinks this "certified pre-owned" pricing is a crock of crap?

Haha well I didn't get the phone I already have, but I didn't get the phone I ordered either. Needless to say I'm upset with Verizon yet again, especially since they won't even let me return the phone at the store but are making me ship it back by 2-day Fedex in order to receive a refund. I am not ordering the correct phone until this one is fully refunded, since I have no doubt that I will be charged the $35 restocking fee for returning a phone that I didn't even order. It blows me away how the simplest things are made so complicated when Verizon's customer service is involved.
